The macaroni and cheese lacked seasoning and flavor and it was impossible to pick up any flavor from the egg rolls but they were okay. The Mac and the egg rolls were also barely warm. TERRIBLE FOOD I told cashier that I'm from Louisiana and excited to try the food. I asked if I can have a menu and look it over. She said no, you can order here first and then sit down. I said I saw ya'll on instagram and recently your place had a menu I can view rather than the tv screen (I forgot my glasses). She said fine Every item cost more than their most recent menu online but its fine. Me and my fiance saw there was still no line so went back to cashier at 2:00pm. I guess we had beat the lunch crowd we thought....since no line and only one table of people finishing their meal. We told her we want to dine in. I ordered red beans and rice- they were out of that. I ordered swamp water drink- they were out of it. I ordered Chicken sandwhich- they were out of it. I then ordered grits with lobster and shrimp-they were out of that. They cashier started laughing. I laughed a little to be polite. Next I tried to order a shrimp po boy with fries- with hot sauce on the side, a side order of cabbage, a strawberry lemonade, a glass of ice water, and shrimp and grits for my fiance. I asked can I go ahead and get my drink and she said in a couple of minutes . The chef walked around to where we were standing- looked us up and down, then went back into the kitchen. We sat down around 2:03 to wait for our drinks. She wouldnt bring them. About 15 minutes later- a crowd began to come in. There was a large group that sat beside us to wait. The chef placed our food under food shelf. The cashier turned around and looked at it and then us, then began taking more orders. She took about 20 peoples orders Then over 45 minutes later the chef came around and looked at the food that was stacking and went to turn around. A guy in the line (doing a pick up I assume) stepped out of the line to ask him for help. He begrudgingly obliged. Then decided to bag up a few more orders. We thought they called my fiances name. We went up to the counter and the chef handed Dale two black bags. We sat down and figured they give all the food as to go. When we opened the bags it was a different order. We went back to the counter and the chef was up there calling a different name. We gave the chef the food and he said it belonged to a LaDelle. The table that arrived 20 minutes after us. (our food was back there but hadnt called it out.) So the chef handed Dale our cold food and gave Dale the other tables food to bring it to them. Dale asked for our drinks and the chef said the cashier will get it in a minute. The music was loud so I didnt hear the interaction properly so I said sorry to the table beside us- that its rare that there are two "Dales". Two large women began yelling at me. They said i need to listen better and that their table name was LaDelle and then someone from the table quipped that "that white b***h better not have touched my chicken fingers!" I was too thirsty to eat my full meal but i did try a cajun fry... it was soggy. I asked my fiance to ask for our drinks again so Dale asked the cashier to give us our drinks and she said in a minute. Then another group of 20 people came in. Dale sat down and ate his cold food. The shrimp and grits were terrible, tasting like mashed potatoes. I did try a bite. They were not made right. I waited for my drink. After more people's order got taken. Dale got up to ask for our drinks and throw away his to go bowl from our dine in food that he finished. The cashier told him in a minute. Dale wouldnt leave so the cashier got pissed at him. She gave Mr. Ladelle his drink. Then she wouldnt say anything and gave Dale a dirty look. She gave him one of the drinks- the strawberry lemonade, then turned her back to him.. He asked for the second drink- the cup of water with ice. Saying nothing, she got a bottled water from cooler and set it on counter. My cabbage to go bowl was only filled 1/5th of the bowl even though it was a $4 side. I ate it in just like 5 bites. It was pretty good though. The po boy was bad. It was missing the side of sauce. The fried shrimp had no spices in the batter like a real shrimp po boy. The pickles were not dill, but were the bread and butter style. Which is gross. The roll wasnt cut in half properly so it was uneven. Fries were yucky. By the time we were about to leave there had been like 40 people in the line that the cashier had taken orders from. There was no waitress. There weren't enough tables. People were giving me hostile looks. Normally i don't notice race, but i felt like i heard someone say something about my race again. As there were all African Americans and Im white. That made me feel that people were mad that i took the table up for so long. I've come to the conclusion that some food just looks good and doesn't taste good. This was one of the BEST restaurants i have ever been in Vegas!!! Hands down! It's s a small joint in a crowded parking lot structure, however it is fantastic! Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted by this great lady that filled me in on everything' I ended up going wit the Gumbochanga which is a mix of a real chimichanga n gumbo with all the amazing flavors from the sauce! However, as an Elite Guide, it is my duty and responsibility to report official dishes and restaurants to the public! The soul rolls are a mix of macaroni and cheese sweet potatoes wrapped up in a fried roll, and they come with syrup. The lawd is my Shepard I shall not want, and the rolls are aptly named because they touch my soul with every bite! I also discovered that DB's hot sauce is excellent! I have a low tolerance for spicy, so I always opt for tarter sauce over hot sauce when I eat catfish. However, DB's hot sauce is a different animal. It is not spicy, and it is more flavorful. DB cajun kitchen. I went for a particular item, but they did not have it. It is a seasonal item only but what I did was very good. The Gumbo Changa was unexpected but surprisingly good and the consommé sauce that came with it made it was even better. The combo plate with the jambalaya and Shrimp and grits were really good, I ate on that meal for the whole day well worth the trip. Would I go back? We drove out to DB's on the way to Mt Charleston after seeing a couple videos of the amazing looking food. There was a pretty long line inside. We were excited to see a lot of people there, meaning the foods gotta be good! We opted for to-go since a lot of people were occupying the tables waiting on their food, as well as a lot of people standing around the smaller tables. The line moved kinda quick. Standing in the line gives you time to choose what you want. I noticed the girl taking orders was very friendly and happy speaking to most guests but with me she seemed kinda annoyed or like she didn't want to be there and it made me a little uncomfortable. Its ok though, I paid and sat down and waited for my order. I felt like we waited a very long time, and definitely watched a lot of other people who ordered way after us get their food first, big orders too and we just ordered two things. A manager (Lala) noticed we were waiting for a while and asked us the name on our order and pulled a couple boxes that seemed to have been sitting up on expo for a while. Thankfully for her, who knows how much longer we would have been waiting. We ordered the chicken fries with the sauce on the side, and the 12 piece voodoo rolls. They never gave us the side of sauce which made me sad cause I love sauce but my husband doesn't so we wanted the best of both worlds. Regardless though, the food was really good and very flavorful. Super spicy too! I wasn't expecting it but it was a pleasant surprise. We also got two drinks, the crack juice and the bayou water. The crack juice was super good! I have no idea what the flavor was but it was definitely addicting like the name somewhat suggests lol. The bayou water tasted like a super sweet watermelon jolly rancher! My husband loved it. They give you a loud and warm "welcome in" shout. They are the first restaurant (from my experiences) that Nia the person who took my order, actually asked me if I am "military, first responders, teacher" that is outstanding to me since most/all other places the customer has to ask. DB's asked the customer. Again...food is still amazing...customer service is even better. Thanks again Nia and the entire staff. And the ease and comfort of her offering makes me convinced that it is their norm to care about all their customers. I had never heard of DB's until we had a Yelp Elite Event there in February. I know then I would be back, and that's what I did yesterday. After a hike in the wilderness 50+ miles away, we drove across North Las Vegas to get to DB's. I ordered a sausage Po Boy and my companion got a catfish Po Boy. We shared a banana pudding. The sandwiches took a while to make. There is a sign noting that it may take a while because of staffing shortages and that everything is cooked to order. We took the time to chat about our hike. We also noticed the large number of take out orders that they have. My name was called and I went to get our sandwiches. Each Po Boy comes with fries. The sandwiches are large with a lot of filling including cole slaw. They do not scrimp on the catfish nor the sausage. As we were eating, my companion, who lives in Henderson, was already talking about what she was going to get when she returns. Had it not been for the YEE, I would not know this place existed. The red beans and rice were so good and flavorful & was probably my favorite thing out of everything. The soul food egg rolls were bomb, I couldn't believe how delicious they really were. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the beignets not really being my favorite. Maybe it was a as how they packaged them in the paper bag by the time we got home, they were kinda soggy and very dense. That won't stop me from trying other desserts and other items on the menu. I have never had a po boy before, so I was really excited about this elite perk! All I can say is WOW, I've been missing out. I got the sausage po boy, dirty style with coleslaw, and fries. While the po boy was super messy to eat, it was absolutely delicious. I loooove coleslaw and DB's tasted so good! I also got a small order of the soup rolls. It was filled with yams and mac n cheese, then had some sort of brown sugar and cinnamon dipping sauce that tasted amazing with the rolls. Plenty of hungry visitors putting in orders, hard working employees behind the scenes, and overall an environment that demands attention from every corner. The woman working the front register was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. This was my first yelp elite event and she guided me with such grace - thank you! My second visit wasn't as fantastic as my first