Great to work with pros who really know their business. Had a thermastatic cartridge in my shower that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately neither the cartridge nor anything else in the system had a brand name on it. Brought it in to 3 plumbing supply shops. Two had no idea what to use to replace it and the third guessed but was not sure (and turned out to be wrong). Luckily, I found Dan at Davie Plumbing. I sent him photos of the cartridge, and with just the photos, he found the correct replacement. So I went to downtown Miami to get something from the Jewelry wholesalers, but when I returned home I felt like I was at the beach just entering the ocean. There was water everywhere, it hit me like a sledgehammer but within a few minutes, I regained my composure and realized I had a burst pipe. Once I found the burst pipe I immediately turned off the water from the main valve. I learned when my central AC went out, don't go to Home Depot first lol. Go to the commercial suppliers, they have parts and knowledge you'll never find at Home Depot or Lowes, so I trekked to Davie Plumbing up the street. Unfortunately, the dude working there Dano couldn't locate the repair parts I needed for my issue because the pipes are polyethylene which has been illegal to use in construction in the county since the early 90's I believe. So not many suppliers carry parts or repair items for that particular pipe. So dude told me to go to Home Depot, and said they definitely had the parts. He not only explained to me how to repair the pipe, but he also drew out a schematic of the parts I needed and how to put it together. I went to the Home Depot which oddly is in the same plaza and found the parts with absolutely no help what so ever from the DeVry grads that work there. I actually asked the front desk to send someone to plumbing, and when they arrived I asked the individual the questions and they said, " I don't know". Now this is the person who works in the plumbing section and they're clueless. Just to double-check that I bought the correct items I went back to Davie Plumbing. The Dude validated I bought the correct items, but he also explained in more detail how to fix my pipe with the items I bought. When I arrived home it took me about 15 minutes to fix my pipe, which saved me a few hundred bucks, and probably more since it would have been an after-hours plumbing call. Excellent local plumbing supply store that has hard to find plumbing parts. I purchased a Kohler toilet at Home Depot and the flush valve kit rod broke, I went to Home Depot and of course they don't have it, I'm actually happy they didn't because I'd prefer to give my cash to the local small business owner. I went to Davie plumbing and supply and BINGO! They had the part and Dan provided great service and even went online to cross reference part for me. I paid cash and got a discount! They also do install and repairs if needed, I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs misc. plumbing parts that are custom or hard to find. I have used this firm for many years as they have the hard to find parts that Home Depot and Lowes never stock. So when we decided to replace our kitchen faucet I and a couple of other small jobs I went to them. The work was 90% satisfactory although pricey. Unfortunately the plumber they sent, who was somewhat surly, cross connected the expensive faucet hot and cold. When I called to ask them to correct this he told us that this was correct ! He wanted to charge us another expensive call out to fix it. I got a local handy man to look and he says it's a small matter of uncrossing the connectors. I would not use them for in house repairs again although they may still be useful for hard to find parts. read more

Dan was very professional and went above and beyond to try to fix the leak in the bathtub which was a little tricky since the part was rusted. Since he had to order a cartridge it did take a little extra time to get it resolved but he was able to do the job and keep us informed along the way. Home depot was surly and vague. Lowes guy had no idea what I was attempting to do (install a disposal). Davie Plumbing and Supply replaced my garbage disposer. I purchased the disposer myself on-line, then called for the installation. I was given an afternoon appointment, then he called and asked if it was OK to come early (how often does that happen, they are usually very late!). It was a different brand from the old one so none of the connections matched and some extra work had to be done for the electrical connection, too. Despite the differences, he took his time to do it properly and installed it for the quoted price although it took much more time than expected. He cleanup up as he went along, and when he was finished you wouldn't know that the messy job had been done. I can't tell you how impressed and pleased I am with the work. I highly recommend him for any plumbing job you might have. read more
