Chris came on a little drive with me that morning, and was so kind and informative! I mentioned my dad's thoughts on the heat shield and he said definitely not. He said it actually sounded like the timing chain scraping, which can happen if low on oil. When we pulled back in for me to drop him off, he checked my oil level and low and behold... almost empty (even though my oil light never turned on and I wasn't due for an oil change for another month). I learned all Kia's tend to burn oil; FYI to my fellow Kia owners. He gave me 2 quarts of oil and my car is great now! Noise gone and learned something to look out for. I had taken out and had it tested and the auto parts place had told me I needed a new alternator. I had Pheonix come and get it. They were quick and responsive and all I needed was a new battery that ended up costing me 782 dollars after towing and the 149 dollar diagnostic. I would use them again for any MAJOR issue, but I'll never return for anything I even suspect is a minor repair. Nearly a thousand bucks for a battery seems excessive.
