I should have read the Yelp reviews before coming. My experience here was not a good one. Prior to coming here I called ahead & asked if the oral surgeon performs surgery for cysts within the mouth. I was told yes. I have a cyst near my sinus cavity (not visible) & I had been told by my dentist & an endodontist to see an oral surgeon for this issue. It took me well over an hour just to get here & I saw Dr. Cedeno. It seemed to me that he did not feel comfortable performing the work I need. In his words he believes the cyst (if it is a cyst) is benign and not too concerning. He then tried to upsell me into getting my wisdom teeth removed which he later said that they were ok. I came well prepared with a flash drive of a CT Scan I had previously paid for with provided instructions and his medical assistant seemed to have trouble uploading it & she hit me with the "our systems must be different & that is why we can't view it" yet meanwhile the instructions remained in the envelope never even opening it. She seemed to struggle with using the computer, I can only think she is new. As someone who has previously worked in the medical field I know incompetence when I see it & I genuinely felt that on my visit. From previous experience elsewhere I was told that the CT scan was the most accurate way to view the cyst and I did not want to go through another panoramic scan since I've already had 2 elsewhere. This experience has taught me that many places will bring you in bs you & just charge your insurance for an office visit/consultation & not do a damn thing for you. Dr. Cedeno ended the consultation with "Well I have to get going l have other important things to do" No regard to patient care. A simple thank you for coming in, but I must be leaving would suffice. The having more important things to do was very inconsiderate because you are deliberately making someone feel that they are an inconvenience to your schedule. I can attest that this information is truth & accurate for my experiences & BY THE WAY YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING. I was charged $20 for their parking & my visit was only about half an hour. read more

It took me some time to write this review because I usually love and support businesses regardless of my experience. This review is strictly based on my personal experience and I think it's important to share my experience. My regular dentist referred me to doctor Cedeño because I needed one wisdom tooth pulled. I was promised I was in good hands and trusted the process. I made my appointment and paid the full balance as per their policy. I followed all instructions and thought this should be a breeze. I'm in the chair, staff is setting equipment up and oxygen is on and ready for IV. I wasn't anxious or timid and I have a night tolerance for pain. Unfortunately, doctor Cedeño couldn't properly administer the IV. I was poked 4 different times, they even sprayed a cold foam to help with the process and it made everything worse! My hand was poked, wrist was poked and arms were poked and they still couldn't "find a vein". I screamed in agony when he was shoving the needle in my wrist and once I screamed, the door was closed. Everyone in that room was shocked and I had bruises for a week. The laughing gas didn't help and doctor Cedeño suggested giving me a benzo to see if it would help. I declined and opted to gtfo! I said I would reschedule but, I requested a refund instead! Do yourselves a favor and research before you decide to go under for ANY REASON! A Dentist in it for the money and not out to help people, I don't recommend coming here at all. Tries to feed his own ego by talking down on other locations, I get it be confident and be the best but have more that a D rating to prove it and back it up. 3.3/5 rating on Yelp with that condescending attitude is pretty crazy (there's even a couple western dentals with better reviews). For someone that has both a dental and medical degree from UCSF and UCLA plus 30+ years in Dental field he has little to no people skills. I had a very pleasant visit while I was here! I was referred to Dr. Cedeno for an evaluation of a finding my dentist caught on x-ray images. He is one of the very few oral surgeons who takes my insurance, which covered the full cost of my care. The garage right out front is pretty expensive ($16 if I remember correctly), so I went and found a free spot a short walk away instead. I completed all necessary documentation on his website before arriving, so there was little else I needed to do once I arrived except wait to be seen. There were a lot of questions to respond to prior to being seen for the first time, but I feel comfortable knowing he is so thorough. The office is clean and has equipment that I don't normally see in a dentist's office, as expected for an oral surgeon's practice. After getting a CT scan of my teeth, I was seated in the exam room and completed additional intake with his staff. My appointment with him was brief, likely because nothing needs to be done for my diagnosis. He explained what he found, gave me additional recommendations for my dental care, and we chatted for a little bit before I headed out. He's very personable! Overall, I feel very lucky to have had such a knowledgable surgeon within my insurance network and would definitely return to him again should I need to be seen by an oral surgeon for any reason. read more

Staff were great. But Cedeno is focused on upselling. He will not do a simple procedure unless u BUY something else that the insurance doesn't cover. The insurance doesn't cover certain things cause it's not necessary. It's worse than going to a car dealership. Car sales people aren't as aggressive as this guy. read more

