Extremely Disappointed - Dishonest, Overpriced, and Poor Workmanship…read more I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with BrakeMax was so frustrating and disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff was more interested in upselling unnecessary services than actually addressing the issues I came in for. They insisted that my transmission fluid was black and needed replacing, that my serpentine belt was cracked, and that my spark plugs and coolant needed urgent replacement--not to mention the supposed urgency of having matching hub caps. Here's the problem: I had already recently replaced the transmission fluid, coolant, and spark plugs elsewhere. When I questioned them about the serpentine belt, they claimed it was cracked. I asked them to show me the cracks, and unsurprisingly, they couldn't point out a single one. Unfortunately, I did agree to have them replace my front brake pads and rotors, which cost me $700--a price I later learned was excessive for just the front brakes. Even worse, I had to take my car to another mechanic shortly after because the work BrakeMax did was sloppy and unsafe. I was informed that the rotors they installed were warped and appeared rusted and old, which explains the ongoing issues I had with braking after the service. BrakeMax claims to value customer feedback. They claim to provide exceptional customer service and fair, transparent pricing. My experience proves otherwise. I found them dishonest, overpriced, and careless with the quality of their work. If BrakeMax chooses to respond to this review, I hope it's not with a copy-paste apology or an invitation to "discuss my experience further" in private. I've already spoken with your staff--you had your chance to make it right, and you chose not to.

I believe they did a good job on my car. The reason I did not give five stars is that I had to change my daughters #2 dirty diapers twice and in the men's restroom there is no changing table. I don't know if that was the case for the women's restroom, but I am a man, and that is not my place to be. I know this issue is out of the hands of most people working at that location, but the one who has the power to make a change, there is plenty of space in the means room to add the table. I would rather not take six sheets of toilet seat covers to create a safe space on the floor. I am not saying this angrily, just saying that it would be nice. No issues with idiot light (other than resetting maintenance date), but did find I was bone dry (extreme minimum) for oil. Imagine my surprise, as a well-known auto dealer had recently serviced my vehicle under warranty! Blake was kind enough to top me off to ensure my engine doesn't seize, and if it wasn't for the fact that I have to return to the dealer to get this issue resolved, Big O Tires would be my #1 place to get service (I've had other services done here with optimal results!) I hate to do this but this is the second time this shop has let me down with a simple oil change…read more I made an appointment online last week and then a little while later received an email say there was something wrong with my appointment, and they would contact me. No one ever called, text, or emailed me to reschedule. I called back the morning of my appointment and was put on hold for over 5 minutes. I called back and he tried to put me on hold again. I understand you can be busy, but I just needed to know what was going on with my appointment. He stated that he had a customer and was busy, and my appointment was probably canceled, but that was enough for me. The first incident was last year for my oil change and tire rotation they did my oil change and called to ask me if I want new air filters, but when I went to get my car they said they could not unlock my tires for the rotation. I asked why they didn't ask me about that on the call to up-sale me and I could have told them it was in with the spare tire. So yeah unfortunately I am done with this shop, sorry.
