My friend and I are both getting married this year. We downloaded the David's bridal app and schedule appointments for the same time at the Northlake location. We were able to try on dresses right next to each other. My stylist was Kaya. She was a total sweetheart. You can tell she really enjoys her job. She made me feel comfortable, and picked styles I probably would've over looked. I've been to several boutiques with more expensive dresses and snootier staff. Originally I didn't even consider looking at a davids bridal because they are a big franchise. I have had 3 total experiences as a customer with this store. The reason this is 4 stars rather than 5 is that my first experience (Summer 2014) was AWFUL - I was shopping for a bridesmaid dress and my consultant was too consumed with a migraine to talk to me or give me any information. Though I felt terrible for her situation, I feel like they should have paired me with a consultant that was able to be more interactive with their customers. I ended up buying a dress that was the wrong size/length and then had to pay out the rear end to have it altered at their store. I wish I could say this was a one time only situation, but during that time when I was coming in to pick it up and various alterations, the customer service was very poor and I found myself resenting my purchase. Fast forward to Fall/Winter 2016-2017, now as a bride. My work colleagues surprised me with a visit to this store one night after work to try on dresses. My consultant was Mindy and she was truly fantastic - so personable, kind, friendly, informative, you name it, she had all the great qualities. It was a wonderful experience but I got wrapped up in the moment and purchased a dress and veil that I didn't love but my love of pleasing people won. I stewed over it for a few weeks and tried another bridal place by myself. Long story to be made short, I found a dress at another location. Now I had 2 dresses and a hurting wallet. Here comes Samantha to the rescue! I came back into this David's and told Samantha about my situation and they were incredibly helpful and understanding. I was able to trade my dress and veil that I bought with them in for flower girl dresses, shoes, various accessories and a different veil. My future daughter-in-law and I stopped in to look at dresses and see her options. Her wedding is informal so she wanted something simple. They took us right in and Lisa gave us all her attention. She was absolutely wonderful suggesting and bringing several dresses. We left for lunch and to talk about the dresses. When we came back she had decided on a dress but wanted to ask the tailer about an alteration. Even though they were super busy they took her into the alteration room and worked with her to alter her dress choice perfectly. Everyone was so nice and worked to make her happy. My sister and I Initially went to David's location in Pineville for my mother-of-the groom dress. The staff was excellent, attentive and helpful. Gave us full reign to look at dresses and try on any dress that I was interested in. The dress I liked best was not in my size so my sister and I decided to try the David's at Northlake. What a disaster. My call to make an appointment was disconnected twice and I never received confirmation of my appointment. Should have known then. Assistant assigned to help me was totally indifferent. She told us that we were not allowed to touch any dresses. Then she asked about the bride's color pallet. When I showed her, she refused to select any dresses for me that were not on that spectrum. When we pointed out other dresses, she said that they were not my size. When we wandered to the bridesmaid section, she commented that there would be nothing for me there. She never made any attempt to suggest other colors or styles insisting on me trying only the 3-4 dresses which she chose. This was my first time trying on dresses. Horrible !!! I wish I could give no stars!! After paying in full for bridesmaid dresses and signing an agreement that I would pick up my dresses within a week of delivery or risk them being "disposed of"... I found that the dresses had been in the store waiting but I had no call or email!!!! They notified the bride ( who of course is already overwhelmed) despite having my number and email listed??!! So upon picking up the dresses (in the nick of time) they were just handed to me to take home...both were creased and horrible looking. No fitting was offered, no steaming to make them presentable. After reading the poor reviews on this location, i decided to still give it a shot...I should have trusted the reviews. This being my first experience trying on wedding dresses since getting engaged, i was thrilled and excited. Upon walking in the door I was greeted but it was more or less short. I was asked my name and wedding date. No excitement when being greeted but no big deal. Im not going to name my consultant. She was fairly nice in the beginning. I was brought over to a room and had my future sister in law and future mother in law with me. I gave my consultant a few ideas of what I wanted to try on and she pulled the wrong dresses. I told her that they were not the ones I had chose to try on and she told me that they were "basically" the