This place was pretty good!! They could do better on bussing their tables...a lot of tables were left dirty and one side had a bunch of food on the floor...maybe the last party had little kids. Needless to say my Tonkatsu ramen was delicious. I also enjoyed the edemame. They brought it all out at the same time...it would've been nice to nosh on that before the ramen came out. Very terrible. They messed up our order and didn't even apologize or let us know. Food was so bad and bland. I ended up leaving my bowl hardly touched on the table and walking out to go to get something else to eat somewhere else. Boba was also disappointing, hardly any flavor or sweetness. We were in town visiting during the first big snow of November 2022 so this was a perfect option for lunch. We walked right up to the counter and ordered and our ramen came out very quickly. There is a water station for you to fill your cups. The Garlic Tonkatsu and the Spicy Beef Ramen were great! The broth was salty, creamy, and warmed us up! THe Spicy Beef Ramen comes with a large beef rib but the beef was dry on the bone. Otherwise, the noodles were bouncy and al dente, the broth was tasty, and the toppings were fresh. I was HOSPITALIZED from food poisoning here on Valentines Day 2025. I ordered a level 2 spicy ramen with no bamboo at 6:30pm and by 4am I was experiencing violent diarrhea and vomiting that landed me so dehydrated that I required IV fluids in the ER. The hospital said it was likely salmonella or shigella and my temperature was 104 for several days. I lost 15lbs, missed 3 days of work, and didn't couldn't hold down water, food, or medication for 3 days. What was Bozeman Hokkaido Ramen's response to a customer being hospitalized from their food? Force me to spend an hour jumping through hoops with ChowNow, their online/takeout ordering software, only for ChowNow to tell me the owner of Hokkaido could have refunded me themselves. They should be responsible for my ER bill and the owner refused to listen to my story. They did not take the issue seriously and I know of one other person who ate there around the same time that day that was also hospitalized for extreme dehydration due to food poisoning. Both of us are in our mid 20s, otherwise healthy, active individuals with no underlying health concerns. The illness I got from eating at Hokkaido Ramen was life-threatening and I am a healthy person. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET VIOLENTLY SICK AND DEAL WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Make this right Hokkaido Ramen Bozeman, I have filed a complaint with the Gallatin County Health Department. This is such a rare find in a surprisingly beautiful city, to find a legitimate Ramen shop in Montana is really cool, and the modern decor really fits the feel of this modern college town. The food: Big perks to Hokkaido Ramen House for making their spicy ramen actually spicy. I can't tell you how disappointing it is thinking someone is going to bring the heat when you order the top tier of spice and it's black pepper at best, but not here spice heads, they'll make you sweat. The noodles are quite nice, they aren't the best I've ever had, but they're definitely a cut above the rest. The base of the soup is absolutely delicious and always served hot, and it really feels like the overall texture/quality of the dish is how ramen ought to be. I give it a 4/5 because despite the food being quite good the portions to prices don't quite match up, I bought some crab rangoons and the spicy tonkotsu and spent about 18 dollars between both, but both were smaller portions. read more

This place looks like it has only been open a short time. It was already very busy for lunch which is obviously a great sign. We got two garlic tonkotsu ramens and a cheese tea. The broth for the tonkotsu was rich and flavorful and did not have the corner cutting tell tale over salting. Noodles were good. The shoyu tamago was well cooked and the yolk still was not over cooked and still very soft, it was a little under marinated for my taste, but I like a mine pretty dark. The Chashu was on par and tasted good, I like mine a little fattier(personal preference) but it was solid. The Cheese tea was really good, I asked for it 50% sweet and it came just about the perfect sweetness for me. The green tea was really good and not overwhelmed by anything else. The boba was probably the best I have had out of the couple attempts I have made in Montana. Lots of bonus points in my book for the high quality cup and the appearance of the tea. We got the garlic tonkotsu, level 3 spicy ramen bowls & deep fried octopus dumplings this past rainy Sunday to-go amidst the coronavirus pandemic. First time trying this place out! Since we did have to drive back to Belgrade to eat, I think that may have affected the quality of the dumplings and we weren't crazy about them texture-wise. They were kind of a little too soft and squishy on the outside. The eel sauce was definitely flavorful, but the octopus itself didn't have much taste. We will try again when we can eat them there! The ramen was awesome! I'm not really qualified to comment on it as compared to other ramen, though, because I've never had ramen with all the toppings, etc, but we really enjoyed it. The level 3 spiciness left my lips burning and I drank a lot of water throughout, but I'm kind of a baby with spiciness. My throat didn't close up or anything, so I'd say you can definitely handle it if you like it spicy.
