The car also needed rear brakes and a repair to the rear axle (which Tucson Hybrids replaced free of charge). My entire experience from start to finish was incredible. They tried to recommend replacing rear struts which my vehicle did not need because I took car to another shop where they showed me. Nothing critical. Do not use this shop. Thanks to Tucson Hybrids for making my Ford Focus Electric alive again. Had a monsoon boating incident at Broadway/wilmot. Lots of water during the monsoon downpour 7/17/23. Drove through the intersection and water was a little deep. Wrench light came on, drove the rest of the way home and after the rain stopped tried to turn car on and got the red triangle. Had it towed to Jim Click Ford the next day and they just don't want business and can't tell the truth for four days. I called Tucson Hybrid they said tow it over and they'd get on it. The got it on Monday the 24th and I had it back on Friday the 28th. They totally keep you informed by text and email. You get to see the codes the mechanic gets. You know the costs and authorize them right in the text or email as the work progresses. Seems straight up and honest to me. TUCSON HACKBRIDS!!!! One picture is Tucson Hybrid's idea of installing my heater core. The picture was taken by the Toyota Mechanic at Desert Toyota after I had it towed there, and shows exactly how he found it; THE HEATER CORE HOSE IS COMPLETELY OFF ON ONE SIDE, and the clamp is to far down on the other hose; it would have popped off if the one that did hadn't. It was Saturday so I had to rent a car until Tuesday so that I could still do my delivery gig work for Amazon, Instacart, and Gopuff. I paid the Toyota mechanic more than $500 to attach the hoses correctly. Tucson hybrids won't even talk to me. The mechanic (Pricilla) told me to stop calling them because I mentioned taking them to court when they first resisted culpability. She actually tried to blame ME!!!!!! She said it was my fault for not letting her change my spark plugs and a bunch of other things, including my trunk lock switch!!! Things that were just that unrelated to the coolant system! The other picture is the error code that I got on my car 4 hours after the last time that I picked it up before this incident; when they performed a "Comprehensive Diagnostic". The code is for incorrect air/fuel mixture. This is the code you get when some crackpot mechanic DOESN'T PUT YOU AIR FILTER COVER BACK ON RIGHT. I almost had to call a tow truck in the middle of my Amazon delivery block. 45 minutes from home. The only thing that saved me is that I have an aftermarket car stereo with an error code reader so I was able to google the issue. Other things that they did not connect properly the first time include the rear view camera, error code reader, steering wheel media controls, and the molding pillar between the windshield and the passenger window (just hanging, unclipped from the car). The steering wheel media controls, and the error code reader are STILL not connected. They did send me a lame excuse about not understanding the wiring behind the dash. this is because I had my alpine stereo professionally installed and Tucson Hybrids has NO BUSINESS behind a dashboard at all if they cannot handle the presence of a professionally (Bill at Audio 2000 on 22nd in Tucson) installed Alpine receiver. the hardest part about this was having to go to my Father and admit that he was right; no matter how sweet the price and time line they promised, I SHOULD NEVER HAVE AGREED TO LET THEM DO THE HEATER CORE TO BEGIN WITH AFTER THE INCIDENT WITH THE AIR FILTER COVER. Will make it short story. My 2010 Prius and all of sudden start ti give me "P Lock Malfunction" error message which the car can not recognize that the transmission is in P position. Basically the car is not turning off or on and stuck at the middle. I found Tucson Hybrids and went there. Talked to them about this error and they said they will run a full diagnostic to find the error. I asked them if they can figure it out what is wrong with it and they confidently said "yes. No matter what we will find the error as we have a very good experience with this error". Asked them how much it will cost, they said $80. I trust them and towed my car next day to there shop. After 2 days, they send me an estimate of $1440! $1000 for some maintenance that I never asked them like oil change, break fluid flush, and other things. $440 more to do another diagnostic, really? And what did I get for the first diagnostic?! Thry told me it is "miscommunication with the computer " really! I already know that. I paid them the $80 but they did nothing, they said "we did spend 2 days diagnostic"! That is not my job, I gave you a car and you told me for $80 we will know what is wrong with the car. they even did not get the interior component back as it was before. Conclusion: they are not a professional. They can do maintenance or replace something on the car but when it comes to diagnostic, they have no idea what are they doing. Please, if you do not know how to troubleshoot an issue, then please do not take the job. You wast my time and money. You get paid, but I did not get what I paid for. Quite possibly one of the worst owned businesses I've ever had the displeasure of going to. In early 2021we purchased a refurbished hybrid battery from them with a 3 year warranty. Fast forward