Friendly word of advice... shop around and check their pricing against other shops. We were quoted an astounding *$3,200+* to replace a leaking water pump. We shopped around and found someone else to do it for $600. Not only that, but it was simply a hose leaking and it ended up being even less expensive! I have little faith that this company would have charged us much less to replace a hose once they got in there and diagnosed. Prior to this we've taken our cars here for basic service (extra star for that!) but I do feel this quote was egregious and left a bad taste in our mouth - which lead us to find a new auto shop all together. UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: The condenser on my A/C had a leak and needed replacing. If this shop had bothered taking 10 minutes to look under the hood, it would have been easily seen. They sold my son a truck that the harmonic balancer was bolted on with lug nuts. Someone had tried to weld the crank on also. We have texts from the owner saying that they will pay for parts and labor. They paid the harmonic balancer and are refusing to pay for the batteries. One of them blew up all over my son and the other one had a sticker on it saying that it was no good and won't charge. They won't even pay the down payment back. He returned the truck and they said that they would resend the loan. It's been over a week and the credit company still hasn't heard from them. If you look up BBB, this isn't the first one they have done this to. They also have lawsuits pending against them. My son got to drive it for half a day before anything came to the surface. They are even going to take it the auction. When my son took the truck back, it drove onto the lot and they are trying to tell us that it didn't. We had friends go with him and the guy there that looks like he is missing an eye, actually threatened to punch my son in the throat. But he didn't say it to him, he said it to his friends. They also had him sign a paper that said he would not post negative comments about them. The paper was just something typed up and not legal/ notorized. He don't even do social media. We now have a lawyer involved. read more

Warning to those having older cars, the guys at CS Auto may not have the expertise or desire to work on them. They seem to like the easy, follow the 1-2-3 steps in a manufacturer manual on newer models. Toyota Prius was original in for excess oil consumption and after getting a tune-up and engine clean, multiple new problems appeared (electrical and engine misfiring). Took it back in under their "Just bring it back" 3-yr warranty, but... * Charged for lose 12V battery terminal diagnostic and fix. A problem they caused by not tightening the connection after the tune-up. Source of electrical issues. * Charged for information withheld from original tune-up service. During the original engine clean, cleaner leaked into one of the cylinders, but that was not revealed until more money was paid. Likely source of the engine misfiring that was not fixed. When it was revealed that there was trouble with their work, they went into cover-up mode, warranty denial, and to get as much money out of the customer as possible. Their self-righteous, dismissive, and insulting attitude clearly showed they value money over reputation. Again, go somewhere else if you have an older vehicle. And learn from my expensive lesson: standard mechanic work practices disconnect the 12V battery. No one should be charged for connecting it correctly. read more

The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and helpful and Levi, our service technician did an excellent job, even letting us know that there was a nail in one of my tires. A bunch of criminals. They essentially tried to extort me out of $3,500. Long story short, I was given a quote of $3,500 to fix an issue that should have cost around $300 to $400. Earlier in the week I had gone to Firestone Automotive and they informed me that I had a minor issue that would needed to be fixed by a mechanic. So, seeing CS Automotive nearby, and having driven by the place many times on my way to work, I decided to go there after reviewing their website and reading the hundreds of "too good to be true" perfect 5 star reviews on their website and elsewhere (Yelp, etc). Well, rather than focusing on the issue that Firestone Automotive told me I need to get fixed, CS Automotive listed dozens of issues with my car that they said "urgently" need to be fixed. In fact, they led me to believe that it would not be safe to drive the vehicle until the needed repairs would be made. As you can imagine, I was in shock because of two things. 1: I was shocked by the quote of $3,500 2: I was shocked that my car was in such bad shape considering that my vehicle had recently undergone a total maintenance overhaul a few months earlier by the Jeep dealership. And I want to reiterate this....when I asked about the seriousness of the problems of my car during my first phone call after receiving the quote from CS Automotive...I was led to believe that my car was in truly bad shape and not safe to drive. I almost told them to go ahead and start working on things at once so that I would have a safe car to drive. As you can imagine, I didn't want my loved ones or family members to be riding in a car that could kill them. This was they type of fear I was led to believe would be possible if my car was not fixed. Well, after speaking with some work colleagues at work, the general consensus was that everything just sounded a bit too unbelievable and that I should sleep on things before allowing work to begin on my car. And so I did sleep on things. The next day, I took my vehicle to two other local mechanics and both reviewed the $3,500 quote I was given by CS Automotive. Both of the mechanics agreed that CS Automotive was acting in a highly suspect and unethical way. They also both agreed that my car did NOT need the $3,500 in work that I was quoted. Further, both of the two other local mechanics made it very clear that my car was PERFECTLY SAFE and had zero urgent matters that needed to be fixed. Ultimately, I did have one of these mechanics fix the minor issue that Firestone Automotive stated that I needed fixed...and...the total cost to get the minor issue fixed came to $322...taxes included. I literally cannot believe that CS Automotive could be so unethical and try to rob me blind in the way that they did. In person, they seemed very nice, very professional, and totally honest. And their Auto Shop is incredible....it looks world class. Their waiting area is amazing. And their website is 100% professional looking. But, as they say, the best thieves are the ones you never see coming...as they don't appear to be thieves. I would never in a million years recommend these crooks to a friend, family member, or co-worker. The only time you should ever consider going to this company is if you Auto Insurance company is paying for your repairs. But even then, I don't think it would be ethical to have your Auto Insurance company get over billed, as that is simply not the right thing to do. read more

