Spoiled by a gorgeous, educated, funny wifey, three amazing young adult kids even if they cause me to reach for the occasional Excedrin, great meals as documented by my nearly three dozen 5-star reviews and, now ... ... By an outstanding barber shop that's announced its presence on the Diamond Bar scene with all of the subtlety of a Shaq slam dunk, circa 2000-2003. Fitting, when co-owner/operator Matt has stylishly outfitted his shop w/ enough purple and gold memorabilia to turn (Lakers owner) Jeannie Buss's cheeks purple!! I happily stumbled onto DC Designer Cuts by sheer happenstance. You see, the events of our long national Covid-19 malaise compelled Yours Truly to retreat inward. Nearly three yrs ago I began availing myself of in-home barber cuts by an amiable young man and former HS Class of 2018 alum of my oldest son. So when my hair started resembling the Beatles on their eponymous "Abbey Road" album cover and the wife began threatening to shorn me mid-sleep and my "traveling barber" was unavailable ... I reached for Yelp and found DC Designer Cuts. Now I'm a middle-aged fella with the modern style sensitivities of the Pontiff, so I wouldn't be able to recognize a "Designer Cut" if it, well, gashed me in the head. But Matt delivered me a high-quality hair cut, tapered the back and even tolerated that my "barber shop conversational skills" are weaker than our beloved Lakers present day 3-11 ledger ('cause I hafta my hearing aids which turns me into a veritable mute). DC Designer Cuts is located in the rear lot of the old Boulevard Bagels spot on Diamond Bar Blvd. And while this style-averse AARPer can't tellya if they're handing out "Designer cuts," I'll enthusiastically attest that their everyday cuts are, well, a cut above. read more

I was looking for place and happened to come across this one... It's about 10:10 and doors were locked as I walked away I ran into a girl and she said they should be in any time I decided to wait---what a waste. Danny comes straggling in about 10:15 when the sign open at 10...anyhow he is very unfriendly and unprofessional when I asked if he had opening he said no I have someone coming but didn't offer another time...he said well the other barber might he should be here soon I waited and here comes the other barber 10 minutes later eating chips...at that point I thought I'm not going here and left to a place down the street. They have a sign "walk ups" welcome and when you do the act very rude and un precessional. read more

#102 for 2018 I found this close to where was staying in Diamond Bar. Needed to get fresh and lined up. There was no reviews but there was some great pics. I happened to see the cut I wanted, a regular for me. Called up, made the appt then made the 5min drive. Proprietor Danny was kewl. I showed what I wanted and went into the details. He understood everything. In no time it was done including the razor cut and massage. I walked out loose and fresh ready for the holidays. Planning to come back too. read more

Not a family friendly business. I sent my college aged son (accompanied by his younger sister) for a haircut. There was an inappropriate movie playing, and the barber didn't bother turning it off. He also didn't bother cutting a straight edge in my son's beard. We won't be going back. read more

At my in-laws for the holidays and needed to get cleaned up. Called and they said no wait! Woo! A great cozy spot to get lined up. Friendly environment and fair prices for a very high quality cut. Now I can't speak for everyone but I have been having a rough time finding a regular barber. Even my "regular" barber previously wasn't the most reliable source and I've been desperate to find somewhere I can actually have faith in. I feel like I may have found that in DC's. I found this place on Yelp and I sent an inquiry for an appointment, my request literally saying "Fade". I received a quick response and had my appointment set for 6 pm. Now because the main sign says Barber Shop, I missed it a couple times but I eventually found my way. Walking in, I found it to be a quaint atmosphere with the TV going. I waited until Ramon sat me down and worked his magic. I gotta say, Ramon is one chill dude. He asked me how I wanted my hair and even apologized for asking too many questions- I for one appreciated it. I even told him about my past experiences and how someone literally forgot to finish the fade at the bottom of the back of my head. He assured me that he'd get everything right, and I feel like he did. His personality was great as well. Before he sat me down, he offered some refreshments and really made me feel comfortable. He sat me facing the TV which I felt was a nice gesture, but I honestly wasn't paying attention because I was enjoying our conversation. I really appreciate Ramon and DC's overall. Since I end work at 6 usually, I need a place that is open past that, and with the overall positive experience I've had here, I'll definitely be back. read more

Pleasantly surprised. My husbands hair was finally not cut with ridiculous clippers that make his hair look like he's impersonating a Korean dictator. Scissors to preserve his thick curls on top, tamed a cowlick and clipped his hairy neck hair to reduce his sweaty head. And at under $20 the price can't be beat! Thanks DC Cutz!!! read more

The rating is only for the haircut. The barber was nice (even said sorry towards the end), but didn't ask many questions and went straight into the haircut. I showed a picture and explained that I wanted an undercut like the one in the picture, but the outcome was really different... bad different. Noticeably, he cut the side way too high up. I'll most likely be wearing a hat for the next 3 weeks. If you have asian hair (straight sides), I suggest going to a salon or a different barber. The customer service sucks. In fact, I'd say the big Hispanic dude is just unfriendly and rude. The black guy, who came down stairs and sat in a barber chair for about ten minutes before asking if we wanted a hair cut, can't cut hair at all. Maybe he is just a "one trick pony," and only knows how to cut one style. I told him to TRIM my son's hair and he pretty much have him a buzz cut, and a crappy one at that. Save yourself, and your hair, the disappointment and go elsewhere for a haircut. This place isn't worth it. read more

Very friendly and humble individual who knew correctly the type of haircut that i wanted through a quick verbal explanation when i stepped in the shop. Dad it's right around the corner from where we liveI I went there and 2 gentleman were hard at it and super busy. They actually accepted me as a walk in and I was very happy with the way I looked. Worst haircut of my entire life. I made an appointment with Danny but apparently he was just taking appointments for the shop even tho I asked him when he was available. He left the shop as soon as I arrived and I felt forced into getting my haircut by someone there were zero reviews about. There are so many things wrong with my beard and my hair. It's crooked, not blended at all, and very sloppy. I do not recommend going and I will not come back. Oh and the best part is I was charged $30. read more

I have been trying for a while now to find a new Barbershop to get my haircuts and I'm pretty sure I've found it this place is great and a very fun place to hang out I never thought that I would say that about a Barbershop but it's true! When I walked in they welcomed me with open arms they were cracking jokes and laughing and having a good time while they were cutting other customers hair ahead of me they included me in their conversation and even offered my something to drink most barbershops don't do that I thought that was pretty interesting so when I came time for my haircut I had told the barber who I believe his name was "RAW" That I wanted to try something different and he far exceeded my expectations he really outdid himself and I'm highly appreciative for that now everywhere I go people ask wow! where did you get your haircut and I told the DC barbershop in Diamond Bar check them out! read more

This place is exactly what you look for in a barbershop. Clean and chill place to get a haircut. There's a lot of space in there so that you can feel comfortable if you wait to get your haircut. There's some padded chairs and a comfortable sofa you can sit on unlike some other barbershops that only have a small waiting area. I've been getting my haircut by Danny for a long time now and will continue to comeback. He's always taken good care of me and has me looking good when I leave. If you ever need a haircut on short notice give them a call and set it up, they will always accommodate you! I've also seen Ramon's work and he puts in the time and effort on his clients.