same. If I walk into the door with no budget... I want THE dress I choose...not one thats "basically" the same. The true reason this rating is so poor is because not once, but twice, the consultant told me to lose some weight so that I could fit into the dress. My direction from her was to lose a few pounds so I could fit into a size 10. I almost cried. I felt like running for the door. I was so in shock of what she said that I couldn't even concentrate on the dresses and the experience. I had full intentions on spending alot of money on a dress, but I will never spend my money or time at this location. Please dont waste your time coming here. I emailed davids bridal due to an order i wanted to place. Their customer service emailed back giving me back a number which ended being a fraud. they charged my card for a different amount of what i wanted. when I called back Davids bridal to see what was going on they said that number was not of their company and they said they couldnt do anything about it. Very unhappy with this fraud or whatever they sent me too. Everyone should be carefull who they speak to in that company. read more

When I tried on dresses before I bought it they were awesome! Yesterday I went to pick it up and it'd been a few months so I wanted to try it on before I left...I felt like I was getting a little attitude and wasn't helped with getting it on nothing! I told them I wanted to bag for my dress and the woman said she would get it for me...never did. Finally the girl that does alterations actually helped me in my dress...I feel they should give me the same attention that I received when I bought my dress! I need alterations a head peice and a few other things and my daughter needs a dress but NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THERE! I made an appointment to look at bridesmaid dresses. I am the maid of honor, and the bride lives in NY so it was important for me to pick out the dresses for the rest of the bridal party. The "stylist" I worked with was very rude and not helpful at all. I had to find all the dresses myself, and had to get myself different sizes as well. So much for the hour long appointment with a "personal" stylist. When I asked for advice she seemed frustrated with me, and even at one point said "oh, you're still here." My daughter came home in tears after one of the seamstresses called her fat and ridiculed her for buying a dress that didn't fit her and said she would never lose enough weight to fit into the dress. I brought it to the store's attention as did her friends and they offered to "make things right". Today, we go in for her wedding dress fitting. The alteration manager did her fitting but then at the end when got the bill they took off only $60 for the alterations. Additionally, I get yelled at twice by a manager to not touch anything. She does not offer to assist me nor is there any signage saying not to touch anything. I felt stupid being yelled at like a child and the $60 is suppose make up for my beautiful daughter being treated so badly. Worst experience ever! If it wasn't for Mycal we would have probably left. The 2 ladies that were working were so rude and didn't want to be bothered at all. I wish I had gotten their names to call corporate on them. I may still go back and just find out to do that. We even had an appointment and the one lady that was supposed to check us in had very bad attitude walked away and never checked us in. She didn't want to be bothered. Went this Davids Bridal with my sister. We made am appointment for 9am. When we arrived we were introduced to our consultant. We walked the racks and picked out a few dresses. As soon as we started trying on dresses our consultant kept disappearing. She would put her in the dress and leave immediately without even hearing what the Bride had to say. She was no help at all. She didn't care if we were taken care of or if she had an opinions on what she liked/disliked in a dress. We were looking to find "the dress" and we eventually had to help her out of the dress ourselves and leave during the appointment because we were being ignored. read more

I visited this store last week with my Mom and my niece. I am getting married in September and I live out of town. My niece is in my wedding and so when I came to visit we decided to go look for her dress. When we walked in, it took a while before we were greeted, and it seemed like an inconvenience that we were there. I will preface this by saying there was only 1 other group in the store. We were told where the bridesmaid dresses were and then we were on our own. We picked out 4 dresses and were able to get into a dressing room. I will say at that point Sarah helped us out and she was very friendly and helpful! My niece picked out the dress she liked. I asked Sarah about how long it would take to get the dress. She said we would have it within plenty of time. She also said that it was 25% off today! We then went up front to pay for the dress and the other not so helpful woman ( I think she was the manager) started to ring us up. She asked when the wedding was and I said September 7. She typed in a few things and then said, "well I have to call for an override, the system says that you won't get it till September 13". So she calls and then hangs up the phone and says, "Nope, you won't get it in time, you need to pick out another dress." and then walks away. We walked out of the store pretty upset. However, the most upsetting thing was......I decided to look up the dress online on their website. I found it and it said "INSTOCK AND READY TO SHIP". I ordered the dress right then, in the color and size we needed and we are supposed to get it within 2 weeks!!!! Another bad part is, we didn't get the sale that was in the store. WTH David's Bridal??? Why is it that I am IN your store and you can't get the dress but I can go online and get it??!! I shouldn't have to do that. That is bad customer service...real bad. read more

