Disappointing Service and Billing Practices My family has spent thousands of dollars with this business, but our recent experience was the final straw. We were charged over $300 for an inspection related to an issue that had already been documented and discussed with staff in 2024. We had previously decided not to pursue the repair due to the cost, yet we were still charged for a diagnosis of a known problem. When we raised our concerns, the owner offered several explanations and only provided a partial credit, which we found unacceptable. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. In the past, we were charged more after incorrect parts were ordered for a repair, and on another occasion a quoted price changed when we arrived to pick up the vehicle. Based on our experiences, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this business. read more

First & last time I will get any car maintenance done at Dave's Tire & Auto. I called for an oil change. They said it will be $65 or $72. Much too high, but I needed to get it done. When I got there, a different woman told me $47 ish An hour later after the oil change was done, the bill was $92 !! When I asked them why the $92 final price was so different from the price I was given, the girl said I was disrespectful. Imagine that, being disrespectful is wanting to pay the price I was given & not twice that much. RIPOFF !! Never coming back. read more

This was my first visit to Dave's Tire & Auto, and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. It was Monday, and they were booked until Tuesday. I needed 2 tires mounted and balanced. When the technician unloaded the tires and wheels, he said he could get it done while I waited, in 10 minutes. I had stopped at other tire shops, and they told me to go to Nogales or Tucson 30 miles each way, because they were too busy. Dave's is a friendly, well organized shop. I had a great experience today here. Arrived at 9:55 for 10:00 appointment was informed that they were just a little behind I said no problem can I wait? Michelle said sure it won't be that long. I was out of there at 11:03. I've worked in the automotive repair business for over 30 years servicing numerous types of repair shops. I saw a shop that was very well organized with the latest equipment.. Michelle runs a real tight ship. Very knowledgeable in repairs and getting work orders to the technicians. She was on the phone talking to customers, talking to walk-in customers and ordering parts. Never missed a lick! I had an opportunity to talk to the technician that was working on my truck. And he informed me of other issues that I should be made aware of. No hard sell just a matter of facts. Definitely will be a return customer here. read more

After taking my car to Brake Master's in Green Valley for an oil change I was recommended to have my back brakes replaced and that there was a gasket leak. I said I'd wait and was able to get into Dave's for a second opinion. Dave's was highly recommended and the parking lot was overflowing with cars to be worked on. I was told I needed back brake pads only and that no leak could be found. So my Toyota Rav4 2015 was repaired for $250 instead of the $950 that I was quoted at Brake Masters! Service did take two hours but the job was done and my car was also checked over for an upcoming trip. I am thrilled to have found an honest and reputable auto repair service in the area! read more

Our company vehicle got a bad tire leak. During my workday I went to every other shop in Green Valley including the local dealer where the vehicle was purchased . Being that it was a Saturday and very busy they all pretty much blew me off and told me to come back Monday or later in the day. My last hope was Dave's Tire and Auto. Michelle came through and went above and beyond that day when all others failed. They fixed our company vehicle in a very short time and I was back on the road. I've brought our private vehicle in for service in the past and Michelle has always been great. She genuinely cares about her customers and treats them with the upmost respect. Being that Green Valley is mostly a retirement community it's so easy to get ripped off. Having an establishment like Dave's Tire and Auto with Michelle at the helm is very reassuring and I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle in for service and recommend everyone else to do so as well. Dave and his techs do a super job at a fair price. Honest and thorough too. You really feel like their primary mission is to do the best job for you. This shop is so good I travel from Tucson to Green Valley to use it. Small price for piece of mind and great work. My old truck hasn't run this well for years. It got so bad, I quit driving it. "Too old, nothing you can do with it," I was told by my lazy past tech that I had used for years. I hated to drive it. Not anymore. Here's an added bene: Dave rents Hertz cars at a reasonable price. Michelle is the best! She is the office manager at Dave's and she goes above and beyond to help you out. And she remembers everything and everyone. Dave is lucky to have someone as capable and caring as Michelle. I used to have a car that gave me so many and I was constantly at the shop; Michelle always helped me out with finding reasonable options for parts and service. I had written a review on 10/11/2020, about the bad experience I had with an oil change that basically forced me into trading my car in. The owner Dave attempted to contact me twice in which I was unavailable at the time. I have attempted to return his calls and even sent a text and no reply. I seriously doubt that they will waste their time in responding to the fact, that I was requesting that I be reimbursed the money charged for the oil change , the oil cap and the charges I faced from having my car towed to their shop. I feel that is the least they could do since that oil change cost me not only those costs, but the 3,000 dollars I lost on having to trade in the car that I did not have any intention of doing. I took the car into the dealer to have it looked at for a second opinion because I could not risk the damages that were done to the engine after it ran out of oil and was told that they had checked out the engine and it was fine. In picking up the car and driving to the dealer , the car started making a funny noise and gray smoke coming out the back, it was clear to me that it was going to start being a problem. I would not recommend this company for an oil change on any of the newer cars. Take it to the dealership it will costs you less in the long run. read more

