After 8 years with this location through several changes of ownership we are done. Last visit my dog was cut and had a bleeding spot that took weeks to get back to normal. I know accidents happen and I got over it. Today my dog was dropped off at 7:30am with an appointment and he still wasn't done at 6pm. Marty apologized and said she was the only one working, but I never would have left my dog for 11 hours had I known this was how he would be treated. He was the 2nd dog in the door this morning and he should have been finished well before. A glance to the back shows half consumed beverages all over and dog fur from many different colored dogs all over the tables and floor. As if going the day with minimal bathroom breaks and no water (she blamed him for not drinking- my guess is that the water was dirty) wasn't bad enough, our little dog still smells disgusting. Like no shampoo was used or he sat in a dirty kennel all day and picked up a nasty scent. Just not acceptable. For $75 a groom, we will go elsewhere. As it is, I need to find a place tomorrow to bathe him as he reeks. read more

I have used The Grooming Place for years and though they keep your pet for hours I have never experienced this! Abuse! My miniature schnauzer came home with bruises and cuts and scraps. Juneau is a very living and docile fur baby. I bathe and blow dry him every Friday, so he is use to the grooming aspects. Someone should have said something about an issue! I even went back into the facility to purchase a leash after I put Juneau in his car seat. (My husband was in the car) and still the groomer said nothing! read more

AWFUL!!! When I first walked in the woman at the front desk was immediately rude and very short. I dropped them off at 7:30am and didn't get them until 2 pm. Then when they were picked up they did not say anything about the cuts on both of my dogs. One which is gushing blood. I then called to ask them about the issue and they became very defensive. They not once said I'm sorry they were blaming issues on things like "she wasn't bleeding when she was here" and "it's not a gash it's just a red mark" the manager proceeded to then say "f**k you" and hang up. When I called back the groomer that was responsible for the cuts never once said sorry and was very rude and said "since it doesn't sound like you're coming back i'm not wasting my time arguing" and then hung up all of this for an overpriced groom. we took our puppy clover in for grooming today. he was so overgrown and matted and just a total mess. the new owners greeted us warmly and introduced us to the person that would actually be doing the grooming. she was so sweet and kind towards us. the place looks like it's had a facelift. we dropped him off around 830 and we was ready at noon. he looks beautiful now and we are so pleased. best of all is all the Trump propaganda and anti vaccine information is gone. read more

This place is the hood of dog grooming. The groomers were angry, rude and down right abusive! I am still reeling after picking up my dog. Their were three people Yelling at me in the lobby because I was fifteen minutes early and had the audacity to ask if my dog was finished. I was astonished. I walked outside and waited and 2 minutes later they called me on the phone and told me my dog was done. When they brought my dog out, they actually said mean things about my dog, while the guy yelled at me from the register. I am still in shock at what just happened!! It seems like it is constantly under renovation and pretty quirky. But who cares. They do a great job with my old girl dog. I always have her shaved and this can be a butchering if you don't know what you are doing. No issues at The Grooming Place. My dog always comes out looking first class. Friendly folks. Quality work. I brought my dog here today. Being a Saturday, I really appreciated them being able to do that. I had to wait a little extra, but with it being a weekend I didn't mind it. The problem came when I was waiting for my dog. The female groomer became upset because a dog urinated on the floor. Next thing you know she starts yelling at the dog. She yells "what's wrong with you?" Grabs the dogs leash and is still voicing her disgust at the dog while taking him to the back room. There was a woman and her daughter who were waiting for their dog. When we saw and heard what was going on. The woman said to me "looks like we're not coming back here", I told her I feel the same way. I just can't take a chance on maybe that being my dog, she was yelling at. Dogs pee. read more

I've been taking my dogs here for a few years and the groomers always do a great job! I've compared groomers all over town and this place is by far the most reasonably priced. And the groomers have been employed there for a long time, so there's not a lot of " new" groomers or " groomers in training "- as for the negative comments on here about the "rude" employees, the staff is busy, busy, busy-so they don't have time to cheerlead or chitchat. I love how people can rate a place 1 star after being 3 f'ing hours late for their appointment. You know who you are. I have actually been meaning to review this place. We love working with the shorter girl, jewel believe. Not entirely sure but our dog loves going here and that's what matters. When we come to pick her up she always has the zoomies and is ready to play and the girls seem to be very nice overall. I'm not sure how one of them would react if I showed up 3 hours late but honestly I would be p!ssed if someone showed up 3 hours late. Some people never fail to amaze me. read more

Good grooming but crappy facility. Dumb staff (like painfully dumb, but I don't think they are trying to be...some people can't help these things, so we should not be mad at them, we should feel sorry for them). The staff is very NICE and friendly though, so I think that helps offset some of their intellectual lackings. The prices are outrageous though, and I feel they just make up a new number every time you come in, based on what you look like or the car you drive up in. Do not buy toys, treats, ect there...highway robbery on that. The Grooming Place gets the job done, the dogs look nice, and they are a small shop with parking right out front, so its easy to get in, drop your dog off/pick up and get on your way without having to park and walk into Petco or Petsmart, ect. Most of the time, my mom just leaves her car running outside, dashes in and dashes out. But god forbid there be another customer in front of you that is chatty (or for you, god forbid my MOM be in front of you) because they are a chatty bunch at this store, and you might end up standing around huffing and puffing thinking "hey shut the heck up and go get my dog, and then you can finish your conversation!" I find that frustrating, rude, and a horrible business practice. You're making one customer feel valued at the expense of infuriated in the other? You'd be better off doing nothing and leaving us both feeling average. read more

