Scam artists. George Brazil's goal is to find customers naive enough to pay their ridiculously absurd high estimates. The tech quoted me a work estimate of 5000 to replace a straight shot main water line. I immediately declined and ended up getting a well reviewed plumber to do the job for half that amount. The sales tactics used while providing me the quote were pathetic. I suspect they take advantage of older folks that don't know better. Shameful. **80-YEAR-OLD CUSTOMER LEFT WITHOUT AC FOR FOUR DAYS IN 110+° ARIZONA HEAT -- HOME NOW OVER 90°** My 80-year-old mother has now been without functioning AC since Monday, August 17. It is Thursday morning, August 20, temperatures have been 110+°, and her home is now over 90°. We had to remove her from her home. This is particularly disturbing given her history with George Brazil. In 2022, shortly after my father died, she purchased an approximately $22,300 sophisticated zoned HVAC system from George Brazil. We were told it required technicians trained to understand and service it. During the original installation, the wrong thermostat was installed and materials/instructions were left inside the furnace, resulting in a fire in her attic while she was sleeping. That prior dispute was resolved. Despite this, my mother remained a loyal customer and continued renewing her George Brazil service plan every year. Her AC failed Monday morning. George Brazil diagnosed it and said a part needed to be ordered. Wednesday, a technician returned, installed the ordered fan and left. The AC still did not work and warning lights appeared. My mother called and specifically explained that she is 80, had been without AC for three days during extreme Arizona heat, and needed management escalation. She was told a MANAGER was coming. Instead, another technician, Ricky, arrived. He told us he was not a manager. According to Ricky, the first technician had not ordered the additional component required to work with the part that had just been installed, and the technician who installed the first part did not know the second component was also necessary. By then, the warehouse was closed. At NO POINT during the first three days did George Brazil proactively offer this 80-year-old customer temporary cooling or assistance with alternative accommodations. I finally called their after-hours line and pleaded for a portable AC. Management became involved. We were specifically told a portable AC would be provided that night. George Brazil has confirmed its calls are recorded. The portable AC NEVER CAME. Nobody called to tell us it wasn't coming. We had to remove my mother from her home. Around 9 PM, George Brazil called her saying they had the required part for the morning and would call before coming because they "didn't want her waiting in a warm house." Thursday morning: NO portable AC. NO technician. NO promised call. Her house is now OVER 90 DEGREES. I have now spent more than 30 minutes on hold simply trying to determine what happened to the portable AC their management promised an 80-year-old customer. This isn't simply about waiting for an HVAC part. It is about an incomplete diagnosis/parts order, an unsuccessful repair, repeated failures to restore cooling, failure to provide promised temporary cooling, and the handling of an elderly customer during extreme Arizona heat. Arizona law expressly recognizes the importance of cooling to vulnerable adults. A.R.S. §46-451 includes deprivation of necessary "cooling" within its definition of neglect of a vulnerable adult. I am NOT alleging that George Brazil has legally committed vulnerable-adult abuse or neglect; that statute has specific legal requirements. I mention it because Arizona recognizes just how serious loss of cooling can be for vulnerable people. My mother paid George Brazil more than $22,000 for this system and has continued paying them every year to service it. At 80 years old, she deserved better than four days without AC in extreme Arizona heat, displacement from her home, and a promised emergency cooling unit that never arrived. As of Thursday morning, August 20, her home is over 90° and her AC remains nonfunctional. I will update this review to accurately reflect what George Brazil ultimately does to resolve this. read more

Our water heater stopped working so I called GBP and explained what happened! She was very nice and thorough on when my technician would be at our home ! (text messages informing me as well) The technician not only fixed not replace my water heater! He then did a full inspection of the house, free and found something that could be leaking very soon behind the washing machine. He took pictures and showed us !! we had that repaired as well. I called George Brazil plumbing for a toilet that needed a new closet flange and a little cement repair around the flange under the toilet. I pulled toilet and removed crumbled cement. Austin was sent for a quote. The theatrics began. He needed a camera tech to come look and give a quote... for a closet flange. Jerry, camera tech shows up. He lets me know that they will have to dig up my bathroom floor to replace ABS pipe attached to sewage pipes, and that it may damage the foundatio, which they wouldnt be responsible for. While he was here, he ran the camera to upsell hydrojetting of main line. Quote$5000 for toilet and 900$ for hydrojetting. I called OX plumbing. The next morning, Luis from OX shows up, quotes me 2 minutes later 600$, and repairs cement and puts new closet flange in. Total time: a little over an hour. He showed me the cement repair/patch and the new closet flange. Beautiful work!!! Honesty and integrity go a long way. Trust me.... Run from this company!!! read more

