My stylist Deanna was amazing. What gave this 1 star is my dress that was ordered online and shipped to the store. THE DRESS THEY GAVE ME IS A SAMPLE. Online, it's not "As-Is" like all the sample sales are labeled. I did not pay that much for a SAMPLE wedding dress. I'm obviously upset. It was clear that the dress is a sample because it was so dirty! I can't believe this. The seamstress reassured me that it would be spot cleaned after I paid over $500 for the alterations. But... why did they send me a SAMPLE DRESS when my purchase was for a brand new dress? This is such a scam! Update: Spoke with manager and they will find if there is a new dress available. Update 2: they weren't able to find a dress in better condition so they offered to dry clean it. The dry cleaning did remove a lot of the dirt but I think that procedure should've been built into the return process of the dress to prevent the extra time it has cost everyone. read more

Initially, my experience with purchasing my wedding dress at David's bridal was fantastic. I found an affordable dress and had a great experience however that all changed in September when I began my alteration nightmare September 15 I went in for a first fitting and was told that it would take an additional fitting to alter my dress The second fitting, I was told that it would take one more and my dress would be ready for my November wedding and that's where it got a little crazy The dress was not ready when promised and with three days before my wedding, I had to find a new Seamstress to correct alteration mistakes and complete the dress. Be cautious when purchasing your dress to ensure that it fits properly or find a seamstress outside of David bridal alterations save yourself the heartache and stress. read more

I ordered a dress on clearance that fit perfectly but I wanted a different style so I ordered a new dress in the same size. When I got it and tried it on, it was at least two sizes too small even though it was exactly the same size and material and almost the same style as the first dress. I paid full price for the second dress so I needed to return it and read in the return policy policy that the restocking fee would be waived if I returned it in store even though I bought it online. So I took it in to the nearest store which is 45 minutes from my house and was charged the restocking fee anyway. I showed the store manager the return policy on the website and she said it was incorrect and that they charge the restocking fee on all returns no matter if returned via mail or to the store. I was warned against buying from David's Bridal based on a couple of friends telling me it had a bad. I should have listened. read more

Showed up with my sister for her first ever bridal appointment- they closed earlier and did not call to inform her and cancel her appointment. With the crazy weather, unfortunate things happen that we cannot predict, but it is extremely unprofessional and disappointing to make an hour drive for no reason. Furthermore, when calling an alternate location to see if they had an available appointment and informing them of the situation , I was disappointed that they said because of the weather, the store couldn't call. However, David's Bridal is a national company with the capacity to see what locations are out of power to cancel the appointments accordingly. I truly hope everyone working there is safe and healthy, and that their homes are unaffected. Hopefully they will update their future systems to address this issue. read more

She knew me better than I knew myself at times, and because of her care and commitment, I got to walk away with my dream wedding dress and shoes. Upon arrival was not bad. The lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming, yet the overall experience was not I expected as a first time bride shopping for a wedding dress. No drinks were offered, there was no where to set our purses down, there was no riser to stand on with the dress in order to get the full effect from the dress (especially if it was too long). I am glad I did not have my whole wedding party come because there was not adequate seating in the store. Only two plastic chairs in the back next to the dressing room. I did not feel the excitement from the staff regarding this experience for me and felt as if I was shopping for regular clothes. The stylist seemed young and inexperienced and never addressed my mother or greeted her the whole time we were there. I would think as a stylist, it would be helpful to say if something looks good on your body shape, or if a certain shade of white brings out your skin tone more but the only thing that was mentioned was, what would you rate this dress on a scale of 1-10. Or when I was looking for wedding dresses on the rack, she did not direct me in any way to ask if I had a preference on straps, sweetheart neckline, halter top, a line, mermaid, ball gown etc. The only thing mentioned was that I had a limit of 4 dresses to try on that day (they were not busy at all), and I was directed to the section for the style of dress I had in mind, but was not told what else they had to offer throughout the store. read more

