I went to the dentist expecting to have at least a temporary crown put on. I was shocked when the dentist came in looked at my tooth confirmed that indeed my tooth veneer partly broke off. He told be I would have to come back and will be placed on a list for cancellations? In the meantime time I guess I cross my fingers that the rest of the veneer doesn't brake off??? I'm absolutely blown away that this dental office sent me away without any treatment. Not sure what to do at this point? Looking for another dentist I guess. You can never make an appointment without it be at least three weeks out..,,,very disappointed..... Be careful what you write on yelp. Out of my frustration writing my experience at Dr Scott office. I changed dentists from Jeffers Family Dental to Scott Family Dental. I went in for an exam & cleaning. I've switched over my whole family. The cleaning went well the staff was very nice. The only bummer was that the room was very cold and my cleaning was in December. It felt like the A/C was on. When I asked about the temp the hygienist stated it was because the employees wear a lot of clothes? I scheduled a filling because I had noticed I had a hole in the side of my tooth. I went to that appointment later and the Dad helped me - he was funny, friendly and efficient. The appointment was very fast. All staff were very nice. Then the last two times I have had a dental emergency it's been we have nothing available but I can put you on the cancellation list. Do they not understand the meaning of emergency?? I had my 6 month exam and cleaning today. The hygienist was great. I told Dr Scott that my husband, who is not his patient, was thinking about going to Mexico to have implants done because they are so expensive here and I may have work done also. I asked him if I did what work should I do first. He told me if I did that they would not be able to do my cleanings anymore. I didn't say I was going. He did my exam, about two minutes and left the room. The hygienist finished and made me an appointment for 6 months. I left the office, and was stopped by an employee who handed me a typed letter. She said Dr. Scott would no longer be my dentist and I would need to find another. He didn't even have the nerve to tell me himself and I was only inquiring. I've been a patient here for years and always paid out of pocket for major procedures without hesitation, even recommending this office to others. Unfortunately, a couple months ago my employer's insurance glitched for a month, and at that point I learned they no longer accept my plan. When I called to clarify, the staff was very rude and dismissive over the phone. After years of loyalty, I felt like I was dropped instantly without any courtesy or concern. As a man going on 70 years, I can say there has never been a time that I've longed to see a dentist. Doubt there are many who do. It is usually an aberration or pain that drives us to the dentist' chair. That's what occurred to me recently. I'm glad I listened to a friend who told me he was wonderful person-and doctor-and I experienced that to be true. I found in every aspect of his Practice, from his own expert and gentle care, and through warmth and efficiency of all his staff I dealt with. It was also wonderful to view incredible cinematography on the ceiling above the chair I reclined in. It was also wonderful to have a horrific experience of pain so sensitively and efficiently taken care. And that extended to my pocketbook, lol. But, from when I walked in, consultation, cleaning and x-rays I felt like I was treated well and the technicians are very professional. Lets keep it real, I have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I had my first exam and cleaning a few weeks ago and I have to say, it went SO well. The staff is friendly, the reception/waiting room was clean and welcoming, they even had calming music playing! Emily cleaned my teeth and definitely helped calm my nerves and answered any questions I had. She also suggested a new oral care routine and taught me how to proper floss around my lingual bar. Today I went back to get a couple fillings done. I was able to get a prescription of calming/anti anxiety meds before the appointment. The combination of the meds, the music, and the rather large TV showing beautiful scenery, and the awesome staff, and Dr. Kyle Scott's gentle hands, I basically fell asleep during my appointment! Long story short, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Scott's office for your dental needs. read more

We were in the office today and they had no hand sanitizer for us after asking us to use a tablet touched by their staff's bare hands and by other patients. They said they had no hand sanitizer. Front desk asked other staff who said she had brought some in from home because "he doesn't want to pay for it." They never brought any up front. I went to my car and brought my own & I left it on the counter for future patients. If they're trying to skimp to save money on sanitizer what else are they skimping on? We were already there so we kept the appointment but I'm not taking my family back for any more care there. Also I noticed that staff takeoff their masks when there's not a client in the same room with them. This is a completely open place with no walls to contain and airborn particles.That is not safe practice. The virus is airborne. I am a healthcare worker I did not feel safe here. read more

