Future brides may want to carefully review cancellation policies and visit multiple stores before making a final decision. Be 100% sure you want it. I felt like I had made a terribly wrong decision within 12 hours. My dress wasn't in the store, so it was ordered to be shipped and ready by the end of the month. We were charged $250 for cancelling an order the next day. One day later, 24 hours, that's all. This was one of those, "I'm sorry, but this $250 charge is non-negotiable due to costs incurred for cancellation." It was just 24 hours. The sale entailed a lot of smoke and mirrors while standing on a raised platform, ringing a bell, getting a photo with a sign saying "I found the one", then psych studies say you're a believer, until you wake up the next day. I did my bridal dress shopping here and the sales associates were so attentive and encouraging. I could tell they were trying to get some more sales, offering extras like shoes and veils, but these are all considerations anyway and they had some good advice and listened to what I wanted. For example, I didn't want a veil and they offered ideas for other accessories. It was a very busy day, and our stylist was assigned to two groups, despite the split attention, there was always someone by to help and they truly made the experience a memorable one. My daughter is getting married next July, so we took my 81 year old mother to try on "grandmother of the bride" dresses on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. She lives out of state, and this was one of the few times we would all be together to go shopping. She found an outfit that she liked and when we went to the cash register, she was given the option to buy the one off the floor, or order a new one. She opted to order a new one to make sure that it was in perfect condition. We were told the dress would arrive on December 24th. Imagine our surprise when we received a text on the day after Thanksgiving at 10:19 am telling us that the outfit was in the shop. We did not believe that it had been shipped so quickly over Thanksgiving, but went to the store to look at the item. I asked if it was the one off the floor, but I was told it had been shipped from another location. I went to check the rack and surprise, the size that my mom had tried on (and ordered) was missing from the rack. The girl at the front continued to insist that it was a different outfit and told me that even if it was one that had been tried on multiple times, it was in pristine condition. She offered to get the manager, but then came back without the manager. (This happened at least two other times--she went to get the manager, but the manager didn't come.) I told her that I wanted to look at the outfit to make sure there were no problems with it. I noticed instantly that the beadwork on the next was stretched out and misaligned. I pulled the same outfit in a different size off the rack and showed the difference. At this point, the manager finally came. She asked what my complaint was about the dress and I said that the beading wasn't right. Also, that we had ordered a new dress, and this didn't seem to be new. She asked what was wrong with it. It was very clear to see that it was stretched out and not lying flat. We said repeatedly that we had opted to order a new outfit, and this clearly wasn't new from the warehouse. She became rude and combative and said that we could return the outfit and order a different one. I told her that I wasn't returning anything-- I wasn't accepting the outfit in the condition it was in. The manager continued to be rude and argumentative to try to convince me that this was the quality they receive from their warehouse and that steaming it might fix it. At this point, I was tempted to get a refund and go somewhere else, but my mother and daughter had already left for home, so finding a time to shop together would be very challenging. The employee and manager lied to us about the outfit--it definitely wasn't new from the warehouse, and then tried to justify the problems by saying that it came that way. We have now "returned" and ordered a "new" one--They have promised me that they will check the beading on the "new" outfit when it is delivered before they call us to make sure that it's ok. They should be doing that to anything that leaves their shop anyway! This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a dress shop that caters to brides and wedding parties. I would not recommend that anyone purchase from them. They lied to us, they tried to cover it up, and they were extremely rude throughout. read more

