Bought a car through a 3rd party app Driveway at DCH Honda. Allegedly went through a multi point inspection according to CARFAX. Open the hood, dirty and no sign of any human activity. The car broke down 29 miles away. Driveway immediately returned my money. Not a peep from DCH Honda. No apologies, no attempt at solving the issue, absolutely no customer service at all. Avoid. One could argue that they farmed everything out to Driveway, but no excuse for falsifying a CARFAX report or allowing a car to leave the lot in an un drivable condition. Absolutely terrible service department receptionist. I purchased a car from DCH Kay Honda through Driveway (parent company) and picked it up from them. I noticed the key to the wheel locks was missing and tried calling their service department to simply check if they might have had it on hand/around the shop (they apparently serviced the car and did a tire rotation, so they must have used it). All I asked was if they could check around to see if it was on hand. She nastily refused to entertain the question and told me to call Driveway instead. According to the receptionist, this is a rule from her manager. She was nasty in delivery, shared no real logic behind that rule, and didn't offer any solutions other than to effectively say "not our problem" when all I asked for was to see if they had a key that should have been with the car I bought off their lot in the first place. Whether Driveway (again, a parent entity) was involved, they were paid for the inventory and received my trade in. The fact that there was such bad service is a joke considering I was just asking for them to look. The receptionist clearly demonstrated little to no commercial awareness, because what should have been a simple transaction that would have been at no expense to either party has now turned into an unnecessarily negative experience because of her laziness and a terrible attitude that didn't need to be put on a customer who would have otherwise left a positive review. read more

I took my car to DCH Honda to replace a key. The parts department made a key that got stuck in my ignition. I made another appointment the next day to be welcomed by a rude service agent who told me I had to come back another day. On the next appointment, I was told the stuck key was my fault, and they would have to replace the cylinder, which, with the labor cost, would be over $2200.00. I declined their service and found an automotive locksmith who made a new key, without the cylinder replacement, for $250. To be fair, the second service agent was nice. However, the service and parts departments at DCH Honda are absolutely terrible. I don't trust anything they say, and I will never do business with them again. read more

As I passed the dealership, I saw a car that intrigued me, and I had an extreme interest in wanting to purchase. I made it a point to call the dealership and an individual by the name of Amanda took my phone call. I asked her several questions about the car I was interested in and she indicated to me and I will repeat just about a quote if I want to know anything I need to come in and sit down and discuss it with them. She absolutely unequivocally refused to provide any information or any response to any question I asked of her. I was beyond cordial respectful, and did everything I could to work with her, but she chose to fight me endlessly. If you look at reviews of all the LITHIA MOTORS dealerships that are owned by LITHIA MOTORS, a publicly traded company, they're horrific. I recently purchased a 23 Civic from dealership used. Upon my arrival the day before I agreed on a price of this vehicle and schedule a time that I would be there the next day as well as put a deposit on the car. Upon my arrival, nothing was ready for me when I got there. my salesmen andre was very vague didn't really give me much information or clear answers to my questions. Raymond and finance was fantastic. Broke everything down for me and answered my question. by the time I got out of finance I had two more papers to sign and Andre did not have them ready for me. By the time I got back he was worried about helping a fellow employee out with buying a car, which is very frustrating. I arrived at the dealership at 11:30-12 o'clock and I did not almost 5 o'clock which is outrageous. After I drove home the next day, I looked at my car and realized that there was no coolant in the car at all when they sold it as a certified preowned vehicle. Brought the car (2018 Honda accord 1.5L) in originally for a simple noise and some lights on the dash not allowing me to use some features In the car like cruise control. Originally I stated the noise is probably the dust shield for the brakes hitting the rotor as the ticking noise would increase speed wile the vehicle would increase speed. They did not listen to my recommendation on what the noise might be at all and they told me it was the front struts. So not questioning the "professionals" we get that work done, and behold the noise is still there. Regarding the lights on the dash they claimed the radar on the front of the car was dirty originally, so they cleaned it and the problem still persists so we had to bring it in again next week, then they had to charge me $200 for "diagnostics" and told me the radar is miss aligned and