Was quoted one price on the phone, wound up being charged double at the end of my visit. Furthermore, I was never shown the X-ray that I paid $99 for. They just referred me to an oral surgeon. Great experience for last 2 years at Scott Dentistry. Really appreciate that they are well run operationally, have friendly staff, and they DON'T upsell me on too many unneeded or cosmetic dentistry offerings. They have made very good judgments and had me delay some procedures because not urgent, where our previous dentist wanted to constantly do more work that I deemed low priority or even unnecessary. The visits are extremely efficient. The hygienists and dentists stay focused, on task, and get my family out very quickly. My daughters can be very critical of dentists offices (we've moved around the world many times so change often and they've experienced the great and terrible) and they've been very happy at Scott Dentistry. And I do enjoy catching up on good kid movies, as they have overhead TVs in each room :-). read more

Wow. I have never had such a horrible experience in any medical office.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! As a medical professional myself I am quite aware of the standards of conduct in this field. My initial appointment was decent, although Steven hardly looked into my mouth before diagnosing me with $2500 worth of dental work. The X-ray tech was the only person I liked in that office. The receptionist that gave me my quote for the dental work DID NOT EXPLAIN PAYMENET PROCEDURE. I went in for my first appointment, waited 20 minutes and then was told to provide the entire amount for all of the procedures. I told them I could bring the total to them after and they refused and asked me to go home and get payment. Barbara was the most UNPROFFESIONAL receptionist I have ever experienced-she was argumentative, belittling and made me feel even more anxious than I ever have. Dentistry is often an appointment people get anxiety over and they could not have been more apathetic. I told them I was unhappy and the other receptionist told me she was so sorry and I should come back and give them another chance. I was expecting to come back today and then got an email saying to call urgently. They informed me I should find a new dentist. This practice obviously doesn't communicate and I am SO glad to find another dentist! I will be telling my 120 coworkers in my office to stay far away from them. This office needs to get it together and learn how to respect their patients or they will be out of business soon. It really makes me sad for their future patients and proud that my office would never treat their patients like that. read more

I love this place! Dr. Kyle Scott is super professional, knowledgeable, confident and kind. His assistant Elisha is compassionate and sweet. A perfect team. When I first came here I had alot of discomfort, trouble eating and had already lost a tooth. Dr. Scott put me on a treatment plan and took wonderful care of me with zero pain. Now I am good as new. I have to mention Shannon the dental hygenist. She keeps you at ease and has the gentlest touch ever! In addition, Claudia, Marisol and Barbara are exceptional at maximizing your dental benefits and are by far the friendliest and most competent staff I have ever interacted with in a health care setting. At the age of 53, I have now been to many dentists in my life (maybe a dozen). I have to say that Dr. Scott, Dr. Kuo and the entire staff (from receptionists to accounting/billing to dental hygienists) are top notch! They are expecptionally good at what they do and they all work together like a finely tuned machine. Not only are they nice, friendly and super efficient but they have a state of the art modern facility. They have a no nonsense style that gets right to the heart of diagnosing your dental needs and then analyzing your insurance plan to make recommendations on what options you have for treatment. For this type of a first class operation I would expect to pay full price, but they have some of the most reasonable fees around. Trust me when I say that I have compared their fees with many others.....I am a father of 4 and with 6 people in our family I have dealt with just about every type of dental procedure you can think of over the past couple of decades. They say you get what you pay for, but in the case of Scott Family Dental you have the exception to that rule....a first class operation for sure. read more

