I live locally, and during an adrenal crisis, the hospital team wouldn't listen when I urgently needed Hydrocortisone. I called the Cushing's advocates, and thanks to him, I received the life-saving medication right away. I don't believe I'd be here if it weren't for him. He is very well known in the endocrinology field and has worked with many other hospitals in the past. Whenever I speak with someone who has Cushing's disease, I always recommend Dr. Friedman. He's incredibly well-known in the Cushing's community and is highly skilled in diagnosing and teaching patients how to test properly. Many people struggle with misdiagnosis or a lack of diagnosis because some endocrinologists aren't familiar with testing for this rare condition. Dr. Friedman not only understands it but also educates other doctors, which is invaluable. He is thorough, dedicated, and even has a great sense of humor once you get to know him. Although he doesn't work with insurance directly, he provides a superbill, which allows patients to submit claims for coverage. Here is what is great about that. I have found that many times insurance dictates the care a doctor can prescribe or test for. Hence, it is the insurance who are determining your care. Insurance should never have that power and that is a big reason people cannot access care. Dr F takes care of what he believes is necessary to care for you individually. In my experience, quality care is worth it, and Dr. Friedman's knowledge and commitment have saved me years of misdiagnosis and unnecessary testing. I learned this the hard way. Don't waste your time esp if they have no idea what they are doing. For anyone facing a challenging diagnosis, Dr. Friedman's experience, attention to detail, and genuine passion for helping difficult cases are unmatched. I'm grateful to have him as my doctor and feel secure in his care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Friedman's for more than 20 years and always had the utmost respect…read morefor him as he is truly brilliant. Unfortunately, following my most recent appointment with Dr. Friedman and, subsequently, the way Edmil has handled my medically necessary prescription, I no longer have faith in this office. Dr. Friedman does not accept insurance. As a senior, I pay $165 for a 10-minute telephone appointment to have my laboratory results reviewed and receive new prescriptions. Clinical notes containing Dr. Friedman's plan of treatment are emailed to me after the appointment. Because my thyroid levels fluctuate considerably, I must have bloodwork every two to three months. My general practitioner runs my lab tests throughout the year as I can only afford Doctor Friedman's expertise twice a year at most . I have not seen him in person for many years and he only monitors my thyroid. This time, our phone appointment was very different and rushed. When I mentioned that I had gained weight, he suddenly asked whether I wanted to take a GLP-1 medication. I was incredulous that he would suggest this without discussing my extensive medical history, autoimmune conditions, recent bloodwork, and numerous other health issues. It made me feel as though he had simply joined the GLP-1 bandwagon, which I found concerning. He also told me that I should now take my thyroid medication with food, even though he had always instructed me to take it hours before eating, as had every other doctor who treated me. Along with my clinical notes, he sent me a two-page document titled "A New Approach to Thyroid Hormone Timing and Management: Should You Take Your Thyroid Hormones with Food?" The study described in the document involved patients taking a higher dosage to compensate for reduced absorption with food, followed by REGULAR laboratory testing and dosage adjustments. The document also discussed AI modeling that it acknowledged still needed to be replicated in actual pharmacokinetic studies. The evidence did not appear conclusive to me, and I am not willing to be part of an experiment, particularly without appropriate monitoring. Despite telling me to make this major change, he then said, "Make an appointment in three months. You don't even have to do your labs." What would be the purpose of another appointment without current bloodwork, especially when my thyroid levels fluctuate dramatically and I do not feel well? The situation became even more disturbing when I contacted the Pharmacy and learned that my prescription had been submitted with the incorrect dosage. I saw Dr. Friedman in July, and it is now September. I am still waiting for my medication because Edmil has repeatedly failed to submit the correct dosage. Despite my calls and emails clearly explaining the error, he continued to state the dosage incorrectly instead of reviewing my July clinical notes or confirming the proper instructions with Dr. Friedman. This is not a minor administrative mistake. An incorrect dosage and a two-month delay in obtaining medically necessary medication can have serious health consequences. Had I not still had some medication remaining, I would have been left without treatment and unable to function because of Edmil's repeated failure to process the prescription accurately. After more than 20 years as a patient, I never imagined that this relationship would end this way. Between the medical conversation and Edmil's repeated failure to process my prescription correctly, this entire experience has felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone. Update As of September 6, this still has not been resolved. I continue to receive emails from his office asking me for the same information I have already provided repeatedly--sometimes in the very email thread they are responding to. I am also being asked questions about my treatment that his staff should be asking him or confirming by reviewing my clinical notes. It is as though no one is actually reading my messages, communicating with the dr, or taking responsibility for resolving this. The continued confusion, delay, and complete lack of urgency surrounding my inability to receive my medication due to Dr. Friedman's incompetent office staff is unconscionable, not to mention potentially life-threatening. Update:Sept 7 : Lynn called and emailed several times yesterday and today. She is doing everything she can to get my prescription ordered correctly. I truly thank you Lynne !

