I was visiting from Lancaster, PA to San Diego. I got 2 tatoos done by Quin. I felt comfortable with her as soon as I walked in. She was with another client but welcomed me as I showed up a bit earlier than my appointment. While waiting, Quin introduced me to Tam the shop owner. They all made me feel comfortable and we talked as if we were old friends. When Quin finished up with her client I was blown away by her professionalism and thorough cleanliness of her station. She was able to answer all the questions I had and made me feel comfortable, as this was my 1st tattoo in many years. Not only that, her work is clean and detailed. I love THAO to death! I've been with her for about 6 years now!!!!! I can't stop going to her for anything and everything! She is so talented, so freaking amazing person, and drop dead gorgeous! Came here for Friday the 13th piercings that I found through IG. Most piercings were $31 which was a lot better than the prices that I had found at other spots. The inside is pretty big with a spot for haircuts, tattoos, then piercings. We waited about two hours which was expected. I was going to get my eyebrow pierced but I didn't have the anatomy for it so I got both my nostrils pierced instead. I got pierced by Cindy who was cool and talked me through the piercings. Definitely don't go here thinking you can "walk in" for a piercing. I stopped by midday during the week so I understand it being slow/quiet but it was very apparent nobody was available or ready to provide any kind of service. Nee is experienced and the whole process took about 2 hours. They get set up and explain the process to you, do some before pictures and shade comparisons. The procedure will lighten 2 to 3 shades, but I think that depends on how yellow your teeth start. Then you sit back and relax for an hour ish while the gel does its magic and they constantly check to make sure you're comfortable the whole time. Pretty cool vibe in here, everyone was really friendly. Owner was really chill, but the rating isn't on him. I got tatted by Ben, the white dude with a bunch of tatts. I would not recommend him. Came in for walk-in, told him my idea, he did it but it wasn't as accurate as I wanted it to be. He sounded annoyed and didn't want to be bothered by the accuracy of the tattoo, so I just trusted him. He free-handed some parts in completing the tattoo, which obviously showed. He gave me a price that reciprocated the quality of the tattoo and I gave a 30% tip. I was not pleased with the final result so I asked for a touch up the next week. At the time of the next appointment, I was 5 min late, however, he came in 30 min late from a smoke break. Right after the quick touch up (of just filling in the line) he charged me 20$ for the simple fill in. Which was really aggravating as he had come in ridiculously late, messed it up to begin with. Just overall bad experience and would not recommend this dude. read more

I got the privilege of being a model and got my brows done by Thao! I had work done on my brows from the previous two years.... And she brought my eyebrows back to life! I love how she kept my shape of my natural brow and how she gave me a shade that well complimented. She made sure I was comfortable and informed me with what she would be doing. The tattooing takes place in a room where other people may be present getting tattoos as well, but it wasn't awkward, everyone was respectable and the shop has a welcoming vibe. From speaking with her on the phone to getting to the shop and being with her in her little station of the room, she was very sweet and kind!! I don't recommend you going to this shop!!!!! I accompanied my friend to go get her nipples pierced with Anissa and I decide to get my nipples pierced as well. It ended up being the worst mistake possible. She gave me a bar that was to small to begin with and caused a lot of pain and irritation. I went back to her to show her that the bar was too small and was expecting her to exchange it out for a larger size free of charge. she didn't have the size that I needed but me being in so much pain I took a slightly larger size and she still ended up charging me 20 dlls. After the swelling went down, the pain and discomfort continued, but I notice that the piercings were in too deep so I went to another shop for a second opinion. They told me that the job wasn't done correctly and that she pierced to deep. She ended up piercing my areola and not my nipple. They suggested I remove the piercing because it was incorrectly pierced and it wasn't going to heal properly and could cause deformity. I went back to Anissa requesting a refund and she was so persistent on only giving me half back. I had explained to her that the piercing wasn't done correctly but she did not want to own up to her mistake, and did not want to refund me my money. Issues with Anissa aside, I contacted the owner Tam in hopes of a resolution. Tam quickly offered a full refund if I removed my negative review off of yelp. The thing is that, that was not my review and when I informed him that it wasn't my review he wasn't as responsive anymore. To this day I was left on seen for a day and I attempted to follow back up but no response yet. Both owner and employee have shown an incredible amount of unprofessionalism and I do not recommend anyone going to their shop. read more

