Doesn't even deserve one star... I'm not one who normally complains. In fact I created an account for the sole purpose of leaving this review. When I arrived, they had information from an appointmentt I had in Novi... Only problem was, I have never stepped foot into the David's Bridal in Novi - so that was weird. The place was an absolute zoo. There were people everywhere. Plan on standing... Then half way through my appointment I had to share my consultant, Alicia, with another bride. Luckily we were almost done... but it definitely doesn't make you feel special. It makes you feel like they're trying to rush you out the door. I looked past this because I understand it's a busy season for them. So I decided on my dress as well as my bridesmaids' dresses. 4 of my bridesmaids were waiting to order their dress. When one of my girls went back Alicia didn't put in any of their names or measurements and she was too busy to be bothered to give some sort of help. I have called 3 days in a row trying to get a hold of her and she's always not there or too busy. I finally talked to a manager today who wanted me to have the girls come back for measurements again... How inconvenient, especially since most of us don't live in the area. I told her absolutely not unless they want to compensate me for the inconvenience. She then decided to try calling Alicia who never showed for her shift today and told her to call me as soon as she gets in tomorrow morning. Guess we'll see if that actually happens. Then to top it all off, I picked up the slip I ordered today and when I got home I pulled it out of the bag and found that it is 3 sizes smaller than the one I ordered... After reading bad reviews of this place I was nervous about taking my niece here for her first bridal dress trying on's. I called and they where super pleasant on the phone. I make an apt for a Saturday morning. Still nervous. We arrived and where greeted at the front. Jessica was our lady that helped us. She was FANTASTIC! Jessica was very helpful and after explaining what we where looking for in a bridal gown she went and pulled several dresses right away. Jessica was right in the room with my niece dressing her. If you call for an apt, ask for Jessica. She is sweet and fun and listens to your requests. She asked very important questions on how you feel about the dresses that you have just tried on which I would have never of thought asking. Smart girl. Just ask for Jessica, you wont be dissapointed! I am only giving them 4 stars because we have not purchased anything from them yet. read more

I would give this David's bridal zero stars if that were an option. Made an appt for a dress fitting only to get there and wait ten minutes to find someone who worked there to help me. The sales lady gave me a dress to try on that was 2 sizes to small for me, after I told her what size I was. Finally got my size and went to check out and she said I had to pay $15 to ship it to my house when the entire bridal party had it shipped for free. I had the bride call and ask and magically they said they could now ship it at no cost. Poor customer service overall. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