Really know what customer service is here. Went in with low oil in my car. They were very busy but Michelle said could top it up. In the end in their busy day found the time to make sure the car was serviced. Very knowledgeable friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. read more

I went to David's first time today with a battery issue. They tested my batteries found out it was drained. They charge my battery quickly and only charged me $20. What I was more impressed with what their dealings with other customers as I waited. A young mother came in with about a two-year-old daughter and her car was overheating they quickly corrected that problem identified she had bald tires and worked with her husband to cut a deal on some tires that they could afford. I would recommend this shop in a heart beat. read more

Just in the area of Green Valley on personal business. Heading back to CA soon. Noticed a low tire yesterday, so added air. Tire was low again this morning. One of the neighbors suggested Dave's down the street on Continental, so I headed down there. They were busy, but Michele, the Mgr, had Chris, one of the techs, pull the tire and check it out. Found a nail. In less than 30 mins the tire was repaired and I was back on the road. If I need any future car maintenance or tire repairs while in Green Valley, this is the place I will go. THE ONLY shop in Green Valley that has EVER touched my car. noun: "the action of helping or doing work for someone." verb: "perform routine maintenance or repair work on (a vehicle or machine)." Dave is both a verb & noun at the same time. Dave's has changed my oil (rotating the tires every 2nd time included), replaced HVAC door actuators, rebuilt my transmission, replaced my rack & pinion (that was under warranty), fixed a flat, when the "low air pressure" indicator message comes on, I pull in & they check the air in all four tires. As if the quality service & parts they offer didn't make them #1 go to place for all of your automotive needs, they also are a Hertz rental location. The last thing anyone wants is to find their car won't start, especially when traveling away from home. This happened to me. I live in Colorado and drove my 2003 Range Rover down to surprise my daughter on her 25th birthday. Halfway through the drive, my service engine light came on. The next day, it wouldn't start. I checked fuses and hoses and put a battery charger on Range. The charge helped me get it to Dave's. My mom recommended Dave's Tire and Auto shop as a place to start, and I am so glad she did. I canceled my appointment in December with Range Rover of Tucson, left Range here, and now I am getting ready to drive him back to Colorado. They chased an electrical issue and repaired it. My daughter will now go here too with a Subaru. Our family is dedicated to this shop! Look no further if you are looking for honest, hardworking people who care about people. I decided to try a local small business that was advertised on my grocery store receipt. I had an oil change done. I asked if they could lock up the car since I had to work past their closing time. I finally picked up the car about 7pm or so. My car was left unlocked and windows were down. The keys were nowhere to be found! I took the car since I had already prepaid for the service. When I returned the next morning, they acted like nothing was wrong. So much for supporting the small business! read more

If I could give a rating of zero stars, I would. STEER CLEAR of this business. They are unethical, hire (and fire) poor mechanics, and have lousy customer service since they moved to the new location. Their ability to correctly diagnosis a problem is poor, even with diagnostic equipment! If you happen to have a mechanical problem they can't fix (or one they created), they refuse to address it. In the end, you may have many things replaced that didn't need to be. Calling, showing up in person... nothing works. They simply don't get back to you. My husband and I broke down just outside of Green Valley. These guys called a tow truck for us and had us in the shop by 430 p.m. They close the shop at 5. They were able to refer us to a lovely local hotel where we stayed the night. The next morning they picked us up and they had the truck up and running. They couldn't guarantee the service because they needed a part that couldn't come in until Monday. Amazingly they didn't charge us for anything! We were able to get home safely. Too bad you have to even leave one star. Total fail on all levels when it comes to the end to end experience. This Hertz location is part of the Dave Polsky Tire & Auto Center in Green Valley. I don't know if that's part of the problem. None the less the experience my oldest daughter had with getting a rental car after she had the misfortune of an accident that totaled her car reminded me of why I do not choose Hertz when given the choice. Let's start with actually acquiring the car. I work throughout the week so Saturday was the only day I was going to be able to help her get the car. The hours posted on their website said they were open til 1:00 pm. It was only by calling to see if the car was ready that we found out they closed at 11:00. We had to completely rearrange a lot of scheduled things to get there in time. When we walked in, the lady at the counter acts completely clueless about the fact that we were going to be there picking up a car. There was another couple in the lobby and I'm guessing they were there for an insurance rental too. She makes a knowing comment about the fact that the store never gets notified about these kind of things. But after some minimal searching she manages to find our paperwork. It's all hard copy paperwork. I guess this location doesn't rank for any technology from Hertz. Before she can start us on filling out the paperwork, a customer needing work done from the Midas store walks in. Does she get us started on paperwork? No, or course not. She stops working with us completely. Greets customer...yells at guys in shop about his issue...diverts for a good 20 minutes before she gets back to us. She starts to work with us again and guess what??? Yep another customer comes in, this time to pick up a car. Can you guess? You are so smart. Yes, once again she diverts from us to assist him. Finally she gets us through all the paperwork and walks us out to the car. We look over the car and other than a missing hub cap and designating no smoking on fhe checkout forms, the car seemed ok on the outside. My daughter finally had her rental car. The inside though obviously hadn't been looked at when returned, because garbage from the previous renter was still in the car. That's what makes the next part so unbelievably insane. My daughter found a replacement car, so she returned the rental car yesterday. That's time a man was in charge of the return. He went over the car, which was fine on the outside. He marked off two things. One, he is trying to add 100 for interior damage because of dog hair. First, no animals were in that car at anytime. Second, the only possible dog hair that could be on the car could be off the shoes. How much could that possibly be? Certainly not enough to make it worthy of "interior damage". Given the fact that they didn't care enough to clean the car before we got it, I don't understand how they could suddenly be so concerned now. But I have a hypotheses which I will reveal shortly. Second, he told her that she didn't bring it back full and that Hertz was going to charge her $10 a gallon to fill it up. She was so worried about that, that she actually left and went to the gas station close by to fill it up. It took $1.00 worth of gas to "fill" it up...yeah, that's right, $1.00. Whew...dodged that bullet. So here is where it gets, in my humble opinion, disgusting beyond words. My daughter has disabilities that are not completely discreet. She manages very well, but an observant eye would notice. In my not so humble opinion, this was a case of bullying and harassment. The gentleman and I use that term loosely, who looked over the car must have noticed and as such decided that she wouldn't fight it. Why not try to gain a few cheap bucks from the deal. So Hertz...you get a big fat zero from me for this review of this location. I wish I could say this is the only bad experience I've had with Hertz, but sadly I can't. It's why you will never, ever be my first choice in a rental car company. I'd choose Eddie's Sleezy Cheap Rentals first. No wait...even better. I'll give my SSN to a guy on Craigslist first. I have to add one last thing...if this is any indication of the service at this shop...Run away!!! read more

