Filthy AC unit
Jason D.

My wife and two children stayed here as the LaQuinta property was unable to accommodate us for the night during an unexpected stop in Butte, MT. This property is now branded as WINGATE by WYNDHAM; not Days Inn. The lobby was inviting and apparently newly renovated with friendly/ helpful staff. The breakfast was average hotel breakfast. Although the beds were clean and there was new furniture in the rooms, the room, on the other hand, was not what I would expect to pay a listed $149 / night (before military discount) for. It felt as if we were staying in a sleazy, one-off, rural hotel. The toilet did not flush unless you held down the handle, there was wadded up toilet paper stuffed into the wall protecting door stop, The mop board at the bottom of the floor was peeling off of the wall, There was a tile missing at the base of the shower, there was no cover on the exhaust fan/ light in the shower; leaving the bulb and socket exposed. There was hair stuck to the tile of the shower, and the grout where the tiled wall meets the floor in the shower appeared grimy/ discolored. The window rattled back and forth all night in the wind as it appeared to be off the track and was only silenced by using the locking mechanism. The window sill had a pile up of what appeared to be paint flakes and sheetrock dust. The A/C unit had filthy controls and louvers. The fire alarm and sprinkler heads had painters tape around their edges. The two other Wyndham properties, and two non-Wyndham properties we stayed in during this trip had none of these issues and it is certainly not what we have come to expect at their properties. We had just traveled from Grande Prairie, Alberta and were on the road for 900 miles/ 13 hours. I went to speak to the front desk staff but there were other patrons checking in and we just wanted to find dinner, let the kids catch up on school work, and get some sleep. Upon check out, there was a line and we were on a tight schedule to travel. I did not get a chance to discuss this with the local staff. While on the road, I attempted to call Customer service 4 times but no-one ever answered and the call disconnected each time. Finally, Michael, a manager from Cyrus Hotels (whoever they are) responded to the email complaint that we had submitted on the Wyndham website and gave us $25.00 off the room rate. Although we appreciate the gesture, I have reached out to Michael and Wyndham indicating that $25.00 off was unacceptable for the condition of the room. I have had no response from Michael and Wyndham corporate is telling me to "keep emailing him" as they can not provide any further assistance. I've posted some photos that should speak for themselves.

Stains on the bed spread, told by 2 workers that they had a pool for the kids. Got to the pool it is drained and not working. Remote to TV didn't work Don't waste your time and money here

Wow! Where do I start? $280 a night I would expect way more than why I got! Pool was closed for Covid I give them that one, but I had to ask for an ice bucket which is shared with the other rooms, had to ask for a do not disturb sign, and the filth by and under the bed was disgusting! I feel they should give us their money back I couldn't sleep in the filth, the carpets were nasty and the vending machine ripped me off twice $.75 bother times if that happens every time I they are making a killing! On top of the $280 a night! So gross! Even the one star is too high

Aug 12,2022. Booked over a week in advance and Paid for a one stay just to get rest from a long road trip. Traveling with pet, don't mind paying the pet fee. Here is what I do mind walking into a bathroom and floor not cleaned. Toilet had crap all over underside of seat. Tile like floor not cleaned. Called to get toilet cleaned. But that is not the main problem: room 126, last room to a main entrance as well as smoker door. All night so far, slam slam slam. And the dog barks from such a loud noise. Every time, and I even gave her a rx sedative. Even if the dog did not bark I would wake from such a slam. So here I am in Butte MT sitting in my car with my own blanket and my own pillow . Dog is finally asleep thanks to the rain drops falling on the car. And do not have to listen to constant slamming of a heavy metal mechanism on the entrance door. Me, well I'm so freaking livid I can't sleep now and honestly feel like calling the cops and issuing a noise complaint on Days Inn!!!!! It is beyond bs that they think they should even sell that room!!!! I wish I would have read reviews prior to booking, I agree with all the posts about old hotel, construction, dank rooms, no pool. I really just wanted a place to sleep and they could not even provide that! I feel sorry for the staff the owner should be prosecuted for thinking they have the right to charge for such a disgusting place. Get more help or shut her down!

The room was squeaky clean, and thanks to the head housekeeper, Donna, we had fresh towels and amenities immediately upon request.

