I had such a good experience. Savana and Julia were exceptional. I pulled a lot of dresses to try and there was never a "side eye" or like I was inconveniencing them. They were supportive and fun, giving thoughtful feedback with every dress. The cost of each dress played no part. I tried on a $150 dress, and several that went well over $1000. Savana was adorable, and definitely the kind of help you're looking for when shopping. My friend and I both talked about how fun and helpful she was as we drove back home. I went to another bridal store before this and the store manager didn't say a word to me when I came in wearing a t shirt and joggers, my assumption was she was expecting I probably didn't have the budget for her dresses. She helped three people before even acknowledging I walked in, and then helped a man for a full suit fitting who came in after me. She finally got around to asking me what I was looking for. Once I told her my budget she was incredibly helpful.... I am including this to highlight the complete opposite experience is what I got with Julia and Savana. I found a dress and don't feel bad about spending the amount I will for the service and selection I received.

My daughter picked out a dress there and when she got to the cash register they would not let her buy the dress until she wrote a 5 star review. Once the review was posted and they could read it then they sold her the dress. What kind of B.S. is that? Then she wanted the dress shortened. It was a simple straight hem for a straight dress. They charged her $125 and attached is the picture of their shoddy sewing! UGH.

This was the first time we had been to Famous Footwear and it was a bit of a shock. The store itself is a mess with rows and rows of shoe boxes and not much actual merchandise on display so you pretty much need to know what you want before you go as "window shopping". There is not good seating for you to try on shoes - if you can find what you want in the chaos. There was a person there who was helpful but in the end we did not find what we wanted and went down a couple of doors to Shulers Shoes which had a much better selection, a better environment, and more professional service. There we bought a pair of shoes and some accessories. I would not go back to Famous Footwear.

During this visit, the manager called another store to learn if they had the shoes we needed in my son's size. Fortunately, they did, so we bought the wingtips that we'd found at this location and drove over to the Savage location for the sneakers needed for school. Yes, my 14 year-old son wears wingtips. Most of the men's shoes have sizes up to 16, so it's pretty easy to find what you need here. They even carry these larger sizes in medium width. My son doesn't have wide feet, so it can be difficult to get shoes that work well with his gun boats. The women's shoes on offer are great, too. Stylish and not all super-high heels. They recognize that not every woman wishes to reach for the stars when she's wearing nice shoes.

I loved checking out all the Halloween decor as well as some of the other home goods. The prices are pretty fair for most items. So i know textiles, quality of construction, price points. And this Marshalls is not getting the quality merchandise they used to get / years ago. Women's clothing us almost a disaster. Fabric, construction, wearability after repeated washing, poor poor poor. I now rate this dept a one star. I stopped looking.. Luggage: used to be one of their top departments where every now and then you found quality labels and some very good construction. Rate a 3 star. Men's clothing you must read labels, examine fabric construction quality VERY carefully i rate a 4 star. All shoes are simply terrible, a one star. Don't even look. Women's lingerie under garments: HUGE drop in quality . Bras have inferior non stretching elastic, most of inventory has manufacturing defects ( must try on), very poor materials. Rate one star. Women's sleep wear: hunt VERY carefully, this was a top dept. rate 3-4 star. Read labels, examine quality of fabrics carefully. Bedding towels: this WAS a 5 star area, now 2-3. VERY high prices, very poor boring selection of prints styles colors. HUGE disappointment. Decorative/ kitchen/ housewares: one of the only areas which is still good. Hunt very carefully, some prices are TOO high. Rate 3-5 star Food products: WAS my favorite, now a 4 star. watch out for very high prices. Some items are poor low quality mfg trying to copy the " look" of famous $$ brands. Lotions /hair products/ face creams/ soaps: The MOST drastic change of all with many products disguised with copy cat labels of expensive brands WHEN in fact... they are poorly made cheaply in CHINA where ingredients for safety etc are poorly monitored. Take GREAT care what you apply to your face. Rate one star. These changes have happened very very fast in the last 18 months- 2 years. Read your sunday sale fliers for bargains at Target, Macy's, Walgreen Target's cosmetics have improved a lot and at decent price points. Marshalls is trying to increase their profits by stocking with pretty packaged decorated designed colored " pretend" products made very poorly in China. READ labels VERY carefully. Take more time to hunt CAREFULLY. There are still some good buys, just not as many.