I've been using this groomer for years and have always been very happy. However, the last couple visits have been terrible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time knowing they were training new groomers, but the second time - they took a huge hunk of skin out of my dog's neck and blamed me for not regularly brushing. Satisfaction guaranteed is a joke, we tried to get our money back and they claimed it was a "hot spot" but our vet said differently. We have been searching for a groomer since we moved to Flower Mound and had trouble finding anyone to match the quality and skill of our former groomer. The search is finally over. My Coton de Tulear looks fabulous. TheGrooming Place did an amazing job with his cut and his fur looks like angel hair. The cologne they used smells great and he loves his Halloween bandana. I have been bringing my dogs to The Grooming Place for years. They have always done a great job and I can usually get an appointment the next day. I took my cockapoo to a "closer" groomer (in a vet's office) three times, but each time I was very disappointed. The cut was uneven or not what I asked for and he was never sufficiently "blown out." It was like they rushed it every time. When I voiced my concerns with the owner, they basically said "sorry, she's our only groomer and everyone else seems satisfied." Hmph. So I gladly drive the extra distance to The Grooming Place to ensure great results every time! It's well worth it to have such a well groomed dog! read more

Really happy with the job Cailee did on my Yorkie-Poo and Cocker-Poo. These dogs think they are labs and were a complete mess. The staff was very accommodating to my schedule and did a great job. The dogs seemed happy when I picked them up, not the nervous shake they have at the vet or other groomers. Happy and wagging.. I could tell they had been played with and treated carefully.. Sullivan, my 85 lb Labradoodle, went in a little nervous to be separated from his family, with a body full of 3-4 inch wavy wild hair. He came out, shaved SO smoothly, head to toe, nose to tail, and just as relaxed and happy as can be! They did a beautiful job with him, the place was quiet and calm, she asked a lot of questions and gave a detailed report of what she found during his shave. We will absolutely make this his hair salon going forward, and he'll be back in a few months! read more

We have been taking our little Maltese/Shih-Tzu mix there forever one year. She is a high energy handful and looks nice when we get her back. Bob and Tyler are fantastic! How I wish they still were at the "Pet Spa" location on FM 407 in Lewisville! Their better than 5 star service and attitude is the only reason I give this place 2 stars and continue to be a patron. The owner of this place needs a serious lesson in Customer Service. She speaks to customers as if they are morons (when the reverse is likely to be more accurate). At one time, she sauntered from the back of the facility after she overheard a conversation where I inquired about which days they would be closed during the Holiday Season. She came out and proceeded to lecture me about "weird scheduling days" and insinuated that my request was a tremendous problem, all because I wanted to know when the facility would be open and when it would be closed. Absolutely unbelievable! She needs to stay in the back and let other employees handle customer service. If you can deal with an owner who took Customer Service Classes from an old curmudgeon, a quirky/run-down facility, and playing dodge ball in the parking lot with various children and adults who attend a religious center beside the facility who refuse to move out of the way, then this place will meet your needs well. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my dog here and he had to stay here for 8 hours straight, which is ridiculous, however that is not the reason I am furious. After picking my dog up, I see that my dog is limping and looks terrified and I ask, "what is wrong with him?" One of the girls at the front says, "oh his leg is probably just asleep.." UMM I think NOT. She continues, "he was hunkered down in a small cage for a while, so that is probably why" Why is he "hunkered" down in a small cage for 8 hours when he is a 90 pound dog?! Just getting my dog to the car was a nightmare. He was almost completely immobile, which was heartbreaking to see and I had NO idea what they did and why he was so incapable of walking! The first night was horrendous. He could barely make it outside to go to the bathroom because he was in so much pain. Now it has been several days and he is STILL limping. I noticed that one of his nails is a good half inch or more shorter than all the rest! I don't understand how you could make that big of a mistake when clipping nails. I assume that is why he is limping, but I am not certain. The workers here blatantly lied to my face, knowing full well what had really happened. As a dog owner and paying customer (prices are NOT cheap), it is my RIGHT to know what happens to my dog and they failed to tell me anything in regards to the events that took place that day. read more

Ridiculously bad service. I didn't even bring my dog in because they wanted to keep him for NINE hours. It does not take nine hours to bathe and brush one dog, but no matter what I said they would not let him have a specific appointment or a shorter time frame. After reading the reviews they may be dated. My dog got out with careless yard service and returned with 500+ burrs. They gave him a great groom and let me know that his underbelly was broken out and keep an eye on it. When I called they took him right away, other groomers told me to wait a week. I think you should give this place a try because they truly care about pets and handled services in a timely manor. read more
