Possibly even worse! I will admit and take full accountability, that this is where I went wrong from the start. I should've read the reviews before I went ahead to schedule a visit. I could've saved myself a lot of wasted energy and time but GOD does work in mysterious ways, He saved me! The only positive result that came away from this whole experience was that I didn't continue forward as their patient, thank GOD! So this is what happened, my dental need was for a bad cavity filling in one of my back teeth that makes it unbearable to chew, so I can't eat nor drink on that back side. Imagine that discomfort and obstacle that I have lived with all day, everyday smh. I was first seen by Dr. Sharmin for my initial consultation and exam, he then referred me to Dr. Mojd ( Endodontic ) who was nice and helpful, suggested that I come back to repair and restore the refilling. This is when it went downhill, on my way out the female staff who work the front desk and including the office manager, all lack professionalism and competence which revealed a major red flag. Both Martha and Lauria refused to schedule me until I could receive a confirmation from my insurance company for payment verification authorization. Unless they said, I can pay out of pocket then I can schedule. *HERE'S THE KICKER! When I told them that I can't pay out of pocket and after the insurance company called them to discuss authorization, they switched up saying that their office doesn't do this type of work and that I need to go else where. **THE SAD PART: is that they admitted to my insurance on a recorded call that would only see me if I pay out of pocket, so which one is it? This is how they got caught up in their lies, so now they are confirming to schedule me for the procedure ( they claim, they don't do at their office. ) only if I pay out of pocket. ***ESCALATED THE CALL TO OFFICE MANAGER: She was no help, undermined me, dismissive, was more confused than me and didn't even know what was going on other than that I couldn't get scheduled. Conclusion: I'm just blessed that I didn't get the procedure completed at the office because now after I have read all the bad reviews, the doctors might've seemed nice to me when I met them at first glance but according to all the bad experiences, I was saved from further disappointment and agony. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE BECAUSE MY NEXT COMPLAINT IS GOING TO THE DC DENTAL SOCIETY, DC DEPT OF HEALTH, AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION, ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CONSUMERS AFFAIRS COMPLAINT DEPT and with the Better Business Bureau. Dr. Roberts, Paige and the rest of the staff are very friendly and professional, but we experienced painful and costly experiences with them. I had a crown put on a broken tooth in February 2017 by Dr. Roberts and by May 2017 I experienced severe problems with the work that he did (bite was off, pain upon impact with other teeth and temperature sensitivity). I had to take ibuprofen multiple times per day to function. I tried to work with Dr. Roberts to have this fixed, but I ultimately ended up needing to go to another dentist to have the crown sawed off and have a root canal done and another crown put on. At that point I ceased to be a patient of Dr. Roberts. My husband stuck with Dr. Roberts and had a similar experience to another commenter when Dr. Roberts told him that he needed to have a cracked tooth repaired in late 2018. His tooth had been cracked since high school and never caused him any problems. Dr. Roberts filled the tooth and the filling fell out a few months later in May 2019 and he was in a lot of pain. He went back to Dr. Roberts, who then installed a crown. My husband has been in pain ever since then. He went back to Dr. Roberts, who removed cement around the crown, but he continues to be in pain now and has to take ibuprofen multiple times per day to function. Now we are having a lot of trouble finding an emergency dentist. Also as others mentioned, we were told to do the deep scaling as well (my husband did it, I did not).

I truly regret not getting a second opinion as this has been costly and painful over the last several years. The procedure was not well explained to me, was not really covered by my insurance, and I have had many follow up problems as the onlay has impacted my bite and led to intensifying TMJ and pain. When I consulted a dentist recently in NYC about why my TMJ keeps worsening, she told me that this is due to the onlay which is too high and actually coming off of my tooth at this point after just 4.5 years - they are supposed to last for more than 10 to 15 years from everything I have heard/read! I now believe this was not the right solution at all, and I would have avoided years of pain if I had simply consulted another dentist.

She is honest and direct about the state of your teeth, provides the best affordable treatment plans, answers any questions you have and provides you with good resources. I started coming to this dentist office in 2021 after not being satisfied with another dentist in the area. She was up front about the care I needed, the different options I could take and provided information about what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. One of the things I appreciate most about Dr. Presson is the feedback she provides valuable feedback and recommendations so I can make the necessary improvements. Her team is great and communicative. I've always been contacted in advance if my appointment needs to be rescheduled and any billing issues I've had were resolved quickly. The office is very nice and modern. The chairs have a massage features which makes things a bit more relaxing while getting work done.

Fast forward to today and now I'm looking at a shocking ~$300 bill (that doesn't have an itemized report) because apparently my primary and dental insurance (blue cross blue shield) doesn't cover their services. This would have gone a lot better had they notified me at my appointment of which services my insurance would cover but they didn't so I had no option to accept or deny those services. I'm putting this here as a warning for those who choose to deal with this office. If you do opt to use their services, then check with them and your insurance first to see if ALL of your services will be covered so that you can have transparency and an opportunity to deny services you wouldn't want to pay for. Now that I have to pay for these services, it has been like pulling teeth trying to get them to show me an itemized report so I can contest any unfair charges if they are present.
