My cousin and I have been visiting DC Pie since it opened. Our friend Andrew clearly knows how to make a recommendation. Went for the 3rd time last night and thought it was time to spread the word and some tips. When the restaurant initially opened, they were clearly ironing out some wrinkles (like any other new restaurant) as pizzas used to take time but they have resolved that issue. The service has always been on point and very friendly/knowledgable staff. I highly recommend trying the kale salad, whatever pizza excites you and go large on the calozone. Also, don't be shy to be generous with the olive oil. I feel it goes really well with the crust and ask for extra marinara sauce. The space is excellent, vibrant but moody as well. It's not too congested like other places and has sufficient seating/breathing room. Music is not too loud so you can actually hear your company/conversations. You won't be disappointed. read more

Since I heard that DC Pies which is from the same owners of Lucali was opening, I was extremely excited since it would be right down the street from work and right at my finger tips. I finally got a chance of getting a table after going on Opening Day and it being too busy and going on a Saturday night right before closing time. I was excited. The waiter immediately sat us down at a table and attended us. I had the Kale Caesar which I remember being a lot better at Lucali but it was ok. We also had the meatballs which were amazing. The pizza we had was just cheese with basil and garlic but it was good. Our waiter wasn't bad but I just feel like he could of been more helpful with the menus and explanations since it is a new location and it was pretty empty. I'm not a big pizza fan I am more of a burgers kind of person, BUT the pizza here is freaking amazing! All of the ingredients are fresh the bread is super thin and crunchy the sauce you can taste how natural and light it is. I definitely recommend this spot besides the pizza they have delicious saladas I ordered the kale ceased salad and it's one of the best that I have had and the meatballs are flavorful and light to perfection. It was my favorite pizza place in Brickell, but I'm done with them. Usually I order online 2-3 times per week and walk in 1-2 times per month. And last month was disaster. The worst thing that I've got burned pizzas several times and 1,5 times smaller portions of salads. And nobody even said sorry, they didn't care. Also they force you to buy a $4,5 coke with pizza which is unbelievable! Their pizza is not cheap and add $4,5 just because they want me to is ridiculous. Especially when you don't drink this garbage. And the last straw was when I ordered at their website. I came to the restaurant and it was empty, no clients. All stuff was seating on chairs and laughing. When they saw me I figured out that they even didn't start cooking. They asked me if I want to wait. I said no, and asked them to cancel my order. They said sure but NEXT DAY I've got a message that my order is ready. Next day... and of course they didn't cancel my order. They charged me... I'm very sorry, it was a nice place... My experience with DC Pie is similar to several of the other reviews I've been reading. We loved DC Pie the first few times we went for dinner but the last few meals we've had here have just been an absolute mess. We sat for close to 20 min before anyone even came to get us waters or take our drink orders. I was served a different beer than what I ordered and when I mentioned that it wasn't right (I ordered an IPA and was served a wheat beer), the bartender scoffed and told me I was wrong. We waited close to an hour for our pizza before giving up and just leaving, telling them to cancel our order. After craving pizza on Friday, we found our selves at DC PIE CO. This restaurant is from the same owners behind Lucali, so we had high expectations! The restaurant is conveniently located just off 10th Street Station on the Metro Mover, so it was easily accessible by transit from the Financial District area. Shortly up the road by Mary Brickell Village, there is competition in the form of Mister O1 Pizza and North Italia. The restaurant is small, quaint, and has a rustic ambiance with everything being lit by candle. For dinner, we ordered a beef pepperoni signature pie. Our server did a great job of explaining the entire menu and what to get, since we were also debating between getting a smaller, personal pie and a calzone before settling on our choice of the signature pie. We originally received a pie that wasn't ours that was topped with sausage. We weren't sure if it was ours because the topping was described as beef pepperoni, so we thought the brown topping was just that. The server greatly apologize that a mistake was made, and quickly rectified it. The sausage wasn't a bad choice, but it wasn't what we ordered. The pizza was good! It was a pretty decent size and served with basil leaves on top. We asked for spicy, and the server brought us a spicy, olive oil based topping in a bottle, as well as red pepper flakes. We left content, having had a good amount of quality pizza (I think we had 3 large slices each, but, thought the quantity could have been a little more/bigger for the price ($16 base signature pie price + approximately $2 per topping choice). Overall, I definitely think we'll be back to try out the other items (wings and calzones looked good), and maybe if there is a discount on the signature pie price (lunch)? This is an overall, good, new spot for Pizza in Brickell that provides great service. I've been very much looking forward to Lucali opening in Brickell. Then we find out it's gonna be called DC Pie Co. So my first impression is it was good but not great. I only had a pizza. It looks like they do a lot more than just pizza though so I need to go back. So maybe after I go again this can be a five star review. It definitely has potential. Thee hospitality was good and I liked the ambiance. I had a margherita pizza and added some hot chili oil. That's always a nice touch. We tried and tried but this last time might need to be our last. We went for the happy hour and it wasn't so happy. Our server, nice girl but it was her first day as a server (ever) barely spoke English and wasn't trained. She walked in and the guy pointed at us (in Spanish) said that's your table. She looked lost we felt really bad for her. The younger guy who seated us rolled his eyes every time we asked him a question. He looked like he hates his job. Our questions were simple: is someone going to take our order? (Before the girl walked in we were just sitting there for a good 20 minutes. Being ignored). We ordered two beers and it's been 15 mins. Is anyone bringing them? We asked for water, can we get them please? No one cared! The one guy who seemed to be the head waiter or maybe manager didn't understand English too well. Just nodded, said yes but wasn't able to communicate a simple pizza request. He (along with the guy making the pizza) made such a huge deal about it that we said forget it. And still managed to get our order wrong. (language barrier). There was another woman who approached the waiter and said we've been waiting for our pizza for a long time we'll just take it to go.
