I found this place on Yelp because it was in the area I was at and they offered smoothies. Let me tell you! This place is at the corner of Reseda and Victory, with not so great parking but don't let that stop you from going there. They have incredible smoothies- lots to choose from, fresh juice, croissants, donuts, sandwiches (breakfast and lunch) but amazing wraps that are delicious. The employee of the month helped me and she was patient since I was looking for a proteins smoothie with fruit and no added sugar. She helped me pick out one and it was perfect. My husband devoured so quickly. I got a breakfast wrap (vegetarian) in a spinach tortilla. SO YUMMY!!! They also belong the Fivestars rewards program, which is a plus. Free stuff is always nice. First time here. The parking situation can be difficult because ut's located in a small plaza but if you're lucky like me, you'll find a spot within a 2 minute wait. Walking in, I enjoyed the clean atmosphere and the selection of smoothies available with or without boba. Although their name screams donuts, it's more like a small cafe/pastry shop. Plenty of sabdwiches to choose from as well as donuts. The banana-pina boba I ordered was DELICIOUS. A shot of protein made it less guilt-filled! It turns out they didn't have any more, so they made fresh ones for me, which were done by the time I arrived to pick up our order. I walk to my car and someone blocked me in. 40 min later I walk in worried they'd be mad or that my smoothie would be sitting there warm. But they were so NICE and understanding. I love love love DC cafe! It's my go to cafe for a quick bite or my fave their jelly donuts! All the employees are super friendly and it's always a quick service. I have never had any issues ordering from them. Majority of the time i would either order for pickup or just pop in after my workout. THE SHORT: Come on, people, you're being way too nice. This place is no different than any of a hundred local donut shops. Mostly average donuts, average-to-below-average service, pretty unhealthy overall (even the smoothies), and by no means the bastion of cleanliness others have claimed. THE LONG: My wife and I have driven by this place hundreds of times and always written it off as just another forgettable, local donut shop that looked disgusting. But while Yelping for a breakfast sandwich place, we were pleasantly surprised to see this place had 6 reviews averaging 4.5 stars! When we entered, the first thing I noticed was that it was not nearly as clean as the other reviews would have you think. Is it gross? No. But it looks exactly like what it is: an early 1990's-built cafe that hasn't been updated since. But anyway... We tried several donuts: a chocolate covered chocolate cake one with sprinkles, the vanilla equivalent, and a classic glazed twist. The twist was very good and I would go there again if I was craving one. The other two were below average so I did something I only recently introduced to my food-eating repertoire: I threw them away half-eaten. (The old Picky White Guy would never throw away food where sugar was a primary ingredient.) I also had a fruit smoothie with boba because I wanted to try boba. I'm happy I can now say I tried boba, but it's unlikely I will ever try it again. It's super chewy and pretty tasteless. Not exactly two things that have me screaming for more. "But what about the breakfast sandwich? Isn't that why you went?", you're probably asking yourself. Yes, it is. But when my wife asked what kind of cheeses they offered, there were only two choices, Swiss and something else. Was craving donuts, so I talked my daughter into coming here, for our first time tonight. We saw the picture of the apple fritter on Yelp, and had to try it. We both ordered an apple fritter and a glazed old fashion. When we got home we saw she gave us a buttermilk bar instead, DAMN! We were not that upset once we tried it. Both were so fresh and tasty. If you put the apple fritter in the microwave for 15 seconds, its like warm apple pie. Its a cute little place in the 7/11 parking lot. I first discovered this place about 5 years ago, I was pregnant and craving Thai tea boba and a croissant. I don't often frequent donut places so I did not go back despite the awesome boba. Now I am acting office manager for my company and am tasked to stock our training meetings with little goodies to keep the employees awake. One of my main criteria for a place is do they take AMEX? So when I was asked if we could get donuts for our early morning training I called the little donut shop I visited so many years ago and asked my number one question, and yes they take AMEX!! The donuts are great, the boba is always fresh and tender, and the breakfast sandwiches are amazing! The service is on point as well. The girls working the front are very friendly and efficient. I've driven past this place several times to and from place and never bothered to try it out until now. It is located in a strip mall across the park on Reseda/Vanowen. I came here's on a Saturday morning and decided to get something quick. Initially I only came here to get a donut because it's obviously a donut shop and I wanted something quick. They did not have much of a selection for donuts, instead, they have a huge selection on bagel sandwiches, croissant, and breakfast burritos. I got a DC burrito and an orange Juice. I went back today because I had a buy sandwich/smoothie get on half off. I had the tuna sandwich and it was even better than I expected! It was one of the best tuna sandwiches I've had.
