Arrived into Fort Collins on a 5-day quick getaway. As always with a long day of travel, evening rolled around and we were famished. Thursday night 8:00 found us here at DC Oakes. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating and we opted for outdoors on this balmy 80-degree evening. Wife N started with a mocktail: Summer Crush. Delicious and we didn't miss the normally included liquors in the spirited version. She ordered a make it yourself burger: just the bun, patty, some ketchup and mayo. Medium. Side of fries. Her way. Burger perfect medium. Fries were crispy, above average. I ordered the Mushroom Avocado burger, also medium. Burger was juicy, flavorful, and the tempura avocados were an interesting twist on the un-fried norm. First couple bites had some crisp but mostly the avocados got soggy halfway through. Not sold on the tempura frying but the sandwich on the whole was great. Got some local draft on the side. Well taken care of, food was great, will return. read more

I went with my wife and daughter on a busy Friday evening for dinner. Our wait was not very long and we were lucky to be seated upstairs. It is a fairly noisy place so I feel the upstairs was a little quieter and I was glad not to have been seated in one of several booths near the entrance with so many people standing and waiting on seating. Our server was nice and attentive, and the food came out rather quickly. I had an pleasant DC Oakes IPA and the Bomb Diggity hamburger with sweet potato fries. The burger was very tasty (a fat bomb) and with the fries was a substantial amount of food - I was only able to eat about half of it all. However, that burger had to be the saltiest burger I've ever eaten. Curious, I went to the DC Oakes website to find nutritional information about my meal and there is no nutritional information. A third-party website (Marcos.menu) offered the following on the Bomb Diggity: Calories: 1200; Protein: 50g; Carbs: 55g; Fat: 85g. Nothing about sodium. My wife is on a sodium-restricted diet and she knows not to order anything like this burger. But still, nutritional information would be nice to know. When do you plan on putting this information on your menu for your customers? I will return to sample more of their beer and food selections. read more

My husband and I took our daughter to dinner. We were able to find parking in the large lot at the shopping center. We put our name in for a table, but then my husband noticed three adjacent seats at the bar. We popped up there after letting the hostess know we no longer needed a table. My husband and I were up for a good burger. My husband chose the Bomb Diggidy this he paired with a pale ale. A cracked black pepper patty with bleu cheese, arugula, bacon, onion crisps, garlic aioli and buffalo sauce. He chose coleslaw for his side and really liked their recipe. My daughter chose the macaroni and cheese. It had four cheese sauce, cavatappi pasta, tomato, chive, spicy garlic bread. She decided to add bacon. She was happy with her choice. She even had some to take home. I was up for something different tonight. I chose the PBJ burger. A fun creation with peanut butter, bacon, roasted jalapeño, fig spread and cheddar. This was such a fun flavor combination. I had tots as my side. They were crispy outside and tender inside. It all paired well with my pint of Sad Panda. Delish! There is not much sound dampening in this space. When crowded it becomes difficult to hear conversation. There was also a gentleman performing popular songs while accompanying himself on guitar. It all mixed together to be a bit much for me. Our service at the bar was attentive, even with the crowd. Great service, great food, tasty brews. read more

Walked in to a very friendly spot! I've been here before--years and years ago--and even though I moved away, it's exactly the place I remember. Cozy, welcoming, and still a local favorite. One small suggestion for the establishment: please consider expanding the gin selection. Gin is really growing in popularity right now, and adding even just one more option--maybe a local bottle or a fun pink gin--would go a long way. It's always such a delight to find a place that serves a standout gin. I had the Sriracha hot honey sandwich and she had the steak salad--both were delicious. Great bison burger. Cooked perfectly. I had their cole slaw and side salad as well. Hubby had the ribs and he really enjoyed them. We dipped some of his fries into the aioli that came with the burger. Super yummy. The server checked in on and was very friendly. All in all, a very relaxing dinner. read more

We would come back, and I don't say that often about places around here. Loved that the kids menu came with an "appetizer" of goldfish crackers to tide them over. Also supposedly comes with ice cream for dessert but we forgot to remind the waitress. Service was fast and our waitress was friendly. Restaurant is decorated nicely, there is a second level, and the booths are large and cozy. My salmon dishes photo looks so bland and "beige", admittedly but it really was good! Creamy and cheesy. I don't have the opportunity to get risotto often, but wow this was so yummy and cheesy! Deciding to give it another try and was still disappointed. Again, service here is great, if it was just based on that we'd keep coming back. We ordered the Spinach and artichoke dip - this was actually pretty good, it's more blended than a typical spin dip which was new. The chips are on the same plate as veggies and the bottom half of the chips were soggy from the water from the celery and carrots. Would still suggest this as an appetizer. Ordered the meatloaf sandwich again as it was good last time. It was still tasty this time but much smaller portions than the last time we were in. Thinner slice of meatloaf, so that was a bit of a bummer but overall same flavors. Ordered the blackened prime rib sandwich and sweet potato fries. The fries are thicker cuts and really yummy. The au jus was good, but the prime rib was extremely salty. I had to cut off the ends, which is my favorite part, because of the excessive seasoning/salt. Last time we were here my entree was also very salty, so I'm not sure if they're just heavy on the seasoning or what's going on. I also prefer salty and savory foods but this was too much. I also became very ill later in the night after eating here. We want so badly to enjoy the food here because it's a great local spot and great service but twice the food has just not hit home for us & then to get sick this time around, was a huge disappointment. read more