After seeing all the bad reviews on here I started to get scared because I had already made an appointment. I made my appointment online and was assigned to Megan but when I got the store I got some girl named Krystle. Doesn't matter though. When I arrived I was even more scared because there were no dresses in the window or anything. They could have made the store look a little less ghetto for lack of a better term. I went in regardless though as my wedding is 80 days away. The woman at the front podium was so mentally checked out that she asked me my name literally 3 times a row. She heard me clearly all 3 times, she was just distracted. She also asked me my wedding date about 3 times as well. She would ask then write something else down then ask again. She could hear me. She just wasn't listening. But whatever. I was assigned to a girl named Krystal and she was very pleasant. I told her I wasn't sure what I wanted and that I kind of just wanted to look around and pick out styles to try on. She then gave me their catalogue to leaf through and dog ear pages of the dresses I liked. Out of the whole book, I marked 3 pages :( Krystle brought me the dresses and some others that she thought I might like based on my selections. The girl in the fitting room next to me was trying on pretty much all the same ones. lol. I was starting to get really discouraged. None of the dresses were doing it for me. A lot of them looked pretty enough for someone's second wedding in my opinion. Still very pretty just not enough pizazz. Some others looked downright cheap and well worn. If you choose to purchase then they order you a brand new one though. The fitting rooms do not have mirrors just a heads up. The sales girls are right there to help you if you need it (in my experience anyway) but that really surprised me that there were no mirrors. When you come out of the fitting room it's nothing BUT mirrors though. Krystle really worked with me running around finding belts and veils and dresses. She was very attentive for having me and another girl to work with. Finally I saw another bride-to-be come out in a mermaid style I thought I would hate. Yet I asked to try that one on and when I came out and saw myself, I knew that was it. I fell in love. So my experience was good in the end but I know that if I allowed myself more time to look, I would probably choose a classier establishment. That also means more money too though so .... pick your poison. My dress was just under $2,000.00 but the ones I tried on ranged from $300 - $2,000. So they have a wide variety. This place is not at all BAD it's just that they could do a lot better with the look of the place and maybe add a few more employees. You can tell they get a lot of traffic and look a little worn from dealing with customer demands all day. If you've ever worked retail then you know that look. Haha. If you are looking for a dress for your wedding..check here before going elsewhere. They have a HUGE selection so why would you go to a place that carries only 5 select brands? We had Jessica as our consultant. I cannot praise her enough for how good she was to my friend. She made the experience stress free and never once pressured into making any commitments that day. She was so knowledgable of the inventory... It was impressive. I suggest looking in their book before going through the racks. It's just easier! All we had to do was show her the picture. She showed the initiative in grabbing a bra and slip which we didn't get that kind of treatment anywhere else. We made an appointment and instead of being rushed or pressed for time she made sure the bride went at her own pace. The appointment lasted more than two hours. I walked into David's Bridal after two failed attempts at finding the perfect wedding dress. I didn't have an appointment and they were booked for the rest of the night but they said I could browse around. I found one dress that I really wanted to try one and so we asked the consultants if I could try this one dress on and they said yes! It wasn't the one but the consultant then asked what I was looking for and came back with a few more dresses for me to try on. I started losing hope as none of the dresses worked out. Then one of the consultants named Madison came back with one last dress that was exactly what I was looking for! I can't wait for the dress to come in my size! I definitely recommend this store as opposed to an overpriced boutique. read more