Very disappointed. Tattoos- Its a shame, I got my tattoo here years ago by Kim and it looked awesome even though I paid $130 for a 5x5 tattoo. I decided to get a tattoo from her again. I came in with an appointment but she said she was too busy so I had to reschedule. Came back again and its the same thing "sorry, too busy to tat you up". Wtf?! don't schedule me if you're sooo busy then! Haircuts- Got my first haircut here by Macho. He's talented but also a shame... he'd rather play cards than cut your hair. The other two barbers were not even that great and they charge $25-$30 for a haircut plus tip. And for some ODD reason, when you give them a $40 they'll say they don't have change lol. What? do you expect me to give you a $10-$15 tip? Would be happy to if you give me a great customer service. This place needs to work on professionalism and customer service . After all, customers deserves it since they're the ones paying the overprice cuts and tats. Never coming back, there are other shops out there that will give you a good tat and cut for a lower price and good service. read more

4/14/18 update: Just received my 10th and 11th piercing by Jay and I couldn't be any happier! Jay takes time out of his day to update me on upcoming deals and answer my millions of questions. If I don't follow up with him for a while, he ALWAYS reaches out to me. One of the best things though, is that he always sends me an appreciation text after every piercing session. Jay truly loves ALL of his clients- new or old. When you leave his piercing room, the session doesn't end there. You're not just paying for the piercing, but for Jay's expertise, selflessness, and follow up sessions as your piercings heal. I don't normally leave reviews but this one upset me a bit. I came here 2.5 years ago with my friend and we both got a double piercing with ChiChi which we had an amazing experience with. However, one of my double piercings has closed up after not wearing an earring for 5 months - so I DM'd Mickey on Instagram to repierce one hole. She agreed for me to come in at noon, which I promptly arrived at 11:57am. However Mickey didn't show up until 1pm - it was like she forgot that she told me 12pm was ok. During my wait, I was greeted by 3 other guys who were there and they offered me snacks while waiting - great service on their part, even calling Mickey for me and keeping conservation. When Mickey came in, she was in a bad mood and was unprofessional. We went through with my piercing and she charged me $40 (this was the same price I was charged 2.5 years ago for my two piercings). However my ear was bleeding and dripped onto my shirt and hair. I'm not bashing Daygo as a whole, but this customer service isn't acceptable. I get everyone has bad days but it's not okay for Mickey to fail to communicate with me that she would be late given we agreed to meet. I felt I was owed an apology at least for the one hour wait. Additionally, I felt the quality of the piercing could have been better as my piercing shouldn't have been bleeding. It's still currently bleeding here and there, and quite uncomfortable to lay on. I didn't have any of these issues with any prior piercings and I wouldn't recommend any of my friends to come here in the future. read more

Jay is such a great piercer! I called in early to make sure a piercer was there and if I had to make an appointment. But Jay was put on the phone and he told me to come in within an hour or so and he'd be there still! When I got there, he was on the couch waiting and took me back. He showed me the room that I'd get pierced in, and I noticed that he already laid out the tools, jewelry choices, and wipes before I got there. He gave me the choice between two loops (because I wanted loops, as I got the snug piercing) and described the difference between the two, how they work, and the difference between those two seamless loops and threaded loops. I was also unsure of the placement of the piercing, and while I was debating, he waited patiently and was getting things ready. He did not rush me at all! Throughout the process, he was very careful and informative! He always checked in to make sure I was feeling okay, not dizzy, and that I wouldn't feel much pain other than the stab. Jay also gave me a 1.8mm diameter loop so that there was room for any possible swelling, and for me to clean the piercing well. My sister came along and he answered all questions both of us had, and also told her about the tattoo artists Daygo has since she is thinking about getting a tattoo. Same as everyone else who was pierced by Jay, he instructed me on the details of the jewelry he used, how to properly clean the piercing, what to do in case a keloid appeared (and also explained to me what they were), to text him if anything was needed and more. Overall, he answered any possible question I could've had! Jay is professional but casual at the same time. He definitely knows his profession and knows how to crack a joke and make people laugh! After getting flaked on by Angel over at full circle tattoo (1 star review incoming at a later date), I searched IG and came across Kim Rubi's lion piece. Kim, from the very beginning, has been very attentive and responsive to my texts. She provides great feedback before each session and makes sure we're going to put the best piece possible on my body. Her work ethic is great and honestly I'm a little glad my first artist flaked because I would never have gotten to experienced Kim's work. I still have one more short session left with Kim, but I don't need to wait to give her and this shop a 5 star review. The owner Tam is also very friendly and welcoming, his artwork is 2nd to none. Everyone always asks me where I get my cuts and I always recommend them. They do call ahead a bit if you need that real quick cut they squeeze you in no questions asked. He was an apprentice for like 2 days before he started tattooing people (seriously like a month into his apprenticeship he started tattooing) so no.