This location is surprisingly convenient at the southeast end of Loveland. The food is adequate, with a standard brew pub selection and some interesting modifications, like pepperoni on Greek salad! ? The parking lot is huge, so no problems with availability. The service is excellent, and this place is huge, so there are ample tables. You probably do not need a reservation. read more

We've come here a few times while visiting Fort Collins. The food is creative and delicious! Don't miss the Chimichurri Steak Fries on the appetizer menu- so good!!! My son and hubby enjoyed the calamari and chicken wings! Calamari has both rings and tentacles the way they like them. The drinks are delicious as well and the service is great. On our last trip we sat in the bar area and Lexi made our happy hour beverages and they were flavorful with just the right amount of zing! The music is nice. The food is over priced, flavors are inconsistent and drinks were not good. To top it off, our waitress was SO rude. My family member had literally just died, and 4 of us came here to be together! We spent over $170 and tipped our waitress very well, even though she didn't deserve anything. Had the DCO Burger, really enjoyed the taste of the burger and the bread in particular was nice and soft. I don't care too much for fries that are dipped in some type of codeine whether it's flour or something more extravagant, I just like fries al la natural. The bar area was a little tight with all the 90° angles of the bar, so you can't sit that many people there without bumping into each other. The beer selection was good and they offer local brews from other breweries. The menu was pretty extensive so there were a lot of selections to choose from. read more

I go to DC Oaks pretty regularly but it was this last time i went in that solidified it as a favorite. First for context I'm temporarily blind and have been for about 2 months and going to restaurants has been a very daunting experience but the staff here made it easy and comfortable. From the hostess who guided me to my table to the random employee that gave me her shoulder when i got lost and told me the stair count, to Emma our server Emma! Food is always on point but my favorite is the fried pickles. Haven't had a bad burger and the ranch has a special spot in my heart. We stopped in on the way back from a long drive and after playing at Twin Silo Park nearby. The food was great and it was all reasonably priced! I tried the Belgian Wit and Belgian Strong Gold beers and thought the wit was better, but they were both good. We came during happy hour and their house brews were only $3 each! After seeing peanut butter hamburgers on menus for years, I finally decided to give the PB&J burger a try and it was awesome: the peanut butter pairs well with beef and works well with the salt in the bacon. I highly recommend giving it a try. My wife enjoyed her chicken tender meal and the house margaritas. All of the kids loved their spaghetti with meatballs and the kids meals were only $6 each. Our waitress was great and took care of all our requests. The place was well-packed, but our food came out in a reasonable timeframe. We will definitely stop in again, as we all left happy and full (which is rare). read more

I've reviewed this restaurant before. I gave it 5 stars specifically because of the hot wings. To this day, they are the best wings I've ever eaten and I may fly to Colorado just for these wings. Unfortunately... I ate here the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The hot wings were, predictably, the best in the world. But they were trying a new kind of "Salt and Pepper" wing. My buddy and I tried it. Skip it. Order the hot wings. I also had the Prime Rib sandwich. I'm a former food-service worker, and I almost never send food back. The Prime Rib sandwich was dry, overcooked, and inedible. The sweet potato fries were delicious. My friend's burger was perfectly cooked. And the hot wings were, as always, the best. I'm still a loyal customer, but I have to remove a star for that awful Prime Rib sandwich. read more

Had the white buffalo burger and although it was very tasty the grape tomatoes they use in the sandwiches made it difficult to eat and messy from all the seeds and juices. DC Oakes is one of those brewpubs that is sort of hidden away in a little strip plaza near Interstate 25 off Harmony Road. Ft. Collins has several epic brewpubs, but DC Oakes is a "must visit" location, not only for great beer but for terrific food, too! Their French Fries, alone, are a knockout addition to any plate. Double fried with a light dusting, they're super crunchy, tasty and everything you'd ever want from a potato! Lots of wonderful and unique options on the menu, such as a truly decadent Pork Belly sandwich with slices of avocado. It's HUGE and delicious. And the Fish & Chips are awesome, too, in a light beer batter that melts in your mouth. Even the Calamari appetizer is an unexpected treat, prepared with their own unique twist of knockout flavor! It's a big restaurant with plenty of elbow room, giving you a very casual atmosphere no matter where you're seated, inside or out. This is undeniably one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Collins. During the school year, my wife and I try to grab a lunch date here at least once a week. We usually sit at the bar and have a consistently great experience. The food is among the most consistent in the whole town and I've never had something I dislike. The chimichurri fries, curds and tots, and turkey havarti sandwich are all personal favorites. The reason this isn't a 5 star review is because the service is super inconsistent. Whenever we sit at a table, we feel like we barely get acknowledged once food arrives. Rarely get offered refills, have to look around for our server when it's time to pay, things like that. Additionally, the hosts are just not friendly. At all. They always look bored, barely show any interest in welcoming guests and have never once acknowledged us on our way out. My wife and I are both career restaurant workers and I generally don't get into yelp reviews too often but this place could be a 5 star experience every time with very little adjustment so I feel like feedback is valuable. There needs to be a management level plan for improving the hospitality here because they've got 90% of everything right. read more