I received a call from Ashley (the manager) and she refunded me the money David's Bridal owed me. Thank you Ashley! I ordered a brand new wedding dress at David's Bridal in Houston. I paid an additional $800 for alterations. I asked David's Bridal to ship the dress to NYC, where I reside at the moment. When the dress arrived and I tried it on, I noticed that the alterations were not done. I had to wear the dress unaltered on my wedding day. I went to the store and asked for my money back after the wedding, but David's Bridal won't return me the money. They charged for alterations which were not done. They owe me $800 and their customer service is not willing to help. Such horrible customer service!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is by far the worst David's Bridal I've been to. I highly recommend shopping at a different bridal store all together. Their online return policy for in store is absurd. Sometimes it's impossibly to make returns within a short time frame. Not everyone wants an exchange store credit, especially if they don't have any weddings to attend. Jessica Brown is one of the managers at this location, in which she is also rude. I will make sure no bride I know will get any recommendations from me for this place. I decided to check this place out on my off day thinking that I would start seriously dress shopping. I booked my appt and had a stylist named Jessica. The entire time, my MOM had to put clips on my dress. She would just stand there unless I asked "hey can you clip this dress for me" and I had to repeat myself with EVERY dress I tried on until I walked out. My MOM and my COUSIN shouldn't have to be the ones who are clipping me up, they should be the ones who watch AFTER I'm clipped up by the stylist. And my mom and cousin were the ones who were spreading out my train and the cathedral veils I tried on because Jessica was just STANDING THERE watching. Imagine that, I'm the bride and my mother has to fix me up instead of trying to focus on which dress best suits me. On top of that, the stylist told me that my dress will come in a month before the wedding - June. So I felt extremely pressured to purchase a dress that cost over $1k. At the checkout, however, she told me that it will come in April. So which is it, April or June? I just called the store because I had gotten an email stating that the veil had shipped already. However, the sales associate told me that I can get my dress and veil together if I wait for a few more days. When I asked her how that is possible if I was told that the dress won't get here until April, she replied "oh that's great that it'll get here earlier than you expected!" I am very disappointed in their customer service. Getting commission by lying to the customer and making them feel pressured to purchase an expensive product due to false time constraints should be illegal. I will definitely be contacting corporate and making sure none of the several brides I know who are getting married next year shops here. Give the revenue to a small business - at least they will be more honest. BRIDES- DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Another thing, every bride dreams of the day they find their dress and takes pictures for keepsake. My cousin asked Jessica to take a "she said yes to the dress!" pic after I selected it and she never did it. So thanks to that, I don't even have a picture of that day to keep as a memory. These were the exact words told to me by an employee and a store manager. Not even a month later...the dress is $259 off its original price. I absolutely love this location! The staff is very sweet & helpful. One staff member in particular went above & beyond to help me. Marissa helped me a few times with exchanging an item and with the fitting of my bridesmaid dress. I have two looks- either I'm dressed in a suit during the week for work or I look homeless on the weekends. I rarely wear dresses. She made me feel very comfortable and made sure my dress fitted right and answered all my questions. She really is a rock star and I really appreciated her patience and her professionalism. I usually am very pleased with my purchases here. Today I went to The Town Centre location to purchase a white satin torsolette (strapless corsette) in 38 DD. Marissa P, sales clerk, was about to ring it up. When I told her I needed to verify the bra size. It was on a hanger inside a plastic bag. So she pointed to the price tag with the size. I briefly saw something a little dark on the bra but thought it might be the bag with a smudge on it. I'm glad I listened to God's voice and told her I needed to pull it out of the bag and check the bra tag. There was DIRT on the fasteners and upon further observation more DIRT on the underarm and inside the white bra. I told Marissa this is DIRTY! She proceeds to look and say we can try and wipe it off. This is a $79.95 bra. I told her NO WAY was I BUYING a DIRTY BRA. No apologies or whatever. I ask for another one. The other sales clerk brings out two and they meet on the opposite end of the counter whispering. I overheard them say this is a 40 DD. Then Marissa asks her, " Why did you bring it out." I'm standing in disbelief. Still no suggestions from her to locate one. I request she check other stores ---- none in stock. Then she says we can order it. I knew there was a $30 charge which was the reason for me driving over in the first place. I wanted it shipped to my home instead of the store. Then she replies I usually charge extra for that. Granted this is the same clerk who tried to sell and then pass off a DIRTY BRA to me. What would have happened if I discovered this days later. THEY WOULD HAVE BLAMED THE DIRTY BRA ON ME. I requested she ask the manager to have it shipped to my home. The manager agreed to ship it FREE OF CHARGE. The moral of the story is CHECK ALL TAGS AND CLEANLINESS OF MERCHANDISE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. I won't ever be as trusting again. Marissa I learned a valuable lesson. Horrible alteration department. They altered my MOB dress in the shoulders so that the dress is cutting into my skin. When I went back and it was still tight (a week later) the alteration manager tried to claim it was my fault because I had gained an inch and a half in my Breast measurements in one week. seriously???? Obviously the ladies in alterations don't have a clue... from measuring you to altering the dress. Complete incompetence. Now I have to find an ethical place to fix my dress less than a month before the wedding... Oh and I paid $460 for alterations. Complete rip off! Avoid this place at all costs! I left in tears after being humiliated in front of a bunch of strangers after the alteration manager basically told me I'm fat. Never before have I been so disrespected by someone. read more