I recently was a guest at David' Bridal with my friend being the bride and the MOB, MOG and a few bridesmaids were present. This by far was the worst experience I've had. First of all, let me just tell you the quick experience I had as a bridesmaid when I went in 2 weeks prior to the brides appointment to pick up my dress. Long story short, the wedding is a year out in September and I tried on a certain size and knew I wanted to go two sizes down because I planned on losing weight. I proceeded to tell the lady this and she proceeds to tell me their return policy (which I'm aware of) and then asks "Well are you having surgery?" (Me-gasped) "Um, no but the wedding is a year away and I have goals and I believe I'm paying for this dress so I'm going to get what size I want thank you." She replies with, "Well how about we measure you again in 2 weeks and go from there." (My thoughts were well in 2 weeks I won't be 70 pounds down so then what? Your just going to shut me down again?) So I told her no, you know what I'll just buy the dress online that way I can get the size I want for the dress I'm paying for So back to the bride, one of the bridesmaids asked politely at the beginning of our appt. Would you mind if the family walked around and if we found a dress, to maybe suggest she try it on. The lady was very snotty about it and stated that's what she's there to do and it's all about the bride not anyone else (we got it lady, we aren't having the bride try on anything she doesn't like). So, we begrudgingly took a back seat and let this lady do her thing. The bride described what she wanted and the lady went to work. She comes back with 4 dresses that are nothing like what the bride described. We all looked at each other and said, " Is she even listening?" The third dress was too big and uncomfortable and the bride said I'm so uncomfortable and the lady replies "Well listen hunny, I'm going to be frank you need to be uncomfortable for your wedding in order to get that look and beautiful pictures." We all looked at each other and said I'm sorry, what?! No you don't and she was making this a horrible experience for the bride. Last straw was her bringing the bride out in a heavy, dated dress with big doile flowers all over and we all looked and said is this lady serious. Mind you it brought light to the situation because we all couldn't stop laughing thinking we were being punked. So the MOB intervened and told the bride show her pictures from your phone what you like, I don't think she's getting it. So the bride showed the consultant pictures on her phone and the consultant didn't hear anything she said and was focusing on the wrong things. The bride came out in the next dress feeling defeated. That's when we decided to call it quits, this lady was not making this a memorable or exciting venture at all. Mind you, we made an appt and had only been there 35 minutes and the consultant says, "I have another bride I need to get in a dress, she's getting married in December I'll be back. It's Saturday, you know how it is busy busy!" We all looked at each other in disbelief is that not why you make an appt? You make an appt so you get 1 on 1 time and we were told it takes at least an hour to hour and a half. We didn't even get that allotted time to ourselves. So she proceeded to work on two other brides and then that's when we decided to call it quits. It's sad that when the other bridal consultant came over so upbeat and personable asking how she was doing, our whole mood changed as the bridal party (unfortunately that was only a short moment in this horrifying appt). So moral of the story, don't give David's Bridal your business unless you know what you want and your not going for that special moment you want when finding the special dress. This is nothing but a corporate store that gives two craps about you and the special event that your about to embark on in your life. It's all about sales and once that consultant got the vibe we weren't digging anything, the lady then checked out. (Mind you this was strictly due to the fact that she wasn't listening to what the bride liked-so that's the fault of the consultant) Make sure if you have an appt here it's not with Josephine. (I'm sorry if she was having a bad day, but she clearly saw we were unhappy and could of tossed us over to the other consultant) instead she gave us a half ass apology at the end and some travel toothpaste for our troubles. When I was a senior in high school, I stopped in this location looking for a prom dress. I did not have an appointment and I was rudely told that I could not look at the dresses because so. Flash forward a few years, I came here, with an appointment, to get a bridesmaid dress. The lady helping us was booked with other parties and we received little attention. Okay, I get it. It was a Saturday. But why make an appointment if we are not going to be helped anyway? Why book multiple appointments with one person? I don't get it. Whatever. I am, also, getting married later this year and saw some nice gowns while I was getting my bridesmaid dress. I figured I would make an appointment. What could I lose? With drive time, two and a half hours of my life. That's what I lost. I was in the store for an hour and a half. I tried on six dresses. Most of the time spent here, I was standing in the changing room. The poor lady that was helping me was helping SIX PEOPLE when I left. Her time was stretched so thin. I received very little attention. I tried on multiple dresses with qualities I didn't like & told her I didn't like. She probably couldn't keep all the guests straight. I don't blame her. I think they just book "appointments" whenever you can come, no matter how many people already have appointments or how many people they have on staff. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I will not be returning to this store and I will tell my bridesmaids to look elsewhere. I went to the Davids Bridal in Madison Heights, MI. I believed I would find at least an idea of the dress I wanted or my actual dress at best, but I was terribly wrong. The dresses I tried were terrible. I was open to try ANYTHING. I had no idea what I would like, but no matter what I picked or my style helper, Justine, picked, they were terrible. Terrible quality, terrible feeling, & ugly. The appliqué on 90% of the dresses were terribly put on & I could pick them off if I wanted to. Any lace dress was scratchy & felt like sand paper. The price range or type didn't matter! Second, Justine started off helpful trying to find a good dress, BUT about half way through became rude & unhelpful. She didn'teven try to help me find a good dress after a certain point. She failed to even engage in the appointment after the first few dresses. She stopped asking how it felt or how I felt in it, she even stopped trying to find the right type of dress. She also would roll her eyes any time I said no to a dress (waiting until I went to change & doing so I'm front of my friend). She then talked to a coworker & was upset I was taking my full amount of time trying dresses, because she wanted to price things out for a family member. She also did not even attempt to schedule a come back appointment and took a very rude tone saying "good luck" finding a dress. This was terrible service & a terrible experience, especially for someone wanting to find the dress for my special day. I will NEVER go to Davids Bridal & recommend NO ONE does. read more

If I could rate zero stars I would! The worst experience ever! It started with the consultant calling me fat. She then proceeded to touch and measure me, in the middle of the busy store, without my permission. Nothing like being assaulted in a bridal store. They told me that my dress would be available mid-June, but it arrived early. The issue is that they never called. My dress sat in the store for over 1 month, and no one had the sense to call. The bride was in the store 2 times in that month, and no one had the sense to tell her either. The dress was very wrinkled when I finally got it and they had the audacity to tell me that they would not steam it. After telling them that it was their fault, she finally steamed it, after the consultant rolled her eyes at me. I will never step foot in this store again. read more

