After having a decent experience with Davis Plumbing, I thought I would give their HVAC company a try when I needed some service. Long story short, I got a very large bill for a minor service. I got service on the same day I called, and the part that was needed was replaced, so I'll let them slide with two stars. However, I can't see myself using this company in the future due to the extremely high pricing. read more

Exorbitant pricing ... They charged $480 to replace an AC capacitor. $101 for service plus $429 for repair, then give a $50 coupon. I had no choice but to get the work done. This is a rip-off. Would never call them again. stay away. read more

Even though the company does not handle the type of work I needed done, they had Ralph come out to check on my situation - a war zone scenario involving plumbing, air ducts, a foundation gap, snd a partially dug-up slab. THIS IS ONE OF THE BAD CONTRACTORS! STAY AWAY!!!! I am a builder and have used John as my go to HVAC contractor for several years. In the beginning, he was responsive with fair prices and knowledgeable mechanics (trade talk for guys who do the work). About 2 years ago, I noticed that the usual mechanics were no longer coming to my job site, and neither was John. The quality of work fell off considerably and I had to constantly review what was done for correctness and completeness. When I conforented John about the defects and deficiencies, he would make excuses and always blame other contractors for his shoddy work. I felt like I was his foreman on the job site, making sure that his people did what they were supposed to do and beg for corrections when I found defects. The final straw was placed on the camel's back when I had to threaten leagal action to get him to finish a project. He said he would finish if I paid him several thousand dollars in cash. I paid John in full in the spring, to find out now in November that the heating system does not work. I contacted John about the situation and told him that we have cold tenants. His contract, for which he was paid in full includes a warranty for 1 year Labor and 10 years parts. He refused to provide service or repair under warranty (everything is less than 6 months old!) because he no longer "likes me." read more

We needed a new heating and air unit (old one died). We purchased a new HVAC system and Air Filtration unit. I can't say enough about the air quality in the house. You can tell when you enter the house how fresh the air is. We got the extra air filtering system because I have bad allergies (pollen, grass and such) and my son is allergic to dogs and cats of which we have 3 and 1 respectively. There is a huge difference in the air quality in my house. I think it also helps that they cleaned all the ducts. The service representative were very nice and professional. Harry from Davis was awesome! He came out to work on our air conditioner and we found out he could work on our pool heater. Our pool heater to replace is around $4000 with installation and it quit working last year. I called to get Harry out for the pool heater after he fixed our AC. He came out that day, found the problem and it is still an expensive issue but only $610 fix compared to a $4000 replacement our pool guys said we would have to get. The said it wasn't fixable. Thank god I called around. We also paid for a plan to get them out on a yearly schedule for AC/heat checks in the spring/fall, they will do water heater maintenance, check the drains and pipes so we don't have issues, and a few more things. Super nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone read more

Had these guys out to my home twice to diagnose and repair my heating system. The first time the tech told me my heater was dirty and needed a service. The Heater actually ran worse after they serviced and I called them back again this time they told me after charging me twice of coarse that I needed either a new heater at the cost of 10,000.00 or remove the A coil which they said was clogged and causing my heater to over heat and shut off. To remove the A coil and replace the duct work would be 1,500.00. After about a week of using space heaters in the dead of winter to try to stay warm, and not really believing a word this company told me and after paying for Davis to come out twice and not resolve my issue. I decided to look into all possible problems that Davis told me was the issue. And low and behold what do I find the main wire harness to the mother board was not plugging in all the way. After pushing the wire harness connector in all the way until it clipped into place now my heater works perfectly. So either Davis has the worst technicians on earth or they purposely rigged my heater to appear that replacement was the only option. Either way don't allow Davis in your home. They are not trustworth. read more

How very considerate-above and beyond! Davis installed my central air unit 6 years ago, including new duct work upstairs. We absolutely love our dual thermostat system! John and his crew were fantastic. Very professional in all manners of the job. They developed a plan and executed it perfectly, even if it meant more time and work. They did not stand for mediocre just because the system was already set up for that. They had a team of professionals from load calc'ing the house, installers, to system ops personnel that ensured the best possible efficiency. John and team redesigned a downstairs duct work system and installed an entirely new unit. They also designed and placed in new AC Unit for upstairs in attic. I've been using Davis Heating & Air for my HVAC service needs for my business for over ten years. Also, they installed a new high efficiency AC System back in September 2012 for my home. Two words sum up my experience: "VERY PLEASED!" My experience with John Davis and his crew is that they're "stand-up guys", who were very polite and considerate in minimizing any mess and disruption to my home while installing my new AC system. I find these guys to be tuned to the concerns customers have when contractors are performing work in a home. It seems like other contractors lack such consideration, but not John's crew.