After buying a very expensive wedding dress at a boutique and losing to much weight for it to get alterations, I decided to check out David's bridal for a cheaper dress option. My sister actually picked out this dress and showed it to me and instantly I was in love, and it didn't need any alterations and was a quarter of the price I originally paid. (Truthfully I didn't even like the first dress I bought) and this dress made me feel absolutely stunning!!!! It wasn't even similar to my last dress but felt so much more me! Weirdest vibes ever. It was a 2:00pm apt and we got there on time and got told to sit in the shoe section and they'd send someone out. 2:10 rolls around and I just politely checked in to see where they were. The alterations lady did come out but she doesn't say hi how are you or ANYTHING just says "come with me in a gruff tone. I put the dress on and just stand there for 10 min and you hear them in the back going "the bride is ready but (the seamstress) is not. I can't help I have a 2:20 coming in". My friend was reading thru the yelp reviews and they weren't good so I was just getting a bad feeling about this whole experience. As I'm changing back to my regular clothes she and another girl poke their head in and ask me if I'm ready. I just said "we're going to go somewhere else for alterations" to which i received a very rude and dismissive "ok" in return. There is a store associate named Selena Who should get five stars *but I am giving four stars to begin with because of how chaotic the store was upon us arriving, and how long it took for me to be matched with Selena and have a room available (despite having booked appointments) The reason I am writing this review however, is because she went above and beyond to listen to what I was saying, and trust her intuition on gathering some dresses that I was describing but unable to find. She was not pushy, she was not short with me, and she was not stressed out despite it truly being busy inside the store. The dresses here are ok. I first took my bridesmaid dress here to hem it and get it taken in and to add sleeves from the extra fabric left over from all the three dresses. They told me that they weren't sure if it is possible to even add the sleeves. They said that the prices just changed and the new quote would be over $400. I told them for one bridesmaid dress that I paid $100 for that's ridiculous and left. I found another seamstress that charged me $210 to do all that same work. For my dress, it took me going in three times and trying on five different dresses each time, to find the one I wanted. Even then when I found my dress, the see through part around my waist I asked for them to line it so it would not be see through. With that, hemming my dress and making my straps a little tighter they charged me $1,000, telling me again that their prices have just changed. I spent close to the same amount on alterations that I did on my dress. The way that they dance around the prices is sketchy. All I can say is that their alterations department is a scam and they are exploiting the customers. read more

So I came here with my bridesmaids to get them dresses, and even set up an appointment and everything. We had bunny help us who didn't even really help us at all to be totally honest, I feel like as soon as I told her that they were more just trying to get measurements and figure out their sizes she didn't really want anything to do with us. I asked her to get proper measurements for one of my girls and all she did was one measurement across her chest and said what size she thinks she is. Like no we wanted full measurements of her not just what size she is because not all sizes are the same with different brands. THEN to top it off after we were done I found a few things I wanted to buy, like a veil that I found absolutely gorgeous. I had to wait in line for 30+ minutes after someone that bunny was also working with during our appointment had cut infront of me. All I wanted to do was buy my stuff and leave, there were 2 ladies standing at the front doing nothing when one of them could have easily checked me out. Not to mention that there wasn't even a massive line infront of me the ladies at the register were just taking forever to get the dresses order for their groups. Lisa, my consultant, was absolutely amazing and I would have given this a 5 star review but the alterations was completely overpriced for the little work and not great fitting. Almost $500 for alterations and dress was only about $400. I looked at the original photos I took in my wedding dress and the dress sat much better than when altered. The built in cups were not aligned properly anymore and there were small holes on the waistline. Oh well, so alterations was ok but consultant absolutely amazing! read more

She spent time with me explaining what was wrong which was exactly what I was trying to say to the alterations department at David's bridal ! There was too much material and it was weighing me down and making me look very wide . David's bridal only takes up the hem and they will take in the waste . They do not do anything else . Ruined wedding dress shopping for me. It was my first time shopping for my wedding dress and at first everything was going fine. There weren't many options when it came to the variety they carry here. All of them seemed relatively the same, just slightly different. Christina, the consultant who was helping me, was helpful at first explaining everything to me. She then quickly switched up and began pressuring me into making a decision between the 4 dresses I tried on. I didn't LOVE any of the options I had tried on but she continued to insist that I had to buy now or I would regret it. Even offered 15% if I bought something on the spot. She was just trying to get commission out of me, which I guess is her job but it still ruined that experience for me. Wedding planning should be an enjoyable experience, dress shopping included, as it's a special moment in your life. This store took that away from me, making me not look forward to finding my dream dress. Nobody should feel pressured and forced into something they don't want. It's something YOU will be wearing on YOUR day after all. Ended up finding my dress at a smaller local business and I am so glad that I didn't give in to her pressuring me to make a purchase with them. Stay away from these large-chain businesses if you want to find something you truly like, and not be pressured just so someone can make a little extra on their paycheck. read more