When I came back to the store I was given a great stylist that gave great suggestions and made me feel beautiful for my special day. I even got a coupon for booking an appointment which was great! She listened when I rambled on about styles and how I was uncertain anything would look good on me and proved me wrong! I had a horrible experience ordering my dress. I was told that they were going to order me a new dress and instead I received a old used torn up dress that should have never been in inventory. When I realized what was done I was told that they were not able to order me a new dress in time and gave me the run around. A week later they stated another dress from a store was available and asked if I wanted to come look at it. You could tell it had some wear and tear but looked a lot better than the first dress I was given. At that time I asked about alterations in which I was told by an associate that they would be covered and so would the rush fee. I was discouraged and had no faith in this company until I met the lady from alterations Xiomara, she was an Angel in disguise not only did she do the alterations for me but she helped me to get the old dress to make sleeves for the dress so that they could match. To top it off the dress was also done earlier than expected. David's Bridal needs more associates like her. Her attention to detail and personalization sets a standard that all employees should follow. If there was a way to put 5 stars for her I would. Arriving at David Bridal I was greeted by 3 employees. I selected the earliest appointment because I read Davids Bridal can get very busy. Upon arrival two of the girls at the greeting desk shuffled thru papers, I was told my appointment could not be found but I could be accommodated. Really? I called to confirm the day before... Quickly I was given a few minutes to look at the rack of dresses. During my search I informed the girl helping me that I had no idea what I wanted. She gave me a few options and said she'll get my fitting room ready. While trying on dresses the manager Jessica keep interrupting my attendant. Not sure what was happening but the girl helping me seemed stressed and rushed. Once my 90 minutes appointment was coming to an end I was told "If I can't find a dress, you'll have to reschedule for another appointment." Really? I was unattended for long periods of time in dresses I was asked to not take off on my own. My attendant apologized a few times for leaving me, and even allowed for my guest to help me in and out of dresses. After stating that I fell in love with a dress but un certain if I should purchase since It was my first time trying on dresses, the attendant started to push for a sell. I was convinced to purchase the dress because the dress is on sale and was told the sale was only for that weekend. I mean who doesn't want to save money. Feeling under pressure with the thought of "saving money" I purchased the dress. Again I had no intention of purchasing a dress that day. Now having spent the money, I went back to the store 1 week after purchasing the dress. I tried on the dress again and was not very happy. I asked what I can do, I was only given the option to switch for an equal value or more. So I did exactly as I was lead to do. I tried on more dresses. :( Going home, I still felt like I was pushed on a sale. After doing some research, I wish I was told about the return policy for online and in store purchase. :( I also wish I was told the dress would still be on sale weeks later! Today 2/19/2016 Felling overwhelmed and unhappy with my experience, I reached out the 1800- number. I spoke to customer service, (rep was extremely nice and helpful) but nothing was done. I was on hold for about 40 minutes, and on the call for no more than 10. Customer Rep, said she contacted Sugar land office. Not sure who she spoke too. But she was told