Davis Bros is the kind of place that you either love it or you hate it. I love it. I grew up eating Davis Bros. My whole family loves this place. Whenever we are back in Peoria we always eat at East Peoria Davis Bros. The pizza is very thin and crispy. It has yellow and white cheese. It has a ground sausage. It doesn't have a lot of sauce. I love it exactly this way. It is not greasy. There was one waitress on a Tuesday night and she did a great job serving all the tables. We were there at 530. Review Visit: February 23rd, 2014 The beginning of a long day full of unexpected traveling. Davis Bros is one of those local places that everyone seems to love but one I had never tried until 2014. That is until a bunch of us had a work meeting and then decided to get food afterwards. That lead us to going to Davis Bros pizza based on Eli's suggestion. We rolled up in the late afternoon to an empty restaurant. As seems to be my luck, we always seem to get to places that are in a lull between meals. The three of us grabbed a booth and got to looking over the menu. If memory serves me right, I told Matt and Eli to order whatever they wanted and I will go along with it as I was new to this place and sometimes I just like to take a backseat to things instead of always being in charge. What Eli and Matt ordered, I don't recall except the sausage on it was not sausage I like. I will be the first to claim ignorance on pizza toppings despite being a pizza lover. When it comes to sausage, there is the good kind that I like and the bad kind that I don't like. The one I don't like is the one that resembles ground hamburger. For whatever reason that I can't explain, I am not a fan of it but alas, that is what came on our pizza. Aside from the pizza being littered with those faux pas sausage chunks, it was a decent pizza. Not one that I would drool over if someone mentioned "Davis Bros" in my presence. I don't mean that to sound too harsh as I am willing to give them another try, just without sausage on the next one. (And yes, after writing this post I did Google the difference between pizza sausages to avoid that mistake in the future.) What I do like is that this place lead to a long and entertaining night with Eli and Matt up in the Quad Cities. What exactly happened up there in the Isle of Capri Casino is a story for another day. I will say it ended with Eli being 56'd by Security and us driving home at like 2am. If you know that code 56 is, then you can guess what happened. P.S. - Davis Bros. does sell frozen pizzas in the local markets around this area. Maybe that's what people rave about. So, if you can't make it to the restaurant, you can always pick up a frozen one to try at home. read more

