I came in for a glasses exam in March 2025, but because they didn't check for contacts at that time, I'm now being told I have to come back and pay for an additional visit -- two separate fees in total. When I asked to speak with a manager because the front desk couldn't assist, I was transferred to someone named Adam. He answered the phone with a blunt "hello," with no professional greeting or introduction. He was unhelpful, dismissive, and lacked any sense of professionalism. I've been a patient here for years, but after this experience, I will not be coming back. Go somewhere that values their patients and provides competent, respectful customer service. I have mixed feelings about this spot. I got an eye exam in late 2021. Most people I interacted with through this multi-visit experience seemed not particularly excited to be there. There's a male energy here, which is fine but clearly dominant. I was impressed that everything was digital; the exam was quick. The doc seemed nice enough, though the visit was so short that I didn't really feel like it was a deep conversation or relationship. Because of covid-19, they're not using drops for the exam, so a $19 copay for a digital version of that part of the test was offered to me. I declined and felt no pressure. No one offered to help me with my frames, which I was a little surprised by. I also never got a call to pick-up my glasses. When I did pick-up my glasses, there was obviously something wrong with them. I was told I would just need to drop in to get help and also to wait a week to see if my eyes adjusted. I knew there was something wrong with the glasses - not just my getting used to them. Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long for someone to help me. After confirming the prescription was correct, the guy took my glasses back and said he had to bend the frames slightly, and sure enough, that helped. Note that their 100 day policy starts on the day you bought the glasses, not when you picked them up. read more

My wife came home crying after we took her to see Dr Cohen. Horribly rude person as I can see is confirmed by other reviews. She berated my wife and made her feel terrible. Guess she feels entitled to do so with her esteemed position as a mere optometrist. My whole family has gone to vision works for many years and will never return. I work in an ophthalmology specialist office and we would never dream of treating a patient so bad. We will tell anyone in this area to stay away from Vision works and Dr Cohen, she is a disgrace. I've been going to this place for glasses and contacts since it was just "DavisVision". They have a great selection and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Any issues I've ever had with my vision wear (halos, glasses not fitting right, etc.) were addressed promptly. They also sell some nice cases and cleaning supplies. Stay away from Dr. Kim though. For whatever reason, she is visibly pissed-off 99% of the time. I'm talking to the point where during my very first exam with her, I very nearly asked "Are you OK?" I've never been in a situation where the PATIENT expressed concern for the DOCTOR'S well-being. If you're reading this during the COVID pandemic, be advised the store's currently staffed by a skeleton crew and you'll be forbidden from entering without making an appointment online and undergoing a temperature check at the door. As a logical person who'd rather be minorly-inconvenienced than on a ventilator, I am fine with this. But if you're the stubborn and impatient type, please leave these people to do their jobs and wait until 2021 to get your vision care. read more

I beg to differ with any negative statements about this establishment. I was recommended by Davis Vision Insurance as this location fully covered my frames and lenses with the exception on one brand. My experience was world class. The staff was very courteous over the phone prior to my visit which compelled me to go in person. My process was seamless!!! I was contacted upon entry and serviced with class and expertise. These folks took great care of me all the way through. I had no choice but to take the time out to commend these guys. Very nice people, very expensive low quality crap 60$ per lens without any type of coating. No uv protection, no antireflective, no scratch resistance, no transition. (COSTCO does all these for the same price included no extra fees) Frames under 100$ are the worst junk ever, very poor low quality frames. Designer frames are nice but over priced... Looked up a frame I liked on line and found it for 300$ less than the in store price. If you have a bunch of money to waste and get mediocre quality glasses at best, then this is the place to go. VERY displeased with service (or should I say lack thereof). Made an appointment at the end of last week for a noon appointment today. Got there 15mins early and then was seen for my pre-test within 10 mins. Great! But then I sit, and sit, and sit in the waiting area. At first, the doctor was seeing other patients. Around 12:45ish, I see and hear him asking one of the young ladies if his 1 o'clock appointment was confirmed. I was confused at first and initially didn't think much of it. Maybe he was running behind? Maybe he needed to leave early? Anywhoo, I went back to playing on my phone until I realized it was after 1 and he just called a patient who walked in just before 1 in for their exam. Just as he walked into the exam room, I went to the desk to ask the young lady who did my pre-test why another patient was being seen as I'd been waiting. He couldn't have started any exam in the seconds it took for her to go and tell him. I see him and the patient come out of the room and then they go down the hall for something and then re-enter the exam room. The young lady then tells me he said for me to look at glasses. I wasn't there to pick out glasses. I was there to get my eyes examined. Which apparently is something the doctor needs to do because he missed that there were two whole patients sitting right in front of him and he had their paperwork and somehow shuffled them to the bottom. I came to this location because a couple years ago when I needed services, the staff there was very efficient and saw me in a timely manner. This wasn't the same doc I saw then and I'm certainly not pleased with him! Foolish me for thinking there was some consistency and that's why I drove all the way from Brooklyn to get what I received before. No such luck! Won't be coming back! read more