Took car in for an oil change - completed quickly - started home and every warning light possible came on - took it back. It took the mechanics all of two minutes to determine that there was major pack rat damage to the wiring. In addition there was a problem that Nissan had sent out a Service Bulletin - which really means there is something wrong with the car but we are not paying for it - something short of a recall. Anyway two and half days later car is fixed. Michelle and her crew did a terrific job fixing the car and it runs great. She kept me informed of the progress. They did the work for a very good price - It was very stressful and the last thing you want to hear is that there is a problem with the wiring somewhere on a computerized car. THANKS guys. read more

Dave, Michelle and everyone else there are amazing and definitely go above and beyond to get the job done! I am new to the area and had no family near by so of course when my car started overheating suddenly I didn't know where to take it. Looked on yelp, found this place and gave them a call. Ashley answered and was super helpful, told me to bring it in ASAP and they would find out the problem for me. When I TRIED to take my car to their shop it quickly overheated on the freeway and I didn't feel comfortable continuing to drive any further... so I pulled over and shut off my car on the side of the freeway( yes in the az heat with no air conditioning and ALSO had my two small kids in the backseat). I called the shop again and this time Michelle answered, once she realized where I was stuck and that I had my two babies with me she quickly sent out one of her tow trucks to come and get me. Lalo showed up rather quickly and offered us waters while we waited for him to hook my car up which was very nice. Got to the shop and of course Michelle was again so nice to me and my kids while we waited for them to figure out what was wrong with my car, only took about 20 minutes til they knew. With a guarantee they would have my car finished the following day, I then told her I had no way of getting home.. no problem for them! She made a call and out comes the owner who takes me and my kids home himself, so helpful and polite he also came right back the next day and picked me up to take me to pick up my car! Another thing is they were aware I had to get my husband from the airport in the evening of the following day and worked extra hard to get my car done in time for me. I cant thank everyone there enough for all the effort that was put in! It's one thing to be good at your job and run a good business, but everyone here really has the customers best interest in mind and tries their best, from the mechanics, the manager and all the way to the owner himself. I definitely picked the right place and me and my husband agreed we will be coming here for all work related to our vehicles now. read more

Dave Polsky has provided us with reliable, excellent auto repair and maintenance services and tires for many years. So we recently went to Dave Polsky for replacement tires after we saw a TV news story that reminded us about the dangers of riding on worn or older tires. Our car is aging, and so were its original tires, which were made more than 6 years ago from their code dates the Mechanic showed us. There were also cracks and signs of aging. Safety is always very important to us, so we immediately bought new tires from Dave. We are very pleased with them. The price was good, and Dave was very helpful, as always. During my time in their waiting room, it was really nice to see how very professional and pleasant Michelle was in helping customers, and also how there is a friendly "hometown" atmosphere there. Dave and Michelle are very knowledgeable, professional, and thorough in explaining what needs to be done. The prices are very fair. And they make every customer feel that they sincerely care about solving whatever problem brought them to Dave's.
