While I was planning on selecting a surgeon here in Austin, I did not limit my search to just this city. I looked in all areas of Texas and even beyond. However, once I identified Dr Kemper, I was confident that I had found the best surgeon for my needs regardless of location. To be brief, Dr. Kemper is a fantastic surgeon. He listens well, explains himself and addresses any concerns with honesty and professionalism. Plus, he's done this procedure many, many times and knows exactly what needs to be done. To say "I trust him" is an understatement. I knew that my condition would be taken care of withit Dr Kemper. My surgery was 6 months ago. Not only did Dr Kemper live up to my expectations but I am happy to say that I am better today that I have been in many, many years. My condition is 100% corrected and there are no residual effects from the procedure; even my 8" scar is invisible and no nerve issues with my skin. I cannot thank him enough or recommend him any higher - he's the best. I would also like to thank his staff for their excellent care. Ironically, my condition required the partnership with an Austin Brain Surgeon who is also "Dr. Kemper". While they are not related, they both worked flawlessly as a team, and I am forever grateful. I was able to make an appointment on short notice. Dr. Nason was calming, caring, and considerate. He never talked down to me. Fortunately, the problem turned out to be only impacted wax. Meanwhile, however, he also had my hearing rested by an audiologist in his office, who was extremely helpful in suggesting ways to deal with my existing hearing loss. I'll see Dr. Nason for any future hearing issues and any other issues within the scope of his expertise. I recommend him and his whole office highly.

My father was in the hospital and they referred me to Dr Nason. This doctor's name was written on his discharge paperwork. I filed out the appointment form online with all the information, including his diagnosis/hospital info/and that the hospital wrote a referral. Someone called me a few days later and set him up an appointment for 3 1/2 weeks later. 24 hours before the appointment, they called to say this doctor won't see him for his diagnosis. My father has been suffering for over 3 weeks waiting to see this specialist. They refused to take any accountability for the situation or admit they put his health in danger. The office manager told me this is not their fault and blamed the ER. Then she blamed the call center schedulers. Completely unprofessional to shift the blame to your employees and then tell you it's not her problem.

And the major issue was I couldn't get hot without having a box of Kleenex with me. SO, as of today I can breathe through my nose & can go outside without any tissues. They were very thorough about telling me about what to expect during and after the procedure. They also called to check in with me the next day. This is the third ENT I have gone to in two years. The others just adjusted my ear crystals and sent me on my way. They actually did a lot more testing and found that I had other issues contributing to my vertigo. None of the other clinics had done that.

We were impressed by the thorough way Dr. Shepard and Rachel, the wonderful (PhD) Audiologist, conducted our exams and explained our results. Everyone was professional, thorough and genuinely friendly. All of our questions answered (in depth) and we even had a couple of good laughs along the way, and I'll never have to worry about my inner ear again!. Some of these doctors have God's syndrome; they think they don't make mistakes. According to the national medical statistics, when the patient reports a side effect of a medication, or a problem with a procedure which was done on them, 98% of the time, they are correct. At least one third of patients in the US die every year because of medical malpractice.

I went to Dr. Hicks after being referred by my GP for chronic tonsillitis and throat infections…read more After one look in my throat, Dr. Hicks suggested a full tonsillectomy. I asked him about the procedure and he was very forthcoming and informative. I went to the Austin Diagnostic Surgical Center off 360 for my procedure and the whole thing went very quickly and without a hitch. I never saw Dr. Hicks the day of my surgery though. The recovery was very rough, as expected, and Dr. Hicks' associate Dr. Bryarly was on call through the weekend. I had more communication with him about recovery problems and he was very helpful and always returned our calls. I was admitted into the hospital on Day 3 for dehydration and extreme pain and Dr. Bryarly was there to check me in. Dr. HIcks did eventually show up to my room the next day and didn't have much to say. He didn't even look at my throat, which I thought was odd. He did however prescribe me some great pain relievers which helped the rest of my recovery to be far less traumatic. But as far as the surgery goes, I was out like a light before I even remember being in the operating room. The wounds were very clean and neat, so to speak. My uvula was not swollen a bit, this can be a problem from doctors banging around back there. My face wasn't sore and my tongue felt untouched. I read a lot of stories about the horrible tongue pain (from the mouth clamps they use) and I had no issue. Based on videos I've watched and information I've read about tonsillectomies, Dr. HIcks did an excellent job of removing them. There was absolutely no post-op bleeding either. I would recommend both doctors at the ENT department of the ADC. Tonsillectomies are MUCH harder for adults and it won't be a fun or easy ride, but I'm glad it's over and I believe I was in good hands.