Of course on a Friday something goes wrong, am I right? our water heater was leaking so I began calling plumbers. George Brazil has serviced our A/C units, so I gave them a call. They were able to send someone out TODAY! Our service technician Jacob is by far one of the most professional and knowledgeable people we've had at our home. We did need a new water heater - that was evident immediately. Once we agreed to go with a replacement by GB, Jacob got to work and in a few hours, completed and inspection and was out the door. While I didn't anticipate the expense (we never do, do we?) I felt this was the best money spent and really appreciate the professionalism, speed to completion and how I received invoices, quotes and inspection pics immediately. Give this man a raise. I ordered a plumber to come do what I considered minor tasks that I would rather have done by a professional. They sent a clown. Of the 3 things I wanted done and for what I was quoted, one was accomplished. When I ordered the service, I asked that the flush mechanics in my toilet be replaced. The clown replaced the flush lever only and told me my toilet was an unknown brand and he couldn't find the parts for it. Years ago, I bought a standard kit (still available) from Ace Hardware that's been working well in there. Plus, the flush lever he Installed has come loose once a week or more and I have to make adjustments. I called and played phone tag with "Mike" a couple times there to try to get a refund and/or a real plumber to come back, but Mike's availability and customer service skills must also be circus worthy. In essence, I paid about $550 for my kitchen faucet to be tightened down and this frustration with my flush lever and a 3rd problem that went unchanged in another bathroom. OVERPRICED commission work. Almost $1,000 to install a garbage disposal??? I have a "VIP" membership, which is supposed to save me money - doesn't. I had garbage disposal issues on Christmas Day - was told that they only come out for pipe leaks and emergencies. Their recording states "Full emergency service...we're here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." When I talked to management they said that was true, they do come out 24/7. When I asked what I get for my "VIP" membership, I was told it's for emergency service (with a $59 service fee), which I couldn't even get when I needed it. Confusing because the call center manager later told me there are "criteria surrounding holidays" and that's why they couldn't come out - although that nugget of info is not part of their marketing. The original staff person I talked to also told me that a diagnostic was $39.95 (VIP pricing). When this "drain technician," arrived, that price jumped to $250, which entailed running water in my sink, looking underneath with a flashlight and taking a few pictures, then explaining that, although there was currently no blockage, the garbage disposal only lasts about 5 years, and it, the piping and basket strainer should be replaced to avoid another service fee in the future. Since there was already a disposal there, this repair is called a "simple swap," meaning everything is easily replaced. I paid almost $1,200 for the "simple swap" of a garbage disposal, piping and basket strainer. When I asked why so expensive, the technician said "everything is expensive now." Lowe's cost is $138.99, (frontline staff said "we have different types of disposals". No - it's the same exact model/price on Lowe's site and Insinkerator sites - https://www.lowes.com/pd/InSinkErator-Badger-5-Series-1-2-HP-Continuous-Feed-Garbage-Disposal/1003213846). Installation at Lowe's is $159. The Eastman sink strainer is $13.63 (https://www.lowes.com/pd/EASTMAN-4-in-Stainless-Steel-Rust-Resistant-Strainer-with-Lock-Mount-Included-Basket-Included/1003201578). Simple math shows that I paid nearly $1,000 in labor costs. When I spoke to management about the charges, they said that they have a "10% profit margin" and any less would put them out of business. When I asked the call center manager about the lack of itemization on the invoice she said, "we don't discuss pricing, the technician's do that." Really? Customer Service had no problem telling me there would be a "$39.95 fee" which never materialized. The actual reason is because this is a company of "employee-owners" and is commission based, meaning that technicians can set their price when they give you a quote, and you won't know because the bill does not itemize the cost of parts and labor. The technician also told me only to use the disposal for "small particles that come off the dinner plate". The Insinkerator website clearly states: "this compact garbage disposal effortlessly grinds food waste into tiny particles that easily flush down the kitchen drain" (https://www.insinkerator.com/en-us/shop/insinkerator/insinkerator-bgr-5). SO - I also paid $1,000 for "... highly trained, employee-owners delivering exceptional plumbing...expertise" that was incorrect. Finally, I wasn't given the garbage disposal manual and proof of 3-year warranty. They first said they would handle it. After I said once their one year warranty was up, they were under no obligation to me, the manager said he would have manual and warranty information mailed to me, although it was "easily accessible online." All information should be provided to me at time of service. Hard lesson learned: Get THREE QUOTES, do EXTRA RESEARCH, and just because someone is claiming the worst, does not mean you have to go forward if you are not comfortable. read more

So my watet heater was leaking so I called geoge brazil for checking it out.Great response time said yes it needs to be replaced I knew it already so they offered a Bradford water heater I researched them and like it so I asked price wow surprised I said why reason was warranty and techs were experts plus free clean outs yearly.i just installed a solar system and in order to meet my needs and power companies time frame i had to have panel upgrade to meet requirements and i did.2 years later I called the experts at GBP . To thiet promise and a call from me they sent a tech for yearly cleaning he told me my breaker was 40 amp needed to be 30 amp I asked why the first expert didn't say anthing I was still under solar warenty and yes my solar company was a good one.No answer yet.so I sit here waiting for electrician to come and change breaker hours 8 am to when they get here.my main problem here is if was informed from start by GBP I could have had it taken care of .So 2 years later I wait 460.00 for labor to replace bottom heat coil yes part was covered as promised ill give them that.so for an replaced breaker want to bet how much lol.l meanwhile out 2 days work 630.00 total for trusting them not even going to say.bottom line research and get written quotes in writing your choice just trying to help read more

if I could give less than 1 star I would. i had them out to look at a circuit breaker that tripped for no app reason. Tech came out and advise I need a brand new circuit breaker box. the price of which would be $1200. of which I could pay for over time for 18% interest. I had to have the work done the next day. the were booked for the following day. we were coming up on a holiday weekend and if I waited my house might burn to the ground. Tony came over and gave me an estimate on what it would cost for my repairs. I had lost all power to my outlets in the kitchen. A white wire had apparently disconnected somewhere. Tony found the problem location, made the repair in a way that he didn't have to cut into the dry wall. Replaced a few of my existing outlets with GFI outlets. He rewired a few outlets to make them safer. The end cost was very reasonable. I originally bought I'd have to take a 2nd out on my house to pay for this. It all turned out excellent.