it will cost $700 ontop of the $200 to get done. So we do the realignment and the problem is still occurring another week with the problem not fixed. So now the noise is still there and the lights on the dash are still there not allowing me to use certain features (cruise control). I told them again what the noise might be and it was exactly what I told them it was the first time, the dust shield hitting the rotor. So we replaced the front struts for over $3000 for no reason, feels like they sell you bs so they get work. Now they also tell me the radar bracket is bent and causing the radar to miss align again another week in the shop, ontop of that they wanted to charge me ANOTHER $700 for a realignment I already paid for and more for the labor to install the bracket that they should've checked the first time when they charged me $200 for "diagnostics" I told them I'm coming to get the car and I'll do business elsewhere (some really good diagnostics)... For content they have had the car for 2 days a week for the last month on my only off days of the week. And don't expect a call or reply from them, each time I call them for an update they say "your service rep is busy with another customer can he call you back" followed by me calling them a hour later because they couldn't simple call me back, literally happened every single time I called. DO NOT GET SERVICE WORK DONE HERE, THEY WILL SELL YOU REPAIRS YOU DONT NEED. They reached out on Google asking if I could call them to explain what happened so it doesn't happen again to others, so I called them. No answer, wow what a shocker! Then 2 weeks later and another 150 mile the car needed four new rotors and now 200 miles later and 6 weeks out I need filter seal housing unit and as I drive my jeep cherokee , the transmission is starting to slip . I'm in for 3k right now not including what the transmission will cost .please stay away from this dealership for used cars and do ur due diligence and have an independent inspection done and don't trust car fax or the dealer and yes the car had 101000 miles on it 2020 but this shouldn't happen in less then sex weeks with less then 1000 miles on it . Went in to go over my options since I'm at the end of my lease. Salesman looked over my car to discover that it's in good condition. It took over an hour for this process. No deals, no loyalty discount offer, no special offers. Nothing but a bottom line price that was not negotiable. And no conversation with the manager, just an unmotivated salesman. I do not recommend this dealership and I will go to another place for my future purchases. Took my car in for an oil change. They also gave me a free general inspection, which most car repair places do in this area. $76. for an oil change, and that's with a $10. Coupon! I questioned that, as my car's manual states it takes regular oil, and the most I ever paid for an oil change at this dealership was $35. or less. I was told "everything has gone up", as the explanation. "But, more than double?" I asked. Then a service advisor said that they were putting full synthetic oil in my car. Started financing a vehicle, few days after getting the car, we had to bring it back in which it was in service for WEEKS with engine issues. Was told a thousand different things about the time frame and the actual issue with the vehicle. The whole time they tried to justify this problem with the fact that they gave me a rental car, which I didn't even get offered at first. I had to call and say I had no way to get around anywhere with my two children and was wondering what the time frame was. That's when I was told "oh you never got a rental vehicle? That's strange". So after weeks we finally got the vehicle back and it STILL had the same problem it had before going in for weeks. Almost like that wasn't even the problem in the first place. Even the financing company we were going to make payments through advised me that i should get my money back due to the negligence of the dealership and their horrible communication with me. We ending up wanting to reverse the deal due to very poor communication with every person I could get to answer the phone, which was a struggle within itself. Every time I called or tried to talk to someone, they never answered or called me back. The finance guy Raymond offers for me to look at other vehicles for the inconvenience and then never responds to my messages again. Puts vehicles back through the credit process and then goes on vacation and never let me know any more information. Vehicles that I didn't even get shown, know about, or they asked me if I was interested in, were ran through my credit. I'm still to this day getting things in the mail for vehicles I have no idea about. I contact the dealer that I dealt with and they had set up different vehicles for us to look at. They all had engine lights on. Manager comes out and says he hand picked a great vehicle for us, that had an engine light on as well. At that point we decided to just get our money back because it felt like we were being pranked. The manager never came back out to apologize or try and help in any way. We were told we would have our check for our money back on a certain day, I call that day to see if I can come pick the check up, and the girl at the front desk was incredibly RUDE. Told me I