Haleigh was wonderfully kind and patient today at my very first dress fitting. I came in with a super tight budget/schedule, plus a vague idea of what I wanted; mixed with being overwhelmed by all the choices and just being out in public during the middle of a pandemic. She pulled several silhouettes with different sleeves and necklines for me to pick from and didn't bat an eye when I couldn't put into words what wasn't working for me. I didn't say yes to a dress, but I made a follow up appointment to narrow down some really strong contenders/explore some other options. I learned that today was the first day the shop opened during the pandemic and the whole crew was courteous, professional and respectful. Everyone had on masks and gloves and I felt very safe. Made an appointment to get my dress altered - I found a beautiful dress online, but it was very tight around the hips and the zipper . I went into the store to make an appt, told the woman all the information - what I needed done, and that it was a dress not purchased from David's Bridal. This was a specific question she asked me the day before my appt. She ASSURED me that they could alter it, it wouldn't be too difficult, if it was difficult it would just cost more. I get to my appointment and the woman asks me " do you have your shoes?" I said " excuse me?" She told me that I needed my shoes so they could fix the hem of my dress. I told her that is NOT why I'm here and I had already given the information of what I needed done with my dress. She then says " but you did purchase your dress here?" I said again , no, that should be in the information for my appointment already! I put my dress on and the lady comes and looks for two seconds and tells me " it's impossible. We don't have this fabric, it would be too difficult to alter and add to this dress ." I didn't really believe her, I have never heard of a wedding dress being unable to be altered. read more

First of all they reached out to confirm with guidelines for being safe and were flexible when I took the wrong exit and was 10 minutes behind. Bridget is hand's down the literal nicest person I have ever met. Genuinely it felt like she could have been my MOH with how fun and thoughtful she was. During these interesting times it can be so hard to find a normal feeling, especially when planning huge life events that now have to be altered. This dress fitting felt as normal as possible, and she was incredibly informative the entire time. I even had follow up from her! I'm still not sure if I found "the one" but if I need to go back to test the waters I am definitely seeking her out as a stylist again!!! I ordered a couple bridesmaid dresses online that ended up being too big, so I thought I could return them in store, and try them on in a size smaller. Turns out you can't return online purchases in store. I DID try the dresses on in my size, and wanted to order one in the color I'll need to be wearing to see how it would look, but if I ordered in store, I wouldn't be able to return for a refund- only exchange! This alone stopped me from ordering the dress. I then went to return the two dresses I had ordered online to the tune of $25 in shipping! And, be warned, you need to return within 14 days of purchase! No musing over dresses here! All in all, the experience was not ideal, and I have given up on this store. They make the experience too difficult. On a positive note, they were able to pull a stylist to help me into a room/find the dresses I was looking for without an appointment. I didn't know I would need one for what I was doing, so if you DO plan to look here for anything, make an appointment just in case. read more

I am so sad to say that I had a horrible David's Bridal experience and I will not be coming back to this location. I hope that this is just an isolated poor customer service incident and not a reflection of David's Bridal as a whole. Two of my bridesmaids and I had an appointment to try on bridesmaids dresses as I am still nailing down what color I want my bridal party to wear. Our "stylist" was not attentive and kept disappearing and just chatting with her coworkers up front. She kept bringing us swatches to look at and not dresses. We made the appointment so I could see the different colors on their skin tone or in a dress form. I could have just walked in and looked at swatches if I wanted. My bridesmaids asked to see certain dresses and she would come back with the wrong ones. Additionally after she brought us a dress she would disappear for 5-10 minutes. It wasn't even particularly busy this day! Our "stylist" didn't ask any questions about my wedding and had no idea how to tell us about the different fabrics they offer. I work in the customer service industry and in my experience if you don't know the answer to something, you go and find the answer from someone else. She constantly told us "I don't know..." Ultimately, they tried on maybe 2-3 dresses each and we left with 40 minutes of our appointment to spare. No one said anything to us as we were leaving. We were just tired of the service we were receiving and called it a day. When we got to the front of the store, our "stylist" was sitting behind the counter chatting with her coworkers and said nothing as she saw us leave. I left my appointment extremely disappointed and more confused then when we came in. It was such a horrible experience that I feel like I don't want to even use David's Bridal at all. That is a huge loss on the company's part because I was going to bring 7 bridesmaids in to buy dresses, as well as a flower girl, and possibly buy my wedding dress. If this is the quality of service to expect, I will not be back. I understand that this may be just another customer service job to some people but this is my wedding day and I don't think it's too much to ask for someone to show courtesy and excitement. While I don't want any particular employee to get in trouble, I do want others to know what happened and I hope no one else's experience is ruined like mine was. read more