I WISH. let's start with the girl who greets you when you walk in, she goes by telling me that the manager will meet me at the front desk to look at my damaged dress I received in the mail. Well no one comes to the front desk, then we go to the back by alterations, where once again the "manager" is suppose to be there. We walk up to the manager yelling at her employees in front of brides! She goes on to ask me what I'm here for (remind you I've already told now 3 people what was wrong with my dress) she goes on to tell me all dresses get stuck in the center. Well I showed her my issue and that's when she realizes I'm fucking right and she's wrong, my dress zipper goes into the fabric due to a hole on the zipper lining. She goes on to tell me after driving a hour to exchange the dress and hope to have the alterations girls fix the zipper only, that I have to return it online and then order another dress because she can't help me. After a wasteful 2 hours I will be sending my dress back and contacting better business bureau on Elka which is the "manager" for this David's bridal. You guys really do suck at your jobs. read more

This store is horrible. The sales associates are rude and always made me feel I was bothering them. The day my bridesmaids came in for appointments, there were children sitting on the floor outside of dressing room eating McDonald's. They were tripping over them, staff did nothing. We waited and waited for the associate to come back but she left us in dressing room to tend to ourselves. On my fitting day, the alterations department told me I needed nothing done, I questioned the length but again, made me feel I was bothering them or stupid. On my wedding day I wanted to cry....the dress dragged so badly( it was a floor length without train). The back was not taken in as it should have and my pics reflected it. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because of the very friendly floor manager and the fact that I actually did buy my dress there. I had booked an appointment two weeks prior and when I went in it was not busy at all yet my "stylist" was handling me and another "client". I was barely helped and pretty much placed on the back burner. Luckily the floor manager had helped me pull dresses before I went to the dressing room. I picked dress number 5. Josephine, the stylist, did help with exchanging the sizes but that was it. She was using all of her time helping the other customer. When it did come time to purchase my dress I felt pressured to purchase shoes, under garments, etc. I very politely said I would come back to purchase those items during my alteration. I was also pushed to have my bridesmaids get their dresses. Yes, I got my dress but I wouldn't recommend the place for anyone looking for excellent customer service and a truly personalized experience. It was very rushed. read more

Bought a dress from the store, and went in for alterations shortly after that. Picked up the dress a month later from alterations and took it home. Tried the dress on a week before the wedding, and the bodice was at least 2 inches too large -- something the alterations lady had not even considered altering the first time around. Called and the alterations department was very rude on the phone. Had to have two other alterations ladies assist me, and had to pay an extra $40 for the additional change. They tried to suggest to me that I had lost weight, which I hadn't, instead of taking blame for a mistake that was clearly made on their end. My measurements were the same, confirming that I was not the one who caused the issue. The one positive aspect was that they got it done promptly. Even if you're just a bridesmaid, try on your dress in-store after the alterations - do not trust that they have done it correctly, because it's possible they haven't. read more