wasn't going to get my money back, too bad, she said she didn't know when I would get it and then hung up on me. Tried calling back a million times and she dodged the calls. Not sure if she decided to take her frustrations out on me or what but I made sure to mention her to corporate as well. I would get in contact with other departments in which they would tell me I can't speak to anyone at the moment and to leave a message with a manager. I left multiple voicemails to multiple managers and got NO RESPONSE. It wasn't until I started getting fed up and called corporate that I finally got a response from the finance department that my check was ready. This place is a joke and doesn't care about their customers like they say they do. The only person that was helpful and tried everything they could to help was the dealer herself, Kayla. She was a pleasure to work with. Every other experience here was like a horror show. When you put $6k down CASH and then get treated like crap and ignored until you have to contact corporate is ridiculous. We were patient and tried to be understanding during the process but after a month of issues with the dealership we had to just get the money back. When I'm told that they will do anything they can to help me and my children, and then completely blow me off and stop responding until I made it an issue, that's UNACCEPTABLE. I went to DCH to address an airbag recall with my 2012 Honda Accord. When I got there I was told that I'd have to leave my car anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, possibly longer, with an appointment scheduled for a later date. I am a full time restaurant manager and realtor, I simply cannot afford to be without my car that long. I was told about a three month waitlist for loaner... I ask to be on list and told it's not possible to schedule that far? He didn't even look! The lack of consideration for my time and the dismissive attitude towards my concerns was insulting. THIS IS ABOUT AN AIRBAG RECALL! To make it worse I got a quote over 75% more than a window from a competitor .... I really hate to say anything negative about Kay, as my last new Odyssey purchase went just fine, a number of years ago. More than fine! In fact, I tell everyone how I'd gotten my brand new $45,000 minivan home, and suddenly realized I hated the color! If it had been the really bright white, like the taffeta white back then, it would have been fine, but this was an eggshell off-white color, and I finally realized I really didn't like it. Well, I hunted around the Internet and found a page where Kay Honda advertised the offer of a full refund within 3 days, or else an exchange in 5 days (I wanted an exchange). I called it in, and the sales rep very kindly did the paperwork and I got an identical model--identical trim--but obsidian blue, 1, 2, 3, no change in price! I was so impressed at their service, I immediately bought $2,000 worth of accessories that I'd been thinking of buying. Plus, I've told everyone for years how great Kay Honda was. And even here today, I'm reservedly giving 4 stars, even though I'm reporting less than stellar service right now. But this issue is more their loss, than mine. The issue today was the parts department, where at 2pm I was trying to buy maintenance fluids and parts, but the counter doesn't have one of those hotel bells by which you can make your presence known. So I waited very optimistically, because I could see 4 people in the back room mirror, and I heard them chattering ... surely one would come out soon and serve me? (They could see ME of course!) Well, a fifth person did walk out of the Parts Dept. and go elsewhere, but said nothing. In the meantime, I saw plenty of other workers going about their business, plus the cashier, maybe 6 in addition to the 5 in the parts room. And 15 minutes later (I was the only customer at Parts all that time!), there had still been no one who had come out to greet me. So I finally gave up and went home, and purchased my stuff online. But hey, I consoled myself saying that maybe with the supply shortages, Kay wouldn't have even had my parts and fluids in stock! As it is, I didn't need to have everything right away. I am giving 1 star simply because they changed the process by which to schedule service. It is now horrible. You put in a preferred date/time and then you get a call to negotiate a date/time as opposed to the old calendar which showed openings. This new process creates tension and is a waste of time. On top of that, the oil change prices are outrageous - yes, they are looking to make up for lost revenue during the pandemic. My next car will be a Lexus. read more

