Autozone w 4 yr unlimited mileage no fault warranty
    Rolando F.

Some people want to gouge you. Some wonder why local businesses can't stay alive. They can't even compete! I've attached a copy of an estimate they offered me for a rebuild LQ4. I also included the asking prop ice from Autozone who they themselves are thieves! They typically charge 300% more for the exact same items from Amazon, and mind you, with delivery! I'll let you make your own opinion. I asked if they would offer me the same warranty, Steve's Machine Shop went silent!

This is the head fully assembled

I was having intake valve issues and they did an amazing job on rebuild this head with upgraded valves , retainers and lifters , when I got there to pick up the head they showed me all the process and how everything was operating how it should even by showing me the valve and shims gap which blew my mind that they did that & I 100% recommend this machine shop service A1 ! , my Instagram is that_facked_miata if u guys want to see this head under 30psi and at 9k rpm thanks for u guys again definitely coming back for my other cars !

I built this engine myself but I wanted to thank Russ at Steve machine shop for doing all the machine work. Thank you again Russ for all the project you have helped me accomplish.

Russ did an amazing job on my Audi S4 4.2L engine - when I first picked up this project, the block had been left in someone's back yard for almost two years out in the rain, sun, even tree sap and pollen stuck on it! Once Russ was done with it, it looked brand new! Steve's Machine shop is a multi-generation family run business. You can expect to get excellent service and see friendly, helpful people. My project was not straightforward at all but Russ was happy to work with me to solve every challenge along the way.

Russ at steves is the man to go to. Russ has built multiple engines for me ranging from stock rebuilds to high performance small blocks. He is extremely knowledgeable with what needs to be done for a proper setup and never once have I been oversold or has he tried to upsell me on something that was not necessary. His pricing is the best that I have seen and he is great with communication and keeping me in the loop through the build process. Russ has never left me hanging and is always there to answer my questions and gets his jobs done quickly. Highly suggest russ and steves machine shop.

Dropped of my flywheel to get it resurfaced , was told to be ready the next day. So next day came and my flywheel was still there untouched, I was a little upset but Steve make sure it get done ASAP , so waited outside for a bit and the finishing work is 4/5 good price and good works man shop . Other than that it's my to go shop if I need any machining Work to be done . Really happy with the result of the product.

Steve's machined the new block, valve job, and balanced everything.

I had Steve's do the machine work on a Lotus Twincam engine. They did an outstanding job! This is one of those rare places where they take a great deal of pride in their work and make sure everything is perfect. Russ and his guys have modern equipment and an old, and proper, work ethic. A pleasure to do business with them.

This place is awesome. Russ and his guys do amazing work. Being that this is my first performance engine build, I wanted to find a top-notch machine shop. This is definitely the place. They recently built my VR6 bottom end for my turbo build and I couldn't be any happier. Russ was always there to answer any of my questions by phone and email. I really appreciated the honesty and customer service. Thanks fellas! Now I just need to save up some money for the cylinder head work! I'll be back soon!

They have awesome service and pure and simple they balanced my flywheel and my pressure plate ...

    When Russell finished....

Hey Russ, Can't wait to show you the finished product, good work man - worth the wait!!!! I actually need to some of the Oil drain caps as well as the oil supply cap - having a hell of a time finding them online & don't want to break the motor in with the turbo's pushing massive PSI. Decided to go with the twin charge setup so going to break it in with the supercharger. Can you reach out to me - use my cell # on file as I don't use facebook any longer. Happy customer - Thanks!!!

I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.

They replaced my intake manifold gasket, BUT a P0200 engine code appeared afterward. I went back the next day and explained the issue. They told me they had left an injector unplugged and instructed me to clear the code, saying it would reset. The code was P0200, so I followed their instructions and cleared it. The code went away. The next day, I drove the car and it suddenly started shaking while sitting at red lights -- something it had never done in the five years I've owned this car. I checked the engine codes again, and P0200 had returned. I went back again and explained what I had experienced. They then told me that, in order to address the P0200 issue, they would first have to start by checking for vacuum leaks. This is where I became frustrated. P0200 is an injector circuit malfunction code, so I didn't understand why I was being told that I needed to start with vacuum leaks in order to address that specific code. I had already paid $500 for the initial service, and now I was dealing with a new engine code and a new shaking issue that the car had never had in the five years I've owned it. After declining any further service, I picked up my car from the shop. I then noticed a scratch along with a missing piece of rubber trim on my front bumper. I had not noticed either issue before bringing my car to the shop. The shop claimed they did not hit anything with the car, but they are also ordering me a replacement rubber piece. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. As a first-time customer, I came in expecting to have my original issue addressed, paid $500 for the service, and left with a new engine code, a new shaking issue, and damage/missing trim that I had not noticed before bringing the car in. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. I would recommend that anyone considering this shop be aware of what happened to me and carefully inspect their vehicle before leaving the shop. I managed to get it over the Grapevine, but unfortunately it broke down again and I eventually had it towed to their shop. Being so far from home with my family and not knowing what was wrong with the car was extremely stressful. They weren't able to work on it that same day, but they got started on it Monday, diagnosed the problem, and went above and beyond with the repair. Instead of just replacing one failed part, they replaced the related components in the system so I wouldn't have to worry about another failure shortly afterward. What really impressed me was that they managed to get everything finished around 4:00 PM, which gave me enough time to make the long drive all the way back to San Francisco that same day. The repair wasn't cheap, but after driving the car home, I feel it was worth every penny. The entire drive back was smooth with absolutely no issues, and honestly, the car feels even smoother than it did before. The dealership quoted me $3,000 for the repair. Before spending that kind of money, I decided to get a second opinion from TK Auto Repair -- and I'm so glad I did! They carefully inspected the car and found that the problem was actually a damaged AC drain hose. They explained exactly what was wrong and told me to go to an auto parts store to purchase the replacement hose. I brought the part back, and they installed it for me. And here is the unbelievable part: they didn't charge me anything. $0. They spent a significant amount of time diagnosing the problem, checking the car, and installing the hose, and they still refused to charge me for their labor.