I am only rating this one star because I have to give a rating. If it were up to me I would rate this location ZERO stars. Hands down the worst customer service I've ever received. I came in to get a veil matched to my wedding dress. I put in my name and was directed to where the veils were located, and was told someone would be sent back to help me. I waited 50 minutes and was never acknowledged by an associate again during those 50 minutes. The frustrating part was that customers who had come into the store after me were being put into dressing rooms. A simple matching would have taken maybe 15 minutes, if even that. I went to the David's Bridal at Northlake, and I had a wonderful experience. My consultant's name was Erica, and she was absolutely great to work with. She was able to start my appointment right on time, even though she was still working with another bride whose appointment had run long. Erica pulled some dresses that I liked first, and graciously helped me in and out of each one. When I wasn't really thrilled with any of the ones I had picked, she picked a few that she thought I might like. She ended up bringing me the most gorgeous dress. It was something I never would have considered for myself, but she felt like it had the look and feel I was going for, so she brought it for me to try on anyway. It ended up being absolutely perfect in every way, and I bought it on the spot! The only real "bad" part of the appointment was that Erica was really busy helping me and 2 other brides at the same time. Apparently there was some kind of issue with the scheduling, because David's had booked a whole bunch of appointments during the Carolina Bridal Fair (where I booked my appointment), and they hadn't had a chance to finish putting all of the appointments into their computer system yet. They schedule their consultants based on how many appointments they have booked, so since not all the appointments from the Bridal Fair were in the system, they hadn't scheduled enough consultants to work on that day. This might have bothered some people, but I really didn't mind. It sucked a little that I wasn't able to have her full, undivided attention, and there were several times when I was left alone to just hang out in a dress while she was helping someone else, but it didn't bother me that much. Erica was so sweet about the whole thing, and she was so helpful that I didn't really mind that she was so busy. Overall, I would say my experience was great. read more

Horrible experience! I went in today with my best friend who is getting married in September. We sat up an appointment last week with a bridal appointment at 4 and a bridesmaid appointment at 5:30. We arrived at 3:50 and was told to sign in and look around and they would get someone for us. We weren't seen by anyone until 4:20, 20 minutes after our appointment time and 30 minutes after being in the store. We saw Sandra and she was awful! She shook my friends hand and then looked at me and in a sing-song kiddy way said "Oh you brought your little friend!". I do look young, but not like a child. I am 24 years old, a teacher, married, and have a child of my own. I smiled and said "I'm actually older than her" and she was just like "you look so young"! I already felt turned off. Sandra told us to go get the dresses we had liked. We didn't know we were suppose to pull any when looking so just hurriedly grabbed a few from the rack because we felt pressured and rushed now. She took us to a dressing room and brought my friend a slip and corset, which was not the right size even after we told her what size we needed. She helped my friend into her first gown and then went off to help another customer who was trying on flower girl dresses. We stood and waited for 10 minutes so I eventually helped my friend into her other dress. After finally returning, Sandra didn't have much to offer. She never once asked what my friend liked - style, color, fit, etc. She drug us over to the racks again and began pulling other stuff. She pulled several dresses that were a size 16W when my friend is a 10 to 12! She pulled those sizes because she didn't even ask what size my friend was. I finally asked if we could pull some A Line dresses because my friend had tried on some at other places and she liked them. Sandra's response was "we don't have them organized by style. They are all mixed in" and then didn't even offer to help find some! After trying on several dresses with no help or input from Sandra, we decided to move on to bridesmaid dresses. She took us over to the