DO NOT COME HERE ON THURS & FRI (OR WHEN STELLA IS OFF). I came here early this morning to get my haircut and realized Stella wasnt available so I decided to go with the elder lady (Jenny I believe).. I specifically told her its a simple cut: 0-1 fade on one side and just trim on the other since its a comb-over. Hastily tells me yes yes yes and buzzes away....OMG it was a horrible experience. First there was no fade whatsoever, straight zero. Then I felt sharp bites from her clippers and I even said "Ow!" twice and she told me "its ok." ITS OK??!?! Its already hurting me and sure enough I came home and my gf saw razor burns on my backside. Stella is the one to come to if you need a haircut. They only charge $9 but that other lady should start charging $2. Its super frustrating for a customer because we have to deal with the mistake and wait for our hair to grow out to have it refixed. read more

I've been coming in here for years and I really didn't know that this place was called "Rudy's Barber Shop"!!! LoL!!! Ok, dumness aside, they are great! Jenny, (the thin Korean lady) is really nice. One time I came in about 5 minutes after they closed. I saw her leaving, but when she saw me, she said it was ok and still take me in! I was so grateful because I have a real important meeting to go to the next morning. And she really went out of her way to help me out. Who does that? Even my cousin who owns a shop would never have done that! Anyways, their place is really cozy... Ok it's tiny! But who cares because it is not the place that makes a business great.. The review is for the old lady.  This was my first and LAST time here.  Didn't even get a haircut. As soon as my 7 year old son sat in the chair, my husband tried to explain how he wanted my son's haircut.  The lady was so impatient and rude. She was unwilling to take a few seconds to understand how my son wanted his hair cut and told us to sit down with a very bad attitude.  She suddenly refused service and screamed at us saying she didn't want to cut my son's hair and rushed my son off the chair.  We told her we could not believe this is how she does business, especially with first time customers.  Unbelievable!  The rudest costumer service I have ever experienced.  I'll be taking my business somewhere else and anyone reading this review should also. read more

I've been coming here since I moved to Diamond Bar back in '06. For $8 you can't really ask for more. Maybe I'm just a simple guy but I ask for and receive a simple haircut. Am I asking for super stylish cuts or pampering? No and I don't expect it paying such a low fee. Don't be expecting a SuperCuts experience when you come here. This is a local business run by a very nice Korean lady and her coworkers. Their English may not be the best but if you're clear and concise about what you want, you'll often get what you want. If not, you only spent $8. When's the last time you spent less than $10 for a haircut? Give it a try if you're looking for a simple haircut and want to support a local business. Pros: $8 for a haircut. You really can't beat it Cons: You're getting a terrible haircut. I came in and asked for a mohawk, which should be fairly easy, right? I came out with an uneven mohawk. I asked to make it more even on my left. She sad it was even. I asked to make it thinner. She said it will look thinner already when I put in gel. I decided to just accept her low-quality haircut, and just fixed it myself after I got home. Bottom line: This place is probably fine for crew cuts or anything really basic, and the price is good. The quality of the cuts is very low, and they don't have gels or hairsprays or anything to style your hair afterwards, though. Would not recommend. read more

Straight shooter. This is a quick no frills barber. With that said, for 9 dollars you cant really complain. Compared to my perfectionist barber that would charge me about 30 dollars. This is the place that has the $8 haircut sign out by the street. I've gotten my hair cut here at least 15 times. I actually stopped going though because the 2 ladies don't speak English very well, so it is really difficult to communicate to them how I want my hair cut. I got it cut once by the one who looks a little mannish, and promptly never got it cut by her again, she made it look like a military haircut gone wrong. So when I was going I got it cut by the other one who is there Th, F, & Sat. She did a pretty good job, but then I tried to change the style one time, and she didn't really understand me, so I figure it's just easier to go elsewhere. But the price can't be beat, and if you can speak their language, you'll have an easier time than me. read more

I have been going to this shop since it was Rudy's and then he retired. It was sold to Korean barbers, but for the past several years it is owned by two ladies (mother and daughter) who both give great haircuts, though I prefer the mother, Jenny, because she usually gets it exactly as I like it. But the daughter is also great and can hold a good conversation with the customer. It is true that either of the ladies can offer a quick haircut, and from what I've seen all the patrons are satisfied. Perhaps the inexpensive price attracts, but the barbers make it a pleasant place to come to; I've never had a bad haircutting experience in the many years of going there. Cut on, Ladies, cut on!! Why is this place called "Rudy's Barbershop" when it's always two Asian ladies working here? The good thing about this place is it's super cheap. It's only eight dollars. That's right. I don't need to pay between $12-20 for a haircut, when all I basically need is a low fade. I like the top of my hair messy anyways so a low fade for $8 dollars gets it done. The two Asian ladies working here are super nice. They are really fast too (fastest was like 5 minutes!). Yes, some barbers are perfectionist, so they spend nearly an hour with the haircut. But those places charge nearly twenty bucks or more. I don't even like it most of the time. My hair comes out looking too militaristic, too clean, and too precise. Sometimes, there's perfection in imperfection. Since I like my hair messy on the top with a clean low fade at the sides, a place like this offers just what I want. They never disappoint. This place offers a quick and cheap haircut. If you want more of a natural looking, impressionistic haircut, come to this place. For the longest time, I've been getting my haircut at Pro-Cuts in Alhambra, but after moving to Diamond Bar, I decided that it was unreasonable to drive 25 miles to get an $8 haircut... so I needed to find another barber shop to get an $8 haircut. Thanks to Yelp, I discovered Rudy's Barber Shop. I've gotten my last 3 haircuts there and have been very pleased. I've had my hair cut by both of the Korean ladies who work there & noticed them training another gentlemen on my most recent trip there. There's no appointment needed and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. I recommend Rudy's to anybody else looking for a simple cut at a great price. read more

I was expecting a better haircut. The lady that did my hair just cut the back and the sides. I read most of the reviews on here saying she's really good. But if you're going to get a complex hair cut like mohawk,comb over, ect. I suggest to find somewhere else. If your just looking for a trim, then this is a place for you. The worst I've seen. I took my sons for hair cuts and after she finished their hair is wanted to cry. The cuts were very uneven. She even clipped the hair to a point (it was not rounded like the natural hair line) above one of my sons ears. When i asked her to fix it she attempted to by making that side shorter but then she didn't shorten the other side to match. There was so much hair removed when she cut the pointed notch that the only way it would have been fixed completely is to shave all of the hair to the skin. I will never ever go back. read more
