Wow it's hard to put into words how much we love and appreciate Andy Huang and his entire team. From the moment we met him, it felt like we knew him our whole life, like that best friend who has always guided you. Once we jumped into the journey with him... I looked forward to all of our visits, even the ones that were maybe stressful or fearful... Being able to see the staff and connect with the nurses and receive a visit from the doctor... all the fear would dissipate and we just felt like you were surrounded by people that really loved and cared for you! We expressed to Dr. Huang what we wanted and how we wanted to get there because we were limited in financial resources and he allowed us to carve our own path and be patient with us... we never felt rushed or pressured or even defeated because he always made us feel like there was a place to go next and something positive ahead. They were all there with us rallying around us... one big celebration! I did not a have good experience at this clinic. After a good virtual consultation, we went to the clinic and everything fell apart. First of all, the parking the extremely expensive. If I recall its like $30 and they dont validate and there isn't street parking nearby. Second, we arrived into a completely packed waiting room with no windows and the stylings of a public library. Its a very personal process and you don't want to be surrounded by strangers in a dingy room. Third, and most importantly, they do not respect your time. About half an hour into waiting I overheard one woman telling another that "yeah he has a good reputation but expect to wait an hour." Sure enough we waited well over an hour.... So about an hour into waiting I made a stand. I made a stand for all the vulnerable women that are too afraid and desperate to speak up. This man acts nice but his prices are egregiously expensive and making people wait over an hour as a regular practice is not respect. So either check your greed or be more organized. I took control after that horrible first meeting and went on Reddit and found West Coast Fertility Centers. It was a little bit of a drive, but there was NEVER a long wait. We saved over $20k, their facility was much nicer, with plenty of free parking, and a nice waiting area that was never packed. I also found Dr. Vitaly A. Kushnir MD was far less condescending in his manner of speaking. I'm happy to say we that we just had a beautiful baby boy on our first IVF attempt!! Dr. Andy Huang is beyond amazing. What can I say to portray how amazing he is?In addition to being a wonderful doctor, he is also an authentic person. Not every doctor cares to the level he does. I truly wish I had known him 5 years ago. I had other fertility doctors who wasted my time for such a long time! Dr. Huang truly cares about his patients and ensures they get the best care. He is very responsive and answers your medical questions promptly. Brianna, Becky, and Dr. Huang are three musketeers of caring angels in scrubs. Martin is one of the BEST phlebotomists you can encounter. He truly knows what he is doing, so he is trustworthy even if you have hard veins like me. They all genuinely care. There were two times I was shocked by some admin stuff, but Dr. Huang made sure they were taken care of appropriately and promptly. Tara is also so caring and helpful. She makes sure to manage everything appropriately and has a great understanding. Becky, at the third party, also helped me so much. Ultrasound ladies are also so kind. Dr. Huang helped me with a matter that if not all, most fertility doctors could not assist me with it. I am forever thankful for him. What a lovely team! My only horrible experience was with Dr.  Cousineau, the anesthesiologist. I let him know since the beginning that I have hard veins, and my right elbow is where phlebotomists find my veins. He managed to poke me 14 times on the back of my hands and on my wrists but did not even try once at my elbow. I had pain and huge bruises for more than a week on my wrists. It was so bad that a few friends got worried because they thought I attempted suicide or was attacked by someone. Dr.  Cousineau was whistling the whole time I was suffering (about an hour), which became my nightmare for a while. It took me time to get over those nightmares. When I complained to him then, he acted like I was overreacting and repeatedly mentioned how experienced and great a doctor he is!! He wanted to try my feet without even trying my right elbow. I refused to do the procedure if he did it. Then, Dr. Wambach (Dr. Huang was not in the office that day, and Dr. Wambach helped me retrieve my eggs) asked Martin, the phlebotomist, to help. Guess what? Martin got my vein exactly where I said since the beginning: right elbow!! Dr. Huang and his clinical team are so amazing that I would give them ten stars if I could! 5 stars do not do them justice. However, I would not give  Dr. Cousineau even a 0 star. If you tend to get him as your anesthesiologist, make sure to advocate for yourself if you have hard veins like me before getting traumatized. read more

I cannot thank Dr. Huang and the team at RPMG enough for such an easy and wonderful experience.   I don't leave many reviews, but IVF and babies is such a personal/emotional and heavy experience, I wanted to give a first hand account for other moms/dads/surrogates beginning their journey.   Dr. Huang and his team became like family to me very quickly.  Dr. Huang explained in detail the entire process from the beginning, which was very valuable, as I knew what to expect as our journey towards our embryo transfer progressed.  They were so detailed in monitoring me (from a different state even!), that we moved my embryo transfer up by a few days so that my levels would be optimal for the transfer.       My team was Dr. Huang, Deborah Valenzuela, Veronica, Monica, Stephanie, and June.  Each was SO kind and helpful to me.  Dr. Huang would video call me to answer my questions and meet me since I live in a different state.  He could have called, or emailed me the information I needed, but it was very important for him to have a video call to see me and make it more personal. I so appreciate that time he took in really getting to know me face to face. He is so very kind, sympathetic and supportive.  I love how down to earth he is too.  I could tell after a few minutes how genuine his care would be.  As a surrogate, he treated me as special and important as any of his patients, and I am so grateful for his compassion towards me. Dr. Huang is the most incredible doctor I've ever gone to. He is compassionate, caring, patient, calming, and just an overall wonderful person. I recently got married a year ago and we decided to start on having a family about 4 months after. I heard all the statistics of decline in eggs and ability to get pregnant after the age of 35. However, i chose to have a different mindset about this journey and was lucky to find Dr. Huang. He is truly the most amazing, compassionate, caring doctor that I have met in ANY medical field! Not only did he understand i did my research and didn't care to hear about statistics since I knew them already but he also has a very holistic approach to the use of eastern and western medicine. I also didn't mention that Dr. Huang gives you both his cell and email to contact him during the entire process and after. This is not the usual practice with physicians as far as my experience has been. Unfortunately i didn't find him immediately when I began this journey as went through 2 IVF cycles. The second one being very traumatic to me since I felt that my body needed to go through a healing period and I needed a break both physically and financially. Dr. Huang was very supportive of my needing this break and didn't get all pushy about starting treatment again. During this break I decided to start seeing an accupuncturist Dr. Xiuling Ma. She helped me with accupuncture and herbs. Dr. Huang was very supportive of this process and suggested I might try a less invasive process with Clomid and IUI along with the herbs. I felt like this was a more gentle approach to having a baby and ironically I ended up with the same number of eggs as I had with all the expensive IVF meds. From a financial perspective this process IUI and Clomid ($365) Accupuncture was $90 + $45 for herbs (per visit). My personal opinion is it doesn't hurt to work your way through your fertility journey with the least invasive procedure first and if that doesn't work then try IVF. I am now pregnant :) read more

