I heard about this place on tik tok and hate that I went to the wrong place (the old address). I called and they told me the right place so I will Blame that on my gps. I arrive and was greeted immediately and the first thing I noticed was the good music playing. The place was empty at around 2pm so I had my choice of seating. Wish brought a sweater The AC was ON. I ordered a kool aid which was good and a wing entree w 2 sides. It's soonest the only soul food spot that didn't include cornbread but when I got it, I saw why. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked. Catfish nuggets are excellent. The French fries are simple and great. The location was clean and the service was wonderful. The portions are huuuge. The sides are delicious without being overly salted like similar restaurants. There is a little bit of a wait but well worth it. Just plan to order in advance for pickup or stay a little while. I had a difficult time finding the restaurant because they lack signage. Once you enter the restaurant though very welcoming environment. The restaurant is clean and decorated very cute. The waitstaff are extremely polite and attentive greeting each customer and taking the time to talk to patrons. Now for the food...delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and it was not a long wait. The greens cooked well not overly salty and definitely not bland. The yams...omg I needed a double order. Not too sweet and the perfect texture so they were not mushy and held shape. That sweet heat sauce is all you need for everything, I used it for my fish, shrimp and it came on the wings. The portion sizes are good as well. Overall great experience the only thing I wish they had was moist towelettes but otherwise I definitely recommend you try this place if you are in the mood for some soul food! read more

This was my first time at Sista Kim Kitchen in Las Vegas, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, several key menu items were already unavailable, including oxtails and gumbo, which immediately set a bad tone. My guest and I ordered catfish nuggets with sides of mac and cheese, black eyed peas, yams, dirty rice, and collard greens. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, it took roughly 35 to 45 minutes for the food to come out. When the food finally arrived, I had to ask for utensils, which should never be an afterthought. We then realized the yams were missing from the order. After waiting even longer, the server eventually came back and told us the yams were not ready at all, which raised the question of why that wasn't communicated from the beginning. We also ordered cornbread and were told it was in the oven, but it never came out. As far as the food itself, it was just okay overall. The catfish nuggets were good and the dirty rice was solid, though it needed to be much hotter. The mac and cheese was average, the black eyed peas were not good, and the collard greens were probably the most consistent side on the plate. When the bill arrived, we were still charged for the yams and cornbread that we never received. I had to point it out myself before it was corrected, which added to the frustration. To make matters worse, while I was paying the bill, the table next to us received a large order of yams. I mentioned that we were told they were unavailable, and the response was asking if I wanted some to go, which only highlighted the lack of communication and organization. Overall, this experience fell short across the board, and I do not see myself returning. The operational side of the business clearly needs improvement, especially when it comes to flow, communication, and transparency with customers about what is and is not available. Those gaps should never happen, and unfortunately they overshadowed the food and the entire experience. read more

Walked in into very nice air-conditioning cute decor. I love the flowers and greenery that was hanging from the ceiling. We were then offered a table or a booth. We chose a booth. We got the first one. It was very clean. We got ordered sweet tea, which was amazing. Highly recommend. And then after that greeted by another waitress asking if we were ready to order so I loved how quick they were the food however it took quite a long time but that's how you know it's freshly made so I wasn't complaining. We ordered catfish shrimp, chicken, wings, and fried ribs! Boy those hot fried ribs were delicious!! Order also order some great sides. I love the mac & cheese and the greens were both delicious so were the yams. They all hit the spot. I will be back again for more of each. Overall, this lunch was great and I have no complaints. Called and spoke with the owner and was told they de vein the top of the shrimp not the bottom. All the veins of our meals were on top.(see pictures). I was really disappointed with my experience here. My husband and I spent about $60 on two plates alone (no drinks or desserts), and unfortunately neither meal was enjoyable. I ordered the fried ribs, and they tasted like they were cooked in old, dirty grease. The ribs themselves tasted old and reheated rather than fresh. The batter also had white specks throughout it, almost like cornmeal was used, which was not the texture or coating I expected. My husband ordered flavored fried chicken wings, and sadly they had the exact same issue. The overpowering taste of old burnt grease made it impossible to even tell whether the meat was properly seasoned or not. Both meals had the same unpleasant aftertaste that lingered in our mouths long after eating. I originally came because I saw a content creator feature the ribs and they looked fresh and delicious, but our experience was the complete opposite. We ended up throwing most of the food away, which was frustrating considering what we paid. For the price and hype, I expected much fresher food and better quality. Eventually they moved us to a booth where we sat for 20-30 minutes without being further acknowledged or even offered a glass of water. We don't understand the hype but can only assume all the good reviews are from employees and their friends and families. I love supporting local businesses/ family-owned restaurants. I suggest you not go an hour or two before they close. It's either they ran out of everything or leftovers. I had high hopes for the mac n cheese, but it didn't deliver. However, the wings were great. They were flavorful and juicy. I give credit when credit is due. Originally I asked for a shrimp po'boy. Chatting up with my friend that I went with and noticed that almost 30 min has gone by. One of the staff came back to let us know they ran out of shrimp. No big deal - I decided to get the wings instead, and like I said, they were good. I ordered it with mac n cheese with greens. Didn't get the greens and was given yams. Again, I was ok with it and just ate the yams. I noticed the gentleman behind our table getting impatient as well due to him waiting more than 30 min for his order. Afterwards, we went up the cashier to pay, it racked up to like $70. I was wondering ...but how??? We got two entrees and water. Thankfully I looked at the credit cards machine for the breakdown of the charges. I was being charged for the shrimp po' boy that I never got. I want to sincerely believe it was just a mistake and they just forgot to take it off. They did remove it after pointing out the mistake. I still tipped 18% or so, as much as I didn't want to. Thought I'd at least support a local business while they're starting out. BUT if they want to keep their business running, I say, make some improvements in time management, accuracy, and pricing. Took one bite- disappointed, Couldn't do it. Disgusting! The owner brought us red beans and rice as a substitute. My husband said it tasted better. I left with a massive tummy ache. Bubble guts! Not worth $61 dollars for two entrees. I hate to waste money. They have the nerve to put a sign up saying it was Keith Lee approved. Obviously, things have drastically changed! 1/10. Del Taco would've been better. We had to stop by the nearby Von's before getting on the road to head back to California due to my tummy ache. We are always looking for local small businesses to support when traveling. Hopped in a Lyft from our hotel for a short 10 minute drive. Staff were friendly upon entry and seemed happy to have us. We shared a couple items and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Wings are to die for! Lemon pepper and sweet heat are equally as good. Greens, mac, red beans n rice...all bomb! The hush puppies were also delicious. I'm particular because a lot of hush puppies can be dry and flavorless. But these were moist inside, firm crunch, and packed with flavor. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with mac and cheese, and my friend ordered fried fish and shrimp with fries and rice. My burger came with pickles even though I didn't ask for them, and the burger itself tasted burnt. The mac and cheese was cold. My friend's fish was overly salty, and overall the food just didn't live up to the hype--especially considering I only live up the street from the Tropicana.
