In my opinion, the store probably rates two, maybe three stars in general. It's a get in, get what you want, get out kind of place. I wasn't that impressed with their service when we went to choose bridesmaid dresses. The staff just let us do our own thing and took down our measurements at the end. They appear to do the bare minimum to satisfy thier clients. I personally wouldn't want to buy my wedding dress there as I'd certainly like more attention from the associates than what the bridal party opposite of us was getting. The reason I am giving them one star, which may be a little bias, is that their automatic appointment reminder system sent me a text saying I had an appointment two weeks before my actual scheduled appointment. I assumed I had just written the date down on my calendar wrong and drove two hours to go pick up a dress they didn't have. That was four hours round trip and I ended up in a minor accident on the way when I had absolutely no reason to be on the road. Moral of the story, if you intend to do business with these guys please please please verify all of your appointments with them and don't get burned like I did. read more

We made an appointment for 2 o'clock and I didn't get a confirmation letter. I began to worry so I called to make sure and they had lost my appointment and wanted us there at 5. Okay. Not too bad. We get there and we're offered no assistance. The women that was supposed to help me with finding my perfect prom dress looked like she'd rather be anywhere but there. Never offered to get me other sizes and rolled her eyes. We were upset and didn't want to waste time and left. On our way out, 2 of the front desk ladies didn't thank us or tell us to have a nice day. If they had, we would've told them exactly our feelings, but we were appalled. read more

I worked with Courtney as my bridal consultant, and she was wonderful! She had a great eye, and was great at asking the right questions to help me find a dress that I loved. The space is much less private than other bridal boutiques, which was only a problem for me on one visit when it was much busier. She said oh honey you're no size 6, you're an 8 at best. I was seething. Then she walked in on me several times. Not even a warning. I'm standing there with my bare breasts out and she opens the curtain for the whole public to see my women's parts. This was gross. I ended up only buying a few miscellaneous items for my wedding. This woman gave out my info to some Mary Kay woman who repeatedly called me because she got my information from David's Bridal. Came here for bridesmaids dresses and yet again kind of dissapointned with staff. Mainly the manager, she is heavier set glasses curly hair and I think her name is Debbie. We came in for a walk in and she wasn't friendly no hi how are you, thank you for coming. Nothing warm super cold vibes. The girl who is new was very sweet. But she wasnt listening to what I was saying. She kept on getting dresses we could try on sizes with dresses they can order. I. E. She would say yes we have that size, I would say to try on. And she would say no. Then she had my friend try on dresses of different styles "just for size". But clearly these weren't the same fit. It was a little annoying. Then the manager who cashed us out wasnt nice. No thank you for your business, no nothing. Maybe corporate needs to come up to do management training because they aren't friendly here . She let my sister help me out and she actually listened to what I wanted, she got little accessories to show me and the family how things could work to give me exactly what I wanted! I came here with a group of girls to look at bridesmaid dresses. We had an appointment but showed up early. They wouldn't let us check in because we were too early but we went through the store and pulled dresses. Once it got a little closer to our appointment time we checked in and someone promptly found us to show us to a fitting room. We are a pretty self sufficient set of girls so we didn't really need a lot of attention which was good since the person helped us was busy with other people. The fitting rooms are incredibly small. I imagine it is that way so they can have more consultations but it is annoying. You can barely move to try on a dress and when there are 5 girls who all need to try on dresses things can take a little while longer. In the end we found a dress that is super flattering on all of us. It was also a very good price. Our dresses came fairly quick and it was an easy process to pick them up. I am happy with it. Overall, if you are looking for a super personalized experience, i would skip this place but if you okay with being on your own, make a stop here. I would've thought an appointment meant someone would be helping us look at styles and sizes but instead the attendants were helping all the brides that were looking and just popping over to check on us and offered no real help. I came here to try on a bridesmaids dress, for a friends wedding. I walked into this store on a Saturday afternoon and it was super busy, which I kind of expected considering the time of year it is and all that. The woman at the front desk was very brusque with me, and barely even looked at me when she spoke to me. Again, I understand they were busy so just let it go. The girl that came to "fetch" and help me, wasn't really pleasant at all. She was kind of just going through the motions, and the whole thing felt really rushed. I got to my dressing room, went in to try the dress on, came out and she had disappeared. The dress I had on was a little big so when she came back, I inquired as to whether or not I should go down a size. She then kind of poked at me and basically told me I was scrawny. Yes, I'm small, I get it, but scrawny is a bit of an insult. I did get the answer to my question though, and then she went on her way again. After changing, I came out of the room and she was nowhere to be found, so I hung my dress and left. Never did she ask if I actually wanted to put in an order for the thing or if I needed anything else, so I left. This would've been a one star review, but later in this process I did work with people that were actually pretty helpful and much more pleasant. I found the dress I needed online, but completely out of my size and had a minor freak out as I had waited until the last minute and the bride was going to kill me. Called the store, and the woman on the other end was super helpful and understanding (guess this kind of thing happens a lot). Got the dress ordered and all of the information I needed in under 10 minutes. I dreaded going to the store to pick it up, but the second time around was much more pleasant. The girl that helped me was really friendly, and actually pretty understanding of the fact that it was pretty obvious that this was the last place that I wanted to be. I even thanked her for being way nicer than the last girl. and she apologized that I had a poor experience. I feel like that's how customer service SHOULD be. read more

