We contacted service regarding issues with a dryer and a washer. The dryer's control panel was unresponsive, and the washer's agitator was not spinning. Alex arrived and addressed both appliances. The service call was billed as two separate services, one for each appliance, with a notable discount applied to the service charge, which seemed reasonable. For both the dryer and the washer, Alex performed a control panel reset. Following the resets, both the dryer panel became responsive and the washer agitator began spinning again. However, Alex also provided recommendations for potential future work. For the dryer, he strongly suggested replacing the vent hose, despite it appearing unobstructed and functioning correctly upon our own inspection. The estimate for this was significant, comparable to the cost of a new dryer. For the washer, he recommended replacing the control panel, with an estimate that was nearly double the cost of a new unit. Due to the high cost of these recommended repairs relative to purchasing new appliances, we decided not to proceed with the suggested work.
