My only sadness when my dentist retired was the suddenness: After decade after decade after decade of service and geeky repartee about various scientific aspects of dentistry, he handed me over to Dr. Davoodpour without a closing goodbye. Fortunately, Dr. David also really enjoys his work, and we enjoy what look like to me new toys he has to explore dental health. I was heartbroken when I found out my dentist was retiring and was handing his patients over to another dentist. I was apprehensive (to say the least) about trying someone new. I have a ridiculous/irrational fear of the dentist which my dentist was quite familiar with and knew exactly how to deal with my phobia. I had my first appointment with Dr. Davoodpour and was very pleasantly surprised to find out he is incredibly kind, not aggressive and really knowledgeable! We stumbled upon Dr. David when my mother-in-law was visiting from Florida and happened to lose a crown on a Friday afternoon just before 5 p.m. We had just moved to LA and weren't established with a dentist so I didn't have the slightest idea who to see. I called multiple dentists, all of whom wanted us to be existing patients before seeing my mother-in-law, but Dr. David saved the day. He stayed late to see her and took his time with her. He fixed her tooth and advised her on follow-up care with her dentist back home. After that, we knew we had found our family dentist. He is very thorough, truly taking the time to carefully review your teeth. His shots of novocaine somehow don't hurt and he's gentle with fillings. More than any dentist I have seen he educates his patients to maintain a healthy mouth to avoid problems. He motivated me to take better care of my teeth than ever before. It's so nice to have someone we can trust who cares about each of his patients (and those who he sees just once. He still asks after my mother-in-law!). Highly recommend Dr. David! read more

My dentist retired (who was "fine") and I had two very poor dental clinics that I tried and left since that time (due to failure to provide both competent work and feeling informed when asking questions about my own oral health.) I had not been to the dentist in about 4 years before Dr. David. I have been going to Dr. David's office now for about 3 years. I was referred to Dr. David's office by an office colleague who said he was great. I asked around in the office for referrals and it turns out that 4 people were using Dr. David, too. All had the same comment. They have a very competent office manager and friendly and capable hygenists. Dr. David and the entire office are a class act. Here are some things whcih stood out in my mind: -consumate professionals -modern tech (computer in every hygenist room, all linked with my records, all digital x-ray rendering, mini-cams and photos of my teeth to show me and educate me if I had specific questions) -me centric. I was given options and explained everything. I could make decisions that would benefit my preferences. I ask a LOT of questions. I never feel like I am rushed and everything is explained to me in as much detail as I would like. - I like the entire team. I have a relationship with these people and they are nice, courteous and sincere, with my interests at heart. -great work - attention to detail, courteous to me and my well-being -education- I've learned a lot about oral hygiene and care in this office through Dr. David and team taking time to educate me I have seen enough consistency that I have personally referred 4 other people to Dr. David's office over the last few years and recommend him without hesitation. read more

Dr. David is the best. I'm in my 60's and have had several good dentist as I've moved around, but for the last 13 years I've gone to Dr. D and everything he has done has been top notch. He even gets you to floss in the nicest way possible. I would recommend him to anyone who has moved into the area and is looking for a new dentist for the next couple of decades (he's young enough with two little kids at home). GREAT STAFF, especially if you have Greg (a female Dental Technician with the most disarming smile) looking down on you as she cleans your teeth. My experience at Dr. Davoodpour's office was great. The dental hygienist did an amazing job with my teeth cleaning and was explaining and teaching me what she was doing in the process. Dr. Davoodpour gave me the most complete exam I have ever had in my life. I have been to many other dentists in the area, but I have never been to a dentist who made me feel so comfortable. My name is Shelley Block Lewis and I have been seeing Dr. David for about 7 years. I was referred to him from my late husband , Richard Lewis, who went to , when Dr. David took over the practice. He loved Dr. David and encouraged me to see the doctor. I had been going to my dentist for over 15 years and then he sold his practice and I was with the new dentist for 3 years. I was thinking of having veneers, but wasn't quite sure. Then I went to see Dr. David and was impressed with him, how he cared for my husband who was starting to get ill. He was excellent in caring for Richard's oral care and teeth , but was very kind to him. Dr. David took time to go over my medial history and teeth . So, I decided to try him out and was so happy with the first few visits. My teeth felt so clean and he treated my gums to. I then decided to do the veneers and was impressed with his work, and evidentially did the lowers also. Today I have a beautiful smile and natural teeth with a beautiful smile. My gums and teeth are so healthy now. And Dr. David took such good care of Richard, my late husband. Especially, when Richard ran out of this type of tooth paste , Dr. David drove over to my husband's place and made sure he had the right tooth paste. He truly cared for Richard and came over to see him, when I felt it was a good thing to do. He truly has been concern about how I was doing also, since Richard passed. Then, there is Kendra who is professional, sweet and a joy to see when I come to the office. Her role is very important. She is the office manager, bookkeeper , consultant and wears many hats. She truly keeps the office running smoothly and quite an asset to the medical practice. Gregg, (spell?) who is Dr. David surgical dental assistant. She is always pleasant, smiling and a lovely person in the office. They both work well together, and her job is quite necessary. She knows every surgical tool that needs to be used by the doctor and does an excellent job. Charmaine, I have had Charmaine who is the dental hygienist , when Dr. David is not working on me. Charmaine is gentle , professional, and does an excellent job in cleaning and caring for my teeth. I really don't know the other people in the office, but I'm sure they are all excellent in everything they do. "HORRIBLE DENTIST"I went into Dr. David Davoodpour for an exam and a cleaning. Despite the fact I have only had one (1) cavity my entire life, I was told I need 4 filling, few crowns and major gum treatment. I was too stunned to make any further appointments because I was both horrified that I had let my mouth deteriorate and worried about the huge dental bill I was facing. Instead, I decided to make an appointment with my dentist from back home. My two dentists all disagreed. In fact, I needed only two simple filling, simple cleaning and certainly not that many crowns and gum treatment!!!!! I am not sure what kind of a racket is going on in this dentist's office but I was very disappointed to learn that. Perhaps there is a difference in standards, where Dr Davoodpour to do more preventative drilling and filling, crowns, gum surgery, while my dentist from back home waits till there are actual problem, I don't know. I do know that this was not communicated to me at Dr David Davoodpour office. I was just told they were in fact needed to be drilled right away. I would not recommend him at all. read more