Every experience I've had at this store since getting engaged has been wonderful! I'm pretty indecisive and not a girl who was obsessed with finding "the dress"- but my first appointment was relaxed and Nora who I worked with was so helpful! I found a perfect dress and when I went back for alterations and wanted to make some changes to make it more my style, the staff and alterations department were very helpful and so patient as I weighed all my different options. In the end, they were able to customize it perfectly to what I wanted! We had a great experience shopping for bridesmaids dresses, too! We went on a Saturday at 11am. I guess we didn't have crazy high expectations & we are pretty low key on things. But it was crazy busy. There were 3 of us. I did not actually go INTO the shop as I live approx 125 miles away. However, In august I went to the davids bridal in Madison Tn and was sold the incorrect thing. I did not notice untill I got back to NY at which point the shop in TN would not take the item back since I would need to ship it to them. In desperation, I called the Rochester DB and spoke with a very nice lady who was able to get my correct sash mailed out to me right away. My dress is very plain a line. So I wanted a apple red embellished sash to jazz it up. The girls at the Roch DB really saved my wedding and I can't thank them enough! read more

My sister had a 6:30pm appointment, and we arrived about 20 minutes early. My niece wanted to try on dresses for the wedding and it was not an issue. We worked with 2 stylists, Kathy and Lori. They made wedding dress shopping easy and fun. Made suggestions that we never would have thought of. My sister found "the dress" at a very fair price. Great value. Don't shop there! I bought mother of the bride dress, told it was a new style which I liked. At check out signing credit card they informed me no returns. So even if u find a different you are out of luck and no I did not have it hemmed yet. So I was in Von Maur with bride looking for a shower dress and there is my dress, same color, designer and size! We went there to get bridesmaids dresses and our assistant Amanda was so rude to us and not very helpful. None of the dresses we tried on would zip and she told me "it'll zip when you get the right size." She took my measurements and said i was measuring at a size 6 (the size i was previously trying on that wouldn't zip). We ordered our dresses and and they said they would email when they came in. Only one person in our party got an email so i called and they said all of our dresses were in and we had seven days to pick them up from the day i called. I went to pick the dress up and the woman at the front desk was so rude to us and passed us off to another woman. She was also rude to us and said that she doesn't control the emails so it's not her fault we didn't know (so then it's not our fault that we didn't come get the dresses on time, right?). I tried on my dress while i was there and as luck would have it, amanda was our assistant again. She was so focused on another bride that she didn't even pay any attention to us. My dress still wouldn't zip ( the matieral changes making it hard to zip even when it's off) and i asked for her help to zip it. She tried and said "oh when you get your dress it'll zip." I told her that it WAS my dress and she then called over another assistant to look at it. The another assistant tired to to zip it and wasn't able to. She told me to just go home and zip it a few times and it will be get better. This business has terrible communication skills and even worse customer service skills. I just wanted to provide some feedback to your company due to the service my bridesmaids and I received at your Rochester, NY store in South Town Plaza. If I was to rate your store's service it would have been a ZERO. My bridesmaids , my mother and myself entered the store back in February for Bridesmaids dress shopping. It was rather busy which I can understand heading into the New Year and the beginning of tax season. I will say that we we're greeted on arrival and the sales associate that helped us did what she could between rushing dresses back and forth and sizing my girls due to the hustle