Matt repaired my Samsung fridge for freezing at the back panel. First, in Oct 2022, he installed an extra heating element for $340 and promised me that the issue is permanently addressed. Then, I had the same issue again within 4 months in Feb 2023 and this time, he replaced the evaporator cover assembly for another $75 and promised me that this is the ultimate fix and I would not have to worry about this issue again. Now, I have the same issue for the last 3 months and when I contacted them, they are essentially asking for another $537 to fix this issue and claiming that they won't even come and check why their fix didn't work because the fix is out of warranty. I would expect any decent technician to at least find out why their "ultimate fix" did not work and do what they can to address the same issue for which they were already paid $415. Please avoid because ultimately what matters is whether they stand up to their work and not whether they are nice on their first visit.

He does great work and charges what I think are very reasonable prices for the level of skill and quality involved. The first call was at my mother-in-law's house, where Eli diagnosed a broken compressor in her refrigerator that had stopped cooling. He did a great job working with my mother-in-law whose first language is not English. She was very happy. A few days later, he came to our house after some interior lights stopped working following a deep cleaning. He fixed the lights, then went well beyond that. Our freezer door hinge wiring harness had snapped nearly every wire inside, which had also taken out the ice maker. I'd honestly written the ice maker off after a few failed attempts to repair it myself, but Eli came in and showed it could absolutely be fixed, and done right. He patiently soldered and extended close to ten broken wires, heat-sealing and re-sheathing each one so the same failure wouldn't happen again. His fix also cost much less than replacing the whole door which was what I thought was going to have to be done. Finally, when we noticed water pooling under the refrigerator a few days later, Eli came back and dug into the back of the unit to clear a clogged compressor drain. He cleaned everything out in the process and helped put everything back together perfectly. It's more than just his expertise that I appreciated. Eli is friendly, honest, easy to work with, and a just a nice guy. He also took the time to engage with our three-and-a-half-year-old son, who was glued to every step of the repairs at our house, and made him feel like part of the project. Ever since, our son has been busy "fixing" everything in the house with his own toy tools. I'm really happy to have found Eli and SmartFix. He's the first person I'll be calling for any future appliance work at our home. Thank you, Eli!

It was around 5 PM on a weekday when we called. He asked if we'd like him to come at 8 PM the same night. Yes! He was 15 minutes early. He tested the most likely culprits and concluded it was the circulating pump. He tried to save us some money by removing the gunk that had built up, hoping that would solve the problem. But no, the unit had to be replaced. Tom returned at 2 PM the following day and quickly made the repair. He hung around listening to the dishwasher going through the cycle to ensure it was operating properly. This included removal of the old units and ductwork, new ducting throughout, a two-zone ducted heat pump system with two new air handlers, an outdoor heat pump, and a ceiling-mounted cassette unit for our primary suite (a room that gets a lot of direct sun and had always been tough to keep cool with the old system). Teodor, our project manager, did a great job assessing our home and specifying the system. The installation crew, Azamat and Val, did excellent, careful work removing the old system, running new ductwork, and installing all the new equipment. The install took about 7 days. Communication was great throughout; scheduling, installation, and permitting all went smoothly.

Fuse came in significantly lower priced than everyone for a superior system. We wanted to add an additional vent on the main floor, and some dampers for a few of the vents and everything went like butter. Lex and Maxat were the nicest people, arrived on time, left at 6pm each day leaving the house clean. It was a 3 day install and they finished on the third day. Beyond what they needed to do, Lex walked through things that would be checked by the inspectors even on work they didn't do (GFCI plugs close to where the old unit was), and walked me through why they did some of the things they did because I was curious. We're 3 days in so far, but the installation experience was great, and the daikin system is cooling the house great (and I can already see from the energy monitoring systems we have, it's so much more efficient!).

Granted my machine is very old (10+ years), the repair specialist had all the right tools to diagnose & fix the issue. It turned out that the valve was malfunctioning so he helped me replaced it & tested a few other functions to ensure everything works prior to leaving. Another positive point with DC Appliance Repair was that they are very good at communication & professional. As I called early afternoon for the repair, they were able to fit me in between 4-6pm. However, another previous job was running longer than they expected. Instead of blindly having me wait, the team communicated the delay and made sure my appointment would not be dropped/reschedule. CJ is quite helpful for fixing our Samsung fridge with some freezing issue in the upper compartment. He is an expert and offered a clear multi-step plan after the diagnosis with different expectations of cost. We were lucky to resolve the issue in the first step with a relatively cheaper cost.