Scam! I completely agree with Todd P's review. How does this place have a 5-star rating? This was my experience at CS Automotive on January 3rd...Took my Lexus in for a diagnoses/repair estimate of my air ride suspension system, because my regular mechanic could not do this repair. Waited 7 hours for a response, then was emailed an (unsolicited) list of dire repairs needed at a cost of $6000. This list of repairs did not include the air ride suspension that I originally asked to be checked and the entire reason my truck was there. I immediately called and spoke to Jeff and asked about the air ride suspension repair? He suggested my truck threw a code for an air bag sensor in the driver's seat that was affecting my air ride suspension. At first I thought he was kidding, but oh no, he was very serious! I told him to do the repair, but felt something was wrong. I went online and found the code he gave me on a TSB bulletin. Just as I thought, this code had nothing to do with air ride suspension, instead it was a code for the driver's side air bag! Called him the next morning and told him we were not on the same page and to please have his tech check my air ride, not the air bag. A few hours later they found that issue too. Needless to say, I was done! I paid the $120 diagnostic fee and was on my way. The next day, I took the list of repairs to my regular mechanic, who laughed at the repair list and reminded me he had done two of the repairs on the list within the past year. Again, I'd love to know how this place has a 5-star rating, after my awful experience. read more

These guys are great! I took my car in for brakes b/c they were beginning to squeak. After only a couple of hours, they called me and said my brakes were fine. They also gave a free inspection and offered a few recommendations. They found a broken motor mount that they were able to fix that day. They are not pushy about repairs, but offer recommendations. They come across as extremely honest, I didn't feel gouged with their prices and they were extremely friendly in person and on the phone. It is so hard to find an auto repair place that you can trust and feel comfortable with. I read great reviews on CS Automotive and decided to try them out and have not been disappointed. My first trip in they found the issue I was having with my air conditioning and could have charged me a lot of money to repair it, but then thought to ask if I had been in an accident that affected the radiator and air conditioning system - I had and the repairs I needed were covered under warranty from the other shop. I was so impressed with their honesty and thoughtfulness to turn away work to save me money. Recently I had the opportunity to use them again and they were great - getting my alternator replaced in a few hours on a Friday when I had an unexpected breakdown the day before I really needed my vehicle to move. I hope that I don't need them too often but I definitely trust CS Automotive with my vehicle when issues come up! read more

