Over the span of two weeks, I've worked with Eli three times, and each visit reinforced how much expertise he brings to refrigerator diagnosis and detailed repair work. He does great work and charges what I think are very reasonable prices for the level of skill and quality involved. The first call was at my mother-in-law's house, where Eli diagnosed a broken compressor in her refrigerator that had stopped cooling. He did a great job working with my mother-in-law whose first language is not English. She was very happy. A few days later, he came to our house after some interior lights stopped working following a deep cleaning. He fixed the lights, then went well beyond that. Our freezer door hinge wiring harness had snapped nearly every wire inside, which had also taken out the ice maker. I'd honestly written the ice maker off after a few failed attempts to repair it myself, but Eli came in and showed it could absolutely be fixed, and done right. He patiently soldered and extended close to ten broken wires, heat-sealing and re-sheathing each one so the same failure wouldn't happen again. His fix also cost much less than replacing the whole door which was what I thought was going to have to be done. Finally, when we noticed water pooling under the refrigerator a few days later, Eli came back and dug into the back of the unit to clear a clogged compressor drain. He cleaned everything out in the process and helped put everything back together perfectly. It's more than just his expertise that I appreciated. Eli is friendly, honest, easy to work with, and a just a nice guy. He also took the time to engage with our three-and-a-half-year-old son, who was glued to every step of the repairs at our house, and made him feel like part of the project. Ever since, our son has been busy "fixing" everything in the house with his own toy tools. I'm really happy to have found Eli and SmartFix. I requested a quote from Yelp for dryer repair since my dryer vibrated violently as if it was falling apart. Their diagnostic fee was $79; and it could be applied towards repair cost. Mid-range since others offered the same for $65 to $85. Picked this one since it has good reviews, and it's Yelp Guaranteed, and License Verified. Technician arrived, disassembled the dryer, and found two support wheels and one idler pulley broken. Quoted me $265 for parts and labor which I thought was a bit high but I did not know how much was fair so I went with it. Took 45 minutes from him arriving to leaving. So happy with the service I got. First of all, I had mold on my LG front end washing machine loader. Called and got quoted for the service then asked if they can fix my stove which I have waiting for months. This tech knew exactly where I should look in my stove to find the model number. The other service techs/company didn't give me this data or knew. Fixing my washing machine, the tech was friendly and thorough in his work. Stated up front what the costs were so nothing more or less. He replaced and suggested other methods to ensure my LG stayed mold free. I will always call Ely when I have an appliance problem. I have used him twice this year and could not be satisfied with his work. I first reached out in February when my dryer was making a terrible noise. His online booking system is incredibly user friendly and allows you to actually schedule a time instead of just a day or a long window. He almost immediately confirmed my appointment for the next day. He came on time and was able to fix my dryer using the parts in his vehicle. After inspecting the dryer and taking much of it apart, he explained the problem(s), gave me a very reasonable quote and then got to work. The whole process took about an hour. I reached out to him again yesterday when my washing machine stopped working. I had gone online to try to troubleshoot and thought my control board needed to be replaced.