to now, June 2022, the hybrid battery cells aren't holding a charge, causing the engine to work harder, causing our gas to be used quicker. Of course the battery being under warranty, we took it in to be replaced. Let me just say, whoever the lady is who decides when and when not to pick up the company phone is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. We go to drop it off but no one is in the office, our calls keep getting declined, and finally when someone does answer, she says that the shop door was supposed to be locked and no one was there but told us to drive around the back to the bay to knock on the door and the technician will answer and take our keys Fast forward a few days, we get a TEXT saying "there's no light on but we'll drive it to see if we can get the light on" ... the issue was never a light being present in the car, it was the hybrid battery we purchased from them.. We provide them with proof of the dying cells and thats the last we heard that day. Next day, we call and call and call and both my husband and I's calls get declined time and time again, I ask my mom to call and the phone is picked up first ring. Had a feeling they were avoiding our numbers and ignoring our calls. They tell us that nothing is wrong with the battery but XYZ is wrong with the car. Never would we go to this shop if it wasn't to get a new battery under their warranty. Today we pick up a car with no new warranty battery, no call backs, no communication from an owner, only TEXT MESSAGES This business is exteremly unprofessional and I advise you to go anywhere but here for your car needs. My car had a dc/dc converter issue. Dealerships were charging $140 for diagnostic. These people are great it was only $80 for diagnostic and it goes towards the price of having the work done. The mechanic is very nice as well. He really knows what he is doing and gets it done very quickly. This is my go to place for now on. read more

I ignored some of the bad reviews, and still took it to Tucson Hybrids, worst mistake. took my vehicle there September for a diagnostic, discussed the diagnostic the days after coming to a conclusion that it would be 1100, when I came back 2 weeks later ready for my car appointment they informed me it would be 1470! I still complied because I needed my vehicle to be okay and I didn't want more issues with it. They cut my oxygen sensor without my permission, still charged me for the labor told me I would have to replace my entire manifold and gasket (they never mentioned it would be an issue to fix). A week later my vehicle broke down AGAIN with the same issue and signal. Tucson Hybrids said it was not related to the work they had done and left it at that. NO WARRANTY!! waste of money, Lack of knowledge! go to real shop do not believe their lies. I was charged $1500 and told they changed 12-14 cells of my battery. less than one week later car was failing again. after researching on my own and finding a real hybrid battery shop. i was told by multiple places that with that many failed cells its pointless and wasteful to replace them, since ones that remain will most likely fail as well. for that amount of money i bought a $1600 New Hybrid Battery, with Unlimited Miles and 4 years warranty. If i wanted it install it was another $200 and they do it in 1 hour. with black friday discount -$300 off. I payed the exact same but my car has been doing 48-53mpg when before it was 35mpg even AFTER they "fixed" it and charged me $1500. Sadder part, when i called to say my car was dead 2 days after they fixed it. The guy kept on telling me bring it in and we will diagnose it. when i repeated over 5 times that car was completely dead, had triangle of doom on the dash. and i could not move it. on top. They wanted to Charge me for "new" diagnostic. Sad little mans dream of scamming good people out of their money. once you see were their shop is and how their office looks you will know what i mean. to do proper repairs and service on hybrid batteries you need specialized machines that they dont have. even their so call "super diagnostic laptop" is a pirated version of StreamTech software odb2 connector that toyota dealer uses. save yourself. save your money. I was told by toyota that my only option was to replace my hybrid battery for $5,000. Thankfully a friend sent me a link to Tucson Hybrids. They came to my dad's house where my car had been sitting for 4 months. Took my hybrid battery on Friday fixed it and reinstalled it Tuesday right in the driveway. Way less money, way more convenient, and it's running great. Truly a blessing or I would probably still be driving dad's gas hog truck. My car broke down and we assumed it was the hybrid battery.We have it towed to Tucson Hybrid. had to reach out to them the next day to give me an update. They said they would call me back. Hours later they called and said they changed out the 12V battery without my approval. I said I didn't approve any work to be done. They said the tech did it anyways. All i wanted to hear was the diagnostic results I paid for. I never got them. They said the good news is that the hybrid battery is good but they can't figure out what's wrong with the car. I have it towed to the dealership and the hybrid battery has been shot and the engine. So they specialize in hybrid batteries and they said mine was ok! They wanted to charge me labor as well.
