I had a difficult time finding the restaurant because they lack signage. Once you enter the restaurant though very welcoming environment. The restaurant is clean and decorated very cute. The waitstaff are extremely polite and attentive greeting each customer and taking the time to talk to patrons. Now for the food...delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and it was not a long wait. The greens cooked well not overly salty and definitely not bland. The yams...omg I needed a double order. Not too sweet and the perfect texture so they were not mushy and held shape. That sweet heat sauce is all you need for everything, I used it for my fish, shrimp and it came on the wings. The portion sizes are good as well. Overall great experience the only thing I wish they had was moist towelettes but otherwise I definitely recommend you try this place if you are in the mood for some soul food!

This was my first time at Sista Kim Kitchen in Las Vegas, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, several key menu items were already unavailable, including oxtails and gumbo, which immediately set a bad tone. My guest and I ordered catfish nuggets with sides of mac and cheese, black eyed peas, yams, dirty rice, and collard greens. Despite the restaurant not being crowded, it took roughly 35 to 45 minutes for the food to come out. When the food finally arrived, I had to ask for utensils, which should never be an afterthought. We then realized the yams were missing from the order. After waiting even longer, the server eventually came back and told us the yams were not ready at all, which raised the question of why that wasn't communicated from the beginning. We also ordered cornbread and were told it was in the oven, but it never came out. As far as the food itself, it was just okay overall. The catfish nuggets were good and the dirty rice was solid, though it needed to be much hotter. The mac and cheese was average, the black eyed peas were not good, and the collard greens were probably the most consistent side on the plate. When the bill arrived, we were still charged for the yams and cornbread that we never received. I had to point it out myself before it was corrected, which added to the frustration. To make matters worse, while I was paying the bill, the table next to us received a large order of yams. I mentioned that we were told they were unavailable, and the response was asking if I wanted some to go, which only highlighted the lack of communication and organization. Overall, this experience fell short across the board, and I do not see myself returning. The operational side of the business clearly needs improvement, especially when it comes to flow, communication, and transparency with customers about what is and is not available. Those gaps should never happen, and unfortunately they overshadowed the food and the entire experience.

Walked in into very nice air-conditioning cute decor. I love the flowers and greenery that was hanging from the ceiling. We were then offered a table or a booth. We chose a booth. We got the first one. It was very clean. We got ordered sweet tea, which was amazing. Highly recommend. And then after that greeted by another waitress asking if we were ready to order so I loved how quick they were the food however it took quite a long time but that's how you know it's freshly made so I wasn't complaining. We ordered catfish shrimp, chicken, wings, and fried ribs! Boy those hot fried ribs were delicious!! Order also order some great sides. I love the mac & cheese and the greens were both delicious so were the yams. They all hit the spot. I will be back again for more of each. Overall, this lunch was great and I have no complaints. It was was top-tier.

Highly recommend! Very hospitable and food is great, everything was fried well and nothing was dry. Mac and cheese and greens were also pretty good. A bit pricey but I believe they don't take tips at all, will come back again

My family and I have eaten here several times. This time was the worst. We ordered 6 dinners and received 5..All the shrimp meals had veins in them. Called and spoke with the owner and was told they de vein the top of the shrimp not the bottom. All the veins of our meals were on top.(see pictures). Owner tried to correct the problem by offering us something else but we had lost our appetite. No refund was policy so we are left disappointed with no other solution.

    Burnt grease taste

I was really disappointed with my experience here. My husband and I spent about $60 on two plates alone (no drinks or desserts), and unfortunately neither meal was enjoyable. I ordered the fried ribs, and they tasted like they were cooked in old, dirty grease. The ribs themselves tasted old and reheated rather than fresh. The batter also had white specks throughout it, almost like cornmeal was used, which was not the texture or coating I expected. My husband ordered flavored fried chicken wings, and sadly they had the exact same issue. The overpowering taste of old burnt grease made it impossible to even tell whether the meat was properly seasoned or not. Both meals had the same unpleasant aftertaste that lingered in our mouths long after eating. I originally came because I saw a content creator feature the ribs and they looked fresh and delicious, but our experience was the complete opposite. We ended up throwing most of the food away, which was frustrating considering what we paid. For the price and hype, I expected much fresher food and better quality. It was almost a half hour drive from home & we got the food to go.

the food not only looks amazing, it's actually delicious as well. We mixed the kool-aid (blue and red) and that was also good. Ms. Kim was personable, friendly, and sweet. She walked us through the menu on her customer favorites. I got the three sampler plate and the 10 pc wing. Everything was fresh and delicious. Her restaurant was also decorative and clean. We got our food to go, but she offered us a table to try everything fresh. Extremely sweet and welcoming.

I went to purchase the Wednesday wings & a gentleman at the front desk where I was waiting 10 mins before anyone approached me stated we are not doing the wings today . When they clearly have an advertisement up for the deal! Bad for business!

Great soul food homemade style. I recommend the cornbread and yams. The staff is very friendly like your favorite distant cousin. It will be on my list of places to eat every visit to Las Vegas.