and bustle. So I do not blame her at all! My troubles started AFTER this occasion. One of my maid of honors had to phone order her dress, since she could not pay in full the day we stopped in. It took about 45 minutes for the sales associates and managers to find our Event, telling my bridesmaid that there was nothing on file of us actually being in the store. When they finally did find our "event" it was linked to a completely different person with a COMPLETELY different address in Pensacola, FL. My bridesmaid had then given the manager of the store, whose name is Rachel, all of my correct contact information and was told that this shouldn't happen again. About 3 weeks later, my other bridesmaid finally received a call that her dress was in store to pick up, and when she went into the store to retrieve her dress, she went through the SAME 45 minute HASSLE of the associates not knowing if the dress was there, and couldn't find our event, even though not even 24 HOURS earlier they said it was there. When I went into the store 3 days later, (And i work Sales so trust me I went in there with and understanding that stuff happens), I spoke with the manager Rachel and she assured me that she would call the Florida store and have them change the event to Rochester. Well when I didnt hear from Rachel after a about 3 days, I called and she still told me that her hands were tied and that the Florida store didn't want to change the event to Rochester, NY . Okay. My biggest beef with them was when we CALLED the ROCHESTER STORE, to make the appointment, I gave them all the information letter by letter, word for word, how did it just magically appear in Florida?!!? Anyways after being able to pick up all of my girls dresses, without any problems, I will say we consistently had to wait for service when their were 4 people at the front check in DOING NOTHING but talking to one another. What really broke the camels back, is when I recently went in with my future mother in law for her to pick up her dress, once again NOW 5 associates are all the front, standing there. Nobody even came back to check in with her about her dress and the fit, style, etc. The same time I had to pick up swatches of my bridesmaids dress colors so I can give to my fiance for their tux's. AND I GOT CHARGED? $2.08? I'm not complaining about the price, but literally EVERYTHING my bridesmaids and I had to go through and the service we received, we have to pay extra for something that can be cut off a sample booklet?!?! RIDICULOUS! I will not be giving ANYMORE money to David's Bridal and will make sure my friends that are getting married STAY CLEAR of this store! read more

I had come to this location before visiting the Buffalo location. I had made an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time for both bridesmaid and bridal dress. When we went for my bridesmaid we had a downright rude girl. She didnt want to help I searched myself and she came back at the end to ask if I wanted to order today. Then for my bridal experience i was told if I didn't like it there I could go somewhere else. Also you have a strict budget when going dress shopping and every dress brought to me was 500+ over my budget. I will recommend the Buffalo store any day over Rochester read more

She helped me find "the dress" on the first visit I had (first time trying on dresses) and was patient with me when I wanted to come back a week later and look at more dresses (yes, I still went with the original one she helped me find.) I think it helps that I've gone late/non peek hours so I'm not battling the crowds some people have commented on. My daughter had six weeks to purchase a bridesmaid's dress for a wedding that was out of town. The bride had registered at David's in another city and chose a dress that came in six styles. My daughter was able to try on several sizes to determine the right fit. They did not have the dress in stock, and ordering was a concern, time wise. The sales associate then offered to try to find one at another store. Viola! The dress arrived in 2 days by express mail. Yes, it was off the rack, not custom ordered, but it fit perfectly. So...happy! And, the price of the dress was very reasonable. read more

