Look, weddings are stressful. Getting everything done on time is a big deal. I was procrastinating badly on my dress because I hate all the time and fuss of trying on stuff. I also tend to putz around a bit. I didn't have a huge budget, but it was reasonable. I didn't want to accessorize. I didn't want much of a fuss and honestly had an easy-going attitude. Maybe that helped. I tried on 4 dresses. Found the one I wanted and was done. They actually did a great job accommodating my rushed schedule since the wedding was 5 weeks later. They put a rush on the delivery of the dress. The lady making alterations got me an appointment the following day and it's a reasonable price for the rush alterations. As long as my dress is ready in time next week I'll keep my 5 stars. No reason not to. They do try to up-sell you a lot. But I think I've become so numb to that it doesn't faze me anymore. read more

It's too bad that a store premised on weddings is so damn depressing. I serioulsy felt like I was in Wal Mart. And I hate Wal Mart I called this afternoon to make an appointment to try on a bridesmaids dress and order it for a wedding I'm in this June (three full months away). Someone helps me find a couple dresses in the same style to try on. The dressing rooms have no mirrors. Lame. I get the size I need and go to check out and have them order the dress in the correct color. The guy at the counter starts by asking for my drivers license. The hell? I'm buying a dress, not renting a car. I kind of protest, and he snidely goes "Well, you want the dress delivered, don't you?" Yes, to your store, not my house you moron. But whatever. Then he asks for my email address. Grrrrr....I give him the one I never check. He tells me they'll email me when the dress arrives, then shows me the computer screen indicating the dress is estimated to arrive on June 8th. Are you kidding me?! 11 weeks for a freaking dress? This is a disaster because the wedding is 6/14, and they tell me alterations take 2 weeks. He told me he could "make some calls" tomorrow and see what he could do. But, it sounds like I get to spend the indefinate future fretting about this dress and whether I'll have it in time. I understand the need to order dresses well in advance. OK, I don't, but I guess that's the bridal industry for you. The bride chose these dresses 3 weeks ago, so maybe I should have gone to David's then. But, seriously, if 3 months isn't far enough in advance to order a simple dress, the world is really messed up. Hell, I got an insurance settlement from a car accident in 4 weeks. Ordered and had a sofa delivered in 6 weeks. But, a piece of fabric with a zipper takes 3 months? ETA: Just called and my guy said the dress would be ready by the end of April. Very nice. Plenty of time for me to take it somewhere else for alterations. Still one star because of this exchange after I called and said who I was: Him: Yes, I called your cell phone Me: Oh, I'm sorry I haven't checked my messages yet. Him: I didn't leave a message. You have Verizon right? Me: Yes (WTF?) Him: Well, I hit pound to bypass the greeting, and it asked me for a password, so I hung up. read more

The layout and design of the new remodeled store is amazing! The colors are so much better makes it look more elegant and sophisticated. The ability to see all the bridal gowns in one location makes looking at them so much better! The staff is so knowledgeable, caring, and listen to exactly what you're looking for! The store manager Crystal is wonderful! She is so great and you can just tell she is there to assist all the customers and all of her employees! read more