I got 3of my wisdom teeth removed here. One was a little complicated because it was growing horizontally but Dr.Cedeno and his staff did an amazing job. Before surgery Dr. advised that I should get platelet-rich fibrin and bone graft but I denied that option because it was too expensive. I chose the "only wisdom tooth extraction " option. I was sedated so I didn't feel anything. When I woke up I didn't feel any pain for 6 hours.......2nd 3rd & 4th day were the most painful I was crying it was making my eye and ear hurt and I was taking pain meds every 3 hours. Today I'm on day 8 now and I'm feeling amazing. I took only one painkiller today. There is a hole left after the extraction but it's so tiny thank you so much Dr Cedeno for doing such an amazing job with stitches. Some people are usually left with big holes after the extraction but mine is stitched and almost closed now. Thank you for your amazing work. read more

Of course, a trip to the oral surgeon is not top of my list, however, when needed, Dr. Cedeno & staff will make you feel as comfortable as possible. They will make your dental anxiety melt away. Additionally getting your detailed x rays and CT scans to ensure accurate treatment is provided is such a relief. The front office staff work with you to answer all billing questions or concerns. I had a great experience with Dr Cedeno! I needed emergency oral surgery for an impacted wisdom tooth and they were kind enough to squeeze me in the very next day to accommodate my upcoming travel plans. I had great service from the front desk and everyone on staff. Dr Cedeno has a comforting bedside manner and made me feel safe and cared for, even though I was totally freaked out by the idea of the surgery! He is an experienced surgeon and came highly recommended by my dentist, and after talking to him I knew I was in good hands. When my pharmacy was having issues processing my post op meds, Dr. Cedeno called them himself (on a Saturday, no less!) to get it sorted. Now that's great service! It seems like a lot of the negative reviews are for the font desk (which I truly had no problem with at all!), but also, that kind of feels like missing the point. In 2019, I had him perform my wisdom teeth removal. During my first consultation he gave me a quote for the procedure. I thought it was reasonable and scheduled my procedure for a later visit. On my next visit, I went in for the actual surgery the price had changed substantially from the initial one. He told me it wasn't him who gave me the first price and assessment. Obviously he lied to me I had the paperwork from the first visit with the original price. I naively went through with it but looking back he totally scammed me. I hope he feels great about squeezing out 1k+ from a young college student. I saved all my paperwork from that time as evidence. He's sketchy and not trustworthy! read more