Not only was that not true but the salesman promised me a spare key for my car. Also came up short in that department. This is an update to my previous review of DCH Kay Honda. Soon after my review I was contacted by the General Manger of their social media Adrian A. He was professional and apologized for my experience at the dealership. Adrian told me that they care about the customer experience at Kay Honda and wanted an opportunity to correct things to "Make it Right". He sent me his contact info to arrangement an appointment to bring the truck to address my concerns. I arranged a day and time to bring in the truck to get these things corrected. Went to dealership around 9:30 and asked for Adrian, he advised me to pull the truck in the service area to write up the repair. I waited in the service department for an hour and was told by the Service manager that all sensors were bad and it will be 3-4 hours for it to be repaired. They offered me a loaner in the meantime while they take care of the issues. I took the loaner and went home from there to run some errands. I got a call about 3pm to let me know that the truck was ready. I went back to pick up the truck with all of the issues I mentioned in my previous review resolved. I was happy that they reach out to customers that didn't have a good experience and tried to correct them. It shows that they do care about customer's feedback. I hope Adrian's team continue to provide excellent customer service for other DCH Kay Honda customers as well. read more

So they know how to take a reservation... they just don't apparently know how to hold a reservation. I made a reservation for an oil change for 12:30pm on a Thursday in July. I arrived a few minutes early. After taking a long time to check me in (presumably because they were recently hacked and now have seemingly lost the ability to track who purchased cars from them), the young man returned and flippantly let me know that they would not be starting my oil change for about an hour and a half. In other words, they decided to make my 12:30pm reservation into a 2:00pm reservation. I guess that was more convenient for them at that point in the day? Either way, that was not going to allow me enough time to pick my kids up from camp. The young man seemed honestly baffled that I was disappointed in the situation - which was certainly baffling to me. He definitely did not care that I had to make arrangements to swap cars with two other people that day. He definitely did not care that I wasted an hour of my day off to drive to Eatontown. And by extension of him not caring, all of DCH Honda basically gave me the middle finger. They could have easily called me (and others) to say that they were not able to meet their commitments that day. Yeah, it happens. That would have been great. I would have left that exchange thinking that they were a realistic, honest, and courteous establishment. Instead, I left thinking of them as flippant discourteous liars. I am the luckiest person to have ended up at DCH Kay Hona! I had the pleasure to work with Lenny Ramirez, Dennis Fike and Pat Hughes. From the moment I walked in the building, the receptionist was very friendly. When she noticed that the show room was getting crowded with people waiting for a sales rep (it was a busy Friday evening) she rushed to the back to make sure management knew there were some of us waiting. I was quickly greeted by Lenny who politely asked me to give him a few minutes while he finished with his last costumer. When he finished he came back and dedicated his entire attention to my concerns. I explained to him how the night before I literally walked out from a different dealer, Academy Honda at Old Bridge ( DO NOT GO THERE!) because the financial manager was so rude and had no idea how to deal with customers. Lenny was very empathetic and said he will do his best to meet my expectations. He showed me a few Pilot models and explained the difference between all the trims. He was very knowledgeable and was very honest with everything I asked. When it was time for the numbers... to my surprise, Dennis from management came to meet me in person to discuss all the options they had to offer when it came to the loan and monthly payments. I also explained to him mybad experience in the last dealer so the fact that he did the complete opposite without knowing was a win for me. I really wanted to sleep on the numbers and options I was given so they both understood and asked me to come back the next day. Long story short, I walked out today with a brand new 2021 Pilot SE as happy as can be! KAY Honda just gained a new customer! Do not entertain buying a car from this dealership. Very unprofessional and they do not show any respect for the customer Let's set the tone: Went there shopping for a new car. Salesman is in shorts and sneakers. I'm all about casual, maybe even a little old fashion, but shorts seems beyond acceptable for a sales role. After test driving the car the high pitch pressure sales process began. Salesman was back and forth to the sales manager multiple times. When I told them I wanted to cut out the games and to just give me the best price they had, I was told here's the price and I will quote: "you can take it or leave it, we do not negotiate under the current situation". When I said so the price is MSRP plus your market condition mark up our sales person walked away and said "have a nice day you're wasting my time". He ran to the sales manager and as we walked out we were confronted by the sale manager who was looking for a fight. He followed us outside the showroom yelling the whole time. If I didn't live this experience I wouldn't believe it. Very said that this dealership cannot employ individuals and philosophies that show respect to the customer. Perhaps some sensitivity training and treating people with the same respect you are treated with would go along way to improving your sales numbers. And consider dressing appropriately for the job.