I went back to Davis Vision works and was greeted by the nicest guy,Danny,he greeted me and invited me to take a seat and I'll be next to be seen....I did see the amazing Ray Diaz although he was helping another person at the time he did acknowledge me and said hello... I was helped today by the stores manager Adam who has the very best customer service skills I have ever seen..He knew why I came in and already had a plan in place.... Worst customer service ever. Waiting for 30 minutes (watching my clock) no service was provided. All I needed to do was pick up a pair of glasses that I ordered. They wouldn't give me the time of day. Finally some guy came out from the back and told me to get out when I started complaining, he told me I lied about waiting 30 minutes and that I only waited 3 minutes. He is insane. He tells me that he wouldn't walk into my livingroom with that attitude. Well, he's not invited. This is a business!!! He offered to give me back my money, when I requested it, he refused. My first experience here was fine. However, I recently went here for a pair of glasses and my prescription changed by the slightest and they have gotten my eye glasses wrong twice already in 2 weeks! It's ridiculous! And on top of it even to return or modify then they made me wait over 30 minutes to speak to the optician for something so simple!!! Along with me we're about 3 other people as well waiting to have their glasses fixed as well. So clearly it is not my doctor messing anything up! I will never return to this place again. The WORST! I disregarded the poor reviews from Google when making an appointment because I thought- had bad can they be? If I can do it all over again- I would never have gone to this location. I would have rather driven an hour to get great customer service and glasses that I can actually wear. I ordered glasses through my insurance- went to pick them up and they ordered the wrong type of lens. I went back and got eyes re-checked and they ordered new ones. Went to pick the second pair up and the lens were still not right. They said I should have told them what type of lens I needed- but how am I supposed to know the specifics? Their customer service is horrible. Some of the staff are rude and not empathetic. They are definitely not customer-experience focused. Not worth the time or frustration in my opinion. Rating trending down. This is based on what I witnessed today while picking up my glasses and my charming experience. There was a very elderly woman in the store attempting to get glasses. Her plan was bare bones like the general population $69.95 frames. Let me also say that it was apparent by looking at this lady and the glasses she was already wearing (very thick lenses) that she was either legally blind or close to it. The sales associate told this lady to go to the walls and look for a pair of frames that were $69.95 or less, then he would help her with the lenses. He might as well have told this lady to go to the wall and look for a unicorn and the lucky elf with a pot of gold. Neither would she have found let alone been able to see. It was also clear that this lady was not looking to make a fashion statement or by any means had the money to afford the wall frame prices. During this lady's hunt for Waldo on the wall, the same man serviced me with my pick up. What a charming individual. I think he had all of ten words to say to me. Close to the end of my visit, the lady looking on the wall for what could not even be found on the wall, asked the man/eye associate twice for help saying she could not find anything. He did not respond. So irritated I stepped in and in a very load the whole place could hear me voice I told the lady exactly where the $69.95 frames rack was located. (First I told the salesman to tell her where they were located and he did not respond). When I left the store the salesman gave me attitude when handing me my receipt. And get this, my glasses did not fit in the glass case and he told me that I got the glass case based on the price of the glasses. So my glasses get smushed into a smaller case. Literally just walked out of the store but I had to leave a review because I have never had such good customer service!! I came in hoping for a repair because I managed to break my glasses this morning. I walk in and they say they can't repair because of how it broke however, I can replace them if they connect with the store i got them from. The entire store worked hard to ensure I got my glasses as soon as possible and I was out with a new pair in less than 30 minutes. Extremely pleased with the service at this location. For several years my family were satisfied customers, but after moving we went elsewhere for our eyewear. Huge mistake since other places, such as Cohens Optical, accepted the same insurance as at Visionworks, but ended up charging us much more for equivalent glasses. I went to the specialist, tried to get ahold of her to report the specialist results . She would not talk to me I got a letter saying the case was closed. This was totally opposite from what she told me she would do Davis shows a total lack of ethics & integrity. This lady bald faced lied to me , then closed the case. & refused to talk to me. Well now I realize that my readers that I took home don't have the blue light block on them for which I paid extra. Now I have to make yet another appt to get my readers fixed too. We walked in, were greeted and asked if a doctor's check up was needed. We wanted to browse first and asked where the wide frames were. The sales associate directed us to the men's frames but made no attempts to help us find wider frames. We were left alone to search ourselves. We then asked if the frames we were looking at came in a wider width and received the answer, "I don't know." It's totally acceptable that a sales associate does not know but at least try to find out. Appear to care, even if you don't. The selection of frames looked decent and maybe we met an associate on a bad day but I would rate this location as one with horrible customer service. We are taking our business elsewhere. read more