rack and basically said here they are, pick some out. I told her I was wearing a long dress and the other girls were in short dresses and we didn't want strapless. She pointed us to where the strap dresses were and then walked off to the counter. She never came back to help us with bridesmaid dresses. We were so turned off that we didn't even try any on. Sandra didn't do one thing at the appointment. She was absent most of the time and when she was present she was rude and had no valuable input whatsoever. My friend and I both agreed that we won't buy from any David's Bridal after this experience. We would much rather spend more money at a small family owned business that cares about their sales and customers than a large cooperation that could care less about their customers. read more

I went here for the sole purpose of trying on the bridesmaid dress my friend was leaning towards for her wedding. I was greeted nicely and immediately given someone to assist me even though I had no appointment. I told the consultant the dress I needed and she went to find it on the posters they have. However, it's a new design so it wasn't on the poster but she was able to find it quickly. She set me up in a dressing room and came back and checked out the final product and had a couple of nice things to say about how it looked but I'm not sure if that was just her routine with people or she genuinely meant it. Either way, she was a pretty nice person until I asked for other ideas of dresses to try while I was there (since the bride is open minded, I figured I should find some other styles if I wanted something different). Our consultant kind of walked away at that point and began helping somebody else and never came back. I waited for several minutes and ended up just leaving the store. The consultant was at the counter near the door but did not bother to acknowledge me or say bye (neither did the greeter person). So. I'm getting married on September 29th. I was planning on getting my entire wedding party (10) my mother's dress, my fiance's mother's dress, his tux, and my dress all at David's Bridal. Yesterday, I tried to call two local stores in Charlotte. Pineville didn't even answer. Mind you, I called several times for several hours. I THEN called North Lake (I'm persistent and wanted a wide selection). First, I called and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I was driving so I waited - never got back to me. Then I called back later - someone picked up the phone and hung it up. This is all before I even visited the store. So - not going with David's Bridal. Also - I tried to cancel my appointments. Your online platform won't allow me to find my appointment again. I would call to cancel but no one would answer the phone. So I guess I'll be a no show. Horrible service! read more

I understand it's prom season but there was no reason for the completely rude and unprofessional "customer service" we were shown. This was our first pick to find my sister's wedding dress. The one associate that did talk to us took the dresses we had found out of our hands saying quote "I am not going to tolerate this today" and then rudely telling us we have to go check in and not touch any other dresses. While standing in line waiting to sign in the associate at the desk was not paying attention to the customers in front of her and instead was telling another associate who was helping a customer to "wrap it up" as if the customer was not standing there beside her looking at dresses. When we first arrived we waited roughly 10 minutes at the desk before we were greeted. We had travelled over an hour, so stretching our legs was fine, it just seemed a bit excessive. When the "receptionist" completed our profile, she introduced us to Seaira, our consultant. She told us to look around while she finished up with her previous client, which wasn't a huge deal because we had no idea what we were doing. We had looked at a few dresses online, so we pulled them as we looked. When Seaira was done with her "other bride," she took the dresses and showed us to our room. The room was all of a four by four box with no mirrors. We tried on the three dresses and Seaira offered to switch out one dress for a different size. And offered one more selection. She showed us different accessories and we settled on a few options. We weren't thrilled by the selection of accessories, but we were ecstatic that we found the dress. We ended up ordering one, solely because the sample was stained. We are due to get it in in a few weeks and have it altered. Hopefully the alteration department is a little better than the selection and the wait time. But Seaira was great, especially compared to some of the other consultants that were there that day. read more

