More than that, a customer came in needing brake help and they don't do that there, but he nicely recommended the spot she needed. (I will probably call to ask what place that was if I need brake work...) Even more than that, I had a strange issue with a spare tire I had that was mounted on an aftermarket rim, and he was more than patient at explaining to me the specific lug nuts I needed to get. I was more than ready to buy a different rim, or a replacement donut, but he spent extra time just to save me money. Pretty much a perfect tire shop. I don't write many yelp reviews, but I basically had to after my experience this morning. Oh, and as far as getting there, it is on an awkward part of Asbury Circle, and since I had a little extra time, I cut over to Asbury Ave before the traffic circle and it was super easy to get into the parking lot.

I was interested in purchasing a used Jeep Wrangler from the area and I had asked Anthony if he would do a pre purchase inspection explaining I don't have history on the vehicle and it is for my daughter who will be getting her license soon. Anthony told me he was busy and that he could look at it the next day and would bill for one hour of labor but it would be a thorough inspection. I was happy I brought the vehicle to him as he gave me a list of items that were concerns and what repairs would need to be made. Anthony was nice enough to give me a lead on a Jeep that he knew would be up for sale and offered to inspect this one as well. I passed on the first Jeep on his recommendation and brought him the second Jeep which did need work but was in far better condition. I ended up purchasing the Jeep and brought it to his shop, the necessary repairs were made for a fair price. Anthony has a clean shop and employs several mechanics who work full time and support their families with their jobs. The shop is absolutely immaculate which demonstrates that they take pride in their work and work conditions. Anthony's has been in business for Approx 30 plus years. Anthony gave me confidence to know that the Vehicle I bought for my daughter was now safe and roadworthy for her. It has been a few weeks and I am happy to report the Jeep runs great. They insisted that I had tire rot, but could not reconcile that diagnosis with the fact that they could not find a leak. I went to another mechanic, who did not try to sell me a tire because they could not find a leak. They suggested an inexpensive bead seal (which I accepted), in case the leak was around the rim and so not showing when the wheel was submerged. The tire survived the four-hour drive and has not gone flat since. My home mechanic thinks that the valve might have remained open after I inflated the tire (which I did on the day before the drive), but then reset after I re-inflated the tire after discovering the flat. Firestone's approach to the problem was a disappointment. I also lost a few hours as I needed to find another mechanic to appropriately address the problem. Ahead of a long drive to get home on Christmas Eve, this was not good.

While all the other dealers and shops declined to even look at my bike, Greg at TLC took time from what he was working on at the moment to check out my bike. He spotted the issue (slow valve leak) and filled up the tire with air to help get me back on the road. He gave me some tips and advice about the risk in doing so. After deciding to not risk the trip back to NYC on my bike, I decided to leave it there at the shop, which Greg and his dad had no problem with. His dad (Ray) even gave me a lift to the train station, as it was quite a distance, so I can get home. These are truly kind and helpful people and I am grateful for their help and service. They worked on my bike to get it going and I am happy with the work. They are reasonable, reliable and efficient. Highly recommended professionals! Thank you, again, Greg/Ray. Their prices are reasonable and on several occasion they have figured out intelligent ways to save me a substantial amount of money. One example, the shifter in my Lexus SUV went bad, Lexus only sells the entire shift assembly for well over $500. TLC took the time to identify the part number and source the $15 switch inside the assembly that went bad. This resulted in a bill of around $100 instead of $800. They have done things like this for me several times over the years. Don't be put off by their quiet demeanor, as you get to know them you'll find that in addition to their skill and honesty, they are very nice people. In an industry that's riddled with rip off artists TLC is without question a rare breed.

We had a flat tire with sidewall damage when arriving in town for a lacrosse tournament. I was worried because I was totally unfamiliar with the area, we needed to get home that evening, and were limited in travel distance and speed. So after the last game of the tournament we headed to Mavis Discount Tire and hoped for the best. While they could not source the exact tire that was damaged due to it being exclusive to another retailer, they were able to find me a similar pair of tires to go on my rear wheels for a reasonable price. The mechanic noted that my rear brakes were in need of work (which I was already aware of) and they offered to handle that at the same time for a very reasonable price - slightly less than what I would have paid my usual mechanic at home. Knowing we were from out of town and had a 3+ hour trip ahead of us, they prioritized getting the work done quickly so we could get started on our journey home. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was much appreciated in a stressful situation!
