Their mechanics do marginal work and their pricing structure is exorbitant. You expect to pay a premium for quality work, but here you pay a premium for marginal work and the "privilege" of returning to get it right. My car was towed to Ooroo for overheating issues. They gave me an estimate of $4000. I called around to other auto shops, who told me that estimate was ridiculously high (eventually got the work done for $2500 at another shop). When I tried to have my car towed from Ooroo (so I could take it to another shop), they would not relinquish my keys until I paid $44.00 for the estimate. Short version: they gave me a sky-high estimate and then held my car hostage until I paid to get my keys back. read more

We called him on short notice, and although he promised us he would get it done by Wednesday at the latest, he had it done the same day I brought it in. He was thorough & efficient, and I was very pleased with the result. I'd scheduled another oil change and general condition inspection. An email appointment reminder appeared on the morning of service. Unfortunately, when I arrived at 0745 the appointment didn't show on the Ooroo computer system. But they did fit me in with their usual courtesy and "customer first" attitude. I'd mounted my bike on the car carrier and rode it home. In the afternoon when the car was ready it was 106F, too hot to bike, so an Ooroo shuttle picked me up and drove me to the shop. Again, great attitude. While I was paying for the service John noticed that my appointment was in fact in the customer dataset but not in the Ooroo schedule dataset. A project for their systems guy. Overall, another good experience with Ooroo...especially since they honored the email discount coupon I forgot to bring. read more

As a new resident to Green Valley in May of this year I selected OOROO as the auto repair shop to complete oil change due on 2017 Audi A4 Quattro. When I called to schedule my appointment John was very professional. Arrived at the location and met Joy at the reception area who was a pure delight in helping check me in. I waited for my oil change and the area for clients has snacks, coffee, water and other amenties and the entire office area and waiting room was spotless and even free internet so I could connect with work.. Completed the free auto check and was told I was good to go... I will go back for the next scheduled service.. First time customer. went in for diagnostics which addressed the problem that was pre existing but I went ahead with Oromo because of the positive feedbacks from other customers. i could not ask for better service. Staff was courteous and gave me a ride to and from the facility. Nobody in Green Valley offers this service if you have to leave your car overnight. I took my car in because I thought I had a leak from going over a curb. They said I had no fluid leaks, but needed front struts and rear shocks. I got their estimate for struts and then called Brake Max and the dealer. Both Brake Max and the dealer were $500 cheaper than Ooroo. I took my car to the dealer to have a recalled part replaced and asked them to check the struts and shocks. They said they are fine. Be wary before diving into a car repair without doing some research. read more

For starters, during covid, for hickeys to pair with ooroo was a big chance and a big change... But it's a 5 star deal because they put one of my favorite hickey techies on the ooroo brigade!!! Dylan has serviced both of my trucks over the years, so you dear readers, can't imagine how happy I am that he is on the job!!!! He already was familiar with Silver, my Chevy to the point that i just let him go and get r done!! To be honest, as long as Dylan is here, im getting home service. Not a drop of fluid spilled, not even a crumb or dead bug on the driveway... In 105 degree heat, nonetheless!!! Everything was checked, topped off, and because he almost always has been my service dude, no surprises. A literal genius in his field... Please avoid this place at all costs! I got a check engine light on my vehicle for a misfire and they charged me $140 just to tell me that I have a blown head gasket and recommended to just buy a whole new engine! The Toyota only has 148K miles! They claimed I had coolant in my cylinders. I went next door to Saguaro Automotive and they charged me $75 to do exactly what OOROO claimed they did. The mechanic at Saguaro told me that autozone sold me the wrong spark plugs and he replaced them. He even fixed my VSC/TRC light that was turning on the dash that I didn't ask to fix. Overall, if you're in the area go to Saguaro. This is my first ever review and I hate how much of scamming they're doing to the people in the area. It's unfair and should be illegal! Not happy with my experience at Hickey Automotive. They were very nice at the front desk and phone customer service, but made up for it in excessive charges and poor diagnosis. I came to them as an "out-of-town" new customer to inspect my car for reasons why it was running at higher than normal radiator temperatures, but not over heating. I also mentioned that I recently took the car to JiffyLube for an oil change and they informed me that the battery was bad. I did not replace the battery there, but asked Hickey to test the battery just to double check. Hickey quoted me $9.99 to inspect the car for these problems. Later in the day I received a call that they solved the over heating problem and all I needed was a new radiator cap. They also said that JiffyLube was right, I needed a new battery. Their quoted price over the phone was no more than $100. I said that price was OK but to call me if it would be anything more than $100. Never got that call. At the end of the day I was a little shocked to find that I was charged $132 for my battery plus $19 to install it, $28 for the radiator cap and $49 for the vehicle inspection that was originally quoted at $9.99. On the drive back home, my car ran exactly the same with high water temperature so their diagnosis was not accurate. When I checked online for the price of the cap I paid $28 for, I found it at most parts stores for between $6 and $8 for a Ford MotorCraft part. For comparison I called my local dealer and I could buy the cap from them for $12. I now think that I should have waited to replace that battery since I think they took my Jiffy Lube story and used it to their advantage. Long story short, get all quotes in writing from this shop and double check parts pricing before paying the bill. read more