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH MARY KAY!!! In the two+ years it has been since my husband and I got married, I had somehow managed (more or less) to suppress my awful David's Bridal experience. Well yesterday that changed when I saw one of their commercials. I did not buy my wedding gown here (thank god! check out Andrea's Bridal in Uptown!), but did order all my bridesmaid dresses at DB, as well as the tuxes from DB's sister store, Men's Warehouse. The reason? They had fairly inexpesive and cute dresses for my ladies. Overall, my shopping and ordering experience was what I expected--uninspired, underpaid employees rotating brides-to-be into crummy dressing rooms under the eery flicker of fluorescent lighting, in order to try on mass-produced dresses of poor quality. What I did not expect was that I would receive several harassing phone calls in the weeks following my shopping experience. At first I ignored and hung up on them, but the calls kept coming. Finally, irritated as he**, I answered the phone. DB's was calling to tell me I had won a spa day with my girls. I didn't believe it and told them I wasn't interested. A few days later, they called back again to tell me the same stuff. I don't know if they caught me in an off moment or what, but the woman on the phone convinced me that the spa day would be a real treat and that yes, I had truly won this great experience. As all brides know, I had absolutely no time for anything other than wedding planning at that time, so fitting in a spa day seemed near impossible. We did, though, manage to find a morning that worked, and I was told to bring 2 - 3 girlfirends to a location in Eagan. The morning of the spa treatment, I received a call early in the morning from a DB's rep saying telling me that the place I was meeting our spa person was in the event space of a Davanni's Pizza. WTF?! Who does mani-pedis in a freaking pizza joint at 9 in the morning? Weirded out, I considered not going. Then I got another call, saying that our spa person couldn't make it and that I would need to go to an address in Brooklyn Center. Really confused and suspicious, yet curious, my bridemaids and I grabbed some coffee and figured we'd make the best of it. After circling a residential neighborhood in BP, we finally found the house. Yes, a house! We almost didn't get out of the car (just another misstep on my behalf). Upon knocking on the door, we were greeted by an older woman with a thick Russian accent. She invited us into her house, which not only was caught in an 80s time warp, but her house reeked! Passing by the plastic-topped grey/purple/peach furniture, and the kitchen, where her husband was yelling at her in Russian; we were brought down to her damp and equally smelly basement, and into a room that probably used to be a laundry room. There, we were invited to gather round a card table, and our "spa" began. Was it a spa? Of course not! As we found out in about half a second, this was a Mary Kay sales demo. Over the course of the next hour-and-a-half, this woman "treated" us to manis and pedis, which were little more than half-used, sample-size bottles of cheap, smelly lotion being rubbed onto our hands and feet. The pedi was the worst though, as it involved her going to her laundry tub and running wash cloths under lukewarm water, then wrapping them around our feet and covering the cloths with a plastic bag. Throughout this wretched experience, we were regalled with stories of her Mary Kay successes and not only heavily pressured to buy her crappy products (we did not), but to become Mary Kay reps ourselves (we definitely did not). We also had our makeup done. Strangely, though, she only did half our faces in order to show how improved we would look with Mary Kay products on our faces. Needless to say, we all looked hideous. To make matters worse, the half that was done up was (not surprisingly) very 80s. Ugh! As time wore on, I could not decide if I wanted to laugh or cry. I was furious for having been conned into this bogus spa treatment at some nasty house when I could have been doing a million other things. Plus, she had not only wasted my time, but that of my closest girlfriends. I also was fighting the urge to burst out laughing at how completely ridiculous and unbelievable the situation was. We did eventually manage to escape, thank god, but to this day, my blood still boils when I think of what a bunch of scam artists they are at DB and how dumb I was to fall for it. Certainly this place serves a purpose. If you're looking for relatively inexpensive, big-box style wedding dresses or bridal wear, then DB is a fine place to shop. However, please beware of any giveaways you are offered. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through what I did on that rainy day in Brooklyn Park. read more

I really, REALLY wish I would have read these reviews before I made an appointment here. I wanted to try on bridal gowns at this David's location because I really had my heart set on trying out the White by Vera Wang line, so I made an appointment here with my MOH and mom. When we arrived, I was told that our consultant would be helping out another group simultaneously, but we were reassured that she would be very available to us. The consultant started by giving me a tour of the salon and brought me to my changing room. The room is a bit smaller than your standard bathroom stall and reminded me of the fitting rooms at a department store - just a lot of small rooms in a row with chairs for spectators. I was crammed in right next to several other girls trying on dresses with their parties of two or more, so the entire evening we were being asked to move out of the way so that other people could take pictures or get through. Not a super "bridal" experience if you ask me. The consultant brought over two dresses right off the bat without really asking me what I was looking for. They were horrifically off base and looked awful on me, so I gave some direction for what I wanted to try on, and she disappeared. A few minutes later she hasn't resurfaced, so my MOH went rogue and went into the salon on a mission to grab the dresses that she knew I wanted to try on. This was the theme throughout the appointment. The consultant would appear every 15 minutes or so asking if we were okay, and we were thanks to my very self-sufficient MOH who was comfortable grabbing stuff off the salon floor. Without her, we would have been stuck waiting for the consultant and wouldn't have been able to try on half as many dresses. The consultant wasn't able to answer many of my questions about gown availability and other questions that I had. They were pretty basic and along the lines of which dresses came in petite sizes, and the capabilities of the alterations department. I expect the consultant to be able to handle what I'm asking since it's her job to know what she's talking about. Overall I was really disappointed. This was not a bridal experience to me. I was crammed in a glorified hallway with many other people, I had virtually no privacy, and no expert to guide me on my journey of trying gowns on. It just wasn't that special moment that you envision when you're trying on wedding dresses for the first time. Not only did I not get the level of service I was looking for, I didn't get ANY level of service at all. I would recommend if you're going to a David's, don't go to this one. Or, be sure that you specify that your consultant needs to be dedicated to YOU during your appointment, or there is a good chance you'll be vying for her attention with at least one other person. I didn't realize that this was NOT acceptable until I went to a smaller boutique two days later. David's has a pretty low level of professionalism and their process needs serious work. I'm giving two stars for the dresses themselves - David's has a broad range of prices and styles. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I went to this location on January 31st 2021. We had an appointment ahead of time. When we got there none of us were sized and were immediately rushed to pick out our own dresses and pushed into a fitting room. Not only were we offered zero assistance by our stylist. The manager of alterations would occasionally stop by to mock the dresses I was wearing saying i was "too big " for some of the dresses I was trying on. I left with a size 8 I ordered but she kept putting me in a size twelve to alter it and the dress itself was hanging off of me. Our stylist also seemed too busy to go get other sizes when asked and I had to go on the floor and find them myself. They were not just criticizing me but was also telling another member of the bridal party she looked horrible in a dress she really did enjoy and looked amazing in. It was so horrible we almost walked out and went somewhere else, all of us left in tears I don't recommend this location to anyone. Never have I felt so horrible and disgusting shopping at a place. This is only the tip of the iceberg of what happened. It felt like they were only trying to make as much money off of me as they could versus help me. read more