Who left me in the room for a really long time. Cold in my underwear! when I pop my head out she's pulling dresses for a whole other group. Never said brb & said maybe two words to me the whole appt. I said no lace, pulled full lace and didn't pull one dress I asked for. Even when I asked for them, she just disappeared. I knew with in five mins of meeting her... this is not going to work. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I am a bride, getting married July 27th! I have 9 girls standing up in my wedding, i bought a 1100 wedding dress and all my bridesmaids' dresses were over $140. Once our dresses came in, we were NOTHING to them. they completely ruined the busseling of my train in the back of my wedding dress. The manager made them fix it, & then threw it in our faces. Every single one of my bridesmaids dresses came in and looked completely different than they were on the floor. the one manager, barbara had the nerve to call my maid of honor fat! my maid of honor is a petite woman and could pull handfuls of fabric away from her body. my sister in law, who is standing in the wedding, just had a baby. they told her to come in when she was pregnant and go 2 sizes up because of not knowing how much weight she was going to gain, so we did as we were told, her dress fell off of her today at alterations! they then exchanged it and gave her a FLOOR MODEL dress!!!! & won't give money back on it!! they told us that it "isn't their fault that she got pregnant." My maid of honors dress had to be taken back 3 times! My little sister who is 9 got her dress they gave her a 12 & she had to take it back because it was falling off of her, she had to exchange it for a size 6! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. Went here for a friend's FIRST time trying on wedding gowns. Not only did we wait for over 15 minutes before our consultant came to us, but she was rude when she did so. We were "helped" by Josephine. Not only did she repeatedly critique my friends body, she always criticized us bridesmaids opinions and undermined the brides requests. As the first time trying on gowns it was completely traumatizing for the first 2-3 dresses. It seemed like Josephine didn't believe that my friend was actually getting married and like we were wasting her time. Also, we would show her a gown in one of the magazines they gave us when we first came in (remember we had 15 minutes to flip through these) and Joesphine would pull the wrong one and not believe us that she could ever pull the wrong dress. She slowly warmed up but was still rude and bitter for the remainder of the session that we were there for. I cannot believe that those who are supposed to help make brides feel like a princess on their special day are so rude and uncaring. I gave one star because my friend is pretty sure that she found "the one", but with little to no help from Josephine. It was such a shame, as I got my dress from the David's bridal in Novi and had a wonderful experience there. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Unless you are on a serious a budget, this place is not worth it. The dresses are cheap and poor quality. Additionally, the sales staff is horrible. I had an appointment and brought 5 of my 6 Bridesmaids to find their dresses. My salesperson had 3 other appointments scheduled during the same time so she gave us absolutely no help. We barely saw her! Even though I had taken the time to bookmark all the dresses I was interested in seeing, they didn't help us find 1 dress and told us to just go find the dresses ourselves. We ended up going finally leaving (I was FURIOUS) and making an appointment at a real salon. We found the perfect dress within the first 20 minutes and it was only slightly more expense than the garage we saw at David's. read more

Very unprofessional. When I made my first appointment, I waited for 20 minutes before the lady came to even help me. I had an appointment, she should've been ready. Finally, I showed her dresses I like and pulled me basic Davids Bridal brand dresses that didn't even look similar to the ones I showed her. She didn't help me try ANY on. Thankfully my friend was there and helped me the entire time. She made Me a follow up appointment two weeks later at 9:30am. I went there for my follow up and low and behold they didn't open until 11. I demanded in and the managers(I assume) said they haven't opened that early in a long time. I asked why the lady bothered making my appointment for me at that time then? They said the earliest they'd take me was at 11:45. I had to be at work by noon and just wanted to show my mom my dresses real quick. So instead I walked out. Trying to get a hold of corporate to do anything is IMPOSSIBLE. Despite what everyone told me about this location, I decided to go in and get a feel for what it was all about. I spoke with a young lady named Lauren. She was awesome. I booked an appointment with her right away, and my mother traveled 9 hours to be here to look at dresses with me. Lauren went above and beyond any expectation I could have had. The dresses were fantastic, and she made the experience a delight for my mother and myself. I special ordered my dress and it was on my doorstep in 2 DAYS! I was absolutely amazed. What were all of these people talking about when they said this place was a disaster?! My dress was sent on a hanger that had torn a hole in the lace. I panicked and called the store. A lovely manager named Kaila was more than accommodating and ordered me another dress...which came in just another 2 DAYS! How amazing is that?! My mother, sister and 2 nieces traveled another 9 hours to be here while I picked up the new dress. It was so nice to be able to have them here with me. My appointment was first thing in the morning. I wish I knew where Lauren had gone...because my service on that day was an absolute nightmare. My saleswoman had no idea what was happening, and there was actually someone else's makeup on the inside of my new dress. On this particular day it seemed as if no one was willing to be courteous, or take the time to help me in a progressive manner. All the while...my family drove 9 hours to be here and witness my unhappiness with a very rude saleswoman. Again...what happened to Lauren!? THIS was the horrible service that everyone had been talking about! It was when I was packing up my things to leave that the store manager Megan appeared. Thank anything holy for her. She saved the day. She understands the importance of customer service, and the fact that it isn't what you say to someone...but HOW you say it. I am so thankful that for every terrible salesperson they have at this location...there is someone there that understands that customer service is key. Please, people. Ask for one of the ladies mentioned above when you are here. There are good experiences to be had. If you have a bad salesperson..ask for a manager. At least they know what they are talking about. I love my dress. You too can find an amazing dress for an extremely affordable price here! They had better dresses than any other bourgeois place in town. read more