There was not a strong perfume odor that some hotels have. Overall, it was generally good. We stayed in a mobility accessible room on the second floor. The room was spacious and included a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator We had three challenges: the toilet, while taller than some, was not at w/c height (but the grab bars were strategically placed), the motorized privacy blind was inoperable requiring that the blackout curtain be used and the controls are behind a stationary chair. The third challenge was the bed. It is too high for someone in a standard wheelchair and so soft that getting out of bed takes a LOT of energy. Since those are things that couldn't be fixed during our stay, we didn't bother notifying the front desk.

I am thankful I had the extra latch across door so he could not walk into room. He should be thankful too because my dog is extremely protective. The man stood there and told me the room was marked as vacant and I would need to go to front desk. I told him I am not going anywhere! Then the room phone rang. It was front desk. The lady said room vacant. I told her I was given the key with room number on it. She asked my name and said she would update the system. We got absolutely no sleep after that experience. I got no apologies at all. I emailed the hotel and received no response. I will not stay there again!

My 5 star review is slashed thanks to the archaic policy of deposit (whooping $250 for a $100…read moreroom). Deposits have disappeared in quality hotels and were used to either boost their ledger and/or the hotel is a history of unruly guests - either way it holds the guests money from use for days! Since the clerk does not check the room upon checkout and releases the deposit without checking, deposits are meaningless. Deposit policies should be easy to spot on reservation webpages and BEFORE you arrive at the hotel. I typically leave hotels with these deposits as seems unsafe. Not to mention I have to verify return of deposit after I leave the hotel. Extra work for a nights stay. So the 5 star I was leaving plummeted thanks to a unnecessary and unwarranted deposit - especially with such a large number Improve? Take away the deposit

Their pool area is nice but constantly filled with little munchkins. Their gym is trash. Only 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, and one weight machine. Our rooms air conditioning didn't work. Obviously maintenance things come up but it appears they knew about it and still tried to stick us in that room and then it was an hour wait for them to come look at it and move my rooms. If you are just staying one night, this place is clean and nice for a quick stay minus the gym and room situation.

I rarely write bad reviews. I am optimistic and try to see the good in things. But this place is…read morejust BAD. We were on a long Montana trip and ended up needing to spend the night in Butte. I didn't expect a lot from a Ramada but Whyndham is decent, right? They are considered a step up from a pure budget motel, right? Wrong. From the moment we checked in, I complete regretted choosing this place. It was late and we just wanted to get our kids to bed yet the front desk person demanded IDs from me AND my wife. They then photocopied them and put them in a box on the desk and said they will keep them for 3 years. What in the world? I have NEVER had a hotel do that. They're worried about guests taking something from the room or damaging them somehow. Guess what? There is literally NOTHING worth taking in any of these rooms. And they already look like they are damaged! The entire hotel is extremely run down, dilapidated, grungy. The hallways are dark, musty. Garbage cans are overflowing with trash. If you know what 'The Backrooms' are, well, this is it! The bedrooms are sparse, which is fine but the beds, towels, everything, are just old and tired. The mattress was the old school spring type with worn out springs. Absolutely the worst mattress I have slept on in many years. Surprisingly, it wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be. Luckily, we were all tired enough from our long day driving that we slept ok, though I was worried about my truck getting broken into in the sketchy parking lot. It was fine. They offer free breakfast but we had absolutely no desire to eat at this place and got up early and got the heck out of there. I went to the front desk and requested that they turn over the copies of our drivers licenses that they were keeping in a flimsy, unlocked plastic box on the front desk. The front desk attendant told me this is a Montana law and all hotels do it (baloney!) but after I insisted, reluctantly handed them over. I absolutely do not recommend anyone ever stay here. I also most likely will never stay at a Ramada or maybe even any hotel under the Wyndham brand after this experience. How in the world Wyndham corporate lets this dirty dive bear the Wyndham name is beyond me. Yes, it was that bad. If you find yourself in Butte, Montana, stay anywhere but here. I didn't take many photos of this place but you can check out the couple I snapped of the inside of the room with the wallpaper peeling off the wall. That should give you an idea :|