that the return will not be honored. Because this would be the 3rd dress. Really? At this point I feel like a number with no personal connection. During my call I was informed the dress is ready for pick up..??? WHAT??? I was told the dress will not be ready until mid April. Also I have not been reached by anyone to inform me the dress is ready for pick up. Is this another strategy to push a customer off? As a customer I am beginning to feel uncertain to do business with David's Bridal. Feels like David's Bridal Jessica Sugar Lands interest is their commission and sales numbers. Also my question is how long has the dress been ready for pick up? Highly highly upset. This was my second appointment (my come back appointment) where I was going to confirm that I wanted the dress. They said I had to schedule with my stylist, Jordan, which is ok. When I get there, I had to wait 40 minutes for someone to finally help me while everyone else that was a walk-in moved around me (I waited 20 minutes the time before). Whenever I got to the back, they informed me that she wasn't there. So why not give me a different person instead of making me look like a fool waiting for someone who didn't come into work today? I was so upset that I cried. Finding a wedding dress should be a happy time. Now the dress I LOVED is a sad memory for me and makes me unhappy. Been here twice. The second time was for my appointment to find my wedding dress. This review will be about my second visit. I had made an appointment through the online site. I thought it was weird that I did not receive a reminder of my appointment. I had made it the day before of my appointment. So the day of the appointment, I was in with my sister. The lady who looked like she was the manager was in the front, she looked up as we walked in and looked back down on her paper... I thought that was pretty rude. She did not acknowledge us and went back to doing what she was doing, so I had to go "hi, I have a appointment at 4 today..." She then asks, "whats it for?" and before I can responds she assumes and asks "bridesmaids?" and I responded "no, bride" She looks into her book/computer and seems like she did not find my name, but still calls up one of the saleswomen to assist me. She then tells me the saleswomen will be right up to help me. My sister and I had to wait awkwardly standing in front of her for a good 5 minutes before she goes "Oh, here's the bridal book to look through while you wait... and you could walk around though the dresses and see if you like anything..." so my sis and I go and walk through the aisle to look at the dress but i think it was her way of shooing us away. Finally, after about 10-15 minutes of waiting saleswomen comes up to me. The whole process of it felt very sketchy. It just did not feel like they really care, just want to sell you the dress and expect you to buy it the same day and also sell you on their credit card. She goes "you could also get the 6 months payment no interest if you sign up for our credit card." The way she try to sell me it was so casual as well. Of course I said no to it. Prior to this appointment, I had been to 3 other bridal shops and none of them were any like this place. The other places I went to had such a better environment and lovely employees. The next day I received an email from Davids Bridal to confirm my appointment for a different day I had scheduled. I rechecked my snapshot of my appointment and I have no idea how they had messed up my appointment. My snapshot was the correct day that I had chosen, but the email was a whole different day... All in all, it was a bad experience here and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to go in store with no appointment and try on the dresses yourself and find what size you'll need and order it online, theres always some kind of promotional coupon you can use. read more