**warning all 5 stars are old** *unethical business practices* This place is insane. My regular dentist the amazing Dr. Arias at Altamed Dental, took my xrays and decided I needed a specialist. She then sent me a referral to a specialist. Unfortunately this specialist. My insurance approved the procedure and sent me the necessary paperwork. I then called this office and scheduled an appointment. The person on the phone "Yanni" said I needed a consultation and xrays. I told her I had just received xrays and had paperwork from Dr. Arias stating the necessity of the procedure. It wasn't until I read her word for word the document from my insurance that she put me on hold and then told me she had been told that I could just schedule the surgery. I was relieved and made the appointment. The day before the appointment (today) I got a call confirming an appointment for a CONSULTATION and X-rays. At first I was confused. I told her that I had made the appointment for surgery, and that I had recently received a letter that insurance would not pay for additional consultation or another round of X-rays. She said they always require an additional consult. I said that was told to me last time but after explaining the person in the phone told me that she would schedule me for surgery directly. She asked who I had made the appointment with. Why would I have that information. I said can't you just check on your end? She said hold on, it was me. I said okay well we already went over this but I'll read this to you again. She told me she didn't schedule it as surgery and didn't tell me that I could receive services without the consult. I asked her, " On what planet would I even know to make up this lie?" Why would I be lying and further how would I agree to an appointment I didn't need? She then repeatedly asked if I was going to keep the appointment for consultation only. I said how much is it? 125$. What. A. Fucking. Scam. Fuck this place. Go here if you want someone to call you a liar while they try to bilk your insurance for every last dollar they can. Misunderstanding my ass. I had my wisdom teeth (all four) taken out a couple weeks ago and let me start off by saying that the actual procedure went well and I had minimal pain. Thank goodness. The bed side manner was so bad!!! I was the first appointment of the day, 8:45 so I got there a little early. For one I was nervous because it's not everyday you go under and have oral surgery. And I wanted to be respectful of the doctors time. I didn't go back for the surgery until almost 10AM. Clearly they don't care about your time or the person picking you up. When David came in the room I said good morning to him and asked him how he was doing. His exact response to me... "right now?.....okay" like excuse me? Well wonderful I'm glad you're "okay" and about to conduct surgery! When I started waking up there were multiple people in my room.... ORDERING LUNCH ON THE COMPUTER!! I was so out of it and frankly uncomfortable and really couldn't believe it. So unprofessional! Everyone kept talking to me and I literally couldn't feel my face therefore couldn't talk back. Just real annoying. When I got home my arm where the IV was, was hurting way worse than my mouth. It was extremely swollen and bruised... the girl that put my IV in was clearly not good at her job. Or just didn't care. She was yapping to the other nurse about her friend and drinking. Don't not see this doctor! He is so rude and unprofessional! 1) My appointment was scheduled at 2:00pm was seen at 4:00pm. (Side note: I was not able to eat or drink water during the entire day) 2) With my insurance they charged me $1,200 to remove my wisdom teeth and do extra work. I met with this doctor and he stated, "I haven't met you have I?" And I said no. Run!!! Truly Run!! I took my 17 year old to see Dr Cedeno bc he needed his wisdom teeth removed. Dr Cedeno seemed very nice while he told us that my sons mouth had all kinds of complications I will not bore you with and Said that we had to bone graft/ replace around 3 possibly 4 of the impacted teeth once removed. And of course you an imagine the bill in the thousands. I am so glad that I read other people's reviews here stating that he overprescribed bone grafting. We got a second opinion by a highly respected doctor w over 100 reviews w 5 stars on here. When he saw my son and saw Dr Cedeno's plan he couldn't believe himself and called it criminal. the idea of needed to replace bones for a 17 year old seems insane to him. He told me my son at that age has the capacity to generate new tissue easily. And he told me in 28 years in his practice as a surgeon that he had to bone graft after removing a wisdom teeth were so very few ... Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion or better skip this place all together. David Cedeno and his staff are complete pro's, I was referred to his from my primary dentist. He the best in the area if you live or work in #DTLA or Westlake. I had a job that only he could do, the removal of all four wisdom teeth that was 2 years over dued. He and his staff explained all the benefits and risk thoroughly, like my lower left wisdom tooth had two nerves running over them. This can sometimes led to the losing of feeling on that side of the mouth, which is why he recommended I go under. I got good insurance but my copayment was still a chunk of change. Its too be expected when you haven't seen a dentist regularly over 10 years. His staff did the best they could so to get me a fair rate for top notch service. I had four wisdom teeth removed and two bone graft done within a hour or so. I can tell you that I'm not in as much pain as I expected, there is pain and discomfort, but again it's too be expected. I hardly write reviews, but this facility deserves one from me because my experience/procedure was treated like first class. I had complications after getting my bottom wisdom teeth extracted by my dentist and was in a lot of pain. My dentist referred me to Dr. Cedeno. They were very accommodating and I was able to see him right away. When I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist and I think the office manager who is new to the team. Both seemed to be very organized and prompt. They gathered all of my information from my dentist so no repeated work was done and made the visit/procedure affordable. Dr. Cedeno was very patient and filled with a wealth of knowledge, which put me at ease. He listened to all of my concerns and answered them before proceeding with the procedure which went well. I was referred to him by a dentist because I had impacted wisdom teeth. I had my wisdom teeth removed with him 3 years ago. I did not have any complications or painful experience, my discomfort mainly came from antibiotics and not the procedure itself. I loved Dr. Cedeno, he was amazing. Why I put on the bill antibiotics with penicillin , when I filled a form saying Im allergic to penicillin, thank God I paid attention. Why use the nitro gas, after you already gave 3 shots of anesthesia and Im numb( ohh cause insurance don't cover)and I am telling them I don't want because it makes me feel itchy , for a remaining root of my tooth, it took 10 min, while waiting 2 and half hours, but I paid $ 500 in the first 10 min I walked in. The one-star reviewers on here must have reviewed the wrong oral surgeon. Dr. Cedeño extracted three of my wisdom teeth last Saturday (9/23), and the experience was as good as anyone under the circumstances could hope for. When I initially called to get an appointment, I expected the next available date would be at least a month out; it was less than a week--and on a Saturday morning! The timing couldn't have been better. When I got there, I waited a little bit, but certainly no longer than at any other doctor's office. You can't have unreasonable expectations, folks; proper care takes time, and sometimes doctors run behind. Get over it. Before the procedure, Dr. Cedeño carefully explained both the procedure and all of the risks, including the pros and cons of proceeding in light of the risks. When I decided to go forward, a staff member verified my insurance and took me into an office to carefully review with me my coverage and what I would owe. At no point did I ever feel pressured or upsold. To the contrary: everyone was up front, clear, and thorough. The procedure went as well as I could have expected. I was out in a few hours and felt way better than I had expected to feel based on a bad experience I had when I got my other wisdom tooth out a few years ago. And the office made clear that I could call or text with any questions I thought of after the fact. Today was my first visit for consultation and wisdom teeth extractions. I had all 4 removed. My experience was honestly great. The staff was kind and attentive. Dr. Cedeño was kind and explained my treatment plan great. I was sedated and didn't feel anything. Woke up fine. Got to rest and feel more awake before being picked up. Multiple staff came by from time to time to check up on me. I'm very happy my dentist referred me here. My insurance covered a part. But I did want all 4 of my teeth extracted not just the impacted. I feel what I paid was extremely worth it. The sedation worried me but I actually felt good, while getting set up things where explained to me so it put me at ease. read more

