The gyro was all onions and lettuce with VERY LITTLE MEAT. We also got a salad and that too was easily half the size. We spent over $40 and we were still hungry from the exceptionally small gyros. When I saw it I said to my husband I wanted the regular size not a small and he said it was the regular size. So in addition to significantly reducing the meat they upped the price. Don't go. You'll be very disappointed and with a lot of money out of your pocket. Shame in them. They ruined their restaurant.

The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.

This place is small. I see people picking up orders when we're eating in. Plenty of people coming and going. They only have a few booths, so you're not going to see a bunch of people eating in. This place gets plenty of business, so don't let that deter you. Their rice platters are our favorite. They have so many toppings, more than most places that serve platters. I LOVE the pita inside the platter. Not everyone does that. Whenever we see a halal place, we stop in, and this is one of our favorites! Only thing I wished from our last experience was more jalapeños lol, we only had one in our platter :( And some places have a more mild red sauce, which I love. This place has a spicy red sauce, so I don't use it. I wish it was a little more mild, but I'm sure many people love that spiciness! PS - the baklava is delicious!
