I found this business through Yelp because I needed to get someone to fix our washing machine. He scheduled a time that he would be available to stop by to diagnose our washing machine. He let me know by text when he would be arriving and he was very prompt. The washing machine was definitely broken and he showed us what was wrong and what part needed to be replaced. He ordered the sensor and came out the to install it once it arrived. Since our washer and dryer are stacked, he brought a helper to make the job easier. Details about our experience: Our 24 year old GE Monogram refrigerator was not keeping things cold anymore. Repair serviceman came (I think my husband contacted Sears). After hearing what happened, the repairman felt the compressor, said it was too warm and needs replacing. Then he looked up info on his computer, said our model is too old so the compressor is no longer available. Said we will have to replace the entire refrigerator, and left after collecting $110. I felt he didn't provide good service because he didn't do anything. All the parts are high up; the repairman just stood on tiptoe to feel the compressor. He didn't even bother to take a good look at anything. Our refrigerator is custom built with wood paneling that matches the rest of the kitchen cabinetry, so I wasn't going to give up on it that easily. I asked my husband if he can find OEM compressor online, perhaps we can have another repair company do the compressor replacement for us. Turns out the exact compressor we need is available. After much research on appliance repair companies, I decided we should contact Matt. I called Matt at 3:30pm on the Friday before Christmas. After hearing about our situation, Matt said he can come over to take a look, around 5:30/6:30pm if that works for us. I was appreciative that he was willing to come over so late on a Friday evening. Upon taking a good look at everything, Matt said the compressor seems to be working properly even though it is a bit warm. He said it's possible we might have a slow leak somewhere in the system, but something like that is really hard to detect and pinpoint exactly where. The best course of action for now is to add freon and hope that will resolve the issue. He was right because that fixed our problem. Matt made sure the temperature in both fridge and freezer compartments were dropping properly before he left. While he was adding freon, he also gave us tips on proper care for our fridge. I was so happy he was able to fix our fridge! A major problem resolved. The charge was $275. We didn't have to spend a thousand dollars or more on parts and labor to replace a compressor. And we didn't have to spend time and $$ looking for a replacement refrigerator that's not going to look as pretty because 1) it won't match the cabinetry, and 2) it's likely not going to match the custom built size. It's been 2 weeks since Matt's visit. Our fridge is working really well. Better than ever, in fact. I am truly thankful, which is why I'm spending the time to write this review, when I rarely write reviews. Cheers to you, Matt. Our fridge stopped cooling during memorial weekend. So unfortunately. On Monday of Memorial Day we contacted Clunch on yelp and got a reply right away. After some back and forth we got our scheduled diagnostic appt for Tuesday! He came and did the diagnostic - found our fan broke. Ordered a replacement right away but would need to be delivered. He came Thursday evening to replace the fan. Very affordable - easy to contact and communicate with. We plan to use him for all our appliances in the future. read more

This is a bit of a late review however, I would highly recommend Clunch Appliance repair. I had a problem with my older washing machine that stopped working in the wash cycle. I was unable to drain or spin the clothing that was in the machine. He was completely honest and explained the primary issue I'd rather than charge me for a repair that would probably lead to yet another repair he recommended to purchase another washer. I very much appreciated his honesty and expertise, particularly since this washing machine was 15 years old so I was only charged for the diagnostic visit. I have a Maytag Bravo XL dryer at my San Jose rental. Matt was able to come out the next day after I called. He diagnosed the problem and he had to order parts. Hi idler pulley is bad and one out of 4 roller is failed however another one sounds like it is going to fail. They sell rollers seperately which is 20$ each however they also sell whole assembly which comes with 4 rollers and 1 belt with it. I have used Matt twice now so I thought about writing him a review. In 2022, he repaired our Samsung Dryer when it stopped spinning, perhaps a motor issue. The unit was 9 years old and to buy a new replacement is costly so we've decided for a repair. Matt was quick to diagnose the issue and showed it to me. Best part was, he spent time with my GE fridge and was able to tell the root cause of problem which was not fixable anymore due to unavailability of the parts. However, he told me to try work around.