I came to Dr. Citrin in July 2024 after drastic changes in my weight, digestion, mood and mental…read moreclarity.  I have always been petite and have never struggled with unexplained weight gain, and up to this point in my life found slight changes in diet or exercise could make me shed weight easily.  In less than 3 months, I had gained 15# with no change in diet or exercise, and my GI tract  felt sluggish, backed up and bloated.  Brain fog was becoming a daily occurrence, and I felt like I was struggling for the first time in my own medical career. After hearing his name from several trusted clients, I scheduled my initial consultation.  He listened attentively and took thorough detailed medical, genealogical and relevant personal history.  He recommend a battery of tests with follow up to discuss initial treatments.    Following my diagnostics of full blood work, hormones, Dutch test, Gut Zoomer and SIBO testing, I learned that I was gluten intolerant and in menopause at the age of 45 (which many doctors had told me was not a thing- I was too young).  Dr. Citrin put me on gut enzymes and a gluten free diet to start, and also encouraged weight lifting regimen- I lost 6# in just a few weeks and for the first time in almost a year, my GI signs began to resolve and I didn't feel bloated all the time.  At the next consult we began discussing HRT with the goal to try to get me out of menopause and into perimenopause.  I started transdermal estrogen patches and oral progesterone.  For the first time in nearly a decade, I began having a regular cycle.  Brain fog lifted, and my overall energy improved.  Within 6 months, I was down 10# and feeling better, but I really did want to aim for "best I have ever felt in my life." Dr. Citrin took these goals very seriously and began adding peptides, NAD, and a few other hormone tweaks.  I am now 10 months from my initial consult, and I am down over 20#, and have lost 11% body fat.  I did not lose even 0.5# of muscle during my weight loss due to a diet of high protein, high fiber, and weight training.  Somewhere in the mix, I also realized that my lifelong psoriasis has completely resolved. I have no plaques or "scars" that are normally evident even in periods of clear skin. My hair and nails are growing at an accelerated rate-- my hairstylist is seeing a ton of new growth and commented that my hair is growing faster.  Vitality and clarity are higher than I can remember even in my early twenties.  Dr. Citrin is very personable and attentive, his precision and attention to detail unparalleled. Nothing is ever rushed and medical decisions are made collaboratively.  Your medical issues are resolved from the root source and not masked with medications or brushed off as "natural/ normal for this stage of life."  He is a rare combination of scientific rigor and heartfelt compassion that has catalyzed meaningful change in my life.  His office staff are always kind and responsive.  I am so incredibly thankful to be under the care of this clinic.   Start: Age 45 Weight 126.8 Percent body fat 29% BMI - 23 Diet- clean, no processed food Current: Age 46 Weight 105.6 Percent body fat: 18.4% BMI 18.1 Diet -no gluten, no processed sugar, high protein and fiber

This practice has been nothing but unprofessional for the past 2 years that I've been introduced…read more The employees are robotic, unprofessional, and demeaning in every way possible. They have yet to ever contribute to doing their job. Every time I ask the simplest of questions, I've been given the run around and never called back or even responded back in a timely manner. They charge an arm and a leg for everything. They had the tendency to nickle and dime you for everything. They even impose a 3-4% charge for using credit cards. I've never heard of any establishment imposing that charge other customers or clients. You offer payment options as a convenience to people for your services. Staff is absolutely useless in accomplishing anything and huge revolving door here. At first I thought it's the staff then I realized it's the employer himself that is imposing all this as well as allowing his staff to be so inefficient. I can't waste my time or money here any longer. Please spare yourselves the time and money and go elsewhere where you are treated with respect and you get what you pay for. Never returning again. You leave multiple messages for the doctor to contact you and he never responds. The staff hangs up on you as you're still talking. It's really sad how these practices get away with this type of behavior.