I ordered my wedding dress from this location in August 2021. I was told I could either take home the sample they had in store, or I could order it and receive a brand new one from the warehouse. It was a clearance dress, so I asked for confirmation that the dress would be brand new if I ordered it, and the salesperson said that it absolutely would be. When the dress arrived, I was not allowed to look it over in the store. It was handed to me and I was sent out the door. When I got home, I discovered that the dress was not new from the warehouse, but actually came from a store in Cincinnati, OH, and it was damaged. There was a six inch rip in the zipper, and a lot of the beading was falling off. I then had to go back to the store (which is over an hour from my house) to try to exchange it. The manager did not want to do an exchange, and insisted I let them repair it instead. The seamstress "fixed" the zipper, but not the beading. It turns out the "repair" on the zipper was done so badly that when I had alterations done (somewhere else), it needed to be taken out and completely redone just so the zipper would lay flat. I was offered a 10% discount when they did the initial repair, but that did not even cover half the cost of another seamstress fixing the dress, or the cost of gas to make the additional trips to the store. The excuse from the manager was that if the warehouse ran out, then the dress would come from another store. This is understandable; however, I specifically asked the salesperson for confirmation that the dress would be brand new, and she guaranteed it. If she had been upfront with me that this was a possibility, I would have taken the dress they already had in store, which would not have needed as many repairs, and would have saved me an extra two trips (four hours total driving) to the store. Receiving my wedding dress was supposed to be a happy and exciting day, and instead I was left frustrated, disappointed, and regretting my decision to buy it in the first place. Luckily, I was able to find a seamstress who helped me love my dress again, but I should not have been in this position in the first place. It was a complete failure on the store in Cincinnati to send the dress out in that condition, and a failure on the store in Lynnwood to not look over the dress when it arrived. It should have never been given to me in that condition. In February I ordered shoes online (I honestly don't know why I thought it would go better). I had to order multiple sizes because I wasn't sure what would fit best, and according to the website they were only available online. This turned out to not be true, they had multiple pairs in various sizes in store when I went to return the ones that did not fit. Only a manager could process the return, and it seemed as though she had never done it before. It took about 20 minutes to return two pairs of shoes. She didn't print off the paperwork for one pair, so just printed the paperwork for the other pair twice, but I had a coupon for one of them so the refund amounts were not the same. I asked her what the total amount refunded to me would be and she had no idea, and didn't know how to figure it out. So she had to call the customer care number to ask how much the refund she had just processed was. I'm not sure what kind of point-of-sale system they are using, but this seemed ridiculous. It turned out the amount customer care claimed the refund was for wasn't the same as what was credited to my card, and I had to call after it posted to my account to ask why there was a difference in amounts, and get the rest of my refund. I am done giving chances to this location, and will absolutely not recommend them to anyone I know looking for wedding or bridesmaid dresses. Their customer service is lacking. Based on how my dress was "repaired," I would not trust their alterations department. read more

My stylist was Abagail, and she was ready to take on my abstract ideas for what I was interested in. She found dresses that were similar to ones I had tried on before- but more importantly she made me confident in trying on dresses that were a little different by educating me instead of ignoring my concerns. It may be of note, but I awkwardly showed up braless (as a result of my past experience with 'boutique' bridal shops) and she was completely unphased. She brought out accessories that accentuated the dresses and because there are multiple size options I was able to try on some of the dresses in the size I would be buying it in. I booked the last appointment slot for Sunday afternoon to try on dresses for the first time. I awkwardly waiting for about 10 minutes past my appointment start for the stylist to come find me and had to ask the front desk twice where my stylist was. My stylist was sweet and accommodating, but I could tell she was overworked and extremely tired. She let me try on a ton of different dresses and worked really hard to find a sample size for one of the dresses I saw on the mannequin. She also didn't clip the dresses well to show how alterations would be. I'd give the stylist 4 stars but the store 3 stars. The samples were not in great condition and a lot of the dresses in the racks were not bagged up. I think the business model is about getting brides in and out super quick and there isn't time to organize and take care of the dresses. This is a good place to start but I enjoyed my time at a local boutique more. read more

I was recently a bridesmaid & my poor bride journeyed to all three local David's (Lynnwood, Southcenter, Tacoma) and found the same horrible service at each. I was blessedly busy the day she spent suffering through shopping there so I got out of it that day, yet I've spent 4 hours on the phone with the various locations & afterwards I was tempted to reach for a rusty razor blade to slit my wrists.