The rest of the employees were all grumpy and complaining the entire time. I was in need of a dmv eye test. I came over here on august 1. I was told by Adam, very rudely, to wait and that I would be seen. After 35 minutes of waiting I approached a different person that worked there. They said no today isn't good, let's schedule an appointment for tomorrow august 2. I make the appointment for august 2 at 10 AM. They open at 10 AM. I come back august 2 at 9:58 AM. Another customer is already inside. I check in and the employee gave me the form to complete. I did complete it and continued to wait. This exam takes about 10-15 minutes. I waited for over 40 minutes. At 10:40 I asked Adam, when I would be seen as I have been here a long time. He very rudely responded they take appointments starting at 9 AM. I politely said well on your door it says 10:00. He rudely responded well we take appointments earlier. DO NOT COME HERE. They are not honest, do not respect your time or honor their appointment times. OH and they made me pay in cash for it because they could not figure out how to enter it in their credit card system. read more

I have to say that these were the most useless, and unhelpful bunch of people I have met in a long, long time. I went in with my 87 year old dad, who at this point, sadly, is like going in with a child. He needed new glasses, and I don't wear glasses, never have so what do I know about picking out and finding frames that fit? I asked for help finding a pair that would fit him, and they point to the wall and say to pick out a frame. I have no idea, I could stick anything on him and he'd say they were okay, but once he's wearing them long term, they might not be. I ask for help again, and they look at me like I'm an idiot and say to pick out a frame from the wall. It's not like they were busy, it was early in the day, only three other customers in the front, none of them being helped by the way, and at least eight people working there. I run a small business, and if I treated potential customers like that I'd be living in a refrigerator box under an overpass. A few months ago, I had asked the front desk how long I would be waiting for the appt. as I wanted to grab quick lunch nearby, And she says "well I'm hungry too!!" Okay.. Thanks for this irrelevant piece of information. Nevertheless I ended up waiting a long time. You almost feel like you're inconveniencing them yet you are paying for their service. Not to mention they have recorded the incorrect prescription on the computer. I am afraid the contact lense company will send the wrong contacts. I walked in yesterday, asking if they can pull up my chart to check it and front staff lady (African American, long straight hair, didn't get her name) scolds me that since I don't have an appointment I must wait for the doctor just to check ONE detail (my script was wrong!!! Not my fault!) I waited a little bit but decided it was not worth waiting in the same room as this rude woman. The customer next to me expressed how she hates coming here but has no choice as the insurance covers it. Just got off the phone with contact lense company who mentioned that they tried to call them to verify my script-- and yet they said they were too busy to check on this. AVOID! Rude!