This has been the most amazing journey. I really feel fortunate to have met and have Dr. Andy Huang as my doctor. I am now 39 years old. That being said, a woman's biology drastically changes after the age of 35. The fact that I am not currently married also gave me the push to seriously look at my own biology given I wanted to have a child one day. We are all different just like our finger prints and one size does not fit all. After all of my research I found the most remarkable, kind, encouraging, and inspirational, and compassionate doctors; Dr. Andy Huang. I was looking at my options and to have a meticulous look at my own biology and if I could be a candidate for freezing my eggs. First let me give a little background. A woman is born with over 60 billion eggs, and by the time we reach puberty, we are in the thousands. On each side of our ovaries we have follicles; similar to hair follicles that can nest an egg. When a woman is in her 20s, there are possibly 20-30 follicles on each side of her ovaries. By the time you reach 39, my understand is that you are looking at an average of 2-3 follicles total. Please understand this is a broad stroke and let me emphasize that every body is designed individually. That's why I stress that one size does not fit all. Your follicle count varies from month to month, perhaps by 2-3 follicles. That is why by the time you are in your mid-late 30s and older it becomes more difficult to become pregnant. Not just by your follicle count but also by how many "good" (meaning quality) eggs you have that are left. In my case my follicle count happens to be between 9-11 follicles. I am currently working with an acupuncturist to aid in the process of stimulating my body for the freezing process. On average and statistically at 39, the goal is to be able to extract approximately 12 eggs because 1 out of every 3 eggs in my case is a "good" egg. You may have more, in fact they may all be incredible but statistically this is what you are looking at. Many things come into to play: your age, your blood work, when your mother went the menopause, if you were able to get pregnant before etc. For me, I want to freeze my eggs for the opportunity to have a child of my own with my own DNA. This buys me a little time. In the past year in half, egg freezing has become 100% accurate with the flash freezing method and is now being used for IVF. Dr. Huang is the head of the board at UCLA for fertility and you are in incredibly capable hands. HONESTLY the BEST hands. He is the type of man who can explain things visually and methodically to you. He doesn't rush you, he takes his time. He offers you his email address and direct cell phone number so that you can be in constant communication. He knows you will have questions. He also knows that you are vulnerable and feel very isolated or alone even with support around you. The difference is he has the background as a husband, doctor, and confidant to put you at ease and place you in the best position to proceed with the greatest positive results. One of the questions I had for him when I started the process was regarding the eggs not used; could they be used later for cloning purposes for our own health. He said we are about 20 years away from that but, just think...you may not just be given the opportunity to create life, but possible extend and help your own. It is an incredible time for medicine and I am EXTREMELY blessed to have Dr.Huang as my doctor for freezing and possibly unfreezing my eggs at a later point. Of course he insist that it should be a back-up method and the good ol' fashion way should be the first couple of tries. :) This man is an honest to goodness gem and proves to be on your side each step of the way through your whole experience. Dr. Huang was reassuring and optimistic about our situation (low ovarian reserve), explained everything in a simple way and truly cared about us. He even gave us his mobile number (doctors never do that!) should we have had any questions that came up during our time with him and he called us personally with all lab results. I also liked that he didn't just jump immediately to IVF before we tried conceiving on our own as the first step before other interventions (and we were able to conceive on our own with some help from Dr. Huang). Phenomenal doctor! The kindest and sweetest man. Super knowledgeable, sensitive, and caring. We went to the LA office but did procedures with him in the Redondo office. LA office gets super busy so expect at least an hour wait time for each visit. And parking is expensive. That's the only part I didn't like but worth it for the excellent service and great staff as well. The two other doctors in the office - Rosen and Wambach are good too but Huang is in a class of his own. Request him when possible. Their prices are also very reasonable especially compared to other doctors in the field. Worth getting the packages they offer. read more

Dr. Huang and Dr. Rosen are the BEST in fertility!!! They helped me have my two children. My first child was easy (IUI), but my second was not so easy because I was older and not ovulating well anymore, so I had to go to IVF- thanks to these doctors, I was successful with the first cycle- and nine months later my sweet, healthy baby boy was born. I like that Dr. Huang (and Rosen) are upfront with you. You will trust him because he is a GENUINE person who sincerely wants to see you get the family you so desire. He takes the time to listen to you in office visits and in phone calls, and he explains things very well to you. You trust him because you know he means what he says.