I've been going to Dr Scott for the past couple of years after moving down from Lake Tahoe. I had a great dentist up at the lake and needed to find another down here in Sonoma County. I have teeth cleanings 3 times per year and had a bridge implanted since my first visit. All work has been excellent and my hygienists (Anong and Shannon) are the best! Horrible experience. Had a severe toothache and they were in my dental insurance network so I gave them a shot. They got me in quickly and seemed nice on the phone. But once I got in the office it went bad from there. First while waiting in the lobby for them to see me, the office manager and dental assistant were having a very heated discussion just outside the lobby. Talking very loudly, cursing and just behaving very unprofessionally. I was a bit taken about by the behavior. Especially when they were talking about not helping certain clients cause they didn't want to deal with them. They finally took me back for xrays. When the doctor arrived to look at the xrays he just talked to his assistant about them and barely anything to me. He seemed rushed and she made it clear that they needed to get me out cause they needed the room. Finally he told me that I was going to probably need a root canal and that there was some other teeth that had issues but he would get to that later. Then he took me to the front desk to make an appt. I had to push him to give me more information about the other work he thought I needed. Then his assistant told me that the soonest appt he could give me was in 2 weeks!!! I'm in severe pain I told him. He then told me the best he could to was to refer me to a "specialist" that was out of my insurance company network so I would of course have to pay a whole lot more. I got the distinct feeling he didn't even want to work on me. Why I don't know. Everyone was very rude there and they treated me like I was just trying to get a prescription for pain meds - which was insulting. Unprofessional and made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them and too much work. Found another dentist and had my xrays transferred. They were even rude about that. Dr. Steven Scott performed a root canal on me. Before the procedure, I told him I had never had a root canal and that I was trusting his expertise to do it right. Perhaps I could have been more tactful, because his subsequent behavior makes me wonder if he resented my honesty. He has a TV screen on the ceiling for patients to look at during procedures. While I was watching a movie, and for no apparent reason, Dr. Scott took the remote and advanced the movie several scenes, then went back to working on my tooth. He did this again later, again for no apparent reason. I thought it odd, but didn't object. Later I would characterize it as passive-aggressive behavior. After he finished the root canal, he stood, removed his gloves and mask, and just left the room, without so much as a word to me. By the next day, I was in excruciating pain and couldn't even eat. I called the office and the receptionist called Dr. Scott at home. He told her to tell me to take Advil and Tylenol for the pain. That worked for about three hours, then the pain would come back. The next day I called again and reported the ongoing pain. Though I never spoke with him, he phoned in a prescription for Ampicillin (?), an antibiotic. Several days after I started taking the prescription medication, I began to feel better. Although the acute pain is gone, I now have trouble eating hot and cold foods and those that are sweet or sour. This was not the case before I had the root canal. I can't be sure that Dr. Scott did anything wrong, but if nothing else, he exhibited unprofessional behavior. I have an appointment for a routine cleaning in five months, but I intend to cancel it and will look for another dentist. read more

Dr. Scott is quick, friendly, and upfront about treatment and costs. He doesn't overdiagnose or pressure you to do more than necessary. They also have the latest 3D digital X-ray tech, and it only took me 5 minutes to do a full set: pretty cool. His hygienists are passionate about patient care and their overall health, and seem to really enjoy working there. Scott's office staff have been the most helpful: I've rarely run across a team so wiling to work with you on insurance, tell you upfront what's covered, and bend over backwards to make things work when they can! I've had some pretty negative experiences with other offices hiding charges, upselling and over-billing, and can't overestimate the need for honest and helpful dentistry like what's found here. I've recently quit this dentistry service in Windsor, CA. I've been using them for quite a few years . .. and have had several complaints in the service one of which was the last straw. A cap fell out and I was able to retrieve it to be put back in. It took more than 2 weeks to get an appointment. When the dentist came in to do the work he said that I should have come in right away because teeth can shift when a cap comes in. I told him that this was the earliest appointment that his office gave me and NO ONE informed me that I should come in right away. When I told the dentist that I was not informed of this and that his office did not give me an appointment for 2 weeks, he did not take ANY responsibility for that. When I responded that maybe I should use a different dentistry service, he agreed . .. he seemed quite offended that I was upset and told me it would be good if I used another service. .. it was all shocking . .and it was not the first time that this dentistry office would not acknowledge any suggestion that they were not taking care of my needs . . seems like they are running really defensive . . .who knows how many other complaints have been made. . . . read more