I am so greatful I found Dr Cadeno! My son has Autism and Epilepsy, he needed his impacted wisdom teeth extracted and finding a surgeon was difficult. HORRIBLE dentist and a con artist! He is known for lying to patients about the procedures they need and charges you for additional services that are not only unnecessary, but that he doesn't do in the first place. He also uses bait and switch techniques at the last minute when you've already shown up for your appointment and waited hours past your appointment time. For example, he'll quote you $800 for a procedure where you're supposed to pay $200 out of pocket, then switches it up at the last second and says you need A, B, and C, and your new bill is $1600 out of pocket. I confirmed with multiple other oral surgeons who verified that Dr. Cedeno was lying about which procedures were necessary. If that's not bad enough, he way overbooks his appointments so you end up waiting much much longer than you're supposed to. Literally 2-3 hours after your appointment time. To make matters worse, he's incredibly rude and offensive in his tone. If you tell him what your preference is, he'll tell you your preferences mean nothing and he's the one who decides what to do. Incompetent doctor and assistant!! My sister just got her 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday. Before they checked her out, I had to be instructed with her medications. One of which, was 125mg Amoxicillin antibiotic. I remember vividly confirming "so this has to be taken once a day for 2 wks. By the time she comes back for her check up on the 27th, she would be almost done w this one" and the nurse assistant confirmed so. Went home, found that the instruction given on the bottle was "take twice a day (14 pills)" which means, it would be done in a week and not two as instructed! My anxious sister asked if I heard it wrong. So damn sure I did not! So we called the pharmacy who gave her the meds, to ask for the proper intake. Was told by the pharmacist that the med has to be taken twice a day or else it would not effectively fight the bacteria. Oh wow!! Can you imagine, having your own doctor (and his staff) misinforming you about your meds? How can you trust this practice if even the most rudimentary of duties is so highly suspect !? read more

One of my clients was referred here by his regular dental provider and came back to see me utterly confused. I had a difficult time getting anybody on the phone, and when I did the staff was friendly enough, but not very knowledgeable. Bottom line: they want to foist general anaesthesia on everyone. Not medically necessary? No problem! Not affordable for a person on Social Security income? No problem! These guys want to get paid. I'm sure the doc is perfectly competent, but it's unethical for this office to tell somebody that they "have to" have general because it's in your best interests rather than the patient's. I called 2 days ahead of time to ask if they had transferred the X-Rays needed for review from my dentist. 30 minutes later in the waiting room I'm still waiting for them to receive the x-rays. Total amateurs. I have no idea why they think I'm willing to spend all day in their waiting room for no reason other than they didn't feel like doing their job. Do not go here, this is a nightmare practice. They will invoice you ridiculous amounts without telling you the price in advance. I went in for a consultation, the doctor was rude and condescending, the entire visit was less than 10 mins with telling me what I already know( that I have 2 wisdom teeth and it is a good idea to take them out). The worst ever. Dentist referred this place for a wisdom tooth removal. Staggeringly unprofessional. After requesting that I show up an hour earlier due to a cancellation had a 2 hour wait.