Got married over a year ago, but I realized that in making a list, this place wasn't in my reviews, so I thought I'd back track...for those who are in need a wedding dress or anything that has to do with weddings. I went here by myself just to check it out. Didn't realize that you needed to make an appointment...well, actually most wedding dress places do, but I figured, why wouldn't they take walk-ins...it's business. So, they make you fill out this questionnaire with all your information on it so they can hound you or "assess" what you need for wedding. Should have left at that point, but I wanted to know what the prices were for their wedding dresses, and wanted to make sure that I didn't miss out on any dresses before I picked "the one". The girl that helped me was probably trained by a robot...told to tell me that everything looked good on me! Seriously...it was annoying. Which brings me to an important tip in wedding dress hunting...BRING SOMEONE that actually HAS an opinion! Someone you trust because this girl lied through her fake smile and told me things looked good when they didn't. She even told me that I was 'unemotional' to the dresses I tried on. Well...if it didn't look good, I'm not going to like it...obviously. Overall, the prices were decent, but then again, I think you get what you pay for. And personally, I didn't think the quality was all that good either. And the service was not what I expected. With all that stupid paperwork...I was hounded for several weeks as to when I'd stop in again and about tuxedo rentals and she looked forward in helping me again...I finally told her that I found what I was looking for, and it wasn't at David's Bridal. My soon-to-be sister-in-law went there last weekend and felt the same way I did about David's Bridal. So I guess things didn't really change. read more

My experience at David's was horrible. I'm just a bridesmaid. Not much to screw up, you'd think. The wedding is in Washington and despite telling the associates that, they said oh yes your dress will go to the store the bride requests. I thought nothing of it until the bride told me to check just to make sure. Just to make sure... I call and am told that they don't do that and the dress has to be sent to the store I purchased the order from. Problem being the dress was to arrive the day before the wedding. I then proceed to talk to different managers for a few weeks who falsely made me believe they'd be able to get it shipped quicker so they could send it to Washington. I never heard anything back despite being told I'd be updated so I called one last time. This time I was told they wouldn't be able to get it in sooner for sure. Basically this forced me into getting a dress they had at the store, not even the one i purchased because they can't refund. It kind of ruined the bride's plan to make a lovely ombre pattern because it's not the color she wanted and it's not one of the dress styles she wanted. You can't give a refund even though it's your fault that I'm not getting the dress that I PAID FOR? Yeah. I told them it was in Washington and it needed to go to Washington. They should have told me to call and order it there but they didn't. I wish I had my money. I really wish I did. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received at any store. I came in for my appointment and was told to go look for dresses and given a room. For the next 45 minutes no one checked in with me and we had to track someone down on or own. Finally we were able to get some questions answered, however, they take months to get dresses ordered in the correct size and color and don't discount for the poor condition of the dresses on the floor (if you want to buy one of those). My experience here was absolutely horrible. The lady who helped me was very nice, but the dresses she had me try on were just awful. I showed her pictures the type of dress I wanted--A line, sweetheart neckline, flowy but not poofy, vintage. She brought me the most godawful dresses to try on and after trying on 4 dresses (she was helping other people at the same time) and spending 1 1/2 hours there I was done. I went in without an appointment it wasn't a problem but at that point I was not really trying dresses on. I found a couple dresses that were cute but not really in sizes that I could get a leg in much less my entire body. We left after that I came back a couple months later now that I bought my dress elsewhere thinking David's bridal is cheap right? They hide the bridal accessories in the very back so you have to climb through the dressing room area to find them, I guess they are afraid of people walking off with a fake tiara or something. I couldn't find any petticoats and no one in the store took any interest in me so there was no one to ask so I went on to look at veils. Their veils were a big disappointment, almost all of them were $99, now a higher end boutique had some $50-100 that were quite pretty. But here they were boring and expensive, the one's I saw had just a little embroidery on the edge not even an applique but a single row stitched on or they were edged in a ribbon, definitely not worth that price. The ones that were nicer were even more expensive. The Tiara's and other headpieces were equally disappointing. They were pretty and I liked a lot of them, but I have found others at much nicer prices. I guess if you spend 100 on a dress you can spend that much or more on the accessories. I have had better luck in the past, I bought a prom dress here almost 10 years ago. And a bra, but the bra was not exactly the right size and I was squeezed in, they didn't seem to care about ordering a bra for me... prom must not be that important. This place is okay for browsing and getting ideas but not really a place to buy from, unless you are desperate. read more