They are horrible at scheduling. I went there on a Sunday afternoon to shop for bridesmaids dresses and a wedding dress for my friend, which I knew would be busy but not like it was. I couldn't even walk in the door because there were so many people waiting to be taken care of. The girl that was assigned to us was no help at all. All she told us was pick two dresses and try them on, you're in these two rooms... We all had to guess our dress sizes and pick some. My friend wanted different dresses in the same color. So on our own we had to find out which dresses came in which colors. We all had to go get different sizes since the ones we originally got weren't right, so we had to run through the store with a ton of people in it with dresses either too tight or falling off to find a different size. When it was time for my friend to try on her wedding gown we all had to huddle around a room and most of us were sitting on the floor and being stepped on and having dresses being carried over our heads. There were only two chairs allowed per party since there were so many people. When she was trying on her dress there were people everywhere and not enough time apparently to really try on the gown, move in it and really decide if you love it. At one point, behind us some young girls were trying on prom dresses and a girls dressing room got taken from her when she was out looking for another dress to try on. So she had to wait there until the people they let in were done. And the fact that all sales are final is ridiculous. Do you know how many weddings are planned and cancelled? Quite a lot. I understand that once a dress is altered it cannot be taken back, that makes sense. But one that was just ordered from a warehouse, never been worn or messed with cant be returned? Doesn't make sense. read more

The word "factory" comes to mind. We felt as though we were rushed through a line of dresses in order to get us in and out. Our saleswoman was pushy and not very helpful. She did not pull any bridesmaid dresses for us and continued to remind us that we only had until noon. (We had a one hour appointment) Also, we were a group of 5 and had to share one dressing room. This is suppose to be an exciting time for a bride but instead ours felt rushed and discouraged. We got our dresses somewhere else the same day. Don't waste your time here. I called ahead to see if they had 2 dresses I saw online, was told they did, and made an appointment. When I got there, the consultant told me they didn't have the dresses I had asked about. Without asking my budget or what I liked, she started pulling dresses. When I made it clear I was not interested in trying on strapless dresses, she brought two strapless dresses in because she was "going to talk me into it." After 5 dresses that I hated, I tried one on that seemed pretty good....but was 3 TIMES my budget. Instead of taking it off and pulling dresses within my budget, she putzed around and talked to my best friend and me for another 10 minutes before asking if I was sure I couldn't "stretch my budget for the perfect dress." Once I had made it VERY CLEAR exactly what I was willing to spend, her mood changed and she brought me 2 nasty-looking dresses from the sale rack. She pretty much stopped talking to us, so we finally just left. She made a point to tell us that she was moving soon, so if I was going to buy a dress, be sure to use her number and soon so that she would get the commission. I'm sure they have some nice dresses. Maybe I could have found one if the consultant wasn't so concerned with making money and doing her own thing. I went to a small boutique and had a much better experience. read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience at David's Bridal. When my maid of honor and I walked through the door, we checked in. Naturally, I assumed that we would be helped. Nope! We waited for about 5-10 minutes in front of two women who didn't say a word to us (it was like we were invisible!). Finally, a bridal consultant showed up. While she was friendly, she pulled dresses way past my price range that she was told. Not only were the dresses too expensive, they were significantly lower quality than cheaper dresses I had tried on at previous stores. The attendant kept pulling more dresses, with the price going up and the quality going down. After trying on a white-white dress with yellow ivory appliqués that made the dress look sun damaged, we decided it was time to go. What an awful experience! This was the first store I went to go wedding dress shopping, I was very disappointed. I had 4 guests with me who sat down in 4 chairs, right after they took their coats off an associate came and told them very rudely that they will need to get up once someone else comes. We understood that they only had 2 chairs per dressing room but were there for just over 2 hours and no one else came. I feel like they should have politely asked us to move once other customers arrived. The bridal consultant I had just left after I took my last dress off, she didn't say good bye or tell me what we needed to do to save the dress that I did like. We had other appointments that day so I wanted to see what else was out there. I just wanted dress shopping to be a fun, memorable experience. I bought the wedding party their gifts to ask him to be apart of the wedding and she wouldn't let us take the time to even look at what I got them, she made us feel very rushed.
