I've been coming here for many years. Lisa is definitely consistent when it comes to cutting my beard and my haircut. My friends make fun of me because I don't go to a barber, but that's okay. Every time I come here she's friendly and gets it done. Best shampoo around town. Yeah she's a little more money than normal hair stylist but definitely worth the money. You pay for what you get for here in the silicon valley. Make an appointment. She gets booked really fast. She has a strong clientele that always consistently comes to see her. So make sure you book ahead and always be on time. To be honest, she's better than any Barber I've ever went to go see. And there's so many nice food selections around her as well. I came into this place after some great reviews from a friend and it has now become my go to spot for hair needs! Lisa and her colleagues are incredibly sweet and understand hair very well! Once you show them the reference photos they explain what suits your hair and what wouldn't and do complete justice to what you ask for. I also got a hydration treatment and balayage this time with my hair cut and they were incredibly patient during the entire process and made sure I was comfortable. I called in the same day for an appointment and they were able to accommodate me. However I do recommend you call ahead since they get busy. I'm mixed race and my hair is pretty hard to tame with any old simple blow dry. They did a great job but I did have to give a little bit of feedback of remaining curls/frizz. So after doing literally hours of research on the internet for a good hair salon that knew how to cut Asian hair and wouldn't cost me an arm/leg, I decided to give this place a try. It had great reviews, was relatively close to where I live, and the big bonus was that I read that there would be a head massage included during shampoo... My weakness! I called to book an appointment and was told I could come in the same day, right before they closed. And oh my goodness... all I can say is I WILL definitely be coming back again! I've gone to Lisa a few times now for haircuts and most recently, balayage. She nailed the hair color I had shown her as reference, and it still looks naturally blended a month later. Before, I had been looking for a hairstylist for regular cuts after moving into the area, and I was SO pleased with how my layers came out. I was also happy to find that they grew out nicely and still framed my face well, when that hasn't always happened with choppier haircuts in the past. You can tell they take their time to make sure it's done right. I've been to a few places that will care more about chatting with the other employees, or watching what's on the TV, than worrying about their quality of work. Not so here! Lisa is awesome! I have been going to DD's for a while now for my haircut and have never been dissatisfied. I have always been very conscious when it comes to haircuts, I have really thick hair (trust me, when I say really thick-I mean REALLY thick) and a lot of people do not know how to handle such a bundle. I took my chances with them and well, like they say, it was worth the risk!! Lisa was so great with my hair!! These women really know their business (or maybe there's magic in their scissors haha). All my haircuts have been perfect and I always get complimented for them after my visits. When you are there, be very transparent with them on what you want out of your haircut and then relax, you will be in great hands! P.S : Little tip-The ladies are a little generous with their inches and may cut an inch or two extra than you would want so be very clear with how much of hair you would want to lose. Haircut by Thuy Tran... first pic is just after getting home from the business. Bangs were supposed to be worn on the front of my face versus side swept. but ended up with a "hole" in my bangs where one part on the left side is way shorter than the rest. I can't wear my bangs now until they grow out and get evened up. As for the rest of the hair it was supposed to be layered but is not cut even close to evenly on both sides. And for some reason she used buzzers to cut the back side of my hair WHILE talking on the phone. Do not recommend whatsoever. read more

I've been here for haircut several times and had excellent experience with Lisa! If you want a decent haircut, Lisa is the only one I would trust here. I recently came here for a trim and had an appointment with Lisa. Upon arriving on time, I was told that Lisa was running almost one hour behind. They recommended another stylist who was available and had 15 years experience. I was still hesitant and should have trusted my gut, but didn't want to wait another hour. My hair was getting long and curling outwards, so I requested a trim of 1.5-2 inches, easily manageable, looks good and a little layer. The result was total opposite and it was even more obvious after washing hair at home. The stylist who fixed my hair (at another salon) immediately told me my hair was a mess. The cut was textured all wrong, the layers were all over the place that she had no choice but to cut it more to even out the choppiness. Lesson learned - when you find a stylist you like, stick with him/her! If you want to try someone new, do your research first and make sure they have enough positive reviews (preferably with pics). read more

I have been making the trip from Watsonville to here multiple times before I moved to SJ. Got a perm for the first time and it was perfect. Went there 3 times, found them at Groupon 2 years ago, it's changed ownership after 2 haircuts. Just recently went there for a haircut and white hair root touched up On Jan' 7. Lisa, a new owner charged $60 for touched up and $35 for a haircut. I did root touch up before in a different salon, and it took 4 weeks till the color faded out and new hair come out, that's why pay more money instead you do it at your own which only last 2 weeks the most. I just realized 3 days ago the root touched up faded out within 10 days, since I worked in the weekend thru Monday, yesterday, on Tuesday I called Lisa, and she asked me to stop by so she can take a look. I went and drove there for 30 min. just to show her the result, and she said my hair growth, it's not the case... , it's faded in the middle whereas the other areas are still have a new hair color. She has so many excused first she told me that I came in Jan' 2 (which is I showed my appt. schedule thru my phone that I was there on 7 instead of 2), also I have receipts that I paid thru my Visa card. Second, she said ohhh I have the redness in my hair on and on. I don't want to argue with her, but she treats me like I am an idiot and I don't know what I am taking about, or I can't tell the different between faded or growing a new hair. If I knew this is going to be the result of $60 white hair touched up, then I would rather buy the hair color from the counter at Walmart or Target, and do it on my own which the result as a professional hair salon at DD Salon. After this experienced never ever going back again just a waste of my time and money plus the driving distance. Is it worth it???? read more

My experience here was pretty good, not too bad actually. I found a groupon for a $35 haircut that included wash and shampoo/condition, and blow dry. However, if you do not have the actual Groupon they will still honor the deal if you just mention it to them when you book your appointment. Scheduling was easy with them, and I recommend you do it!! It will just save you time in the long run. I decided to chop off about 6 inches. It was funny because Lisa asked for my approval and once I said yes, she immediately snipped off a huge chunk of my hair!! It was just all gone like that lol. She also gave me some nice layers at the bottom and then styled my hair for an extra $5. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I believe I found my new place for haircuts!! This is the go-to hair salon for my husband, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and pretty much all our close friends. It is very cutely decorated, and the people who work here are all amazing and sweet! We all get our hair cut from Lisa!!! She really is the best!
