I was in the mood for Dominican food, so I found my way to Antojitis on Holland Rd. They serve…read morepork, chicken, rice, empanadas, desserts, drinks, and more!! I like that the menu had a variety of choices. Shay took my order and she was super friendly and patient. She answered all my questions, and the other guy who was with her bagging food was nice also. I got the pork and rice and chicken and rice box, with chicken and cheese and beef and cheese empanadas. I'm very picky about empanadas, so I sat in the parking lot and ate the first chicken and cheese one, then I levitated somehow back inside to order more. They were hot and delicious! The sauce that goes with it is crack also!! Mmmmm. The pork and chicken with rice tasted authentic like someones grandma was back there whipping it up. I won't lie, by the looks on the pics I didn't expect much because everything just looked brown. But it was good flavor with both dishes and a good portion. There were a few pieces of tough pork, but that was no issue, I still enjoyed it. They let me try the cake which I couldn't decide on, that was so nice of them. That cake is good!! Everything a pound cake should be!! I'm definitely getting that when I go back. I want to gatekeep it so bad, lol, but they deserve for them to be sold out!! The restaurant itself isn't big. It's more of a takeout spot, but there are some chairs and tables inside. It's decorated nice and has a welcoming feel. It was clean inside and the vibe was good!! When I got there, no one was there but 1 customer. When I left everybody and their mama was there! What, how, when?? I got my food and joyfully skipped out ready to grub like a chunky kid at Grandma's house!! Lol. I took a nap when I got home!! Lol. Definitely check them out!

Except for slightly slow service to take your order, there's nothing to fuss about this place…read more Lively ambiance, delicious food. There's even some entrepreneurship going on with a gentleman coming over to ask if you want to buy a trinket, instead of flowers I suppose. I couldn't finish the food definitely enough for a dinner and lunch! I asked what they have for dessert: tres leches, tiramisu, flan. I pass on dessert this time although they sound good! Highly recommended, will definitely come back to try their plantains with either beef or chicken appetizer!

I…read moreattempted to visit a few weeks ago for dinner to try their Rotisserie chicken but unfortunately they were sold out so I recently returned again on a Friday during lunch for another attempt. When I entered I was greeted right away and was given a menu and I let them know I would like to place an order to go.  Service was great and the wait staff was very friendly and took my order immediately.  The dining room was very spacious with plenty of tables and they had bar seating available. While I waited for my food I decided to walk over to the bakery that was attached to the restaurant. The bakery sells a bunch of different Colombian/Spanish baked goods, snacks and frozen items. They also had a section setup similar to a gift shop that had purses, hats, clothing and souvenirs that you would mostly find if you were in Columbia which I found to be a nice and unique addition.  I ordered the half rotisserie chicken with coconut rice, fried cassava, and sugar cane juice with lime To-go. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of my meal. My chicken lacked flavor and tasted as though it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The wing was so dry and dehydrated that it was inedible; only the leg and thigh were moist. Additionally, the coconut rice was significantly undercooked and excessively sweet, to the point that I could not eat it. The fried cassava was served in very large pieces that remained undercooked. The Sugar cane juice was a dark brown color and had a sour taste, suggesting it was not fresh.  Fresh sugarcane juice should be a greenish- yellow color and only turns brown after it oxidizes which changes the quality and is not what I expected.  I have heard great things about this restaurant and hope my experience is not the norm. While I am interested in other menu items, I am currently hesitant about when I might return.

I ordered the beef empanadas, pernil with arroz con gandules, and yuca in garlic sauce. The pernil was tender and flavorul, the rice was flavorful, and the empanadas were a solid start to the meal. Everything hit the spot. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. One thing to note: some menu items are seasonal, but that isn't mentioned on the menu. My friends and I had to pivot from our original orders because a few things weren't available. It wasn't a huge deal since we were flexible, but it would be nice to know ahead of time. All in all, I'm happy I finally crossed this place off my list. Now I just need an excuse to come back because those drinks were looking real good, and I definitely want to try a few next time. A happy hour perhaps!

It was clean and nicely decorated. My friend and l visited on a early Wednesday evening. We were seated immediately. After being seated it did take a little while for someone to take our order. But it wasn't too bad. The menu had a lot of appealing options. Only select items had prices on them. For appetizers we chose the oxtail empanada with cheese and the larger potato ball. Drinks we had mango margaritas which were on a happy hour specials for 5.99 ( Happy Hour is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m daily!) For dinner I had peril( roasted pork) with white rice and beans and sweet plantains. My friend had the roasted pork sandwiches between plantains. Pernil could have used more seasoning but was very tender 7/10 Potato ball- well seasoned, piping hot! 10/10 Mango Margarita 10/10 Oxtail empanada - not a lot of meat and kind of expensive for the size. $9.99. 6/10 Overall, I had a good experience and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu and another Margarita amd Potato ball.

( I will disclose I am Colombian so I know a thing or 2) It was a Thursday around 1pm so it was quiet and I was greeted right away and my order was taken. So I received my jugo and it was ok. If they use the Mango purée use a little bit more because I hardly tasted the mango. I ordered beef empanadas and received 3 chicken and the other 5 were beef. Loved the freshness of the empanada and they were fried just perfectly! I will say I felt that there should be a little more protein in them and a little bit more flavor! I was disappointed because for 8 empanadas I was only given 2 small little sauce cups! First I'm not sure what is going on with some Colombian restaurants but please bring back Aji! Since when did we Colombians like our empanadas with the Mayo/ketchup sauce and the green sauce?? Please give us Aji. The chicharron was fresh and it was obvious by how crisp and delicious it was! I hope to be back to eat here and have a full meal!! They have a bar area and the decor is very typical to Colombia!