I showed up on time for my appt, and after 20minutes of waiting, someone finally rushes over & says she had been looking for her clipboard. I thought to myself, "no problem" I was just excited to get started. I then realized she still hadn't found the clipboard, so this was her way of telling me I'd be waiting longer. No apology, just an explanation of why I had to wait. For a clipboard. Another 15 minutes went by, I started browsing around and caught the woman "frantically looking for her clipboard" talking to another sales associate. Clearly I wasn't the priority. -_- By this point, I had looked through the dresses myself and was not impressed with the quality or style of any. Never again. read more

It's a little disappointing to know that their smallest size is a 2. Naturally, someone as small as I am has to get a lot of alterations done. I had to have the bust, waist, and hips taken in..not to mention 1" at the hem. How much did the alterations cost me? $124. Yep. Almost as much as the dress ($140). If I had known it would be this expensive, I'd have done my alterations elsewhere. I should have asked, but I assumed it couldn't possibly be over $50. My advice: Get your alterations done elsewhere. I'm going to be picking up my bridesmaid dress later this month and I pray to God it fits me like a glove. If it doesn't, I'll be one angry lady. Had to chase around the shop to find dresses and were then told we couldn't try gowns on without help (yet none was offered or appeared) Total cluster. Then the lady that checked us out was a total mare. My friend wasn't buying the whole "bridal thing" and just wanted to have her day, her way, so the check out lady was sarcastic and rude to her. Fast forward 7 days, friend has worn the dress once and the beading and stitching had all started to fall off the dress. She tried to return it today, turns out the rude mare from last week is a manager, and friend was flat out refused, in spite of a defective product. Friend also cut her foot while trying on a dress - the security tag was on wrong and made her bleed. No one in this store gave a crap. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere where people give a toss about you and their product. My appointment was at 10:30 for a special occasion dress. I prepared a favorites list online and when I got there they pulled all of my dresses. I was able to get my shoes, bra, even my headband. They girls were amazing and I felt like a princess. My husband kept telling them thank you for taking good care of me, as he knows how difficult it can be to shop for formal wear. I was crying tears of joy on the way to the car at 11:30! That's right...we did it all in under an hour! I highly recommend David's Bridal in Sugarland...it isn't just for brides. Their selection of dresses was pretty good. I suppose they are reasonably priced for bridesmaids dresses, although I think paying $200 for a dress is a little silly. I am very happy with the dress I selected and the quality. The salesladies were very nice. No big issues. The only slight problem was that we paid to have the dress shipped to my house in AZ. Then I got an email from them saying the dress had been shipped to the store in Sugar Land and that I could pick it up. I called to clear up the problem, and they said that email automatically goes out any time a dress is shipped, because the dress goes to the store first and then the final destination. Well, that seems pretty dumb to me and causes a lot of confusion... they should fix that in their system. read more

I am so happy I went to this particular store! I was running a few minutes late and called and they assured me it was no problem at all. I was greeted with big smiles as soon as I walked in the door. My stylist was all ready for me and my niece...Her name is Khadijah and she was just phenomenal!!! I showed her the dresses I had saved from online and she went right to get them, got us chairs and dressing rooms ready. She was right on the spot when she picked the sizes for my ballgown slip and torsolette. I tried on 3 dress, the second one was my first pick online and the third was my back up. The back up was a mermaid style and I was worried it wouldn't compliment my figure but it fit amazing then it was more amazing after she pinned it back to show me how it would frame my body after alterations. I literally cried! She was so fantastic in knowing what look I was aiming for. She picked my veil and belt for my dress as well...They were absolutely perfect! I knew it was "The Dress"! Even though I slept on it, I called right back thr next day and purchased. I have bridesmaids in 3 different states and she made sure to save all of the info from everything we picked out so all we had to do was call back and order. I made it super convenient for them to just call and give her their sizes. I truly appreciate her and even the store manager passed by and stopped to compliment the dress and listen to my love story from how we met til the day we got engaged. My wedding is only 3 months away and she made sure to let me know timelines for when I would need my last fitting to get any alterations done in time for my big day.Superior customer service! I was very skeptical to visit this store after reading reviews, but they proved the bad reviews wrong. My story is a bit different from most. I am in a wedding next weekend, and ordered my dress online months ago. I was living in Canada at the time and my dress was delivered while I was there. I tried the dress on and ordered the appropriate size, but when I tried it on this week (aka way too late!) it was WAY too small...and I had even lost weight since I purchased it. I showed up without an appointment this afternoon hoping I could exchange for a dress in the store or have on overnighted to me. Because I ordered the dress on the website, I was told that I couldn't exchange it and would instead have to pay $160 for another dress. Ouch. Marissa was my consultant and she was so wonderful! I know she was busy helping a bride, she spent plenty of time helping me out and helping me zip in and out of the dresses. We found the same dress I needed and even in the right color! I was so excited but still upset that I couldn't exchange the dress that I bought from the same company. On the way to the register, we run into Darlene and I explained the situation to hr. She got on the phone, and a few minutes later I found out she was going to do an even exchange! I seriously cried happy tears. Marissa and Darlene went above and beyond the call of duty.