I have been here several times and have had a really good experience overall. Suzette, in alterations, was a rock star, staying late to finish her appointment with me because it took so long and I wanted so much altered. I found several here dresses that I liked, and was happy to settle on a Vera Wang gown that is stunning. The several people who helped me throughout the process were very nice, but I would say that the bride-to-be should be open to picking it dresses and not leaving it up to you attendant, who really might not have that much experience (a lot of people there seemed like new-hires). I would definitely recommend DB. read more

Extreme disappointment with service on finding the one for the bride. We had appointment and our attendant was helping another party as well. We were asked to wait a couple times as she was helping them and then even was told our appointment time was over. We had several options in beautiful dresses....but the service didn't even want to to consider....we walked out knowing we would not buy from here... One of the biggest most special days for all girls and it felt like it was just a sale. I went for my first dress try on since getting engaged and I was made to feel like a bother! The woman who was paired as my bridal expert hardly paid any attention to me or my bridesmaids, and then she would sneak away to help 3 other groups? I felt no excitement in dress shopping and left feeling discouraged and extremely upset! You know...I read the reviews of this store and this company and I was scared to go. I almost canceled my appointment, but it was part of our lunch stop. I am happy that I did not cancel my appointment. I am a plus size tall (6'1) bride. Dresses will likely be very expensive. The first dress I ordered was not a good fit. I didn't like it. Because I'm plus size and tall the dress had to be custom made, so it would be several months before I received my gown. I called David's Bridal and the manager went above and beyond to reverse the order so I can select another dress. I love my new dress and cannot wait to wear it. I also purchased my bridesmaid dresses from there. Most of my girls are coming from out of town and we needed to find a national chain so we could try on dresses. We located a few dresses that we loved but we had issues with the color of the dress arriving in time. Even though we had this issue, Laura (sales associate) helped me to locate dresses in the color I wanted and the sizes of my bridesmaids that were quick order. While I didn't like the options and chose to change the color, I was impressed and so happy that she helped us to locate something that could work. I truly appreciated that they associates went ABOVE and BEYOND to help me find something that works. I don't know what other stores are like, but I like this store. The only thing that is a loss is that all the locations took away their platform for trying on dresses. This is a giant mistake. It was fun to stand on the stages and puffs at all the bridal stores to see the bottom of the dress. They took something special away. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I had luckily found my wedding dress at another shop but decided to bring my sisters to David's bridal to try on bridesmaid dresses. From the beginning Heather was dismissive of what we tried to explain, she was very pushy and I have never had a saleswoman hover so badly. She then proceeded to insult my sister calling her "hippy with nothing going on up top" because my sister said she wanted a skirt that had more movement to it! For reference, my sister is a size 6 dress and 32D bra. She also never offered to measure them for sizes, asked them what they liked or didn't like about the dresses she pulled. She was absolutely useless and insulting to us. I have never seen anyone treat customers this way and I will never ever cross their door again or spend a penny read more

