I use the Base Exchange and commissary and find that not only do I save money. I save on tax as well. The 2 stores are always stocked. Both are easy to get around in. A good variety in many items at main store and different vendors to shop also located here is a pharmacy, barber shop, uniform store, nail salon, stuff I forgot to mention (sorry). A few selection of fast food places a Starbucks, Charlys philly steak, Popeyes etc.. Some of the pricing may not be fair even though no taxes so you must do your homework especially on big ticket items. But with that being said you can find some great deals. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms in Military Clothing section are a single each one women's and one men's but seem to be way cleaner than front entrance bathrooms. If any management from store reads this.. PLEASE CLEAN AND FIX BATHROOM DOORS AND SANITIZE THE AREA WELL INSTALL DEODORIZERS BUT MOSTLY SANITIZE AND DO THIS OFTEN IT IS VERY NEGLECTED THROUGHOUT DAY. read more

It's not the best but not the worst. You may be able to find good deals and save money on name brand or large items, but if it's toiletries or something it's kind of over priced. The staff isn't super helpful or super friendly but you get the service you need. The main restrooms are usually pretty dirty and smelly unfortunately. The food court is mediocre and gets you a quick bite if you need it. Some things are inconvenient like once I tried to call Starbucks ahead of time for a carton of coffee and was told they won't do that. I must go in and order and then wait 15-20 mins for it to brew which to me is unacceptable. read more

My first trip to the DM exchange. It was an unbelievable success. I found EVERYTHING I was looking for (running shoes, socks, belt, etc.) I also happened upon my favorite brand of golf tees which even Dick's Sporting Goods don't even carry. The best part of the visit was the Embroidery Shop, though. The shop only charged me $15 for a one-time digitization fee for a custom monogram (about $60 less than a rival shop in Sierra Vista) and the turn-around for a custom monogrammed polo is only 3 days! I will be making trips to DM often, in large part due to this small business within the Exchange. This place hit a home run, at least for me. read more

Yesterday a had my Dodge Ram detailed by a vendor in the Main Exchange parking lot. The on scene price quote was $150.00 as advertised by a near by sign. An appointment was made and to accommodate the vendor the appointment was rescheduled to an earlier time. Upon completion of the detail work I was presented with a $220.00 bill. The vendor said the increase was because of the size of the vehicle. The same vehicle he saw when he quoted a price of $150.00. This is very unprofessional especially on a military installation. I doubt this vendor ever served in the US military or ever learned the meaning of the word HONESTY and INTEGRATY. Remove this vendor, he is not one of us. Can we all have a big resounding....MEH! Where do I start when it comes to AAFES, do I detail how they remain 20-50% higher in price on many things in contrast to local businesses? Do I bemoan their new price match policy that basically eliminated any desire for me to buy things there more then necessary? How about when I do use their policy and they still refuse to match a price that meets their policy?? Look AAFES we know you don't charge tax and that most retiree's are not savvy price shoppers like myself so they leave thinking they got a great deal. But the reality is you fail at the fundamental services a retailer should provide. Quality service - your cashiers range from inept and slow to rude and unprofessional. The electronics department is staffed with people who lack product knowledge and at times are impossible to find. Your jewelery counter is better but god forbid there are more then 3 customers...come back later. I am sorry but it's not your place to read my greeting cards before you bag them. It is not professional to try and throw away a gift card that still has a balance on it. It is not professional to loudly announce that the young woman in front us in line card has declined and to scan it again. Competitive pricing - Look I know you have limited staff but charging 59.99 for a video game that is 19.99 at walmart shows how far behind the power curve you operate. Your TV's are overpriced, tablets overpriced, computers overpriced, and pretty much entire electronics section is overpriced. Your prices on Guns, Yankee Candles, greeting cards, Coach Purses, and liquor are however good. Product Staging - Often times the BX looks like its under construction, but it's not. Things are not where they should be, prices are wrong, and to be honest I don't see it getting better. Failing to honor your own policies - I won't detail all my grievances here but the only times the BX gets my business it usually involves them matching a price. Problem is they rarely want to do it and treat you like you are a con artist and gaff at the idea they may not be in line with market pricing. Yes I know $100 price difference is a large sum of money but you are the one failing to remain competitive. So until you get your act together I recommend everyone use their google shopper app and price check anything you plan to purchase here before checking out. read more

Compared to most BX's it's average. I've been to BX's at HQ and smaller. Honestly, I rarely shop AAFES, but on the rare occasion I do I've been able to fulfill my needs here. Well, I'd love to say more, but in a previous review 'Michael F.' hit it on the nose. Most things are over priced, and there's a limited selection. Yet, on a positive note you can more often than not find an outstanding deal or rare items that you might not find at the retailers. Oh, and one last thing... If you value your automobile park in the furthest reaches of the parking lot. You'll thank me later. read more

To be honest I have always had a good time here. The prices are more then fair and the service is always great. I have gotten everything from a washer and dryer, to a Xbox, to a board game. If you are the few that can get on base and enjoy it, I recommended it. Also they have Popeyes in the food court, so its never not worth going Hahahahha. read more

Out of all BXs I've been to this one is the worst. I can't say enough how bad the lines are. 15+ people in each line only 2 registers open and managers just fucking around and not helping out. Some cashiers need to put a smile on their face too, they look like you are making it such an Inconvenience for them by shopping there. read more

This review is solely for the firearms section of the BX. If you are considering purchasing a weapon here I suggest you first check elsewhere. You will likely find it cheaper, or the same price (after taxes) without having to deal with the longer wait for a background check, and special rules like not being able to purchase ammo in the same caliber as your purchased firearm for the entire day. What really bothered me though was that when I got my gun home I realized they had slipped the display model into the box and not a new gun. This may sound trivial, but I didn't come here intending on purchasing a semi new weapon that had dirt and hand grease from who knows how many people handling it worked all into the engraving, serration, and groove of the slide and frame. My wife brought my Casio G-Shock last week to get the battery changed. The next day I showered with my watch as usual and my watched fogged up completely. Brought it back and the guy (who is really nice btw) removed the moisture from my watch, but said I cannot expose it to water anymore. I wish i would have known that bit of information before we let him do the battery replacement. Anyway, I was not happy about that little fact since it is a G-Shock after all, but I took my watch and left. Next morning I figured out the light in the watch didn't work. Brought it back and he told me the moisture probably blew out the bulbs and there is nothing he can do. So at the end of the day, my watch works, but can't see the time if there isn't light around and I can't get it wet. Needless to say, I wish I would have taken it somewhere else and spend the extra money (13 bucks here). But I'm trying to be positive about all this, so at least the BX is right here too. I can just pop in and spend another 72 dollars on the same watch once again. read more

Just tried calling and let it ring for over 10 minutes before finally hanging up so don't waste your time trying to call to find something out. I agree with the previous comments. Definitely overpriced, unless it's a specific thing (like gaming systems, Ipods, Ipads, video games, etc.) that are generally the same price everywhere you go then it's not worth buying. It's worth saving the sales tax on big ticket items like Wii, PS3, etc, that like I said are set at a standard price everywhere. Other than that, don't waste your time. You can find almost everything much cheaper at Target, Kmart, etc even after facturing in the sales tax savings. read more