Good food, good service, free kool aid refills and you can interchange the flavors. Don't get that at the soul food spots in Cali. Love the ambiance with r&b and soul music videos.

Came for lunch and we got the sampler platter with mac&cheese and yams it was rlly good! I wish the fish was a bit more juicy but overall it hit the spot. This is off strip but worth the drive to try something different.

Our server was kind, helpful, attentive, and just everything you look for in a server. We waited about 20 minutes to be sat, but you'd expect that at a breakfast place at breakfast time. No concern there. I ordere chicken fried steak- amazing, gritz bites - double amazing, tried my husbands sweet potato waffle - triple amazing! The mac and cheese was just fine. I would easily go back again just got the chicken fried steak, sweet potato waffle, or gritz bites. The ambiance is quite nice. Theres a table dedicated to the matriarch of the establishment, which really adds to the southern, home cooked vibes. The to go counter was busy the whole time we sat, but they seemed to move quickly. We were close enough to the door to hear the hostess telling people they were running out of certain items and that the would had increased to 30 or 40 minutes. Be sure to get there early to not miss out. Everyone was friendly, and the food was phenomenal. Can't ask for anything else.

Gritz Café Review…read more "The Day Vegas Introduced Us to Catfish, Sweet Potato Waffles... and a Missing Collard Green Mystery." June 17, 2026 -- the day Tiffany got insider intel from a Vegas local who told her, "You HAVE to try Gritz Café."That was all she needed to hear. She told me, I checked my Las Vegas Yelp food list, and sure enough -- Gritz Café was already saved. Destiny. Since Tiffany was already near the restaurant and I was still at the hotel, I ordered online. We couldn't enjoy the dine‑in experience this time, but we're saving that for the sequel. The Orders Tiffany went with one of her go‑to comfort dishes: Biscuit & Gravy Scrambled egg hard Potatoes with fried onions I saw Catfish on the menu and immediately felt spiritually connected. I ordered The Mississippi: 3 fried catfish pieces (grilled next time) Collard greens Steamed mixed vegetables Sweet Potato Waffle Extra tartar sauce Extra syrup Then came the hardest part: waiting for Tiffany and the food.I'm a smart husband, so I won't say which one I was more excited for. The Arrival... and the Plot Twist Tiffany arrived with the food, we unpacked everything, and immediately noticed two things missing: My collard greens Her scrambled egg Vegas giveth, Vegas taketh away. Tiffany's Biscuit & Gravy She said it was outstanding, even with the twist:The sausage was cut into pieces and placed on top instead of mixed in.Different, but delicious.Only the missing egg kept it from perfection. My Catfish & Waffle Combo The catfish wasn't as big or thick as the ones I get back home, but the flavor was outstanding -- seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Sweet Potato Waffle?A revelation.Perfect size, perfect thickness, perfect flavor.I'm now a believer. The steamed vegetables were... vegetables. They served their purpose and made me feel like I made at least one healthy decision. But I was really looking forward to those collard greens. Customer Service Redemption Tiffany called the restaurant and was transferred to the manager, Olivia. She was extremely apologetic and assured us the refund would hit my card by the end of the day.(At the time of this writing, it hasn't shown up yet -- but we're giving Vegas grace.) Final Verdict Even with the missing items, the food was delicious, the flavors were on point, and the service recovery was handled well. We're excited to return -- in person -- on our next Vegas trip.Because Gritz Café deserves a proper dine‑in moment.

The fact that they rep the Niners was also a nice bonus! We came in, grabbed a menu and sat. Kenny promptly came over and wanted to take our order. There's a lot of choices we needed a minute. We ended up doing the combo. I did the fried catfish, mac, and the BEP had good reviews so I did that. Woman did the grilled catfish, greens and yams. The menu said fried food takes 20+ minutes, when I asked Kenny he said it'd be 6-7. I'm assuming that estimate is for busier times. They had a steady stream while we were there around 1. I enjoy the places with history that have the pics on the wall w the Celebs that have come through. I didn't know them all but Kenny and his family are obviously well loved, and after tasting the food I get it! The fish was crispy and flavorful! The mac was cheesy and delicious, and the peas had a nice smooth flavor. I think my favourite part of all was that they have and give togo cups of Crystal! My favourite and all I can tolerate heat wise. The pancake cornbread was also a fun treat I enjoyed for dessert. Woman's food was good but I liked mine better. The fish was cooked w bell peppers, which I don't really eat anymore. It had onions too, reminded me of a fajita. I don't eat yams butt tried her greens, they were ok. She said that to her they tasted canned. Idk but they weren't my favourite. My plate ftw. I'd absolutely go back, I'm sure it's a vibe when there's a game on. It stinks how I found them but I'm SO glad I did!

The waffle had a strong cinnamon flavor which I enjoyed. The black hot coffee was a standard drip coffee. Service was a little slow but they were busy so i understand why it was slow. The mac and cheese, however, was excellent. Out of all the Lo-Lo's locations I've been to, this one had the best mac and cheese by far. The service was good, our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff was friendly. It is a little pricey for what you get, but overall I had a good experience. With a little more seasoning on the chicken and catfish, this location would easily earn a higher rating.
