Dorothy and Manny are everything the reviews say! Over this weekend of frozen weather we had pipes freeze so when we woke up with no heat today I panicked. Wow. All I can say is this company is amazing!! I had gotten an estimate from a previous company and they quoted me almost $20,000 and told me I needed my air conditioning and hot water heater replaced! I called Davey, and Dorothy was so kind and helpful over the phone and talked to me for about 20 minutes and talking me through everything I had concerns about. There was a technician on the phone as well, they were telling me to try a few things before they came out and looked at it. They were so patient and kind as I was sending them photos of my unit. They were not pushy or trying to get me to just buy a whole air conditioning unit. I tried what they had told me, and it did end up needing need to get a new air conditioning unit. she was so helpful in explaining everything and how it will work, and my option as well! She told me that I might not need to replace everything and we would start by just replacing the unit and not all of the pipes! Thank goodness, because I didn't end up needing everything replaced in the end! I ended up paying less than half of what I was quoted from the other company, and I believe they did a much better job than the other company would have! My unit is so nice, and quiet! They were quick to get it installed, and everything was so easy in communicating with them, as I know nothing about this!! They were extremely professional, and such nice people!! Manny has come out to check on my boiler a couple times. The first just to check that it was in working order with the upcoming heating season. Most recently, when a zone valve failed. Both times he gave me pointers on keeping this system working and this time went so far as to show me how I could order a part and perform a straight forward fix myself. My wife and I were house sitting for her parents in Englewood while they were on a long road trip (retirement must be nice). We thought we were going to have a great little vacation ourselves and escape the Southern California heat when, a few days in, the weather spiked into the high 90's! Of course, at the most inconvenient time, we started to notice that despite the AC running all day the house wasn't cooling down. We put our hands in front of the vents and the air wasn't cold at all! Not sure what to do, we called my in laws and asked who we should call. They just retired to the area so they didn't have a trusted air condition repair guy they've heard of or have used in the past, and we weren't super familiar with the area either so we do what we would do for everything else and headed to Yelp! We pulled a bunch of numbers from our Yelp search and started calling. Out of everyone we called, Davey Heating and Air Conditioning seemed to be the most reasonable and reliable. They had a ton of great reviews on Yelp and could send out a service tech that day! Our service tech Zach showed up by late afternoon, was super friendly and helpful and, after taking a look at the condenser outside and the ac/furnace unit inside, walked us through the issues that were going on with the air conditioner. Luckily it was nothing outlandishly crazy and the price he quoted was extremely reasonable. Zach was prepared with all the parts and tools he needed to make the fix and, within a couple hours, he had tuned up the AC system and made the repair. Cold air flowed once more from our vents and we were happy to finally cool off! My in laws were happy when they got back that they didn't have to live through the 95 degree weather with no AC, and the bill we had for them wasn't too high! I'm happy to report that there haven't been any further problems since our service call. My furnace went out overnight and they were all booked up for the day but were willing to talk to me on the phone and walk me through all the steps and tests to see if I could get it working myself. Had a new ac/furnace installed back in Feb. I had some issues at the time, when the owner found out he contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. Which at that point I had new equipment so there wasn't much to do rectify the issue. The owner kept in contact for several months to see if there was anything that could be done. And finally there was. The customer wasn't satisfied and he did everything he could to change that. Something highly valued in today's day. I called Manuel at 5:30 PM with a leaking AC soaking our basement. I thought maybe I'd get a call back the next day but he offered to come out THAT NIGHT! He was there by 6:30 and out by 8 after cleaning a dirty drain pan. What really put his service over the edge is that he explained to me what caused the problem (lack of maintenance) and how to prevent it again. He came back the next day to install a valve that will shut the AC down if it senses the unit not draining properly. He also showed me (a minimally competent homeowner) the gas shut off and emergency electrical switch to power off the unit if needed. That was above and beyond and we have our HVAC company for life now! read more

Update: I'm changing the review to 3 stars because both partners contacted me and offered his sincere apologies. They took ownership of their own actions and offered to provide the service. Their approach was nothing but humble and sincere. Unfortunately, we already have 2 companies set to come and do estimates. 8 days was a long time. I appreciate their call back but this was only after I left a bad review. Unfortunately, cannot speak on their quality work, general customer service, etc. I would give them a second chance if I were to need their services. ---------------------------------------------- I contacted this company to get an estimate and request a visit. The person that answered my inquiry contacted me right away but to my amazement, he was very short on his answers. I expected more from a company with such high rating but I guess I did not catch them in a good mood. I own a small duplex and I am looking for options on where to place an A/C unit outside and the price it will incur. Also, it is a historic house and an estimate through the phone without having looked at the property seems a bit rushed and inaccurate. When we were in the middle of the conversation, he abruptly ended the call by saying, "let me call you later." Well, I expected a call back right away but it's been 8 days since we last spoke...I guess I will be hearing back from them when they read this. Very unprofessional. read more