Spoke to the owner today regarding a pizza that was made incorrectly. I have someone who is allergic to onions and onions were placed on the pizza. The owner was not cooperative, seemed unconcerned about the situation. Offered to remake the pizza, but we had already used our free DoorDash offer.. She had no way to correct this situation and it's clearly unable to think outside the box. Will never order from here again and we'll make known on Facebook. I called ahead and ordered 6 pizzas and told them we would be there 6-630pm. They were served and hot right on time. The place was clean and staff was very attentive. Went to this establishment on 6/22/24. Food was good, however, I will not be back. I left a tip on the table and went up and paid with card when leaving. The next day I found that they had charged me another $5...apparently they thought they deserved this. I called and they said they closed out ticket at the end of the night. Ordered a plain cheese x-tra well done pizza. And went to old school tavern style thin crust pizza heaven. This will be a must go for me when visiting Peoria. Went for lunch today with family! Worst Davis Bros pizzza I have had. We grew up on Davis Bros Pizza for over 65+ years and that was not a Davis Bros original! It looked good, a lot of cheese but the purpose of the cheese was the fact you couldn't find the sausage! We had 3 pizzas and they were all the same. You lift up the cheese and you might see what there was of the sausage. The pepper flakes were bigger than the sausage bits. Pay close to $22 for a Supreme you expect more than cheese! We were going to have the lunch buffet but all those pizzas looked like they had been there awhile looked very dried up already. I understand prices have gone up but quality should still be there for those prices. Driftwood in CC is more like The original Davis Bros than what EP is putting out. Love the pizza but tonight's service was not good. We did an online order and said it would take 20 mins to make. We got there after about 15 mins and checked in and they said it would be a little bit longer which was perfectly fine but not another 30 mins of waiting. We ended up waiting a little bit over 30 mins inside and was never offered a drink or anything for them not having our order ready in a decent amount of time. Overall was almost 50 mins since the order was placed to when it was ready and they were not busy either. Another women came in after us and they told her they didn't get her order so it wasn't ready and then refunded her since she didn't want to wait. Great old school Central Illinois pizza, thin crust cut in thin strips. My guest and I started with the salad bar, and since it was Friday night it was buy one get one for free. Absolutely the best pizza hands down. Not the typical pizza most expect. Completely covered in flavorful mild pork sausage (not greasy at all), diced onions and green peppers, with cheese slices, and the crust is light and super crispy. Personally, I like the pizza. I still can't give the restaurant a very high rating. Let me explain the pros and cons of Davis bros pizza. PROS: PIZZA As I said, I really like the pizza. It is a St. Louis style crust, very thin. There are a lot of toppings on the pizza, not a lot of sauce and it's cut into small thin strips. They do not use a lot of cheese. This kind of pizza can be dry. That's why we always order extra cheese. SERVICE This restaurant is usually very busy. That may explain some of the comments about service. We always get pretty good service when we are here. The kitchen is a little slow. CONS: BUILDING This restaurant building is old, it's not kept up very well. In fact, the restrooms can be nasty. I like the pizza so I don't want to see the kitchen. LOL COST. The pizza is expensive. They do have a daily special and they are OK at best. SALAD BAR. Nope. We went in Sunday evening around 6 pm. Sat for 10 to 15 minutes then waitress came and told us we could stay if we wanted to but the cooks were about ready to walk out. We never got a drink or anything so we left. A lady and her daughter who came in behind us also left. There was a table of 6 who had drinks who got up and left. Worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. Ordered our pizza at 6:13, started inquiring as to the status of our order at 6:45, waitress was told by kitchen staff "it was in the oven" and she was very apologetic. We needed to be at a HS football game by 7:30. It was a Friday night. We decided to wait some more since it was in the oven. Waitress checked again at 7pm, told " it was still in the oven". At 7:25 our waitress came out and sheepishly told us that it turns out there was no pizza. By then over a dozen people had come in after us, eaten, and left. My wife hadn't eaten lunch, my daughter and granddaughter were with us as well. The waitress didn't change us for the drinks. I personally went back and loudly "thanked" the kitchen staff for screwing up our order and lying about it being in the oven. They just avoided my gaze. So we went to the game and got a sandwich there. Can't understand the poor service. I don't believe there was a manager on duty. Love this spot! If you've ever eaten at Larry's Driftwood in Creve Coeur this recipe is the same or very nearly the same. Cracker thin super crisp crust, crumbly sausage, just the right amount of cheese (although upon sight, it LOOKS like not nearly enough cheese-the sauce still shows throughout, but somehow it works). I have always had great service. Seems like a bit of a "hole in the wall" but I love this place. read more

Cheryl, you need to retrain your employees. My family was in the east peoria location Friday night 6pm 5-15-2015. We sat at a table for over 20 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. During this time, we observed 5 wait staff. 2 were to busy talking and texting by the bar, one was running around doing her job, the others who knows. We walked out. Then I called to speak to you. It seems the staff does an excellent job of shielding you than they do taking care of customers. Long story short, we went to the driftwood, found a better product and a staff willing to take our order in a few minutes. They were of course busier than you and I can see why. I remember when I was younger that Davis Bros Pizza was one of those local places everyone enjoyed. I recall going there a few times as a kid. After trying it out as an adult I do not see what the hype is about. There are people I know who swear by this pizza. The pizza reminds me of low budge Monical's pizza. The flavor is not that great. If you like thin crust then you'll find they have mastered that. The pizzas are expensive in relation to the size as well. The last few times I've been here, I have asked myself why I put myself through it. I swear some times I get temporary amnesia when it comes to restaurants. Once I start eating the food, it hits me like a ton of bricks. Ooooooooh, that's why I don't come here. I think I learned my lesson and will be skipping out from this point forward. Whenever I am back in East Peoria I have to eat at Davis Bros Pizza. It is so good, I even took 3 home with me to Arizona

I love Davis Brothers pizza and always visit there when I am in the Peoria area. The pizza crust is very thin and they add a mixture of cheese to the pizza. The pizza is sliced into tiny little squares and the outer edge pieces are the most delicious. I would give this place 5 stars, but the pizza is a little pricey for the area. That being said, I already am planning my to visit here when I am home for Christmas vacation. read more