I would just avoid this place. No one is helpful and everyone is in a bad mood. My consultant was distant and not once was I asked about the type of dress I was looking for. The ladies I brought with me picked out the dresses for me to try on. The dressing rooms are tiny and there are no mirrors so my group saw the dresses before I did. My consultant began taking care of another bride before my appointment was over and most of the time she was no where to be found. One super annoying occurrence was when I was looking in one of the mirrors and the consultant walked in front of me, blocking my view, to help her next bride. I would think you would want to develop a relationship with me on the chance that I did want to buy a dress from her. I assume they work on commission, after all. Absolutely no personality and when she did communicate with me, it was often negative and "we don't have that." Even if I wanted to buy a dress, I wouldn't have known how to because the moment I took off the last dress, the consultant was no where to be found. I think you should be told a ball park figure about alterations up front and given a choice to take your dress else where for that because i was hit with an extra 300.00 that i wasnt expecting. This place doesn't even deserve a star. The associates are rude and very short. I ordered a bridesmaid dress August 1st and was initially told it would be a 6 week order. 6 weeks rolled around so I called up there and it had turned into a twelve week order. This means the dress was supposed to come in October 24. The dress came in EVEN LATER than that, and the wedding is on November 8th. Once I finally got fitted for the dress, they tried charging me a rush fee to get it altered because the wedding was so soon. They are very unhelpful and did extremely sloppy work to my bride's gown. 2/21/2015 We had a 5 pm appointment. After my daughter and her fiance drove in from Carborro NC I was 6 minutes late getting them and 4 of her bridesmaids to the Davids Bridal at North Lake mall. I dropped them of at the door. I parked and went in to join them. We stood in line for 30 minutes waiting to be helped along with others in line. I had $8,000.00 cash in my pocket to spend on the bridesmaids dresses. My daughter had picked out which ones that she wanted in the Durham store and wanted the girls to try them on at the North Lake location. We were snapped at for being 30 minutes late, (no one told her that we would have to arrive an hour earlier to stand in line for an appointment) My daughter told them which dress and the color, bluebird, that we wanted the girls to try on for size and then order. The woman told her that that color is no longer available, there was none of that color in their store and no other color in that style dress. She turned up her nose and went to the desk and avoided us. I followed her to the desk and asked for a phone number for the website because I have had a problem trying to order a "mother of the bride" dress. I was rudely told that they don't carry "anything" off of the website because the web site has inferior products then she took her coat and pocketbook and left the store. We then tried to get help from someone else, they also avoided us. The only thing that I can say about this store is if your white you might as well not even bother wasting your time much less trying to get help at this store. I walked out with my $8,000.00 cash and a Very bad, mad and rotten taste in my mouth about these bigoted prudes. My daughter had purchased her wedding dress at the Durham NC Davids Bridal store. She had very courteous and professional help at that location. I will Never Ever give Davids Bridal any of my business if they were the last store open on the face of the earth. The staff at this location are very rude. I have gone here several different times. during the week the staff is more laid back and helpful. But on the weekend is chaotic ad the staff is rude. One Saturday I drove 45 minutes to this location and the young lady at check in told me I should come back another day preferably during the week to try on a dress because they couldn't help me. I refused, because during the week I work in downtown Charlotte but I live in Concord and it was for my daughter. So that means drive from Charlotte, to Concord back to Charlotte. NO WAY, So after waiting 10 minutes they found help. In the midst of all that , I saw brides walking in and wanting to try on dresses and were told they can't , they need to make an appt, and if they decided to stay no one would be able to help them. Thats crazy. The little young girl at the check in is sooo rude, she walked off after telling the lady that. As if she was frustrated.Retail is not her forte. Anyway, The consultant that was helping me walked away while my daughter tried on 1 dress, she wasn't even worried about us. The dress was too big and it was a size 2, so I knew she needed a smaller size. So I put the dress on the rack and asked the lady at the front desk if they carried a size 0 at all. Anyway , ( I think she is the manager) was very nice and helped me. She measured my daughter, wrote down the measurements and said they don't carry a size 0 at their location and that I can try the Pineville location. She gave me the number. I had a horrible experience with the ladies at this location from day one. I went with my grandmother to look at my wedding dress that I had found online and also look at options for my bridesmaid dresses. The lady at the front counter was absolutely no help. She told me to find my dress "in the corner." I was never assigned a particular person to work with or to help me. I found the dress I wanted and asked if they had it in a different size. The answer I received was a short and snappy "no." There was no offer to order it from a different store or anything. I finally asked if ordering it online or from a different store and having it shipped to me was an option and she wrote down their number and told me to call and find out. Luckily, I was able to get the dress, but, with no thanks to her. I called back a few days later to get a model number for the dress that I had looked at for my bridesmaids and was interrupted mid sentence for her to tell me it wasn't in my "events" under my name. They told us the shoes we wanted were not able to be ordered online, yet when we checked the next day they were cheaper than in the store and available in all sizes. The employee who helped us was very rude and would not even answer general questions unless we were purchasing something from the store. So I found my dress here and that is the most important thing to me. That I actually found a dress I loved. However, the alterations truly made me not want to do business here again. We went in for my second fitting and got there 20min early. They had to call the woman that we were here 4 times. We waited for over an hour. Finally we went back to the alterations area and this woman was chatting with her friends and blamed US for being late. Then I got my dress and it was cut much too short, and there was slack on the top. The woman insisted this is how it was supposed to look and that it will look great when I'm all put together. My mother tried to tell her it was not right be she started to get testy with us and rushed us out like I was annoying her and she just wanted to go take her break or something. So we take the dress home and upon closer look they didn't even match back up!! It was off by about an inch! How can you miss something so big. And shame on us for signing the confirmation papers because we are so unhappy with how it came out. We will not be using their services again. Be warned. read more

It is worth the drive to the Pineville, NC location for better customer service. Called with style number in hand, asked for the dress or a similar one for me to try on to ensure I order the right size for my bridesmaid dress. The first thing I encounter was a snip remark about how the dress takes 20 weeks to order when advising the wedding was in September, 2017. I advised the Bride said to order by 3/18/17. Plus online shows a delivery date of late July/2017 if ordered online. With hesitation she finally goes to look while i am on hold. Comes back in less than 2 minutes, saying dress not in stock and no dresses similar and that no one has that dress in the store. I hung up and went straight to Yelp, while on the phone with the Pineville location. The Pineville location had me on hold for about 7 minutes and came back saying that dress was not in stock, however they have a similar dress for me to try on and asked if i wanted to set an appointment. So i will be driving a good 40 minutes bypassing the Charlotte location that is a good 20 minutes from my home, simply for BETTER customer service. read more

Only reason they are recieving a 1 is because of the lady that was helping me try on dresses really was trying to give me attention and trying to find me a wedding dress. The rest of the staff was AWFUL!! I had a bridal appointment set up for 1pm I got done early at another appointment and live 2 hours away we called store to ask if could come early they said they could not gaurentee me early.....understandable....but we discussed looking at bridesmaid dresses while we waited...they agreed.....we found multiple bridesmaid dresses but needed to try them on. Went to the staff and they refused to allow my 2 bridesmaids to try on a handful of dresses because it wasnt my appointment time and they were not allowed back without help i was told to wait about 30-45 minutes....but 2 other females went to desk about 10 minutes after me to try on dresses without appointment and only waited 5 minutes if that for a dressing room. about 10 minutes after i put back dresses and got a breath of fresh air we returned. We then only waited about 10 minutes and an associate came to get me...she allowed my bridesmaids to try on dresses while i pulled gowns to try on. She was sweet and trying to make me smile. After getting into my first gown she was then called away so my sister just helped me in and out. The associate returned and apologized she was pulled to assist people with bridesmaid dresses. My sister continued to help me for the rest of the time i was there. I will never go back to this store. I suggest picking another davids bridal to visit. read more

My "purchase" experience was great...Until alterations. My mother spend $400 on alterations for my dress; they turned out great. I was told i could bring the dress back in for a free steaming before my wedding ceremony. I did so last week and was told in alterations (very rude) that this is a $40 charge. I explained that I had called twice regarding this and the clerk continued to talk over me and argue. I left the dress because I have no choice; however I have filed a complaint with the DB corporate office. We shall see how far their customer services goes! I will never purchase ANYTHING else here again. My entire wedding party purchased here as well. read more