These guys were great! My HVAC system stopped working and I wasn't sure if it was a simple fix or something larger. The owner called me back immediately and walked me through some troubleshooting, and we determined I needed a new thermostat. When I got the new thermostat, he walked me through the steps to replace the old one and install the new one. Now I'm up and running again, less than 3 hours after my initial call to their team! He could have easily come out and charged the $120 min fee, but instead just walked me through the DIY fix, free of charge. So, I don't leave reviews very often but I really had to on this last experience. We are in a heat wave in Denver and my wife and I have some rentals. One of them is rented by family as they work in the hospital and finishing a residency. I received a phone call that the a/c just stopped working and we were going into the weekend of over 100°. I called 4 different companies considering that they would all be incredibly busy and hoping someone would be able to find the time. One company just kept me on hold, another answered and was complaining about how tired she was and kept getting the information wrong (which when we called back to cancel, they didn't have us in the schedule), the next company actually put us on a window from 2-4 the next day which I realized after the fact had a 2 star rating because of dishonesty and ripping people off. The last one I called was Davey Heating and Air. The woman answered and was very polite, asked for my info and a description of the issue and then said Larry would be calling me , said thank you and then she hung up. Btw- this is at 8:00 pm. The next morning Larry calls. Very nice and professional and he asked me what's happening. I explain to him, he says I will be there before lunch, gets there at 10:30 in the morning and then call me and says there is a bunch of build up around the unit and it needs an acid wash, ($250/Cheap!), Does the wash and the a/c comes back on. He leaves, and then I get a call from daughter-in-law and says a/c stopped again! I'm like great, but ask her to call Larry back. Larry actually comes back out a couple hours later and does more research, finds the additional issue, fixes it at no charge and the a/c is working great and then gives me pointers on what I can do to prevent these things in the future!! I couldn't believe the level of service and integrity this company and Larry had! Thank God I found them! No wonder they have over 150 reviews at 5 stars! So, long story short, if you need HVAC issues resolved from an honest company, call Davey Heating and Air and ask for Larry!! Like others, I found Davey Heating & Air Conditioning after my initial contractor/repairman failed to show up at any of the THREE TIMES we designated. Sent Davey Heating & Air Conditioning a request for a repair quote on Yelp and received a response within 20 minutes. Within a day we scheduled a time and day for them to send out a technician to come and take a look at our AC unit. Being an old unit, they were upfront in telling me that any services made now would not be beneficial but still provided a temporary band-aid to get it working for the rest of the summer season. With that being said, they also gave us a quote on how much it would cost to replace our outdated unit with a more current and more efficient unit for our house. The technicians were knowledgeable and didn't have a pushy attitude on making us get a replacement unit right away (the method that some bigger name services tend to use). They also provided us a packaged quote on replacing our furnace as well at the same time. I appreciate it when services show up and call with a heads up letting me know they are on their way. I also appreciate it when they tell me the truth at the beginning. We are currently looking at options for a Furnace/AC replacement but rest assured, Davey Heating & Air Conditioning are at the top of our list. read more

Found Davey through Yelp after my previous HVAC vendor did not return phone calls. Got great service! 1) Got a call back from Larry a technician same day I called. His first goal was to solve my problem over the phone if possible, but troubleshooting revealed a visit would be needed. 2) Larry set a time window of 9-11am the NEXT DAY, a SATURDAY, for an on-site visit. At 9am I got a call from him telling me he was on the way. 3) He diagnosed problem in 5 minutes (needed Freon), had everything he needed in truck, and had the AC working in a few minutes! Fee was reasonable and straightforward. What more can you ask for?! Will definitely call Larry next time! read more