visit. I really wanted the Mac n cheese with the fried lobster tail, but it's no longer on the menu. I asked the cashier about and she had no idea what I was talking about...Lol! So I decided to try the fried green tomato basket...big mistake. The green tomatoes were super thin and the breading was very heavy. All I tasted was breading, no tangy green tomato taste at all. I was so disappointed as I had a craving for them. The fries were good (hard to mess up fries). And for some reason the basket had fried okra pieces in it, which I didn't ask for nor do I like. On the bright side, my husband absolutely loved the fried catfish poboy! The fish was fried perfectly, well seasoned and the portion size was HUGE. Dessert- we decided to try the banana pudding and the beignets. Big mistake! Banana pudding had some weird Carmel topping and was very runny. It did not stick to the spoon. Shrimp and grits: excellent. Flavor throughout the entire dish. You know how some places they make grits and just plop the shrimp and toppings and once you only have grits left it's eh? This one definitely seasons the grits and every bite was memorable. This is probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. Soul rolls: these are fried egg rolls with mac and cheese and yams. I didn't think these would be that special, but yes they are. The saltiness of the mac and cheese and the sweetness of the yams played well together creating a flavor profile I never thought of. Banana pudding: simple ingredients but full of flavor. Great ending to the meal. Drinks: I can't remember what they were (there was a green one that tasted like apple jolly rancher and a pink one that tasted like watermelon jolly rancher). These were good at first, but after a while it got too sweet for my liking. The service was great, the staff was helpful with questions. The ambiance was lively. Music playing, people interacting. Yes ma'am!!!! The ladies up front are incredible! We were immediately welcomed and handed a menu. I think her name is Max? She checked in on us multiple times throughout our stay. I had the fried okra and the catfish/ shrimp combo. The amount of butter and garlic wafting in this restaurant is mind blowing! They were out of the oxtail soup; which was a huge bummer but now I know they have it Fri/Sat mornings so I'll be back for sure!!! read more

Tonight was my first time trying this place, & I will say I was underwhelmed due to the raving reviews. The service wasn't anything special, heard employees complaining mostly. The ambiance was busy and I did appreciate an accurate wait time which was only about 30-ish minutes. I don't mind waiting for food because I prefer it to be made fresh. For the food: everything was either too salty or too sweet. I wish they made an announcement or had a sign of what food they were out of because by the time I got to the front I had to change my order. Chicken wings: seasoned well, some of mine were a little burnt , tasted of old grease perhaps Catfish: soggy . No crisp . Had a weird taste . Just OK at best. Had to come home & put in the air fryer because it didn't seem cooked throughly Yams : diabetes! Way too sweet & some were even crunchy Mac & cheese: they got it right ! Cornbread: texture was amazing just too sweet for me Originally I wanted red beans & rice and cabbage but they were out of that. Ordered a Bayou Sunset & lemonade , & those were extremely sweet , I added water. Also, I ordered two of the same meals with different entrees & the portions aren't consistent. One meal had a lot more of the sides than the other . Overall, for the money, & inconsistency I probably won't be back. Maybe I ordered the wrong things . Who knows. read more

From the moment you walk through the door. The customer service is on point. Casual yet extremely clean restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly & professional. I ordered the catfish poor boy with a lemonade. I got it to go as well. Let me say this. The young man that made my food. He NEEDS a raise!! His attention to detail. The thickness & just over all quality of the poor boy. Hands down #1 in my book. The fries had amazing flavor. They didn't make it home. There's a saying- Food so good. It make you want to slap your mama:). This was it!! The pricing of the food was perfect. This restaurant deserves to be on the Las Vegas Strip or in Downtown Summerlin as well. They COMPLETELY brought their "A" game to the culinary & hospitality table. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to stop by for your next bite to eat. Thank you once again! read more

At about 12:20pm there was a line all the way to the door and almost every table was sat with people. I was blown away because I had no idea this place was even here. Both girls up front were very kind and bubbly. I got the shrimp p'boy, dirty which included coleslaw and spicy butter pickles. My dad got the fried catfish, he said he was picking something safe to try it out. We were both highly pleased with our meals. The shrimp boy came with enough shrimp for each bite, that's important. I felt it could've used some more sauce on top, but I enjoyed that the bread roll didn't get soggy and was able to eat through it. The catfish was fried but very tender and soft in the middle. My dad kept saying "we're going to go back" "I'm looking at the menu for next time" "I'm sending your mom a link right now". It was pretty funny, he really enjoyed it. We will return! read more
