This is my most favorite massage place ever! I first discovered Dcompress Downtown when I received a Groupon as a gift. I have had nothing but wonderful massages and experiences here. My fiancé and I come often, driving down from Julian to get massages! Sabrina was my favorite therapist but because of conflicting schedules, I have had other therapists and they all are wonderful! Kelly is amazing too! The service is always top notch and the owner, Dee, is so caring about everyone who walks in the door. I always feel like I walk into the spa full of friends when I arrive. I also have had many wax services by Megan and have been very pleased. I have been going to Dcompress for around 2 years... I love this place! What really sets them aside from a lot of the massage places you see now with "memberships" is that they don't have a revolving door of massage therapists and they aren't a big chain just there to collect a buck. They get to know each and every one of their clients. I go regularly to Kelly and D, and not only do they give a GREAT massage, but they know what's going on with my body (injuries, issues) and even whats going on in my life (stresses, schedule, etc). They truly are therapists :) I love that the prices are reasonable so I can get massages on a regular basis- this has so helped my problematic back and neck so much! Amazing massage, every time! I was a member for about 6 months before moving across the country, and I wish I could have taken them with me! The girls are so friendly, and if you go more than once, they remember you and where your trouble spots are. Nicole was my massage therapist, and she's amazing! She was very patient with me and listened to me when I told her what I wanted her to focus on. She seemed really educated about the body and how the muscles work and release. My partner usually sees Kelly, and she hasn't been able to find someone comparable in our new city either. The owner Dee is also really great. The first time I went, I forgot to tell them it was my first time, so I didn't get the introductory rate, but Dee noticed and made sure to take it off my bill for the next time. Dcompress Downtown is my go-to place for getting a massage in San Diego. Every therapist I have had is the best. Between my wife and I, we have had every therapist and they are all amazing! Their new location is quiet, inviting, calming and very convenient. We just had 2 hour massages this morning with D and Jade and all I can say is... AMAZING!! If you have had massages before, I'm sure you've had some that are hit or miss. NOT HERE! Every time I get a massage here, I feel like a million bucks! Awesome experience! I've been here twice for Brazilians and each time has been great. Every member of the staff is nice and makes you feel welcome. The salon is downstairs of a renovated, pretty building in Little Italy and the whole atmosphere is charming. I've been getting waxed for awhile and still hate it. However, my esthetician Priscilla was amazing; super friendly, thorough and fast! I have sensitive skin but she listened to my concerns and I have had no issues after either experience. She did my eyebrows as well and they look great. I'll absolutely be back to see her and would recommend her to anyone that needs waxing services! read more

I absolutely love Dcompress Downtown! I started visiting Julia almost a year ago now for sugaring and it's been such a great experience every time. She definitely knows what she's doing and always gives me such great advice for how to treat my skin with natural ingredients. She makes you feel so comfortable to the point where now my visits are like catching up with a friend. She does facials as well! The location is great for me right in between Downtown and Little Italy and I never have problems with parking no matter what time of day it is. Went here for a couples massage and had a good experience. The two women who greeted us were very kind and welcoming, explained everything. I really like that you can choose your own music as oftentimes I feel as if I relax better with something I prefer over the traditional spa sounds. The couples massage also comes with free essential oils, however, it's just a quick sniff they put over your face and tell you to breath deeply. I was hoping for it to run throughout the massage in a diffuser to have it longer than one inhale. The massage itself was just mediocre. I have been going to this place for years. They just moved from the Gaslamp to a new location in little Italy with more room! I have referred many friends here and they all love it and go regularly. Their memberships are so flexible (don't get a massage one month, your dues roll over and can be used toward your next massage - no use it or lose it policy) and they make getting a regular massage an affordable luxury. They are very friendly and always remember my name, and what is going on with my body and what needs work. A good massage is really therapeutic and I can tell huge difference in my over all well being. I highly recommend them! read more

I have been going to DCompress Dtwn for a bit less than a year but it's great! I LOVE Nicole, for both massage AND acupuncture! She finds places in my body with kinks that I didn't even know I had. I signed up for the membership so I faithfully go once per month; then as needed for acupuncture! She is so professional and has gone to the ends of the earth to fight with my healthcare provider for the acu!!!! Since they moved to this new location the parking is VERY convenient. I went in with my boyfriend for couples massage. I've had dozens of massages, but this was his first. The ladies at Dcompress did not disappoint! I had Sabrina, and her hands were strong enough to satisfy even the pickiest deep tissue massage connoisseur. I asked her to be gentle in a couple places and she adjusted perfectly. My man had Jade and she was gentle on him since he's new to the gig. The blissed-out look on his face after the massage speaks volumes for Jade's skills. From start to finish, what an amazing experience! I was greeted by warm smiles when I first walked in, and my massage therapist Jade took me back. She took time to talk to me and see what kind of pain my body was in, gave me some music options to listen to, and then began. About 5-10 minutes in, she checked with me on pressure and adjusted to my needs. The rest of the time, I was in complete relaxation. I was super bummed when I found out this place was moving. But the new location is just as nice as the old one and the therapists are just as skilled and friendly as I remember. Plus it is now right next to the Stone tasting room so I can get a bite and a drink afterwards. I do not go anywhere else but here to get a massage in SD. You are always taking a chance when you go to a new spa for a massage and there are too many good therapists here to even consider going anywhere else.I'm hooked.