Manuel was awesome!! I needed a complete inspection and service done to my HVAC system in the townhouse I am selling and he came out quickly and did a wonderful job. He did a thorough inspection of the furnace, AC and blower as well as checked the carbon monoxide levels in the mechanical room and the rest of the house. He also inspected the AC condenser that was on the roof and insulated the cold refrigeration line. All this was done for a VERY reasonable price. In fact, I kept trying to spend more, but he told me the system simply didn't need further servicing. That's what I call looking out for the customer!! I am disappointed in this company. I need a boiler replaced for my home baseboard heating. Without seeing the job site they gave me a quote of $15,000. I had questions about the venting of the new boiler and asked them to come take a look before the installation date. He choose the day and I was available all day except for the noon hour. Well, he call me at 12:30 and said this was the only time he could stop by. So that didn't work and he gave me no other options. So the day of the installation arrived and he showed up with the boiler. As you might expect, there were issues with the venting so we could not do the install. I asked them to give me a couple of days to check on a few items. Manny then started complaining about how he was going to have to return the boiler unit, and they sent me an invoice for $2500. Which I did not pay. 2 days after the cancelled install I called them back to let them know that everything was ready and we could proceed. Again, Manny complained that I had really messed up their schedule the other day and now wanted $4000 before they would come back for the install. I reminded him that I had asked them to stop by before the installation and they had refused. He didn't like that very much. He told me to have a nice day and hung up. I will not be doing business with this company. read more

Great company! Great service! Very professional and very efficient! Highly recommended! I wanted to have the air conditioning installed in my house. After checking a few companies on Yelp, I called this company at 8 on Thursday morning. Dorothy immediately answered, wrote down my request and contacted her team. A few minutes later, she called me back asking for more details. I found out that my furnace was too old for installing an AC. It was going to cost more than I thought but I'm glad that we had just received the Biden stimulus check. In any case, after accepting their services, Manuel came to the house and checked the configuration of our house to pick up the right parts. I thought that changing the electrical panel, the furnace and installing the AC would take at least a week and they would be able to do it only in a month. But fortunately, I called them in May when they are not super booked yet. They were able to come the next day, Friday. They replaced the electrical panel and the furnace in one day and they were able to finish the installation of the AC on the following Monday. The furnace and the AC immediately worked amazingly well. I was even shocked that the AC wasn't louder. It is not too far from our bedroom and we can barely hear it at all during the day or at night. If we have any issue with our water heater, furnace or AC in the future, I will not hesitate to contact this company again. read more

Our furnace was acting up during an exceptionally cold Sunday. I was given a call back after not being able to speak to anyone in-person, presumably, as many others were having issues. I was told a tech would call me shortly after explaining the issue. The tech had me text a couple photos as he wasn't able to come out until the following day. He helped me diagnose the issue, which lied with the wiring of the digital thermostat. Very grateful that we got the furnace back up and running. As the transition between seasons begins its accent, the days are met with warmth and sunlight as they are still not yet short though the nights begin to exhale the whispers of colder weather. Unfortunately though, I had the pleasant surprise of waking up one morning without any heat. The house felt extremely frigid so naturally after discovering that my heat would not be working anytime soon, I immediately started to research reviews for a company that could be of assistance. Davey Heating & Air Conditioning popped up on my feed and what caught my eye was not only that it was a business that could assist with my current situation but that it also had so many near perfect reviews. It was a win win. Mike, the technician to arrive, was immediately friendly, professional, polite, and caring. When we had spoken on the telephone, through anxiety and frustration as I made it clear that it was unpleasant to wake up to something that resembled a morgue, he made mention that this company always made sure to keep open slots available for those emergency situations such as my own. Relieved, I was grateful and waited for him to call me back as he wanted to double check that he had an available slot for this emergency. Sure enough, Mike returned the call and gave me two options: he could either come out immediately or at the end of the day, whatever was convenient. Of course not wanting to wait another minute, I was extremely grateful he would be arriving shortly. Courteous, professional, diligent with his work, he tried to explain to me what he had done to fix the unit however, elated I just expressed my gratitude that the heat was in existence again. No matter the cost, I was taken care of and not only pleased but a very satisfied customer who would be letting everyone know just how amazing and professional this company was. Seeing as how this happened on a Friday, I cannot begin to express how amazed, surprised, and joyful I felt that not only was this company going to take care of me but it was going to be done in a timely manner before the weekend. Just going to cozy up in my warm house again! It's easy to take these small but yet amazing luxurious things for granted! While it is easy to get comfortable with certain luxuries and comforts, a break in that is a great reminder of the things we should be grateful for and as I sit here in my home feeling the warmth coming through, I am reminded that as a community we truly are there to help one another. I cannot say it enough but Mike was more than enough, went way beyond above average, and left me feeling as though I'd made a friend in the process. I have not actually had Davey out to my house yet, but I had to leave this review to applaud their absolutely phenomenal customer service. I called when our air conditioner broke down during a very tough week. I had just called another place that couldn't come out for nine days and was feeling so defeated. Dorothy answered and said why don't we see if we can do some troubleshooting and get it working again. She walked me step by step through a number of things to do, and then had me wait for 15 minutes to see if it would come on and said to call her back and let her know if it was working. It came back on within a few minutes! She also explained some things to me that no one else has ever told me about using air conditioners in Colorado- so helpful.