My cousin is getting married this year, and we went in yesterday to look at bridesmaids dresses! Jessica L helped us out. She was absolutely amazing! She was patient and very tentative! I made an appointment online. I showed up on time and 15 minutes later I was matched with a consultant. The consultant, Jessica D., told me to look at dresses. About a half hour later, i had to find her to show her what dresses I wanted to try on. The first thing she said was "you know we close at 7:00p," which caught me off guard because I made the appointment online and had about 45 minutes to try on dresses. I showed Jessica D. Which dresses I wanted to try on, a couple which were in the sale section. She tried discouraging me several times from the items on sale because I would have to take the dress that was on the rack, which I stated each time that I understood and was fine with it. I tried on one style and liked it, but wanted to try on a different style that was nothing like the first style I tried on. Jessica D. stated "you don't know what you want, do you?" I couldn't believe it.. Of course I didn't know what I wanted, it was my first time trying on dresses! I did end up finding the dress I wanted, a SALE dress, which is the only reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1. Really disappointed with Jessica D., she really shouldn't be working there. Other than my condescending consultant, the experience wasn't the worst... I decided to go to David's Bridal because I have looked at the dresses for about a year online waiting for my man to propose. This was my first time ever trying on a wedding dress. Before I came in for my 7pm appointment, I put a bunch of dresses into "My favorites" knowing I wouldn't be able to try them all on but hoping I would be able to try on at least a couple of them. My consultant was a little shocked and looked like she wanted to comment on the fact that I brought 5 people ( Im the first to get married on both my side and my fiance's so both mom's, MOH, and 2 bridesmaids, one of which was my sister) She told me right away that she was taking care of someone else too. I told her I didn't want a lot of poof and that I wasn't a girl for a whole lot of stuff on the dress. The very first dress I tried on was a ball gown that I walked out and walked right back in to take it off. A couple of times she would put me in a dress and then walk away and I would be stuck standing in a dress that did not make me feel like a bride at all. Both my mother and future mother-in-law were a little upset given that the other two girls trying on dresses by me had very attentive consultants. Not to mention, almost everyone of the dresses that I saved and they printed when I got there, was a Sheath silhoutte. I only tried on mermaid/trumpet until my mother-in-law pointed out an A-line. I did not try on one sheath, so I was a little disappointed. The only dress that made me feel like a bride and not someone randomly trying on white dresses, my mother-in-law picked out. I will come back. I know that she was busy with someone else. I just home I have a better chance to find a dress that fits me and my personality. read more

Let's just say I only gave them a 1 star rating because you HAVE to. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE serivce!! After being told by 3 different sales ladies one 3 seperate visits to try on bridesmaid dresses that the dress we chose would be available and that all changed (including the price!) when we got to the register. Apparently the dresses we chose were "special occasion" dresses and could not be guarenteed if ALL the members of the bridal party were there due to this dress possibly being discontinued soon (words of the unprofessional sales rep not mine.) The cashier at the front was a short blonde/teased out hair and boy did she have an attitude problem! Very rude and condescending. Had to get the manager involved and after explaining the situation to her TWICE she finally offered to right the wrong and help us get the dresses we had planned on getting. By this point the bride was very upset and in tears after a month of planning and three visits to this David's bridal everything that was told to us was basically a lie. Come to find out, once we got the dresses and had one of them "steamed" due to buying off the rack for one of the sizes, there was STILL and armpit stain in the dress from other customers trying it on and they could do nothing about it. Will NEVER shop there for my wedding that's for sure!! read more
