He quickly scheduled an appointment for us, and a plumber arrived at 8:30 the next morning to replace the damaged water softener. The plumber was patient and took the time to explain why the pipe had burst and gave us very helpful recommendations to prevent similar problems in the future. Their follow-up service was also outstanding. A few days later, Sunday night, we were surprised to discover that we had no hot water. We texted Rich to ask what might have happened, and he responded very quickly. He explained that when the water softener pipe burst, the large amount of water spraying out may have extinguished the pilot light on the nearby water heater.