I started out with a new employee helping me which was helpful, but didn't know how to answer all of my questions. No judgement with her, but then Leah stepped in and was super helpful. I didn't feel like she was telling me the whole, "that looks soo good on you" shpeal that I understand is their job to sell the product. She was very personal and made sure I had what I was looking for. She sent me to Roseville because they had my size. I gave them her card so I really hope she gets the commission for her work she put into helping me. I'm 6 ft and super picky so it was definitely a challenge. I did want to change my review a little bit. My bridesmaid dresses just started coming in and one was too big... like I expected. She was sized and told what size to order from the associate. They suggested that we get alterations because ordering a new one in the right size would take too long and not in before my wedding. The girl that I talked to, Jen I believe her name was, was exceptional. They are taking care of the alterations at their cost due to this being ordered incorrectly. I showed up to my appointment on time. My mom and soon to be mother in law told the lady, that's its a same sex marriage, and I'm more of the simple person. The lady helping us told both of them, they don't really deal with same sex marriages, and really rude about it. ( Now, if I would of this comment, I would of left right away but wasn't told this until we went out for lunch.) At this time, I was asked to find a dress that I would like and the style. The lady was really pushy and wasn't listening to anything I was saying. One: I don't wear dresses often and Two: you should listen to the person your helping. After finding somewhat of an idea, went back to the changing room, and was never measured. SO I was forced into a dress, that I would never wear period, and two sizes two small. Then again, put on another dress, that was two small and I actually like it. I tried on the next one which I went back and forth on, the lady demanded I pick with one I loved? I couldn't answer cause in my head, I wasn't going to buy anything at this time, and this was just more looking. My bridesmaid with us had to use the bathroom and was told, she couldn't cause the toilet was clogged. My mom saw the look on my face of being extremely uncomfortable with this whole experience and when the lady came back, I decided to leave. I was there for about 30 minutes and it was horrible. Then to come to find out that a comment is made about a same sex marriage when Minnesota is one of the most accepting states in the US about same sex is unreal. I would never recommend anyone going there in the future. read more

Thankfully I was not shopping here for my wedding, unfortunately I'm in a wedding in which the bride is. I overheard the salesperson speaking with a bride next to me, if she didn't feel awful about herself prior to the appointment she did after. This same salesperson came over and told me "this dress is way too small for you". I had been working with another salesperson who recommended I size down. There were no bulges or rolls...and most importantly I felt more comfortable in this dress...not to mention, I measured to the dress I had on. I really liked this Davids Bridal despite what other people say. I had a beautiful dress. I am a plus size and they never once made me feel fat. Nancy is the best! She will make you feel special and is such a sweet lady! The dress i wanted was $200 out of my price range and after talking to the manager they dropped the price for me :) I love them and would recommend them to people. Yes it came 3 days later but it looked like they went in the alley found a raggedy nasty box to ship it in. It was loosely taped and appeared to be tampered with. This place is awful especially their alterations department. They have no concept of customer service and I really, really wish I didn't go there and went some where else. The alteration department didn't alter my dress correctly and I had to have them redo the alterations fast because I was hopping on a flight to Vegas to get married. Basically was picking up my dress on the way to the airport. Then we had our wedding reception in October and again alterations was suppose to steam and press my dress....which they didn't do and my mother was ironing my dress the night before our reception. Called and spoke with the manager who didn't care and was rude. The alterations manager name is Monica and she's awful! My advice...don't even set foot in the door!! read more

My friend is getting married this May, so today we went to David's Bridal in Richfield to get her wedding dress fitted. Within minutes of walking in the door, I was appalled at the inappropriate behavior of your sales associates. First, the woman helping her asked if her wedding dress was a bridesmaid's dress. When she learned it was a wedding dress, she replied, "Oh... I see...", clearly disapproving. My friend tried on her dress to show the associate that it needed to be sized up because she is pregnant. My friend told the associate that she needed only one size bigger, but she insisted that that size would never fit her--she made my friend feel incredibly self-conscious. Additionally, my friend told the associate that she was pregnant discreetly, which was immediately disregarded--the associate then spoke loudly of the pregnancy with another worker, Liz (the first woman wasn't wearing a visible name tag), loud enough for me to hear from another section of the store. Liz knocked on my friend's fitting room door, then immediately opened the door without permission (my friend wasn't dressed yet). Later, Liz loudly complained about her previous customer in front of her associates and numerous customers, claiming that she was difficult to work with, which we found to be inappropriate as well. When we went to check out, the two associates asked if it was okay to tack on extra fees (as if we knew the initial price, which we were not made aware of until this time). Even after the fitting and deciding on a size and price, the women told my friend that they didn't think the dress would fit her. We are incredibly unhappy with your service. In the future, please consider being more sensitive to the brides who come in for you assistance--it was heartbreaking to see my friend treated with such disrespect. read more

The ladies at the Richfield Davids Bridal have seldom disappointed me in getting us rooms for my bridesmaids, helping me find my wedding dress, and staying friendly.