SCAM!! They ripped me off!!!! My car was diagnosed with broken AC clutch and coil by the dealership, I wanted to change the AC compressor with clutch and coil as I know it is always better to change the compressor too. I spoke to Lorri and requested a quote to replace the entire compressor which includes clutch and coil over the phone. I clearly mentioned that I need to replace entire compressor set and also asked what brand they will use for compressor, she kept telling it will be Honda. I know Honda dont manufacture compressor and honda uses denso compressors as OEM. She never gave a clear answer on that and kept telling it will be genunie Honda part. She gave a quote similiar to the quote I received from other shops, I went here because of the 5 start rating they had and the 3 year warranty that comes with service. I left my car and got a call that after inspection they found the compressor also need to be replaced!! I dropped the car asking them to replace the compressor and they are calling me now asking to replace compressor !!! Lorri called me back and told me that the quote she gave over phone was only for clutch & coil replacement and not for the compressor. By now they already removed the parts and I have to pay for putting them back. Now the quote to replace the compressor is 600$ more than the quote I received from other shops but i cannot take the car out because they already removed the parts. For this quote I would have not even come to this place in first place. By this time I also got a call from Honda that eventhough my car is out of warranty, they can consider a courtesy warranty. I asked Lorri how much it will cost just to put the old part and give to me, i was given a quote of 1300$ !!! Now I am kind of locked with them and I have to pay what they are quoting. My biggest concern is they never accepted their fault of giving incorrect quote to me. Also they missed to send me a confirmation email for the phone quote which they agreed. Due to Lorri's mistake I ended up losing lot of money and peace of mind. I felt like they gave the wrong quote and made me fall for the trap. Regarding techical work- Dont have any complaint here. The inspection report was great with clear information. My car A/c works fine now. read more

I never take my Toyota anywhere else. I did some research when I moved here to find the best service shop for Toyota. The dealership in cool springs has a terrible service department so that wasn't an option. But that's ok because it made me seek out this place. I recently had my timing cover replaced. They needed to keep my car overnight because the part was delayed getting to their shop, but my car was returned to me washed and thoroughly vacuumed--as good as a complimentary full-service car wash. Great customer service and staff here! I went in for an oil change and a full check of my car (haven't had anything done in over a year). They did a full inspection and offered me a list of suggestions. When I asked them to tell me what item were priority and what could wait, they were able to give me options with good explanations. I ended up getting all the repairs and the estimate was reasonably priced. They also have a great waiting area where I was able to wait for my pick up ride. My 2006 Honda Pilot was ready for a new timing belt so I contacted CS Automative for a quote. Obviously a lot cheaper than the dealership but the thing that struck me was the customer service. Honda just tell you over the phone any additional work they deem necessary. CS sent me details along with a document showing the cost and why it was recommended. When I picked up the Pilot the friendliness of the establishment was superb. As soon as I walked in they handed me the papers which means they recognized me and valued my custom. Where else did I find this wonderful repair shop but from good ol' Yelp! I have fallen behind on the maintenance schedule of my car and so I searched on Yelp for a non-dealer repair shop, from the time I made the appointment to the time I walked into the shop I had such a positive experience even without me mentioning it, the mechanic did a thorough inspection on my car and in every finding (of issues) they quickly communicated it to me with the associated cost. The plus factor is the nice waiting area which looks like a Starbucks that I was able to do some work while waiting for my car. I appreciated the fact that I knew beforehand what my total bill would be before they even finished the work on my car in comparison perhaps to the local dealer which many times I almost fainted from shock after I receiving my bill. Over a week, I contacted 5x Nashville area Toyota service locations, both dealerships and independents. I asked each to confirm availability of a particular routine service and get an estimate. For some of these "shops", I tried 3 or 4 times, but CS was the ONLY one to respond (and on the same day, after the first contact). The work was drama-free and met my needs at the price as estimated. Could not find a more efficient, courteous and trustworthy auto shop. Took my 2012 Infiniti G37 in for the 60K mile service. CS texted/emailed results of mechanic's initial review of car. Then emailed invoice for my review and approval. As I'd had oil changed and a few other minor things completed prior, they subtracted cost from invoice. Cleaned fuel injection as car was hesitating and it runs like a charm. Cost was half of what the dealer would charge. Very professional staff and waiting room. Kim, the owner and Jan and Laurie were wonderful. Women going into auto repair or service shops are many times taken advantage of since in many cases we aren't familiar with cars....definitely NOT the case here...can't say enough great things about them and HIGHLY recommend! read more
